The pool would have been wonderful given the location and views of the ocean, but it was so dirty and unkempt.... We visited the pool nearly every afternoon for the entire week and not once was the pool cleared of leaves, grass, garbage. There was a spot on the pavement that a drink must have spilled or something and it was there for the entire 6 days. I was quite disappointed considering the resort fee is apparently supposed to cover towels/chairs by the pool. Also, it seemed staff was never around to help set up chairs, grab towels and the like, finally we just went and got our own. Very disappointed because this place has so much potential!
Beach and pools are great. Staff on the beach that set us up in our cabana was great, the only positive staff experience we had. Front desk couldn't find our third party reservation so gave us an ultimatum of leave and try to get our money back or stay in a handicap room at current rate. Also told us never to book through a third party...then why do you participate in those sites?! 5 minutes after we were in our room they called and said, oops we found it you're good. Meanwhile charged us $200 to open credit card even though we had prepaid through 3rd party the charged our card another $330 the next day which they could not explain. In fact when i called down to front desk to ask for an explanation they said they were really busy with guests, but would try to assist. I laughed. They then just said it would be refunded at check out with no explanation. Room had dead fruit flies everywhere, it's Florida, I get it. We live here, but I asked the front desk to have someone come clean them up and no action was taken. We made the best of it, always do, but they will not get repeat business from us.
Good location. They gave us an upgrade to a ocean view with balcony. Room is nice. We didn't like the food at the hotel and it was very overpriced.
Wonderful staff and great location
The luxury and good service from the staff at all times. Got help with restaurants, and we also liked the proximity of bar, restaurant and beach to the hotel. That TV cost. They might have included some more things in the servicefee of USD25.
Beautifull hotel with very friendly and helpfull staff. Late checkout (1500) to do the spectacular jet-ski tour around the island they provide was not a problem at all
The hotel is beautiful and the private beach is definately a plus. The pier that you can swim off of as well as the hammocks, games to play and outside dining were fabulous. The drinks were pretty pricey and we were hoping that there would have been more options with the menu between breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The bed was very comfortable...but, it would be good to have had a bath in our bedroom...and we were moved 3 times before we departed and this was in a 4 night stay period...
Location is beautiful Beach is full of rocks and algae. The public beach next door is much better. First room was filthy and had a broken toilet. Second room was in desperate need of updates
Beach location was great. Room floor was hard, so it was not good for 8 months baby.
Location of the hotel was great. Access to beach and proximity to the downtown was a great asset. Daniel at check in was very helpful.
everything incredible hotel wonderful grounds breathtaking hotel INCREDIBLE TOP NOTCH STAFF I could go on and on This is now a must for me in Key West Absolutely nothing
I liked the location with the beach, the pool area and the real nice breakfast. The rooms were very spaceous and the bathrooms very nice. I experienced the hotel staff in the reception to send out signals of "I HATE MY JOB". When we asked how to get to the down town Kew West, if it was too long to walk there or if taxi was the alternative - we got the answer: A taxi would be abt 15 $ - in stead of getting information on the free shuttle. Do we have to pay for a smile and to get accurate information. We found out about the shuttle by accident. Then when asked the driver of the shuttle if he also drove back to the hotel at a certain time: He answered: you dont ask me about that, you need to go to the reception. I am driving back now. (so: How do we ask the reception about that when we are down town? why so hard to get any information about this). WORST SERVICE EVER!
Komfortabelt, rent, rolig, fantastisk bra senger.
Room service was quick but expensive was not impressed by this place. For the money it costs you expect a certain standard of customer care. When we arrived we had to wait in a queue to be checked in. Then the receptionist decided to answer the phone and chat to his colleagues before acknowledging our presence. They allow pets, which is great when people take their dogs and leave in the hotel room all night and the dog barks constantly under the small hours of the morning! Would not stay here again.
Employees were very professional. Air conditioning inside rooms are very noisy. Asked the front desk about that with response all rooms are like that. Needs some attention to fix that problem.
Clean hotel, friendly staff. Location was a not so good but the free shutlle service helped. Pool was not in use and this was not informed with the reservation.
Friendly service,clean room,nice pool.Shuttle to airport I didn't have a balcony
Cleanliness and freindliness of the staff. The view from our room was overlooking the back parking lot and in the mornings it was noisy.
The beds are super comfy. The food from room service was great.
Great location as close enough to everything but enough distance to get out of traffic/congested areas. Room was comfortable and large enough for a family of 4. Grateful for the mini fridge and microwave. Went to grocery store so we could at least have some food in our room. Would stay again. Pool water was very warm and located with with hardly any shade. Could have misters out there to help with the extreme heat.
Reserved 2 rooms but when checking in the hotel showed only 1 room was reserved. Hotel staff had to scramble to accommodate us.
Floor level. Could not use.
Pool area, rooms, clean.
I felt comfortable and will come back again. Internet was very slow, and because of that I could not finish my work on timely maner. Slow internet.
The rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. The pool and beach area were extremely clean and well kept. The are plenty of water activities and beach games. The staff were friendly and helpful. The main part of Key West is only a 5 min walk for good food, shopping and nightlife. The bar shuts at 10pm every night even at the weekends! Not good if you just want to relax and enjoy a couple of drinks. Parking is at an extra cost of $15 a night which is not included in the $25 resort fee. There was no mention of this when booking.
We had a nice and spacious room with a balcony overlooking the sea. What we did not like is the fact that the hotel is made of several intricated buildings. Our kids's room was far from our room and from the lobby.
Location is wonderful. Step out of your room and directly to the beach. No Menu inside the room.
Nice location right by the beach and nice room with really comfortable king size bed. Noisy air condition in the room
Ive stayed here before and had an excellent experience, which was what prompted me to return. Unfortunately, this time did not meet my expectations of a Waldorf property. Upon arrival there was not a single employee outside the hotel. I unloaded all luggage myself. There's NO ramp at this hotel, so i had to lug every suit case up the stairs. Sweating in a suit and arms full of bags and suit case handles, a customer sitting in the lobby ran out to hold the door for me, and even said, "wow, you'd expect more from the Waldorf" to which i said, "you read my mind." The front desk attendant was polite and informed me that valet was at a staff meeting and she did help me with my bags to my room. Also, I ordered room service one night. Like the card said, i called the number to have them retrieve my tray, which i left outside of the door. 12 hours later when i was leaving in the morning, the tray was still there. I didn't have a horrible experience by any means. But given that this is a waldorf property, i expected excellence, and i did not experience that.
Dirty rooms and no ocean view with unfriendly staff!!!
Great location and friendly staff
The people where very nice, service was fast and accurate. The Cuban Sandwiches where very good. Great roast pork! I complimented the chef. The extra charge for parking. It seems petty to charge $20 per night that your 1 car is parked in the parking garage. the cost for the weekend was plenty. The breakfast was good but a little pricey.
View Dishonest staff with poor attitude. Bathroom in lobby was filthy. Poorly managed and needs updatng
The localization. The construction of the hotel almost inside the sea. The bridge over the sea. The garden and the lights at night... The vallet isn´t necessary at all. The Serbian recepcionist take an enternity with us and our bags all around the hotel from the lobby till the room.
It was clean and staff was friendly. The design of the hotel leading to the rooms was a maze for which I did not care for as it was confusing to find your room, elevators and parking garage. Also I did not realize that they charged for parking per day.
The location was great, staff very attentive and the decor was very contemporary and upscale. Better view from room.
Room very nice, loved the beach. Always enjoy the jazz in the evening, location excellent.
Absolute perfect location to experience all of Key West! Big bonus having the option to enjoy the beach/ocean and the pool. Will stay here again.
The hotel has its own beach. Lanai view was parking lot with plants taller than patio.
I liked the view from our room, and the restaurant attached to the hotel had great food. the town itself was excellent and beutiful. very over priced tho. the price was very high for what you get. The staff were only alright. the front desk staff were great, but the servers in the restaurant were very unpleasant and dident seem to care. although the food was great, the servers were not.
The spa was terrific (we went back for seconds) and the live music at the pool-side restaurant was lovely. This hotel was a bit pricey, considering the level of service.
great value for money. food was a bit pricey and left a bit to be desired.
PK staffers were very diligent in their quest to make the hotel first class. Thank you for your efforts! Our room phone never did work. Internet service was frequently interrupted. BR sink faucets functioned poorly. The White Sox did not win too many games.
Townhome style hotel rooms with porches and balconies. 4 pools. Shuttles to the beach. Next to Walgreens. Late check in time.
We loved the place, It was well kept and clean, had nice pools and outside bar. The staff is great and all you have to do is ask and it gets taken care of.
Beautiful resort with amazing gardens surrounding four pools. Reasonable price. Staff was very friendly. Wish I could have stayed longer!
Very nice and beautiful
Loved the resort and public areas. The bartender was the nicest lady I have ever seen. She made our trip. When we arrived at 6pm I was told my room was not ready as I had made my reservation an hour before....so I guess rooms don't get clean unless there are reservations made which made no sense.
Beautiful, large, quiet rooms; free parking Beach front but can't swim in the water.
The location was nice.... Too pricey for what you get. Don't expect to relax! More of a party hotel. Thought I was back in college but then I couldn't afford it.
Expensive for what you get. No extra incentives are included in what you pay for the rooms it all costs extra. Rather go to the marriott just down the road again.
Great location, high standard and reasonable price. And parking which was rare in that neighborhood.
not much very tiny, tiny bathroom. window was to look out at Duval street. impossible. rooms to small. stayed with because was a Crowne Plaza. was the worst one ever because of size and no BKF included. only friendly staff was the valet, probably for the tip. no thank-you, have a good day from from desk when checked out
The location is excellent. The room was very quiet and comfortable. One of the main reasons I booked here was because there was a pool at the site. It was very disappointing to find out upon arrival that the pool was not in service. The hotel should have given reserved customers advanced warning so that other arrangements could have been made.
the location was in the center of duval st. that is really all the good i have to say... I did not like that we had to walk through old, nasty water puddle to get to the pool from our location, I did not like the extremely high prices in the restaurant, and when we looked for breakfast the next morn, we were told it was a $16. buffet. I thought we were promised breakfast with our reservation, so we ate somewhere else, only to ask later about it and the front desk clerk looked at me like I was stupid, then reluctantly gave me a pass for the next day? Room way overpriced for not having a ceiling fan or a functional air conditioner, it was set for what the hotel obviously wanted the temp at...
Very professional Small bathroom
Rooms are small, over priced, front desk made us stay in lobby for an hour before checking in, (from 3:00 until 4:00) we were booked 2 weeks in advance.
Our room was charming and tastefully decorated--very Key West. Extremely quiet. Nice rooftop pool.
Comfortable room with couch (instead of the usual table & chairs), nice decor (shutters instead of blinds, marble bathroom vanity). A short walk to Mallory Square and many good restaurants. Construction was in progress on facade, so had to use side & back entrances, but noise wasn't an issue.
The best is the location. You don't need to use the car. It's clean. No charm. It's impersonal. It fright me when I find ear plug in the room and your wine come in a plastic cup!
The hotel is very centrally located, and has a nice lobby and bar, and the pool area looked good for families The room had no window and was extremely dark. Light bulbs were burned out and the bedspreads were very dingy and dirty looking. For the money I paid, this was extremely disappointing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The amenities and staff were outstanding. The location to all the hot spots in Key West was so convenient. We couldn't have asked more more. It made our wedding getaway that much more pleasurable. There was nothing that we didn't lik .
Very good location; own parking lot; roof-top bar; fresh fruits for breakfast
Really excellent suite. Luxurious and comfortable. There was confusion about how many of us were coming, blamed on using a third party website. Confusion sorted out at check in
a lovely hotel nice a quiet but within easy walking distance to duval street and noise and bustle. hotel staff could not be more helpful and polite. We are a family of four and found this place great
Beautiful facility, friendly staff, beautiful landscapping and good location. It was less than one block from the Atlantic ocean. Easy bike ride to any where else on the island. Quiet at night with scenic views from the multiple balconies in each suite. Not really.
the customer service was extraordinary. Everyone went out of their way to ensure that my entire family was happy. Free wine and cheese by the pool daily for the adults, and unlmited fruit smoothies and botttled water for the kids (all day). We were thrilled when muffins were delivered to the room every night for the morning. Chocolates on the bed etc...The concierge was great!!!
Ultra modern villa. We found the accomidations to be outstanding, so nice in fact we have already scheduled to return. Very, very, very nice. Not a thing we didn't like.
Everything was first class, from the suite itself to the staff. I had heard numerous good things about the hotel and I was not disappointed.
beautiful units with top range kitchen and bathroom fitments. staff exceptional and pool side bar supplied free soft drinks all day.
The Resort is fantastic - its was just as the website described. Nice touch with Fresh muffins & chocs at night.Cant wait to stay again.
The suite was beautiful and it included everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The location in town is great...close enough to Duval street, but not too close. The staff was very helpful.
beautiful accomodation, excellent service - nothing not to like! the beach wasn't great but there was a lovely bar/cafe nearby
very comfortable room, lovely pool. Fantastic view. Breakfast facilities, presumably temporary.
Clean and quiet. Airport next door but no flights over night.
The coffee provided at the continental breakfast was some of the hottest but also the best coffee I think I have ever had in that setting. The pool area was very nice, the bed was comfortable, and the view from our room was beautiful. The pool bar and food service shut down very early. I would have enjoyed the setting a bit better if they were available later in the evening. Especially during the summer when days are longer and evenings are warmer.
The staff was extremely friendly. Pool closed too early,
The size of the rooms Continental breakfast
The Breakfast, The Location.
Adequate facility; however, the staff was very indifferent after I slipped and fell on the very slick pool area. Got a quiet "sorry about that" and "we'll have a maintenance guy wipe up the water". I was walking at a normal gate and luckily, even though both feet went out from under me and my 8 eight old gave me an "8.5" for my air time, I just got a large hip bruise, but an older patron could easily have had a broken bone. Wasn't trying to get a free stay or anything but some minor concern would have been nice.
Great location, good easy parking, amazing pool w/ great views, good breakfast, friendly staff. air conditioning was too strong and next to the bed so I got a cold. Beds were small.
Dirty chairs in the room, balcony door not weather tight, Breakfast room much too small
The wonderfull surroundings and colourful houses and inspirational old houses and museums
The staff was very accomodating. We requested a change of rooms to have a ocean view and were provided the same . No room service
Very quiet, which is what we prefered. Breakfast was nice & a good variety. Room was comfortable and screened in deck was nice. Stayed in Room 220 which is a mini- king suite. There is a separate sitting area but not much in the way of accommodating a third person. The room decor was modern, but the tub was definately old cast iron (but really not an issue). Limited drawer space if you dont like to live out of a suitcase. Beach front, but not beach accessible. Smathers Beach is a decent mile walk. The staff was very accommodating & nice! Pool needed to be vacuumed. Not an elevator to the second floor.
The hotel was awesome i felt like if i was at home. I didnt like it i love it. I literally loved everything about the hotel. I would recommend it to everyone. I would stay here everytime i come to key west.
Convenient parking. Easy check in. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. I did not venture about as was a quick one night business visit, but the grounds are pleasant, secure. Very comfortable bed. A bit expensive for a single with parking lot view and strange, shared entry foyer. I guess it is meant as a sort of adjoining room for a larger group. Every time the neighbor came and went it was two slammed doors. The doors are real loud when they close. I felt self conscious and tried to close them more quietly when I cam and went.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful Due to an event in Key West we payed 400$/night which was very expensive! The hotel would have been a great value for 150-200$/night
4 pm check in, tile in bathroom was very slippery resulting in a fall, no counter space in the bathroom.
Liked the room Did not like the staff. Not friendly at all. Very rude.
Shuttle service was very convenient and helpful. Ron was an excellent driver who cares about his passengers. Check in and check out was easy as pie. Our room was spotless, as if Danny Tanner lived there himself. Parking fees are a bummer. I was sad when I heard the news. Our view from our room was a construction site...so we had to use our imaginations to see what was not there. A security guard made us uncomfortable by staring at my wife's beautiful legs. There needs to be more lizards and iguanas on the property.
Less than 3 min from key west airport! The hotel provides free shuttle to and from airport. We arrived airport and I called them and they were there in less than 10 minutes! The shuttle to take us back ran every half hour w/o a reservation. The pool is saltwater, clean, and nicely laid out to have a great cross breeze to beach if you don't want to get in the water your comfortable in lounge chair. We stayed in a standard king room, which was fine size for us (without cooking amenities). What wasn't great was that it was on 1st floor which is adjacent to N. Roosevelt Blvd, so the traffic can be loud and wake you up.
Room Clensines Service Happy hour Pool Hot tub $20 parking per night
comfy bed no windows really ugly far from town too expensive far better options
Fine location; dependabe aieport and downtown shuttle; excellent room amenities such as mattress, linens, towels, Parking was in a ground level garage; our room was on the 4th floor.
Very nice grounds right on the water. Pool, Jacuzzi and beach area were great. Shuttle provided to Duval which is a great value. Taxis would have been $40+. Nice restaurant and great staff
The room was very nice and luxurious. The hotel overall was clean and the staff was very friendly. Parking was convenient. Everything was and extra charge ie parking and breakfast. The "beach front" wasn't an ocean access which was very misleading. It was located far from most of the activities in Key West.
Room was clean, comfortable and fully equipped with necessities.
Continental breakfast is always a great way to start off your day at any hotel, wished the selection was better but at least the coffee was always hot. Beautiful pool area lots of seating but the tiki bar's food selection was also a bit limited. A lot of people were receiving noise complaints at the pool and rooms at 2 PM.... Its Key West so if you're planning on wanting peace and quiet you should probably stay in Marathon, and not blame the hotel for your poor choice in vacation destination... Parking is quite a problem at this location and forcing some people to park in random lots nearby, which is never a good idea in the Keys. The ice machines never seemed to be working well. The rooms are also very small, actually uncomfortable for 4 people to be in a room with two double beds. Most likely would stay here again, but not my first choice.
location and breakfast was pretty good... the room was a little warm for me...i set the thermostat to 68 degrees and the temp never dropped below 73 degrees...
The pool area was beautiful . It made you feel as if you were in the islands. There was plenty of comfortable seating including cabana style loungers to enjoy. All the staff helpful and pleasant . At the breakfast buffet the staff walked around to refill coffee, clear your tables and offer newspapers. There was plenty of free parking on site and rentals of motor bikes and bicycles.
Staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable.
The free shuttle into town and the staff there was friendly and very professional. Our room was very close to the main street into town which was noisy.
The rooms are always clean & fresh smelling. The staff are always wonderful. The hotel picture was not what the motel ended up being. Also it described it was waterfront when it wasn't. That was disappointing but not the end of the world.
Room 103. We had bathroom issues. Toilet did not flush. Bathtub did not drain during shower. Leak of unknown origin over floor and rug. 2 adult travelers. The pool was nice. See above. They did give us free breakfast as a compensation. We are looking into a rebate via our online booking site.
My wife and I loved the friendly staff; the location; the private courtyard sitting area; the beautiful, lush grounds; the attractive and comfortable room decor along with special amenities and condiments; and the free taxi services to and from special places of interest in the area. My wife and I will certainly seek out Courtyard by Marriott motels on all our future travels, as we could not have asked for a more positive experience.
The hotel was a dump
The leaf blowers outside my window at 8:00 am. Key West is a town where people like to sleep in when they are visiting, the landscaping guys running leaf blowers at such an early hour is not a good thing.
Basic room. Front desk concierge, Stephanie had an attitude that I reserved a room with an Amex when I don't even own one. I showed her the documents of the confirmation using my MasterCard. She continued to persist that I reserved it with an Amex and this is what happens if you book with a third party site.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Bike rentals at the hotel were very convenient. Good location, close enough to easily get to all the action with a bike i covered the whole town in a day and a half. AC worked great. Conveniently located by a strip club ;) Not the fanciest place i have stayed, but was a good value for the price and the location.
We loved this beautiful old hotel! Décor inside and out was lovely. Very clean. Nice pool. Tiki breakfast nook was good. Obviously taking good care of building. Freshly painted. Hotel staff helpful. Quiet neighborhood. Nice landscaping. We would come b No
Location and atmosphere and bike rentals. Needed more counter space in bathroom and towel hooks/bars.
proximity. not really.
Some of the other guests were interesting. Upon checking in precisely at 3:00 we went into our room. It was 206A on the second floor next to the office building. It was a glorified dorm room with a queen bed. We immediately went down to the office to see if we could upgrade. Could not accommodate.
Room was clean, but cramped with no desk. Excellent pool area. Hotel was too far from classic bars - a long walk to Duval.
The look Meh
Clean, quite, and comfy Parking, breakfast
The pool and the facilities were superb. The pictures did not lie which they very often do. It truly was a piece of paradise. The rooms were clean and well decorated, the bar was great, the reception area was great. When we arrived at lunch time on a Thursday they were pressure washing the hotel, which made a of noise, but we understand this is necessary at some point so it's not a big deal. We did encounter a bit of rude waiter at the bar. After we ordered a Cider the waiter asked my girlfriend:"Jeez, Where are you from?" Not quite sure why it matters if the waiter likes cider or not. On Saturday afternoon a party of 25 people came to the hotel with lots of grocery bags and started camping out at the pool with 6 children. We saw a lot of them leave through the back later in the day. They definitely did not all stay at the hotel.
Television didn't work, no one available to repair it. No coffee in the urn in lobby. Had to go to the bar for ice. See sbove
Tastefully done. Excellent staff, extremely helpful..
Room was comfortable and staff was courteous The gym had multiple exercise machines that were broken.
the employees were great
The pool area is really nice. It has a good bar and lots of space to lay down and relax. Very kid friendly. The pool is huge. The staff was also super nice and attentive. Also free parking, which is included in your resort fee. In the first room we stayed in the AC was extremely loud. My boyfriend barely slept because of the noise. The bed didn't have fitted sheets, it was just a large bed sheet tucked in. It came off in the middle of the night. After that's we were able to switch rooms at no extra cost which was great. This time the AC was okay but again no fitted sheet! The walking shower floor was very dirty. It wasn't a horrible stay but I didn't feel comfortable for the most part.
Hotel was clean, nice room, very comfortable bed. The pool was on the cool side. Hot was not working. Only regular coffee,no decaf.
Great staff, very helpful, quick wiht a smile. No problems whatsoever.
The front desk staff was outstanding. They were extremely helpful, friendly and eager to make our stay enjoyable. I want to especially mention Jenna, for her desire to do everything she could to make our stay comfortable. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The rooms facing the Main Street are subject to street noise at night. Avoid these rooms if your a light sleeper. We moved to a room facing the pool for the second night and it was much better.
nothing I book two double rooms, and when I got there, I got one room with a broken door, you cannot even open or shut that door by yourself. The other room only have one bed, and they asked one us to sleep in the tiny sofa there. And they did not informed us before we saw they room, and refused to give us whole refund. CHEATING customers. Your travelling mood will be killed if you stay in this hotel!
- Great Customer Service - King Bed felt wonderful - Rain shower felt amazing as well - Beautiful Pool side with Tiki Bar - Great Concierge Service - Before arriving, received text confirmation for a King size 2nd floor suite. Once we arrived, they mentioned that it wasn't available BUT we did obtain a King Suite that was close to the pool and entrance and the room was well maintained.
The pool was beautiful The toilet in our room overflowed the first night we stayed and they never fixed it. They gave us a plunger. We used the bathroom by the pool for the remainder of our stay which was an entire day and night. When we checked in the room phone didn't work and once again they never fixed it. They said they would call someone but they didn't. It was not fun going to the bathroom in the middle of the night outside the room in our PJs and not being able to call the front desk to complain. Also it was close to $700 for the nights. Way too expensive to use a bathroom by the pool and not be able to call the front desk
location and surroundings - beach no, they did end up putting us in a larger cottage - 2 bedrooms instead of the quaint 1 bedroom we were expecting.
If you can afford to splurge on your accomodations, this is the place. A skip across the water with all the access to Key West but a nice break away from it too.
My wife and I travel often and like to stay in nice places. Sunset Key is the best by FAR! Get there before you die. You will never forget it. We find ourselves comparing every other vacation to our time spent at Sunset Key.....nothing compares.
We had an amazing stay at this facility. The cottages are extremely comfortable and romantic. The views were only surpassed by the company I was with.
My husband and I spent our 39th anniversary at Sunset Key Cottages and were delighted by the peaceful setting and easy access to old town Key West. The cottages are spacious and beautifully appointed, the beds are indeed ''heavenly,'' and the garden views are as pretty as the ocean views. Bring your beach shoes because the beach is pristine and private but the shells can be sharp. Dinner served on the beach under a full moon was the crowning touch and we will definitely be back.
I am writing this review almost a year after out vacation at Sunset Key. Yet, I feel a wave of calm wash over me as I reflect on our stay. It is a lovely place. Lush landscaping, white sand beaches, an occasional hammock overlooking the water, quiet. It's a short ferry ride away from the hustle and bustle of Key West. Yet, it's a world away. We visited Key West daily during our stay, but always looked forward to returning to our retreat. The restaurant is fabulous. Excellent food, excellent service, with outside tables at the edge of the white beach. We enjoyed it so much that we ate lunch and dinner there almost every day. The cottages are every bit as lovely as the photographs on the website. The porch was a delightful place to spend each morning reading over the complimentary paper that had just been delivered along with a basket of freshly-prepared pastries. I cannot wait to go back.....
First time writing a review. Very disappointed in our stay (we are still here). Couple points - Positives 1) fantastic setting and the Cotteges are solid - great for families 2) Latitudes restaurant is very good Negatives 1) Check in is a difficult - The cotteges are a sub set of the Weston Sunset Key resort. The cotteges are supposed to be high end - We checked in and had to wait 15 to 20 minutes for someone to show up at the desk. After waiting - for awhile - three people showed up all at once from the back 2) Concierge - booking things to do in advance was nearly impossible - we called three times in advance. Once - we were put on hold and I gave up. Second time it just rang. And third time - she said she'd call back and never did. Finially - we called a fourth time and got ahold of someone who was helpful. That said - Jenny (from Wisconsin) is fantastic. She has been great since we've been here 3) Beach - bring your shoes. Its exceptionally rocky. Fine when you are wearing surfing ...
I would definitely stay here again. The island is serene, beautiful, and only a 5 minute ferry ride from Key West. The new Latitudes restaurant is wonderful - excellent cuisine, attentive service, and right on the beach (some tables are even set in the sand!).
Every time we come back to Sun Set Key it gets better! This is our favorite family Vacation.
Absolutely loved this hotel . would most definitely go back .
The location is good. Close to the downtown. Our room. It was next to the service area. They parked their cleaning dolly's in front of our window and had loud conversations from early morning. We couldn't look out the window as the maids were right in front. So much for ocean view. The door stuck to the point my wife couldn't open it. The AC unit was very noisy. Like on old ice machine. We experienced this when we returned from dinner and a night out so it was late evening, we didn't mention until check out. We we mentioned the morning of check out they were indifferent. Said we should have called maintenance in the middle of the night,
Partial ocean-view room had a great balcony with a beautiful view. Room was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the hammocks at the Sand Bar and watching the sunset from the pier. Great location on the water, but close enough to Duval Street to enjoy all the restaurants and clubs with ease. The hotel restaurant was also exceptional. Would definitely recommend!
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rena and Luis were great staff that made our stay extra pleasant. My husband and I are expecting our first child and they surprised us with sparking cider cookies and a baby picture frame. Rena especially went out of her way to make our stay and enjoyable one. We decide to stay four nights instead if two and they discounted our rate. I didn't want to leave.
Ocean view with balcony sitting area. Pool with bar and food available. Quiet but an easy walk to all the fun of Duval street.
Nice and clean facilities, friendly staff, and location was outstanding. Love the hammocks for taking a nap in the afternoon. For the price you pay, the rooms are a little on the small side. After an evening on Duval Street, went back for a nightcap with my son. The rum runner I ordered tasted a little funny, but my son and I agreed it was ok. After drinking it, was advised by bartender he made it with all 151 rum because he was out of Bacardi at the time, "hope that was ok." Not what I needed for a nightcap. Another bartender on site, Arjay, was outstanding and personable.
Beautiful, great staff. I stayed last year with a friend and we had a great time. This year I had found out it had bought buy a corporation. What this proved to show to me is, no more smoking anywhere on the premises, jacked up prices, and no floaty's. In the pool. No robes or conditioner in the bathroom. Although small things, it really changed the experience when I had previously been so impressed. Will be looking for a new getaway next visit to key west.
Rooms and food were amazing. Beautifully kept facility. Great views and nice beaches.
Staff was exceptionally friendly and responsive; location was a quick walk to anywhere; rooms were quiet and comfortable. There's a nice Cuban food stand across the street for a quick breakfast. The poolside staff made sure we had what we needed at all times and the lunches they deliver to poolside from the cafe' were great. Couples' massage was very relaxing. Can't wait to return!
