Fordeler: The only thing that was good here was the drop off was quick

Ulemper: There were many issues with the car. First it had over 37,000. miles on it and it was unclean. The gear was sticky, apparently something spilled on it. I went back to the desk in La Guardia and was told that this is the only car they have in the class I have and the upgrade was astronomical. I took the car for 2 weeks and didn't use it for long drives since the back wheel was shaking terribly. I called Hertz a number of times wasting hours of my vacation on the phone, while they were looking for another car in this class. They never got back to me and the phone disconnected a number of times after staying on the phone for up to an hour. I couldn't waste anymore time on this and had friends drive me around and I had to use public transportation. The rubber on the windshield wiper was faulty and left unclear lines during the rain. This was the worst experience I have had with a rented car ever.

Fordeler: Didn’t have the vehicle I reserved, then tried to up sell me to something else.

Ulemper: Vehicle was picked up smelling of cigarettes and marijuana, was noted to the Hertz attendant during initial inspection of vehicle. Had a change of military orders and was told I couldn’t change the drop off location of vehicle. Was then informed I had to pay a $130 fee. Was then informed that a change of location could be made with no charge. Dropped the vehicle off and was then told they had photographical evidence of “fresh ash” in the vehicle and was charged an additional $300 for cleaning fees. Contacted pick up location and was reimbursed as there was no actual ash found in the vehicle and the smell of smoke and marijuana was already noted in initial inspection during pick up.

Ulemper: Price quoted on phone was different than price paid

Ulemper: they lied about pricing, car was full of drugs, smelled, then did not refund as they promised

Ulemper: Need to more clearly state this locations hours and that they do not hold cars for you like other locations
