Fordeler: I usually prefer small, boutique hotels and this is a very large hotel. However, the service and amenities had that personal touch, and the location couldn’t have been better. Incredible breakfast every morning and exceptionally pleasant and helpful people at the front desk. I highly recommend staying here if you’re traveling to Oslo.

Ulemper: My room overlooked another wall, but my friends had a nicer view. It’s what I expected from a big hotel. The only negative and not a big deal since I didn’t spend much time in my room.

Fordeler: Breakfast is very good.... would be nice to have "leverpostei" next time. Nice ambience. We love the hotel and will stay there next time as well

Fordeler: The bathroom was too small as well as the bed was bit too narrow for two full groen persons (normal size)

Fordeler: The breakfast buffet was excellent. Room was well-appointed with wood floors and very nice furniture. Everyone we dealt with on staff was thoroughly professional. The lobby was impressive.

Ulemper: There are a lot of rooms and the hallways all look the same, as do the rooms. No big problem, but if you're looking for somewhere with period charm, you'll be let down.

Ulemper: Litt for smal dobbeltseng. Satte pris på strykebrett og minibar og den hittil heftigste hotelldusjen inkludert badeprodukter!

Fordeler: We were supposed to stay at the Apotek Hote. We arrived early in the morning from an overnight flight from Seattle. The staff was so kind and got us into a room right away at the Bristol Hotel next door. They also wanted us to have a quieter room because of the Pride Celebration that week-end. Loved the location and the kindness of the staff, because I ask a lot of questions. Chris

Fordeler: The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of downtown Oslo. It is a "grande dame" hotel and has a mildly faded classical look to many of the public areas. The rooms have been well renovated and are comfortable and well furnished. Our Bathroom was well modernized if small. Service was excellent and staff friendly and helpful without exception. Breakfast was included and excellent and the special ordered Hot omlette was delicious and perfect.

Ulemper: There are steps to the front door which are a pain as you drag your bag in. Otherwise this hotel suited our purposes perfectly and was great value for monery.

Fordeler: Absolutely delightful hotel. Surprisingly well-equipped rooms for a 4-star hotel: iron and ironboard, hair-drier, water-kettle, small toilettries and even the minibar was not empty. Nice design and atmosphere with tasteful colour matching and fun, yet elegant details in the lobby and rooms. Well-planned ie effective use of space in the rooms accomodated everything, so that even the small room did not seem so small after all.

Ulemper: Had problems with my card by check-in, but the staff wasnt very helpfull and didnt trusted that I had money, so had to go out in the rain for an half hour and calll my bank to get help. Came too late too the only important meeting i was in Oslo for. That was a very choking start of the weekend.

Fordeler: The hotel has a great location, handy for the centre of town. Excellent, friendly and welcoming staff. The hotel and rooms are immaculate. Supper in the evening was tasty and a great addition and the breakfast was amazing, would highly recommend.

Ulemper: We had rooms overlooking the front of the hotel and noise from the bar opposite was a little loud, but not too disruptive.

Fordeler: Spacious room with wooden flooring, clean, bathroom has both a big shower, two spacious sinks and a big bathtub! Temperature was warm and cozy, beds were nice and fluffy, hotel was clean and modern, very central location staff was very friendly.

Ulemper: Only problem is they don’t have a spa inside the hotel :(

Ulemper: The room was a bit small. Not plenty of toiletries for a 4 star hotel.

Fordeler: The friendly staff especially Daphne and Inga. The fabulous breakfast. Having now travelled to most of Europe's Christmas markets for 5 consecutive years, we can definitely confirm that this hotel has the best breakfast offering. We were very happy to find out that a small dinner was also included. Each room had an iron and ironing board, umbrellas, safe, lined writing pad and pen, good lighting, tea and coffee facilities. There were cookies, tea, coffee, glogg, and water at the front desk/lobby.

Fordeler: Breakfast and evening meals were great.

Ulemper: Construction right next to the room on the other side wall next to the bed two of the three nights we stayed there woke us up much earlier than we would have preferred. Internet access was extremely spotty at best.

Fordeler: From the moment we checked in, to the moment we picked our luggage up, after storing it after check out, we couldn't have asked for a more accommodating, or friendly staff. We were there for our 32nd anniversary, and when we checked in, they upgraded our room to a suite. The location was great, and the view out our room was looking down on the Christmas market. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great and the selection of food was excellent. I miss my cafe latte's every morning, now that I'm home. A small meal was also provided every evening. We didn't eat there every evening, but it was a nice alternative. Especially if we had been out all day and were feeling like just relaxing in the evening. Great Asian restaurant next door, quick walk to the water, or to the shopping areas, and the National Theater station. When we checked out, we were able to leave our bags until we were ready to pick them up. Absolutely great location and if I go back to Oslo, I will definitely stay there again.

Ulemper: Only complaint I had was there was a band playing at a club or restaurant somewhere near by, and you could hear it until at least 2:00 in the morning. It's just one of those things in a city, so certainly not something I would criticize the hotel for. The bathroom was a little small, but had everything we needed.

Fordeler: I nærheten av flyplassen, 10 minutters gange unna. I nærheten av toget 5 minutters gange. Gratis transport til flyplassen. Taxi til sentralstasjonen var billig, 160 kroner. Rommene er rene. Sengen var behagelig.

Ulemper: Frokosten var ikke inkludert i rommet, 99 kroner ekstra. Dusjen var lite. Så lite, jeg holdt de går på kontroll for varmt og kaldt vann.

Ulemper: Bedroom with 3 bunk beds with 2 levels. Small room for 6!! Reception was a SERIOUS hassle - they keep the main entrance door unlocked when there's no one there to check if it is a stranger. MY ROOM WAS INVADED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT BY AN AWFUL OLD NORWEGIAN MAN WHO THREATENED ME BY USING FOUL LANGUAGE WHEN I LIFTED UP MY HEAD TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE BEDROOM. IT WAS ABOUT 3 AM!! I WOKE UP TO THIS CHAOS IN THE BEDROOM! TURNED OUT THE MAN HAD STAYED IN THE BEDROOM 2 NIGHTS BEFORE. HE HAD TAKEN THE ENTRANCE CARD WITH HIM SO HE SNEAKED IN THE HOTEL WITHOUT BEING NOTICED AND DOING THE CHECK-IN, THEN HE WENT BACK INTO THE BEDROOM HE HAD STAYED 2 DAYS BEFORE!!THERE WERE 3 OTHER GUESTS THERE - 3 YOUNG ASIANS.THE ASIAN GIRL TOLD THE MAN TO LEAVE! I REPORTED THE CASE AT THE RECEPTION IN THE MORNING AND WAS SHOCKED AT THE REACTION OF THE YOUNG AFRICAN WOMAN WHO, AT FIRST, TOLD ME THEY WERE DEACTIVATING THE CARDS AND REACTIVATING AGAIN (SHE ASKED ME TO RETURN MY CARD TO DO THESE PROCESSES) ONLY AFTER THE INCIDENT HAPPENED!!! WHEN I ASKED AFTER THE FOOTAGE OF THE INTERNAL CAMERAS, SHE GUARANTEED THE ENTRANCE DOORS REMAIN LOCKED AFTER 10 PM. (NOT TRUE. I ARRIVED AT 11 PM AND WALKED INTO THE HOTEL AND THERE WAS A NOTE SAYING ''WE WILL BE BACK SOON''. A RECEPTIONIST CAME AFTER A WHILE TO DO MY CHECK-IN ) SO SHE VICTIMIZED HERSELF MAKING A DRAMA BY SAYING SHE HAD HAD A 'TOUGH SHIFT' THAT NIGHT AND PRETENDED TO BE VERY UPSET, LEAVING ME SHOCKED AND COMPLETELY HELPLESS! TO MAKE THINGS MORE WEIRD AND UPSETTING HER COLLEAGUE, A YOUNG NORWEGIAN MAN, RUSHED TO THE OFFICE, AT THE RECEPTION, TO 'COMFORT' HER, IGNORING ME COMPLETELY! I CALLED HIM TO ASK FOR AN EXPLANATION AND HE STARTED TO INTERROGATE ME WITH QUESTIONS LIKE " WHY DIDN'T YOU COME DOWN RIGHT AWAY TO LET US KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING?" I ANSWERED "I WAS TOO SCARED, MY HEART POUNDING, TO MOVE!" HOW ARROGANT!! SUCH AN IDIOT NORWEGIAN! SHAME!

Fordeler: The staff there are so kind , they offer me many useful information about traveling and it is in a good location that you can easily find. Since it is a nice hotel and I plan to live here next summer to enjoy a wonderful time in Oslo! Norway is the most beautiful country I ever travelled to, and I love it!!

Ulemper: Metallkøyesenga knirker og madrassen er ganske tynn.

Fordeler: Great hotel close to the railway station. Room was fairly small, but very clean and nice decor. Very nice breakfast and evening meal included in the price.

Ulemper: Would’ve been useful to have somewhere to hang a jacket or shirt.

Fordeler: Super friendly staff, not only breakfast but a generous dinner included as well. Internet speed higher than our nbn in Australia (60 down and 90 up). I like their efforts to reduce waste, both with reminders in the restaurant to “Take what you want but eat what you take” and with large soap wall dispensers in the shower and next to the basin. Bed is super comfy. The hotel provided a Bose Bluetooth speaker to connect to. Room is adequately sized, shower is nice. Could not really fault this hotel.

Ulemper: The wine selection is rubbish and both wine and beer are very expensive for what they are, but that’s mostly Norway I think

Fordeler: Great location, room very clean and staff friendly - and super value with free breakfast and supper. Food was high quality.

Fordeler: The breakfast is fantastic and even though lots of complaints about the dinner, it's fine and good as a little freebie. People have said it's not vegetarian friendly - it is, but it's a selection of salads, fruit and cheese and then a non-vegetarian hot meal with side. I'm a vegetarian and this was absolutely fine, salad and vegetables and on the odd night they had soups that were fine as well. It's all served in a lovely way and lots of nibbles to grab to snack on and try! We were checked in by some VERY handsome and friendly men, who gave us a very lovely room - it didn't have a view but we were also very central Oslo so can't complain!

Ulemper: Wines and drinks could be a little bit more affordable so that you want to stay and have a drink (the common room is nice and we had one early night) but this seems to be the theme in Norway. We didn't get toiletries in our room, so that would have been nice - I think just a cleaning error and not a big deal in comparison to how nice everything is.

Fordeler: A lot of choice for breakfast.

Ulemper: A bit noisy because of works inside the hotel.

Ulemper: The staff was very irregular about cleaning up the room. The reception was very unhelpful about the invoice and receipt. The room rates came out differently for each day, and there was no plausible explanation for that, even to someone who travels quite frequently around the world. The beds were too narrow a la Scandinavian style.

Ulemper: Litt støy fra veien. Er ikke vant til byliv. Veldig varmt på rommet på natta.

Fordeler: I liked the location, the room was quite nice

Ulemper: Breakfast was quite simple with not a lot to choose from, the food was all the time cold, thst was a disappointment

Fordeler: The room was comfortable but no frills. It is very close to the main Oslo train station (Oslo S) so we easily walked or caught buses, trains, and trams to wherever we needed to go. The room included breakfast and the breakfast buffet was very good (fairly typical of European breakfast buffets, but - still - very good). The staff is friendly and speaks English well. It was easy to leave our bags in the locked self-storage room while we traveled overnight to see the fjords.

Fordeler: Free evening meal and good quality of food served for breakfast. The room is spacious, clean and functional, quality of the bed is very good and comfortable. Toilet is bright and clean, all amenities were provided well. Check-in process is fast and they do provide free fruits, snacks and also a coffee machine at the lobby. Conveniently located in the city and main attractions are walk-able from the hotel. Services by the hotel staff were attentive and friendly.

Fordeler: Beligenheten var avgjørende da jeg skulle ta tog tidlig om morgenen, dette hotellet lå i umiddelbar nærhet til Oslo S. Så å komme seg til toget var bare noen minutter. Det var stor og god overraskelse over hvor veganvennlig frokosten på hotellet var her. Eneste som manglet, eller som jeg ikke fant var vegansk smør, men at de hadde vegansk ost og vegansk skinke var et stort pluss

Fordeler: Stille og rolig hotell, pent og dellikat interiør, veldig hyggelig personale, god frokost, gode senger, «alt man trenger».

Ulemper: Vi opplevde både denne gangen og forrige gang at det var kaldt på rommet, og vanskelig å regulere varmen. Skulle ønske at det var to gode stoler på rommet. Undersøkte i forkant om spa/massasje, men det var fullt, dessverre.

Fordeler: Breakfast choice was great. Location good.

Ulemper: Car park costs were extortionate. Rooms gloomy and hard to control temperature and lighting. Overall costs far too high, Norway is expensive but this was way too much for us.

Ulemper: Ikke mye. Men en liten enkel ting som var litt irriterendes:) det er den lommen som romkortet ligger oppi. Veldig vanskelig å få kortet oppi igjen

Ulemper: The plates in the breakfast area weren’t washed properly which put me off eating much of the food.

Ulemper: Frokosten var ikke dekket ferdig på kl 06:30. Eggene var kalde og kaffen glovarm. Når den endelig kunne drikkes var den smakløs. Drikke var ikke satt frem så det måtte jeg be om. Treningsrom er heller dårlig utrustet og var dårlig rengjort.

Fordeler: The hotel is really nice, modern, luxurious. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of choices. Location could not be better.

Ulemper: The dominant color is black. This is very elegant, but it is quite dark. I like bright colors, so that part I did not like so much. The bar did not serve any peanuts or crisps with the drinks. This must be improved. The way to the underground parking of The Thief could be described better. You need to know that you have to enter the Tjuvholmen underground parking first which is the only way to reach - through a tunnel - the hotel and its own underground parking. This was really confusing and the GPS was no help at all! With all that it is offering, The Thief is still too expensive. But this is Oslo, I guess...

Fordeler: Great staff, all are very helpful from reception to the breakfast staff and room cleaner. Location is excellent, trams nearby, quiet location and plenty of restaurants and sights to visit.

Fordeler: everything were very good. The location was good for traveller-very close to Royal Palace and downtown. Room was spacious and clean. Staffs were very friendly.

Fordeler: Fra mottagelsen i døren av mannen med bowlerhatten til innsjekking og overnatting så var alt til 10 i stil og gjennomført til fingerspissene. En fantastisk opplevelse.

Ulemper: Litt vel varmt på rommet da jeg kom men det lot seg lett regulere. Likte ikke at jeg ikke kunne bli lengre ;)

Fordeler: The location of the hotel is very good for sightseeing. We looked at the map and decided to walk directly from the "National Theater Train Station" to the hotel and it worked out. The stuff was also super friendly and very helpful. We have nothing to complain. ALL GOOD!!!!

Fordeler: Very nice hotel, efficient staff. The highlight is the breakfast... amazing!

Ulemper: The rooms were hot and stuffy, even with heating off and window open

Fordeler: The hotel is right opposite Vinterland markets. All staff were helpful and friendly and we sat in the bar for hours; it was so nice. The breakfast was incredible.

Ulemper: The beds (twin) were very small and whilst the shower was hot, the water was just dripping out really - no pressure at all. For the price I think I would expect better beds and shower.

Fordeler: Hotel is very nice - very clean and good general service. Staff is very helpful and the atmosphere is generally very good. Rooms are really nice.

Ulemper: SPA costs 25 euro per day on weekends for hotel guests ridiculous. The bar upstairs (eight) has no coffee or tea.

Fordeler: Location was great. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was well-appointed. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

Ulemper: Standard King Room contained only a queen size bed, and 1/3rd of our 7th floor room was unuseable due to the rooftop angle. As it was a busy week (Nobel Prize week), we were told no other rooms were available for us, although we are aware of at least one couple with our group that were moved to another room during our stay.

Fordeler: Delikate rom, deilige senger, rent.

Ulemper: Frokost kunne vært inkludert romprisen, Ikke som tillegg.

Ulemper: Not clean, bad services, it was scam cause I choose this hotel for the pool cause there is nothing open in Oslo at Christmas and the pool was closed !!!!! For the 3 days I was here. Nobody previous, even the night when I arrived the personnel at pool said to me that it’s open from 8am to 9 pm. The room was not really clean! When I checked out nobody ask if I had a good time in hotel no satisfaction questionnaire I never saw that before. The breakfast is good and the barman is cool but even at restaurant whe ask for a table and they said « sorry we are full! » ther was maximum 60% table occuped incredible

Fordeler: This hotel has one of Oslo's prime locations, with the hotel itself forming a point of reference along the Karl Johan - Oslo's main pedestrian stretching from the Royal castle and all the way down to Oslo Central Station.

Ulemper: This hotel can get busy with a lot more going on than just accommodating for its overnight guests. Hence, when you are heading for breakfast or one of the bars or restaurants you'll often find that you are in a crowded place.
