Gorgeous grounds, accommodations and excellent staff. We booked a deluxe room and it was really nice and comfortable. A little hard (and expensive) to get there from Phuket. We, a family of four, spent almost $700.00 to get from Phuket to the resort and back as the ferry times did not coincide with our flight times in and out of Phuket. We had to take a private speedboat to the island and then take the resort's private boat back. If possible, take the ferry, it would have only cost us around $100.00 for the four of us, round trip!
This place is good if you want to get away from everything, in a remote part of the island where you can do whatever you want, on their resort of course. There is little of anything outside of their resort unless you want to take a water taxi 30 minutes away. When we made the booking, we wanted a nice place in a quiet area with a nice pool and on the beach. We have a 6 year old daughter and we made the reservation with 2 adults and 1 child. When we got there at check in, we were forced to pay a "child fee". Nowhere on the Web site was there any mention of the child fee, and they cited "hotel policy". If I had known this up front I would have considered this as the total cost of the hotel. Also, if you want to go into town, there are only 2 options. 1) walk about 2 hours through the woods. Or 2) pay for a private water taxi to get you there. If you have a problem with mosquitos this place is not for you. It's full of mosquitos, but bug spray is available in the minibar and a fogger is available for free to kill them in your room.
Relaxing Staffs English made for many misinterpritations
The location this hotel was the hotel charges you for everything. I have been in many luxury hotels. This one is willing to be like other luxury hotels without any exclusivity but trying you to charge you for it. I would recommend to go better to Datai in Langkawy Is or Japamala in Tioman (both Malaysia). Then you are going to pay for wat you get. Here "you will pay for smoke"
Beautiful beach and location. Having to pay for everything. The staff didnt trust us, too many rules, no centralised place to book things etc, staff were unhelpful!
Resort is beautiful and service is outstanding. The private beach is gorgeous. Our stay at this resort was one of the best vacations, ever. Food is great at all their venues. I specially recommend their Thai Restaurant. Nestled against a hill, is one of the most fantastic restaurants we have experienced. The half-day Island Tour was a lot of fun. Entertainment at night is a lot of fun considering this is an isolated hotel. Overall experience was superb. The only thing I would have changed was the pick up from the Phi Phi pier in a long boat. The ride was choppy and very slow. On the return, however they used a fast boat, which made it fast and comfortable.
It is a heaven's place for some one who wants to enjoy rest, nature and diving Thai Massages were a bit softish and expensivez
Everything in this hotel was perfect!!!! From the location to the hotel staff service
This place was just magical. We chose the cheapest room option and I was really happy with our bungalow. All of the little touches like flowers made it that bit extra special. We also took other trip advisor reviews recommendations and went to the village behind the resort and loved it - massaman curries and oil massages. The prices of the food were really exorbitant and not really reflective of the standard of the food. Also we tried to book a ferry from Phi Phi to Phuket and the best they could offer was 1500 for a transfer or 1000 just for the ferry. We got the ferry in Tonsai for 300 baht!
We loved the laid back attitude of the staff yet they were always there to help you. Very polite and professional
Pool and beach had excellent view and facilities. And very quiet and relax. Located on private beach, it wasn't easy to experience various restaurant. And we had to wait for a quite long lunch got served.
We absolutely loved this resort! From the minute our longboat pulled up, the service was amazing. All of the staff were really accommodating and friendly. We really enjoyed the spa where we did a couple massage in a private bungalow. The oceans views were wonderful. We had lunch at the restaurant in the main lobby area and enjoyed it both times. The hut style hotel room was spacious and clean. We were overall very impressed! The boat ride to get to the resort was 200 baht per person. We felt that this should have been included since the only way to get there is by boat. We loved the village in back of the resort but this would not be a place to stay if someone wanted access to the bars/restaurants at Tonsai Bay at night. There is a longboat that goes there twice a day though (10am and 3pm).
Great proximity to the beach the room was nice and there were lots of young people there The air conditioning was warm air it was not please t and very humid
The staff was very attentive and friendly. The aC was great. Breakfast was amazing! The photos of the pool were misleading
Breakfast Heavy construction, cramped room, no room view, hard bed, no room phone, cash deposit required at check in.
Fantastic hotel with good amenities. Close enough to Ton Sai village to walk in about 10-15 minutes but far enough away to get peace and quiet. Beautiful beaches, good food, excellent views and lovely rooms. Some of the rooms were on quite a steep incline. This wasn't a problem for us but may be for people with mobility problems. They will run you up the hill by tuk tuk if you ask.
Loved how close it was to the beach and the trail to other near by beaches such as long beach. Walking to the other bay was quick and the staff were very helpful in directing us around town. The hill to the rooms is a little steep but not terrible especially if you're young. The staff with drive you to your room with your luggage when you arrive and dive down your luggage when you leave.
The setting with roomview over part of the bay; the restaurant (reasonable included breakfast and good quality thai diners) with seatings on the beach; friendly servants; town in walking distance; resort quiet during daytime. At check-in they insist that you pay the whole sum upfront, iso at check-out as in normal hotels. We agreed to pay half or we would go somewhere else./The loud music from 3 bars in town that can be heard over the bay between ± 22:00 - 02:00 every night spoils the tranquility that you'd expect in this island-resort./Price/quality is very much off from Thai standard: THB 3500 iso 5000 per night would have been more reasonable for this level of accommodation./Reception-staff and hotelmanager not able to take their responsibility after a building firm landed on their beach, including noisy bulldozer and full-size pontoon, blocking the view from their beachterrace for remainder of stay.
View from the room, kindness of staff who picked us up at the Pier and brought us there (for free)
The view from our hut was amazing. It rained the whole time during our stay, which sucked, but it was still a beautiful location. You can't flush toilet paper, because of the plumbing. Their customer service is questionable - their network was down during our check-out and we still had expenses to pay. Since their network was down, our credit card could not be run, so they said we need to go the port, take money out of the ATM and pay them that way. We would've been charged a 5% fee for withdrawals, if not more so I told them that and that I refuse to pay that way. The front desk lady said they get charged 3% for processing credit cards, which isn't and should never be the guests problem. I suggested she take my credit card number and keep it for later until power was restored, but I think she did not understand me or didn't trust that I wouldn't cancel the card or something. Regardless, we negotiated the exchange rate with them so we could pay cash (they wanted to exchange $1USD = 31 Baht, but we got them to do $1USD = 34 Baht) We traveled to other locations in Thailand and the customer service was lacking pretty much everywhere.
I like the beach which well located, and the breakfast (more variaty). Cleanliness of the room (esp. the bathroom) is not so good. The water heater is out of order frequently.
The view was amazing and the beach was gorgeous, the bungalows were very rustic in keeping with tradition. The food was good and the cocktails were nice. I found the height of the bungalows a bit frustrating as you had to get a buggy up and down to your bungalow as it's too high to walk and because the buggy would stop at 11pm you found that it hindered you staying out any longer. I also have to say that the bar toilets were horrendous, they need to work on the sewerage system as the smell was awful. And I think the place could do with a bit more smartening up.
The beachfront view, the sand and water. The bathroom was awfully dirty and overall grounds at hotel were not maintained or cleaned. Very disappointed.
Lovely beach and not too many tourists. Unfortunately it rained most of the time.
Best hotel in the area were we stayed (long beach). Beautifull Bungalows with amazing sea view. Bear in mind that the hotel like everything in PhiPhi Island is on a wildlife - jungle-ish area. So espect some insects here and there... Golf car to take you to the room which can be up in the mountain only works till 11pm. Anyway after that time you will be quite happy and for sure enjoy the adventurous walk!
The island is as pretty as you would expect from the pictures and the hotel staff are very friendly and eager to help you wherever they can. The shower pressure was quite low. The English of the staff wasn't always up to standard, which can occasionally make it difficult for you to get your point across. Please be advised there are many mosquitoes on the island - you would do well to prepare! So bring anti mosquito spray or clothes that cover most of your body for when you sit down to eat.
Location amd service The air contioner is directoy to the bed and it got me sick
nothing much really we planned to stay for two nights but only ended up staying 1, we were out in the sticks and evreyone was trying to rip us off to get into town so we went back to phuket the next day, pool was filthy room was a very low standards in comparison to price we paid and other hotels we stayed in across thailand everything
The staff are so nice and helpful. Got upgraded to a delux room. Relaxing atmosphere.
If you are looking for a quiet place, far and isolated from the main beaches of P.P it is really a nice place. Hotel restaurant was really expensive but you have no other place to eat. Hotel restaurant have Thai dance and Thai boxing every 2-3 days for free. Because it's location you can see both sunset and sunrise from the hotel. Nice pool with see view. Buy supplies before you come to the hotel because it is isolated and everything will be dramatically expensive. because the hotel is isolated it is a little complicated to get there, you can take long tail taxi boat for 1000 baht, or wait for the big boat that departs at 15:00 or 17:00 and coast 200 baht (pp). If you arrive from phuket you simply continue with the same boat to the hotel. The hotel beach was quite busy with long tail boats, but it wasn't really a hassle
Everything was brilliant, the staff, location, services.
I liked the view from the pool. The rooms were clean and reasonably comfortable. Because it's on the bay, the music from the party beach carries really well and makes it very loud at night. You would think that because it is so far away from town it would be quite but that's not the case. If you're not planning to stay up until 1am, choose a different place. Even though the PP Charlie was closer to the beach, it was actually much quieter at night. IF the price had been lower for the Cobble Beach, I would have found the walk and the noise ok.
I liked that we were directly facing the beach and Relax guests were the only one using it. I also liked the little bungalow we stayed in and the balcony we had. Everything was good however it is quite far from the main town - either a 30 min long boat ride or 60 min walk through the jungle! It rained the whole time we were there, boat trips to Phi Phi Leh were off and it was too slippery to go for a walk into the town
Location - closed area, beach. Trips organized by the hotel are more expensive than in the island center, but very ok. Restaurant also good, even though expensive compared to places in island center. No hot shower.
Food, sea, relax Only electricity from 6pm to 6 am mosquitos
What a perfect location and what a perfect atmoshpere. The best beach on ko phi phi don.... amazing The shower has cold water. Also the mobility on the islands is not so great but you can also put this on positive side because if you like to be in a relaxed beach resort not in the party part of the island this is the place to be.
The location was amazing There was no hot water
Nothing. If you like the beach and wants to stay the whole day in one place this might suit you. Few things!! Transfer from Tonsai pier costs THB150 which is not clearly mentioned in the hotel description. There is no other way (except walking through the bush for 1 hour) to get to this hotel other than taking a boat. Everytime you need to go the centre it costs THB150 if you take the hotel boat or you can get a taxi boat which can cost a bit. When we got there my credit card was charged and they have done the currency conversion. This means the THB is converted to AUD by the Thai bank instead of my credit card issuer. This is not ideal as the conversion rate is low (please ask your bank if any doubts). When I asked the lady about that she was repeatedly saying that was not the case. Had a difficult time sorting it out!!!
The staff are really friendly, helpful and polite. Nice view and it's far from the main pub area so, its quite a nice and quiet place to stay. If you are looking for a budget place to stay away from the main pubs, this would be a good place to stay. There were no telephone in the villa, in our case the toilet flush was not functioning and we need to walk all the way to the reception counter to ask someone to come over and fixed it. Besides that there were no street lights or standing lamps along the walk way which makes it hard for people to walk during the night especially most of the villas looks the same, hard could see the villa number without lights on.
Nothing we planned on booking online upon arrival ( so we could view the rooms first). Upon arrival there were 3 employees at the front desk. I inquired about the room price and they were quick to say there were no rooms available. I explained that The website showed availability. After 3 minutes of arguing, they finally realized I was going to book online. At this time they tried to get me to pay cash at a higher rate so they could pocket some extra. WIFI WAS UNUSABLE. After contacting the front desk with the problem, they simply dismissed my claim. In order for room to be cleaned, we needed to visit reception to make a special request despite the " please clean room" sign on our door the entire time. Shower was disgusting with an awful smell that overwhelmed the entire room! The only good experience we had at this hotel was checking out. Don't let the photos fool you and don't waste your time here. There are a considerable amount of hotels available at the same price which offer a much much better guest experience.
It is near good restaurants/bars. Only 10 minutes walk from the port, and they pick you up and carry your bags. It is right on the bay (which is not great for swimming, beach is on other side). Breakfast was decent. Very budget hotel. Only 2 star.
Close to the beach, and set in a very pretty location with well maintained gardens. The two bell boys were friendly and polite, and given our experience with the rest of the staff I would strongly recommend that management & their team use them as their role models. The thing I liked most about this hotel was checking out with the knowledge that I will not be back. At check in you are given a list of rules & regulations, asked to pay for the room in full and asked for 1000 thb (around €25) deposit for the room key. I was also told that if I wanted to pay with my particular credit card I would be charged an additional 5 % on my bill. I used this all over Thailand and was not asked this anywhere else. When arriving in the restaurant for breakfast we were greeted daily with a young waitress who seemed only capable of barking loudly, ‘’room number!!’’. The breakfast was awful – bland tasteless ingredients appeared to be used which were verging on inedible. I challenge anyone to make more foul tasting pancakes than their chef was capable of – burnt on the outside and raw batter in the middle. If dining early you will eat breakfast along with the hotel staff including gardeners and maintenance people in their dirty overalls. We had several complaints which were met with either indifference or hostility, and whenever we asked to speak to the manager we were always initially refused. The English lady that runs the coffee shop was also rude with a passion for sarcasm. In general the atmosphere in this hotel was terrible, and in the reception area there always seems to be someone complaining about something.
The swimming pool and the free breakfast Where do i start???? The female reception staff member was rude and unhelpful (her eyes rolled whenever i asked for her help) and her english was not very good which was very frustrating. The toilets had an awful smell when i first arrived. Wasn't allowed to flush the toilet paper, yet another hotel i was staying at in Phi Phi was fine with it. Are we suppose to wipe our butts and leave the toilet paper in the rubbish bin?????? Don't fancy smelling my own urea. No soap supplied, no scrubbing cloth....just these little things that could easily be supplied with little cost makes a difference to the experience. Change your policy re cleaning. Like most hotels, cleaning every day unless the customer specifically states should be the norm.
Location was quiet, but still near the village. Beach at the front of the resort was very nice. Pool was ok. The worst value for money I have ever had in any resort in Thailand. Rooms are dirty, cleaning insufficient (they don't clean if you don't ask for it), and breakfast selection was very simple and still some parts were missing every morning. However, Phi Phi Villa seems to be above average in among all resorts in Phi Phi. In general, the level of services and value for money in Phi Phi are much worse than maybe anywhere in Thailand.
They had wireless internet which doesnt feature on the hotel page. but the signal only good around the reception area. The location was not too bad but you had to go up a fair amount to get to your room. good that they carry literaly your bags on their back, feel sorry for the guys. The rooms were poor and the delux were actualy worst than the superior rooms in terms of quality of the instalations. We asked to be downgraded as we wouldnt acept to be in the delux where the bathrooms look like they where still under construction.
the hotel is centrally located in Phi Phi and close to many aminities like restaurants, tour agencies, supermarket, pharmacy. It is also very closed to the beach (about 5 min walk). The pier is about 10 min walk. The room had a sea and beach view. the room was big, with confy bed, air con, large barthroom, TV and balcony. Being on top of the stairs our room was half way to reach the beautiful viewpoint in Phi Phi. Staff were helpful and could speak a bit of English which is quiet rare to find in Phi Phi. Staff came to greet us at the pier and carried our lagguage on the way back as well. Too many stairs!! We had 195 steps to reach our room. the hotel rooms are build on the mountain so stairs are inevitable! Breakfast was a bit poor.
yes we liked staying at this hotel, there are wonderful views of the countryside, but in hot weather is very hard to climb up the stairs (elevator unavailable). The breakfast was very meager (it is 100% Continental - not American). If you arrived at Phi - Phi dance all night - then this is your option, otherwise the music rumbling from the beach is a hindrance. Rooms are large and comfortable clean. yes we liked staying at this hotel, there are wonderful views of the countryside, but in hot weather is very hard to climb up the stairs (elevator available). The view was amazing. 198 stairs to get to the room! Ugh!
The view from the room Terrible hotel.. Really far from the center of the town (it is not a 5 min walk), you have to climb a huge set of stairs, this is not something you can brush off as we thought! We actually planned our day trying to get to a minimum the number of times we had to walk those stairs. Room was terrible, A/C was not working properly, the bathroom - not finished is an understatement - it's just a block of concrete! Looks like a prison bathroom!
one of the highest hotels on the island so the view is amazing!! with that being said if you're looking for a 5 star hotel this is not it. the staff was friendly and quick to fix any problems we had and the AC was extremely cold which is needed in that weather the rooms needed to be updated and the bed was uncomfortable, even though we requested 1 big bed they gave us a room with 2 bed pushed together. there is no wifi in the rooms only the lobby
Nice place. I love the swimming pool where you can have a cocktail. There is not a lot of thing in the surrounding and you have to walk about 15/20 mn to arrive to te restaurant and night life- The receptionnist could be a bit more welcoming... and helpful..
The swuimming pool, although it is always crowded. The hotel smells badly and the location is not the best. considering the price, I wouldn´t stay there never again.
Hotel is pretty bad. No good rooms. No hot water. No good service. Completely bad.
The location was probably the best thing about this resort. With a small but comfortable pool to swim in while the tide is out or the beach with clear water and stunning views only metres away make for a very relaxing place to stay. It's also an easy walk to the heart of the town but far enough away to not be bothered by noise and plenty of bars on the walk back to keep you entertained. Whilst being clean, this place was old and run down - lots of spak filler and flaking paint on the walls combined with harsh flourescent lights didn't exactly make the rooms feel inviting. My main complaint is the value for money, I feel that this resort was overpriced for what you got. If you want the quiet and the beach then stay here, if you're looking for a nice room for your money, find somewhere else.
