Vibrant neighborhood. Great restarants. Convienant to many attractions.
Decent breakfast. Nice room. Good HVAC. Good bathroom. Great location. Nice staff. Hallways can be noisy sometimes.
Handy parking in the structure nearby, good location in Lincoln Park. Lobby, workout facilities and breakfast were great. Cramped room and bathroom. Surprised to see ear plugs with the toiletries, but another reviewer did say that the walls are paper thin. I didn't notice any noise and didn't need to use them.
Quaint and cozy. Old but adequate. Friendly, competent staff. Elevator old and clunky.
Breakfast was good and quick. Workout room was top notch equipment.
We were upgraded to a business sweet from a standard queen room for free and without even asking. The room was very clean, simple and classy with a large bathroom. The breakfast room was also large and there was a great selection of foods. The hotel staff is very helpful, kind and attentive. Check out is at noon but you can check your luggage at the hotel if you have more sight seeing to do!! You can also leave your car with valet and won't be charged another night or hourly rates till 3pm. On our last day of a great trip we needed to check out by noon but we're planning on doing a little more touring so we thought we had to put our luggage in our car after checking out. We asked the valet where the car was parked so they wouldn't have to bring it around for us to merely put our luggage in it. We followed his directions (parking garage around the corner, top floor) and ended up climbing 8 flights of stairs with our luggage to the top of the garage as we hadn't found and elevator. Upon reaching the top we were greeted by a locked door. We started making out way back down through the garage itself to look for our car and couldn't find it so we headed back to the hotel where we got lectured by the valet attendant because apparently we could have checked out luggage at the hotel after checking out. Very upset that we put in all that effort just to be scolded by the valet attendant for whom we were trying to do a favor.
Amazing location, clean rooms, appears newly refurbished. The lobby/ checkin area was just... A little weird. The singular front desk agent was overworked and harried, and the open-area of the lobby is just small enough that everyone seems to be staring at each other, but just large enough to bring enough bodies in to make it feel really odd. But get past check-in and the hotel was great.
Able to check in early, room was upgraded, excellent breakfast, ticket printing, friendly staff Everything was great
Everything was gre Nothing
Excellent location, clean rooms, friendly competent staff, and a large accommodating room for the generous free breakfast. It's all good.
The room my friend and I got was a business room with 2 queen beds that was very spacious. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was pretty nice. Overall great value. Nothing really to complain about except maybe the noise outside, although some bacon or sausage at breakfast would have been nice.
I was able to travel to work downtown easily for a new job. It was very convenient to stay here while waiting for my new apartment to be ready. They were able to store my personal items until I could move to the new apartment. The entire staff was very friendly.
mostly nothing car park 5 mins walking away from the hotel in another building! morning staff should treat customers in better manner unless the big manager is ON! night shift people much better in terms of helping customers!
Quaint cute hotel hidden among a nice neighborhood just away from the busyness of Wrigley. We walked to Wrigley stadium 2 xs during our stay. The hotel room was small but clean and comfortable and the prices for the mini bar were a nice surprise! Our room was really small and the breakfast was a sub par continenta,l but our bathroom was really nice and they had robes and all the hair/body soaps necessary so no need to bring your own.
Walked to Cubs game! Walked to amenities and dinner, great location! Old building, but tasteful decor and very clean! We didn't have time to enjoy the cookies or breakfast but overall a good stay! Staff was very nice.
Great Staff Great Location ITs OLD kids going to the Cubs game were EVERYWHERE - cute but loud Creaking floors Typical American breakfast (blue milk w no fat and cheap cereals/breads)
Comfy bed. Friendly staff. Good location if you don't feel like staying downtown.
It was located in a great area, I had everything I needed. As I was checking out, one of the housekeepers ran all the way down to give me my computer charger! I thought the cost was a little high for the size of the room, but not big deal.
The bed was comfortable. The room was a little bit small but perfect for just me.
The room was clean, there were 2 refrigerators and a microwave and a sitting room with plenty of space (although bathroom was a tad tight)... The halls were clean, mostly quiet and the staff was always going out of their way to help and be personable. Breakfast actually had protein (I'm a nutrition expert) instead of just 27 selections of carbs) so it was good enough to use as a real first meal and not a start/holdover till a real meal. We loved it. Wife and I might even make going there a tradition each holiday season. The ceiling fan in the room rocked enough when turned on that it made racket with the pull string as it swung around, and the radiator for heat was awkward to figure out. Parking is "close" but not in an adjacent building; it's oddly on the other side of the block the hotel is situated on and requires wrapping around the streets to get to...this is more than offset with $22 per day parking with coming/going rights... For Chicago, this is cheap and handy, since you can leave and reset the countdown at any time (the 24 hour countdown).
The staff at the Majestic Hotel are all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Also, the rooms and facility are clean and well maintained. The floor in room 311 is creaky in a few places. I suspect that could be a problem for the people in the room below 311.
Was close to the Metro which was why we were up in the city. Nice little hotel. Rooms seemed a bit dated but was a nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed our stay. Bed was a bit uncomfortable but most are when I travel.
The rooms, breakfast Parking. Had a parking ticket in the morning.
Size of beds, room, and bathrooms were great (we booked a 2 Queen room). Room was very quiet and the beds were comfortable. Plenty of space for our young children to run and play a bit before bed. The location is also great with plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance. Thanks to the attentive staff at check-in, I also managed to snag the last free street parking spot immediately in front of the hotel. Age/quality of bathroom wasn't great, the little electric heater in the wall wasn't enough to make up for the cold air leaking in around the window-mounted air conditioner, and the breakfast wasn't that impressive (cereal, bagels, yogurt, and microwave sandwiches).
Location was good, and it was nice to have the option for parking in the ramp around the corner. The staff was friendly enough but not very helpful with the issues with our radiator. The price seemed reasonable, although less so when we saw how small the room was, how noisy the radiators were, and how thin the walls were. Heat is provided by old-timey radiators which clank and are hard to control. The front desk wasn't very helpful when we couldn't get one closed (we were roasting)- they just said, "turn the knob" (duh). Thanks to paper-thin walls, we got to hear all the noise from the hallway, plus the couple upstairs, um, coupling on a squeaky bed. The breakfast was disappointing.
The price was very good for Chicago in the summer. Its a perfect location if you're coming for a Cubs game!
The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Paul was so polite and upgraded my room so my daughter, with whom I was visiting, could stay with me and we could each have our own beds. My room had a hint of cigarette smoke when we first arrived. I had to spray it. The sign clearly stated NO SMOKING.
The atmosphere was nice. the architecture looks old but it makes you feel cozy. The rooms are nice. It's very clean. During check in I was asked for a deposit of $60 which I was not informed of prior to my visit. There was no infomation on it. I did not have much money so I was left asking family to transfer money into my account. I'm only 19 and was in town for a special event. My room was paid for by family not me. So I was embarrassed and worried that I would be steamed without a room. I would suggest that you inform your guests that even after they pay for the room they need to put down $60 as well.
The radiator was SUPER noisy, and we were unable to control the temperature so it was not a good night of sleep. We were told it was being addressed the day we checked out, so we'd be willing to try them again. Cute place.
Bathroom was too small. The door hits the toilet, would have liked to have a comfortable. Chair or couch. Shower just trickles. The toilet clogged. Twice. Staff was great and took Carr of the clogs immediately
Front desk very helpful. Room spacious. Beds very comfortable. Hallway dingy. Room furniture sparing and dingy. Room doesn't have a closed off closet. Carpet and walls could be brighter.
Fun area, good for us as it's near family here, always a welcome option. Beds very comfy. Friendly.
The place is in an old building, which is cool, but also has its drawbacks. I liked the feel of the place generally. It's definitely not posh, and you won't break the bank to stay here. The bathroom was pretty lousy. Low shower head, toilet was on a tilt, and the room itself needs updating.
Good value for the money. In a great area, Staff was excellent.
Friendly attentive staff during the day. Large rooms. Great neighborhood close to public transport.
24 hour coffee/tea bar was great, plus the location is hard to beat. Parking is expensive, but parking in cities is always expensive.
The room is very nice as well as the bathroom all very clean who is in a great location my room actually faced the L and I never heard the train
Incredibly comfortable room and fabulous location! Parking was a bit difficult
Very close to the "L"
Amenities in room were on point. Everything I needed was represented. For a single traveler I found the room cozy overlooking Belmont. Location could not be beat for exploring the g hood, proximity to downtown, and Wrigley Park (next stop on the el). Had lots of questions, staff was accommodating. 2 cleanliness issues with hair, dresser and towels.- long strands. I'm bald, male. Refrigerator, 1st nite, saturated carpet around it. Reported it, nothing done. This is an older building, walls and ceiling are thin. 2nd night above neighbors moved in. Could hear them walking, and if there room was as small as mine, they must have been doing laps like a hamster. The saving grace, the white noise from the squeaky ceiling fan. This is every issue I had for a 3-day stay. The place is worth the rate with the understanding of the product. Perfect for a place to sleep after spending the day and evening exploring the city.
Location, service, welcome, suite.
Staff did not go out of there way to help you. Parking is extremely which is fine.
Location was convenient. Room size was good. Staff was not very social or polite. Breakfast was just ok.
The room was clean and nice, if a little aged. The halls and lobby were overwhelmed with a potpourri/urinal cake smell that was clearly an attempt at masking something even less savory.
Very convenient location, sandwiched between shops and tons of food places. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very nicely decorated and clean. They have free breakfast and coffee and tea available all day. The rooms were larger than I really expected for a boutique hotel. They have parking and are very helpful in showing you where to go (I'm not good with directions so I appreciated this). They also have a great list of neighboring food places. I just thought they really did a good job at making sure your stay was pleasant. Our room was literally NEXT to the train station so it was loud. The sound of the train was okay, nice actually, but the announcements from the station were pretty loud throughout the night. Our room did not have an AC unit - I notice many others did - and we were not informed. You cannot sleep with the window open with that train so if it's warm, you're sweatin' it out!
Good Value. Divided room. Comfortable bed. Great location. noise to cta. small elevator. breakfast was not the best.
Rooms are clean and very comfortable. Convenient to things in the Lakeview and Wrigley Park area of Chicago. Right next to the Red Line. The woman who works the front desk was very unfriendly. Not very welcoming at all.
great room 415. spacious at the end of the hallway and quiet. I had to keep logging into the internet which was frustrating as I was trying to work. Their internet kept bouncing me off. Same with the tv -- kept loosing signal or freezing.
Room was nice, small, but convenient. Microwave, refrigerator, and nice staff. Was a great location. The room was a little expensive for what you got. Was hoping for a larger room or some other amenities. Breakfast wasn't served until 7AM which means I had to miss it.
Staff was great , location. Staff was accommodating changing our room after 1st night was next to elevator. Had us in a room right next to the elevator. They should never rent that room. Banging and dinging all night. Internet and tv didn't work. Second room tv reception was good but still lacked Internet reception.
The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. Quick and easy check-in and out. Nice breakfast. The bedroom and bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The hotels valet was not friendly, made me feel uncomfortable.
Easy 10 min walk to the Cubs game. Tons of stores and places to eat at. Great neighborhood and felt safe walking around at any time of night as there were always people out. Easy parking in attached garage. Would stay again. Nothing.
Breakfast was included. Great perk! Friendly staff. The toilet wasn't flushed.
Location was close to Wrigley Field, dining, and grocery store Breakfast was not good. Poor options, and crowded space (think a closet converted to a self-serve breakfast nook). Parking nearby was expensive at $38 for a 24 hour period.
Great location, friendly staff, easy parking. High priced compared to other hotels
Staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel, including rooms is very clean and quiet. Room decorating and furnishing is current.
Great location, room equipped with wi-fi, microwave, fridge. Also, free bottled water left in room each day. Great Mexican restaurant on the same block. Walking distance to shops, bars, attractions. Friendly staff. Above average continental breakfast. Look forward to the next stay. We stayed in a room on the first floor which was right next to where the continental breakfast was served. While the room was very adequate, it was noisy in the morning. Other than that, a very pleasant stay.
The staff was courteous and professional My room was by the elevator, which was beeping constantly.
The facility is extremely welcoming. The staff are very helpful and nice. Much is provided at a low cost. I went to Chicago on a whim and ended up staying for three nights at Wrigley Hostel. I absolutely enjoyed my stay and would gladly stay there again. The only down side, if one can call it such, is the location. The hostel resides in a very nice neighborhood. I was not concerned about safety. However, this nice neighborhood is about fifteen minutes from the city center. You will end up riding the subway a lot.
Everything was ok Nothing
Comfy beds. Nice staff. Nice location. Nothing displeased me.
