Ulemper: Rooms had issues. Although well furnished & comfortable, the first room was above the subway so really disruptive until after midnight, with trains every few minutes, making sleep almost impossible. We asked to be moved & the second room was somewhat below ground level. The windows were set very high, they overlooked the air conditioning unit for the kitchen & therefore lacked any view, let alone natural light. I might stay at the hotel again but only if I could speak to reservations regarding the room.

Ulemper: Hotel was on the tail end of renovations and handover to new owner. Not a big deal but did take away from the overall feel of hotel at ground level.

It is charming and elegant with rooms large and comfortable by any standard and the staff are extraordinary, There's hardly a time in the last 20 years, that the Landmark has not been my "go to" location during the annual trips I try to make to London.

Lokalet var verken romantisk eller hyggelig. Hotellet fortjener en bedre restaurant. Gå heller til Taormina, italiensk restaurant 3 min unna. Fantastisk service og vin. Maten er som forventet i den prisklassen. Rimelig og god valuta for pengene!

Fordeler: I liked the location you are about 10 minutes walking from all the shopping places, the staff was nice and helpful i actually forgot my Phone in the lobby once and got back to get it and thankfully the staff were so generous to have got it and kept it for me.
Ulemper: The room needed to be cleaned better, There was a piece of chocolate wrap underneath the curtain which was from previous guests and no one took it out. They gave me a floor towel for the toilet which had black stains on it which looked like it was from a shoe or something.

Et av vinduene på rommet viste seg å være blendet. Ikke mulig med frokost kl 07.00 på søndag. Innsjekk via app fungerte ikke. Vi fikk beskjed om at rommet var gitt noen andre. Noe som senere viste seg å ikke stemme. Brukte 20 minutter på innsjekk. Romnøkkelen virket kun i et døgn. Unødvendig å bruke 15 minutt på å fikse dette.

HOWEVER when we came over to the hotel, the receptionist informed us that all rooms with garden view is occupied. This is a lack of credibility!

I forgot to take one luggage from the room and until I ask them after few hours then they checked and telling yes they are keeping. I saw the bag is unlock and when I ask they said no lock. So upset. Also the hostel is cleaned everyday. The internet is strong and only in the common areas which was nice to see lots of people and socialize I stayed at the time where the hot water heater had problems and the hostel refunded 50% of the cost, I liked their effort

We could leave luggage before checking in and after checking out in the dedicated room which also has lockers. I'd definitely recommend for low budget families and backpackers. There's Tesco Express and Sainsbury nearby. The bedroom was adapted for wheelchair in case of need. Solid bunk beds that don't shake when someone moved.

Ulemper: I would just like in kitchen to offer some free things like tea or sugar, paid breakfast could improve their coffee (too watery) and add cheese at least, for these two reasons I didn´t buy it after first day, but they advise you to look first and pay if you like so it is not like you don´t know what are you paying for Like it was said here before, windows can´t be opened and in warm weather it would make dificult to sleep there, fans will not help much.

Ulemper: Majority of the staff are helpful and friendly but there is an area for improvement. For example one male staff of indian decent usually didn’t like to help find solution for any problem and put blame on guest or just avoid responsibility.

Ulemper: Not enough warm water on the 1st night for the 6 of us. Wi-Fi in bedrooms is not intended to be available (only in common areas like reception and kitchen). Bathroom was a bit smelly and sink tiny.

Ulemper: We stayed in an Executive room with access to the Lounge where breakfast was free. And as the old adage goes.... you get what you pay for ! The eggs were inedible and other food seemed stale. No bottles of water / diet soda in the lounge. Over an 8 night stay, we ate there ONCE. There was LOUD renovation noise all day long. The room requires more lighting and the decor seems very dated. Housekeeping needs help - some days they replaced the hand towels, some days they didnt. Some days the room wasnt turned down till past 6 pm. We had an important package delivered to the hotel - left with the Concierge. On checking, they said they had not received it. We followed up the next day and they "found it". Apologized for not delivering it earlier. Overall, the Concierge service is condescending at best.

Ulemper: YES ! THE BED !!! I am still nursing an injured knee. The bed was too big for the room plus it had a frame which took up even more space from the room. Other than that it was a comfortable mattress and nice quiet room.

Ulemper: NOT good value. NOT anybody's fault. It's very difficult for even big name hotels to compete anymore in the historical, traditional locations. Mayfair is Georgian period, latest Victorian. Rooms are small. Noisy. Lifts cramped and shaking. Corridors dark. Thin line between ye olde quaint and 'old dump. Modern hotels win EVERY TIME. Regret breakfast very poor - Gordon Ramsay would be embaressed with his own restaurant in the mornings.

Ulemper: The reception in 1st floor rather than ground floor is very inconvenient. There’s an elevator but they don’t tell you about it. So you see residents go down the stairs with luggage but no one tells them where the lift is hidden. Breakfast is very modest and cheap. The concierge doesn’t answer the phone. Also reception takes few calls to answer.

The night manger that was on the clock at the time, helped us and arranged a cab with reasonable price which saved us from a tedious journey. Ulemper: The hotel moved its check in hour to 3 pm. This can be quite late for travelers like me, who arrive by early morning flights and then have to wander around before getting to their room. Also, the breakfast used to be richer (more variety), but the food is still fresh and of good quality.

Ulemper: The vent was always on, which I presume is to ventilate the room considering it was on the basement floor. So although it did no bother me, a light sleeper might find it slightly noisy. You can hear the tube from outside when it passes by, and the room shakes a little when it happens, but again it did not bother me.

Ulemper: I got a room on the lower floors, the room smelled stale, was a long walk away from the elevator and when I went to request a change I got attitude from the front desk staff Ana-Maria. I literally wanted to cancel and leave unfortunately as I had booked through booking.com I was told I needed to take that up with them. I asked for a room on a higher floor and was told she would only change my room if I either went back up and got my luggage or waited 30-40 mins for a concierge to help me. I was so upset. I went back up, gor my luggage and came back down. PS why dont they keep extra bottles of water in the room for your use?

The staff was friendly, and the bedding was clean in the hostel. The showers had warm water and seemed to be cleaned on a somewhat regular basis. The bar area is open to you 24 hours a day, though the kitchen closes at 10 and the bar closes to the public at midnight.
Beyond that, you can't beat the location in terms of it being a launching point for getting around the city. You are on several bus lines and three different tube lines. You are also only a mile's walk from Hyde park on a main road that is well lit, even at night.

My rromate actually booked from 11-15 Sept but she checked out on the 12 Sept due to the room is too small. Not as per in the picture shown. My room is a Female Room for 3 pax but during the last night.....middle of the night, me & another lady from Brazil were awaken when the hostel staff came in to our room & asked whether we mind having a guy to stay in our room....since it was after midnight & both of us are checking out the next morning...we have agreed but if we were to check out later....we will not allow as this room is stated for FEMALE ONLY.

Ulemper: First off, if you are a light sleeper, don't choose this hostel. It is on a highly-used road and the windows will be open in the room. If you wake up at every horn or siren, you will not have a good time sleeping here. In addition to that, the larger rooms have 24 people, so you can expect them to be coming and going at all hours, some quietly, some not (which also means your experience is not 100% on the hostel staff). Bar noise was non-existent, so don't worry about that.
The breakfast was a bit of a zoo, and a bit of a disappointment. They had loaves of bread with a toaster (butter and jam), some cereal and milk. There was also tea and coffee. It was pretty well picked over by 8:15, and the staff was too busy cleaning the bar to replace anything. To that end, the staff in the hostel always seemed to be stretched too thin. People are working the hostel front desk and the bar at the same time. They are not mean about it, but if you catch it wrong, you can end up waiting a bit to be helped. There were also a few people who were sleeping in the hallway at times, though I was not sure if they were just too drunk to remember their passcodes or had snuck in. Also, I never saw any semblance of a manager for either the bar or the hostel (not that I ever needed one).
The cleanliness of the rooms and the bathrooms left something to be desired, the rooms especially. Though I didn't spend much time in them, there was usually some crumbs / scraps of wrappers on the floor, which did not feel clean even when those larger pieces of rubbish were not there. This comes back to you experience being tied to the people you are in the room with however. In particular, there was one person who's luggage smelled like a college student's laundry bin that had been left to sit during the winter break, in-short, really bad.
My final warning would be that there are not a lot of power outlets in the rooms, and there are only two bathrooms to accommodate 50+ people, as opposed to 4 showers.

Fordeler: Great location if you are attending any event in Hyde Park. Complimentary breakfast: just pastries, fruit and coffee in the lounge. There is no other dining on site, but loads near by. Great staff, all very helpful and welcoming. We had a fantastic room, spacious and we'll equipped. Room was quiet even though we were at the heart of London.

Ulemper: The room wasn’t ready when we arrived at after 4pm. Then the receptionist told us he didn’t know When the room would be ready, not long hopefully, so we used a friends room to get ready and to leave our luggage as we had dinner plans. When we arrived back at the hotel after 9pm, we were told our room was ready. We went to our room which was clearly under renovation, dirty, unmade bed empty drink cartons and rubbish all over the bathroom floor. We went back to reception and the receptionist was unaware of the filthy room or that it was getting renovated. Room2 on another floor, no air conditioning, broken and when the maintenance guy came he said the hotel was aware but told him to show his face to keep the customer happy. What a diabolical way to treat paying customers. I WON’T BE RECOMMENDING YOUR HOTEL, YOUR ONLY INTERESTED IN MY MONEY NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE- SHAME ON YOU.

Ulemper: No water bottle refill available on the ground floor (although there was an ice machine). We were given free water in plastic bottles though. I tried to phone the hotel several times the day before our arrival, but was unable to get through.

Ulemper: It is very shabby - not unclean per se, but forlorn and uncared-for. Some of the staff were friendly, but most indifferent. They seemed overworked.

Ulemper: The staff were not welcoming, when I checked out the receptionist didn't not say good morning or good bye, they did not speak to me. When I arrived back after an evening out about 12 30, the receptionist didn't even look up and say good evening. The decorated is badly in need of a lick of paint, very dated and dirty. The mattress on my bed was completely shot, the springs were gone.

Ulemper: The furniture old and in very bad conditions. Scratches on the furnitures, paper on walls broken and dirty, cover of the lamp broken and very dirty. No mini bar in then room and not even a bottle of water. Wi fi very low and not often working. Really not possible to work if you need to.
