Vi bodde i 36. etg. av 40, og utsikten derfra var formidabel. Helt fantastisk. Hotellbetjeningen var veldig høflige og hyggelige. Hotellet var helt etter hva vi forventet til prisen vi betalte. Vi bodde i den eldre fløyen, men rommet var stort og greit og framfor alt ryddig og rent til enhver tid. Og den fantastiske utsikten skal en lete lenge etter. Rett ut i The Skyline.

Very close to the subway and Grand Central Station. 24 hour luggage storage after checkout and the staff was very friendly. It is on a busy street due to the location and you can hear some traffic from the room but it wasn't too loud, especially for NYC it wasn't too bad.

Elizabeth in housekeeping was a tremendous help in getting bedding and towels for us!!! She was pleasant while we were all very angry about the bed situation. Thank you Elizabeth! Long wait for checkin. Need more staff at front desks. I reserved a room with 2 double beds for 4 people. I called twice to confirm and reiterate that I wanted 2 double beds. At checkin I said I needed 2 double beds(this was at 1:30pm) Receptionist said yes I see that is what you requested. I was told room was not ready and they would call be about 3pm when room was ready which they did. Again, a long wait for receptionist, she gave me keys to room which had a king size bed and pull out sofabed!!! I called front desk to get a room with 2 double beds as I requested and they said they had no more and because I booked with a third party (travelocity) they could do nothing about it as rooms are not guarenteed (bed types). I am angry about this situation and will rethink ever staying at a Westin hotel and I will also rethink about using travelocity.
Nothing. Third party booked stay then went bankrupt. No email or advance notice. Hotel receptionist extremely rude and antagonistic. Not enough decency to offer comparable rate to alleviate situation. Never again.
Nice efficient hotel and very conveniently located. The room was of okayish size. The attached washroom was rather awkward - can't lock the door and the wash basin was too small leading to water spilling all over the place. One day the room could not be cleaned and when we complained, the manager himself came for the apology and also offered compensating action which was very nice of him.Elevators are quick. Washroom

Good location, clean room, good room lighting. You can hear door slamming, AC did not work well, it was either too cold or too hot.

Great customer focus and service
Location great! Right in the middle of all the spots a tourist would want to visit. Walking Access to pretty much everywhere and Central Terminal if you want to take the Subway or rail. Plenty of decent restaurants and bars close by.

Very pleasant and accomodating staff. Close to United Nations building, Grand Central station, Empire state building. We had only 2 problems with this hotel. 1. aka website states that the apartment has "spectacular" views which is absolutely not the case. The views that we had were just of the next building. This may be the case for all Manhattan apartment/hotels but the aka should withdraw their claim of "stunning" views. The "view" from the room was particularly important to us and we and specifically requested this at the time of booking and were dissapointed to find that there was little to see from the apartment. 2. It would be much better if the sofa in the lounge woud instead be a sofabed.

Space and privacy. housekeeping was spotty some of the time, late, and frequently the room was not cleaned well enough e.g. trash left in trash cans.
It was very relaxing stay; the facilities in the room were very sufficient. The room cleaning has to be more than one time in a week.

I stayed in a one-bedroom suite and I had everything I could need for a 1-week stay. The location was excellent for my meetings and the personnel - especially the reception - was very accommodating and nice. Also, since I was there at a less busy time for the location, the price quality was excellent. Not really.

Hotel is clean, remodeled, good location and has breakfast. Small reception, the staffs were always busy and with line to talk to them. We could have some water bottles at our room for purchase.
The breakfast was good had a lot to choose from. Room was quiet, comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Not enough seating in the breakfast area. The maid service knocked and came in our room twice didn't know we needed to dead bolt our door but they did apologized. One of the elevators was out of service on the last day of our stay and the other one was not working right so going up 15 flights of stairs to get our luggage and coming back down was not ideal.
This is a perfectly fine hotel to stay when traveling for Business. It's right in the middle of offices, restaurants, stores and just a couple a blocks from Grand Central station and subway. Great size room, clean and comfortable beds.
For the price the room was great! Room was clean. Room was small, but that was expected. It took a bit to get checked in because they seemed a bit understaffed, but that wasn't too big of a deal for the great price!

Helpful morning/day staff. Friendly and just pleasant to interact with Night staff couldn't care less. No hot water for half of a day. Closet door fell off when trying to close it. Bathroom door wouldn't shut. We got an ADA accessible room and we're not told at reception.
The hotel is in a great location, clean and updated. My biggest problem is we requested from the front desk a late check out at 2pm which was happily agreed when we checked in. The problem lied the next morning when the cleaning staff knocked on our room every hour after 9am even with a do not disturb sign on the door. I don't think they were passed the message of a late check out. if I stay there again, I will plead with the front desk to please respect the 2pm late checkout and do not disturb your customers until then. I had trouble going back to sleep and left the hotel groggy and a bad taste in my mouth. The cleaning staff just didn't listen the first 3 times we told them to come back after 2pm.

Location was good and the facade / hotel bar area was pretty nice. Staff seemed annoyed that you dared to speak to them; as of June 2014, hotel is clearly in a transition from a prior incarnation / owner (e.g., valet tickets and front-desk voicemail still say "Alex Hotel"); many amenities and fixtures were dirty and/or missing; baffling shower fixture; bathroom had open exposed wiring hanging out of an unused light fixture box, etc.
Staff was very helpful and any minor issues were quickly resolved It appears that there is some updating etc required since acquired by Wyndham ? That will help take the hotel to next level !
The housekeeping was good. The furnishings in the room were broken and old. Only about half of the electrical outlets worked.

Staff answered questions via email very quickly. Staff were very friendly. Room, shared bathroom and fadcilities were exceptionally clean. Very affordable. Excellent bang for the buck. Staff did not answer phone calls. I tried several numbers and several times.
I choose to stay at Vanderbilt YMCA because it is so convenient and yet does not cost hundreds of dollars a night. After staying there several times over the past four years for up to a week at a time, I may change my mind if the quality continues to decline. Each time I've been, the services have gotten worse. I'm not talking about the 25 year old TVs that are so big they are a predominate feature in the room nor am I talking about the creakiness of the bunk beds when you turn over at night, nor the carpet that hasn't been changed in over a decade. I can live with these for three to six nights (our typical stay). I'm talking about asking for an extra pillow each day for two days and never getting it. I could understand if it was overlooked once but when I didn't get it the first night, I asked again and still didn't get it. In addition, our room was not made up one day until almost 5:00. One day the top bunk was not made up but the sheets just laid on the bed in a bundle. Another night the top bunk sheet was made but the blanket was not put on it. So I will try them again but if the quality of service and attitude of the staff continue to degrade we will not be back.

The room was an efficiancy, small and neat, no need to spend too much time cleaning up!, the trip down the hall to use the bathroom gave me a chance to feel my feet after a long plane and train flight. The staff was nice and easy to talk to and I enjoyed the use of the facilities, particularly the swimming pooo!, Thanks for a Good Time! Hard to keep the bathroom clean, I needed another blanket, and the heater was an air condititioner. I felt a bit chilly!

Simple life, simple place, simple night.
I liked the in-room fridge, the proximity to the subway, and the workout facilities. These were the best things about the place. I didn't like that the staff puts men in rooms next to the women's bathrooms and showers. I also really didn't like that the women's shower room didn't lock properly, which left women vulnerable during their shower time. I checked out after one night because that made me very nervous. The cleaning staff was loud, the front desk staff didn't care about the lock on the shower room door, and only one elevator was working.
