While the yellow carpet in the halls is a bit dated and worn, the rest of the Stanford court is updated, quirky, and fun. The staff is great, and the location is only half a block from the top of nob hill. Great weekend escape.
The location and our room size No complaints
Nice location Slow service from check in to check out Uncomfortable beds (pillows were worn flat, requested new ones and got two more flat/worn out pillows) Towel was dirty (not stained--it had actual chips of dirt on it) slow wifi Very low quality food
Good location I had stayed there many years ago when the hotel was a 5 star property and was disappointed to see that it was now a 3 star.
I liked the lady at check in helping resolve an issue with billing. Somehow, the hotel reservations people decided I should pay for an extra night when I had cancelled that night the previous week. The lady at check in was very helpful and was able to resolve the issue, but I was disappointed I had the issue in the first place. It was not clear to me why this happened. The room was nice - but quite expensive in my opinion.
It was clean, well-appointed, in a great, central location, comfortable & staffed with friendly, welcoming, helpful staff. They even had a phone/MP3 dock w/ speakers & alarm by the bed, which was really nice & handy. As with most SF hotels the price is a little steep, but more reasonable than many. The cable cars were a little noisy, but didn't really bother us. Valet was over $50 for 24 hrs, but that's kinda how it goes in SF.
Friendly staff, great location (walking distance to most attractions), comfy beds and updated overall. Needed spa after some gruelling walks (need to be fit to get around) or simply jump on cable cars outside hotel ;). Although We found city pricy, hotel food offerings were excessive to say the least (no room service either?)Management has to know within walking distance are some great options for meals that are easier on your wallet.
The location is wonderful, the bed was good No one answered the valet parking phone three days in a row. No room service. A beer glass sat in the hallway for two days without being picked up. Kitschy "hipster" feel.
Steve, one of the staff members, was very friendly and helpful. Aside from that, nothing. Nearly everything. The rest of the staff seemed unimpressed with the hotel themselves and in fact mocked the hotel for intentionally using "false advertising" to lure customers into staying there. Upon arriving we received a "complimentary upgrade," which off the batt seemed wonderful, but once we entered the room we were appalled; we couldn't even imagine what our original room would have looked like. When I called down to complain about the striking difference from the pictures on the website the woman at the front desk replied that what I saw online was called "photoshop." The room was spacious, but empty; there was no headboard, safe or amenities. The hotel offered nothing, but rooms and was not the kind of place you looked forward to returning to at the end of a long day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I would never return myself. For a couple hundred dollars more I could have stayed at the nicest hotel in San Francisco. This hardly ranks with the top hotels in the city, despite its high prices and false four star advertising online.
Liked the location and how nicely appointed the hotel was
Mood Took too long to check-in
Very comfortable bed. Free wifi. Good gym. Very friendly staff and they sell oddities water for $1 a bottle. A little bit dated interior
Elegant, stylish, tasteful, and somehow affordable! Felt proud to stay in such a beautiful space. Loved the clean, but modernized antique details, soothing colors, and the fact that the overall look was not as overdone/over designed as many other hotels in which I have stayed. Proves that style need not cost $400 a night! No competition in my book in this price range for as stylized a place as this hotel happens to be. I would gladly skip some of the other 4 star amenities such as a pool or super large lobby to stay somewhere this lovely and reflective of my own lifestyle. Thank goodness I didn't have to stay in a big bland box hotel chain with cherry furniture and 1990 floral print bedspreads! My vacation was so much better as a result. My room was a bit warm - no matter how many times we turned down the heat, but as a result we slept like babies! To be fair, I never even told the staff about it, so they didn't even know.
The decor, location were exceptional and even though the renovations weren't complete it didn't detract from our stay. The happy hour at reception was a great idea. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great location, very helpful and accommodating staff. The room was a little on the small side for the price.
The friendly helpful staff, especially Joel and Grant working on reception. The Manager's wine time allowed us to engage with other guests, this helped us tom enjoy our visit. The central heating system in the suite was problematic and we had to ask for assistance twice, the spitting hot water burned my hand on one attempt to turn the heating up!
Loved the complimentary wine hour and friendly staff!
All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Modern decor, well renovated. Outdoor park area was a nice touch. Room was small. Space was tight. Since it was just me, this wasn't a problem.
Very clean; very helpful staff; the wine tasting is a marvelous lagniappe, led to new friendships; location excellent; price very reasonable; would recommend to anyone!
convenience Our room is facing the street, therefore it was too noisy while sleeping
Galleria Park staff were friendly, welcoming, and accomodating. The room was bright, clean, and comfortable. The staff did get a little frazzled at the front desk with the large volume of guests for the weekend. There was only one HDMI cable available for the entire hotel and it was taken for the duration of my stay.
Friendly staff, free very good wine between 5:30 and 6:30 PM No eating facilities
Quite, clean, comfortable. Charged sales tax for honor bar when we never used the honor bar.
It is a good hotel in a good location. The price I paid was higher for the standard of the hotel. Staff
I loved how the hotel is located in a convenient area; we easily jumped on a cable car to Fishermans Wharf. The staff was professional and helpful. This hotel is a true 5 star luxury hotel. nothing. It was fantastic!
Very clean hotel with an excellent staff.
The attention that most of the staff display for you The wait time in the dinning room
Great service. Excellent facilities. Great room
Loved the location to union square and rooms were clean and comfortable
Perfect location, clean, friendly staff, a perfect get away weekend...and as advertised, the best breakfast in town.
We liked the location the most, right at the corner of Union square and a block away from Chinatown, the Hop on/Hop off bus had a few stops around Union square. The staff was always friendly, the fruit and water we received upon arrival and the turn down service every night are also nice touches. Housekeeping was attentive. Upon arrival our room didn't smell really fresh, but couldn't say it was dirty. The windows can be opened however, so you can let fresh air in. The closet space is really small, but we didn't mind taking the clothes out of our suitcases. We thought the room was quite small, but maybe that was because we just came from a hotel suite in Vegas. You could also hear all the street noise (windows closed) and the neighbours easily, it seems the walls are thin. When housekeeping knocked on the door of the room next to us, it sounded like they knocked on our door.
Very upscale, attentive to guests. There are better values at comparable hotels.
Location is perfect. Room is clean and well decorated. Stuff is nice. No internet in the room and the valet parking is very expensive 57USD.
Location, furnishings (wonderfully comfortable beds!), friendly staff
The hotel is very comfortable and the staff is top-notch. Even though the lobby is small that is insignificant since no one goes to a hotel to hang out in the lobby. The beds are very comfortable and the room is turned down every night.
Very comfortable room and bed, clean, nice design, excellent service, personnel available and helpful, perfect location right next to Union Square easy access to restaurants, waterfront, shopping, and transportation to the rest of the city I think the hotel can be compared to others of the same level, I did not find a special feeling to it or unique features, however my stay was very pleasant and would consider again
the location is excellent, right at the gates to Chinatown. close to everything.
Bed was comfortable and really good location. Expensive parking for valet. And no parking at all if you don't do it. After we came back from the day out. We came into our room and noticed that A) the door was not shit tight. And B) when we got in it smelled Like somebody had just taken an extended bathroom break. Which was awful. I immediately called customer service and though the guy was nice he was not able to get in touch with any managers. I was supposed to get a call the next day which I still hadn't heard from anybody till I was checking out. They called the manager for me. Who offered 50$ off which I still haven't seen on my credit card bill. Was a bit unfortunate really.
Friendly staff We were moved from Orchard garden to another Orchard hotel on the same street due to overbooking.
Friendly and helpful staff, decent room size and close to the Chinatown entrance gate at Grand Street. The room was clean ( didn`t trust the carpet though ). The carpet in our room needs a replacement. We have been hold up by the night porter singing far to loud at this time of day when we left in the morning at 05:45.
Unable to turn off a/c. Gave details to staff.
Rooms felt spacious, beds were super comfortable and had a very refreshing feel to them Had breakfast only in their restaurants. Choice of items very good, quality good but much more attention needed to replenishing of items. Customer service was lacking in that they did not notice when you came to restaurants, empty tables were either not cleared, or cleared tables did not have cutltery. This restaurant part of the hotel seemed like such a contrast to the excellent service received from Front Desk and housekeeping.
Very convenient location to China Town, cable cars, and shopping district. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Made for a very nice weekend get-a-way.
The location is good and the hotel is clean and cheerful and unpretentious yet comfortable The room is very small and the rooms all have no views. The outdoor terrace is very small and sunny so hard to use. Not a lot of comfortable public space. An ok hotel in a convenient area.
Great location, boutique type hotel, great bedding, crispy clean and free wifi, what else is there to ask? I commend this hotel and recommend it without reserves. I am very very picky and difficult guest but I stroke gold with this one, Kudos! Pricing may be a tad high.
Central Location, Nice light breakfast, good clean modern rooms, friendly staff and great value. Not being able to use mini bar/fridge for colling of own drinks.
location and convenience to the China District and shopping no spa service
Hotel was clean and staff was super friendly. They all were super helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were very quiet and the restaurant in the hotel was very delicious!
Location and Gym
Accommodating staff, comfortable bed and great location. A short walk to the ferry terminal and Montgomery BART station. Windows are thin - the clang of the trolley bell was clearly audible despite the fact the our window faced Montgomery, not California Street (where the trolley runs).
Location and relaxing after event evening just downstairs from room. Resteraunt not open late enough.
We were in town for the marathon and it was a fantastic base for our adventures. They allowed us to check in early when we arrived in town. They let us check out late so we could shower after the race! The staff were kind, friendly, and very accommodating. It was within walking distance of everything we needed and easy access to public transit. Don't forget to sign up for the loyalty program!
Very nice hotel, probably standard for this class, the Omni was well situated for easy access to Chinatown, the financial district and not too far from shopping and the waterfront. Staff were often helpful and politely friendly. I appreciated the advice from the doorman and concierge. I don't much care for being charged for in room wif and a better front desk experience would improve my rating.
staff was very accommodating and helpful. It was a wonderful experience. nothing.
Charged me for parking but I did not have a car. Also charged me for internet after they said it would be complimentary
All staff were helpful & friendly. For leisure travel not the best location
The staff was wonderful. My granddaughter was able to do her studies while I was in class. She was able to do this while looking out a window at the beautiful scenery thanks to the nice people we met while we ate breakfast. I thought the staff was great along with the great training I had for my business. I would like to stay there again. It was hard to drive to because the roads were being worked on. It took us a little longer to arrive than I had planned.
The views were gorgeous! I wish it had a pool, or at least a hot tub, or steam room. I could hear through the walls...other guests etc. It was noisy.
All the hotel staff was very friendly, courteous and accomodating. The Wifi at the hotel was very spotty. It was in and out and made it difficult to use my laptop in the room.
The room was fantastic and the staff was great.
The staff were very professional .
Lovely room with plenty of plugs for laptops, etc. Refrigerator and coffee maker. Room also had separate "dressing table" area AND a full bathroom; perfect for a couple! Parking rates absurd. Found a much cheaper garage on our own.
Convenient location. Beautiful view of San Francisco
Location Seemed like it was more fore business stays.
I honestly don't have nothing really good to say I booked a double room with 2 beds I get I queen bed couldn't even get a roll away we slept so uncomfortable it was the worst experience I had in a hotel I told the staff and they told me a manager would call me the next morning Bt never did worst hotel experience ever
La ubicación del hotel El personal de la recepción no es amable ni amigable con los huéspedes.
Thanks to everyone but Patricia and Usha were so amazing and pleasant N/A
The location was convenient, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. For such an expensive stay, there were few amenities. Traveling with an infant, it was very inconvenient not to have a fridge or microwave in the room. We ended up ordering a bottle warmer from Amazon Now because there was no other way to warm his bottle. Also, the internet connectivity was poor. The parking fee was very high. .
Clean room and comfortable bed. Limited fitness center
Good view. Bed a bit soft.
Staff was nice helped out with everything I needed. Breakfast was good. Rooms clean and comfortable. If you are indecisive about hotels go with this one....won't be disappointed Being that it was super bowl weekend price was out of control
Beds were comfy, gym small, food in restaurant was tasty. Outdated showers, expensive food and room service, small gym.
The view is the only thing we enjoyed. Horrible customer service. My fiancé and I were treated very poorly and when I talked to the manager Jeff, he was very apathetic. We asked for 2 bowls from Jeff later on and they never came. I had to go down to the front desk to grab the bowls myself. We also needed assistance with the television and no one ever came to help. If you are looking for a place where you are ignored and treated poorly for $200 plus a night then is your place. I am astounded that a place like the Hilton could hire such an awful manager as Jeff.
Great Location and professional staff. Small rooms, no small cooler for beverages in room. Small bed the size of a double. No room for toiletries in bathroom. I requested a quiet room and was given one right next to the elevator, go figure.
The view was amazing and it was centrally located. The wifi was not free and I was bumped from a room with double beds to a room with a single bed. I would have been okay with the change if I had been notified beforehand or been compensated somehow.
Customer service was outstanding.
Everyone was amazing! Jonathan the bartender, patrick the bellman, everyone! They made my boyfriends birthday very special. This is the best hotel in SF. Thank you to the entire staff. Nothing because everything was awesome!
They need to add a salon that has someone there to do hair blow outs for customers staying at the Ritz.
Great views and convenient location!
Because we booked through the AMEX Fine Hotels program, we were upgraded to room with a truly fantastic view of North Beach, the bay, and the Bay Bridge; we were comp'ed breakfasts; and we got 5 nights for the price of 4. The hotel is in the financial district, which is very quiet on weekends.
Upgraded to a suite for free. All staff very friendly and helpful
The location and the comfort of the beds were great. There were a few things that could be improved upon: 1. There were union protesters outside of the hotel before 7 AM each day with megaphones, and each day, it took over an hour for the police to come by to put a stop to the noise-making. The hotel could at the very least have provided earplugs. 2. The rooms, while clean, look a bit dated and dark. 3. There were not enough reception staff to handle the flow of guests, leading to long wait times.
Very friendly staff, fast check-in, excellent, safe and central location, beautiful design, stylish spacious rooms, beautiful views. Close to bart, cable car, malls and landmarks. And free illy coffee to top it off.
All of the hotel itself. The parking situation. Very very expensive $$$
Location The bed and pillows. Not comfortable at all. Parking was too expensive. Although they did offer a garage to park for $30/day which I should have done.
It was disappointing not to be provided free internet.
Location Downtown Hotel parking Incredible expensive
We arrive 2 hours before check-in time and we got the room without any problem.
The beds were extremely comfortable and the location was nice. On November 20th, my girlfriend and I decided to take a weekend trip to San Francisco and stayed at Le Meridien. Upon arrival, the parking situation threw us for a loop as we drove into their structure that apparently is no longer in service. Frustrating, but we eventually figured it out. The hotel itself was nice and the first night sleep was great! Nice views of the all buildings, super comfy bed and overall very spacious. The second night however...very different story. We came back to our room(2103) around midnight from a great night out. We could hear the people next to us in the Sydney Cove Suite(2104) who had a few guests over. They were a little noisy but it didn't bother us at the time. Around 230AM, I was woken up to "extra curricular activities"....(Wink wink cough cough). Okay...just a couple enjoying their night together like any other couple would...we all do it, no big deal. But this wasn't normal (we very quickly realized there were more than 2 people still in that room...) and it happened again and again and again...and again.Precisely that many times until 530AM!! Not only were they blasting their music still, but the walls were so thin, we could hear EVERYTHING. Very disturbing and very disgusting. After the first hour and a half trying to block out the sounds (which was impossible) we called the front desk who initially was less than helpful. The first call we asked to have someone come up to ask them to please be quiet. No one ever came. We called back again about 20 minutes later and asked if anyone was coming. The man at the front desk said they had sent security who heard nothing from any room, which we did not believe. Our neighbors hadn't stopped since the first call downstairs and was still happening WHILE we were on the phone during the 2nd call! At that point we were very direct about what was going on/what we were hearing in that room and they immediately called the guests. Finally around 530--sweet silence. We notified the woman at the front desk when checking out who was very apologetic about the situation. It really is a shame that we had such a disturbing second night. The hotel really is nice and very comfortable hence the 3 "stars", but the walls make it seem like you are in the same room with your neighbors. I'm not sure that we would come back after the night we had.
LOCATION, very nice room, near from the port 1, access to the buses stop, near form China Town
We came from the Embarcadero BART/Muni Station on Market Street which was a very comfortable walk. Arrived about an hour before check-in time and received a room right away. Front desk was backed with a line for awhile. Had a high floor on first stay and liked it much better than the lower floor this time. Room and features are good. Large screen TV nice! Restaurant on the third floor is very good. Arthur is a great waiter; ask him where is from. BATH ROOM DOOR IS A JOKE!. It is very heavy and slides open like an old barn door. It is impossible to use the facilities in the middle of the night without making noise that awakens spouse. Bed was firm but comfortable. Would prefer a top sheet instead of just the covered comforter. Towels were nothing to shout about.
Well-kept rooms for a great price. It was a little noisy at night (people returning from the bars).
The friendliness of the staff, the location of the hotel. Just a bit noisy one night, room was rather crowded against the radiator.
Good location. Room was small but well appointed, clean and included everything a business traveler is looking for.
Bed is good. Nothing
Location was excellent. We arrived early and they still had a room available.
Proximity. Computers in the lobby. No bathtub.
Location of hotel No parking
I liked the automated quick check-in process. The room key must also be swiped in the elevator for extra security. The hotel has wired and wireless internet access, flat panel tv/monitor, refrigerator and microwave. At 3:00 a.m. on the first night of my stay, the fire alarm sounded and the entire hotel was forced to evacuate. It was caused by one hotel guest who burnt some bacon in the microwave. I also would have liked a bathtub instead of just a shower.
Excellent for business travel- in room access to internet and printing worked well. Excellent and safe location- very important issue for women traveling for business; located in walking distance from many SF locations , close to xeroxing and federal express/mail locations. Bus and Train stations are in wlaking distance as well. Complimentary services excellent. The public spaces were well kept. Room clean and could adjust the temperature as desired. Helpful staff.
I liked the amenities like the free bottles of water, the roof terrace, the computers with free internet downstairs, the friendliness of the staff
The walls where hospital white . They started doing construction at 8am on a Friday.
Location is great. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is a basic hotel: you get what you pay for! Room is small and worn out, old building, needs renovation. It gets rather noisy from the street. Noises from rooms around you can be heard very well :-( The shower is alright for dwarves but for people over 1,70m it takes some effort to use it. Once again: it is a basic hotel: you get what you pay for.
Good location. Very small room and uncomfortable bed.
The location of Grant Plaza Hotel is excellent for seeing the city! Right at the beginning of China Town, 10mins to Union Square.
Good location. Affordable. Heater wasn't working. Had to get portable heater which took a while to work well.
very central on a corner very noisy no double glazing
The place is clean and had a cool modern look. The biggest issue was that our room had no air conditioning and due to its location within the building had no air flow, even having the window cracked didn't help.
The location was great. It was close to the Bart and to a lot of the attractions. The noise. Because the hotel is located on busy street, the street noise was very loud. Perhaps they can invest in better sound proofing of the windows.
I liked the price of the hotel. It was really inexpensive especially to stay centrally in the city. The bed was hard as a rock and really uncomfortable. It seemed like I was sleeping on a box spring without the mattress.
Cheap and conveniently located in Chinatown, very close to downtown and public transportation. There was an odd odor, an unpleasant smell in the room. On one of the nights, the heater made banging noises, so we had to turn it off for the remainder of the stay.
Nice staff, fun location, clean room
Location great, friendly staff. Wifi worked most of time..not a problem
The room was comfortable, the staff was excellent. I relied on the staff multiple times during my stay and I have to say they were very accommodating, fast to respond which made this one of my more enjoyable business trips. I opened the window to get some fresh air but the noise of either air conditioners or a generator forced me to close it.
I liked the location of the hotel. The rooms were a little small for my taste.
The staff at The Triton is maybe the friendliest staff I've ever experienced; and I've stayed in hundreds of hotels. We were in San Francisco for a dear friend's funeral, and the second day we were there we found a very nice condolence card personally signed by the two people who run guest services. We were very touched to say the least. Some of the rooms can be small, but that's fairly common in San Francisco.
It's proximity to everything: shopping, restaurants, theatre, tansit systems, etc.
Great location Tinny rooms and tiny bathroom
The reception and lobby are very nicely decorated which makes you feel that you are in a boutique hotel and not another bland hotel chain. I liked the nice attention to detail in the room, nice photographs on the wall, design bedheads, Aveda products in the bathroom. The location is very central. They gave us a room with a view on a wall of brick and some construction rubbish lying on the floor, so that we kept the curtain closed all the time.
Close to shopping Room was dirty and very dated. The decor was tacky.
complimentary happy hour friendly staff great location A/C in the window
The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. I also loved the location and the fact that they are extremely pet-friendly. Small rooms, but expected for a downtown SF hotel.
the staff was wonderful! very friendly and helpful
Great location; really helpful and efficient staff (knew local restaurants; efficient with parking; friendly); nice to have drinks in the lobby; our teens loved the decor.
We loved our stay at Hotel Triton. The staff was so nice and so helpful. The atmosphere was unique which we liked. Location was great and the room was clean and comforable. We participated in the wine tasting and that was such a nice touch. We would definately stay there again.
