The level of service of the Hilton Chain and its luxury
Pleasant and helpfull staff ,good atmosphere in hotel The hotel has a lovely bar however at 14 euros for a beer you won't stay long
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Refreshing to get this kind of service...
I was pleasantly surprised that such comfortable and business-friendly property at the heart of Paris existed. Aside from the rate, I think the hotel was excellent in all aspects for a person travelling on business who has a little spare time for some leisure. As I stated, I thought the rate was a bit on the high side given it's location.
Service was excellent, and the Purple Bar was Fantastic.
Not bad, quite expensive, especially when you factor in that you have to pay €21 extra per day per computer (we're two people with two laptops) for internet, plus quite a bit more for taxes and breakfast and parking. Ultimately our €475 room came to about €750 per night with all the extras. Room service food is outrageously expensive - €36 for breakfast - plus tax, gratuity, room service fee, all comes to about €55 and that's if you don't tip the guys either. And, watch the bill, they have habit of charging for extra items that should be included in your breakfast set. The staff were mostly efficient but cold or indifferent and the maid's service was either dumb or lazy or both. They'd always miss things or forget to clean our room or leave the breakfast tray in the room while cleaning everything else. I guess that's room service's job, not theirs?
central location in room tv very bad overall: choice of channels, image, etc air con would only heat and not cool-only way to sleep was to open window
The room and comfort of the bed and friendliness of the staff could not get selection of movie channels and had no confirmation from the engineer sent to the room as to when it would be operational again.
Location great, friendly helpful staff, they had flowers, champagne and cake in room on arrival, beautiful touch.
Bor her gjerne igjen :) Vi opplevde flere ganger at resepsjonistene stod å kranglet åpenlyst.
Ingen kjøpsmuligheter for drikke & snacks.Dette kan lett løses ved at resepsjonen har ett begrenset utvalg.
Very good location just few steps from Champs Elysees and metro station. prices
Hotel staff, services, Staff courtesy
Old world style. Staff excellent. Very personal.
great location, good staff, large room, happy overall Quite expensive. The early morning noise mentioned by some reviewers is true & we experienced this on both days of our stay.
The staff - everyone is very helpful wifi should be more accessable almost everywhere within the hotel
The Sofitel Hotel is well located and within walking distance of the Champ Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe as well as the Charles De Gaulle Metro. This allows for good connectivitey. There are also some good inexpensive eateries nearby. We mentioned that we were coming on the Honeymoon in our notes but we were treated as if I was the Sole occupier of the room. The Honeymoon touch was missing a bit especially since we read about another review who were treated specially for theri honeymoon.
airconditioning was not very effective despite my changing the room.
Overal was good. Room service selection was limited in choices. I Bar only have French Menue and no English. No English Channel on TV only CNN. Mentioned above
The location is just fantastic - the hotel is located in 2 minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees, with nice shops and restaurants all around! Hotel staff is nice. Breakfast was very nice with a good variety, a bit expensive though (31 euros per person, free for kids). Free internet in room (luxury room). Variety of tv channels was very poor.
The rooms are great as are the staff.
Hospitality of hoel staff At 29 euros per person, breakfast is quite expensive.
Atendimento da recepção e concierge. Housekeepers should make less noise and be more gentle when closing the room doors. They should start working after nine o´clock and attend the customers requirements more acurately. Matress is too softy and unconfotable and unable to provide a good sleeping.
Severly understaffed and any service requested takes quite a while. Rooms were not cleaned on on time, until we requested specifically to clean them in the evening. Turndown service was done on 1 day of 4. Used glasses from the minibar were not replaced for 3 days. Waited 1 hour for check-in after arriving at 4pm on a Friday. etc.
position room is small
The best of staying at the Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg was the location, courteous service, the size and the quietness of the room. Although it was very charming, our two floor suite, it was difficult for us to tote our luggage and packages on the semi spiral staircase. The neighborhood was not very convenient in terms of neighborhood bakery, restaurants, pharmacies, or convenience stores. The hotel computer room was a sauna closet and with the prices we paid, free internet should be available hotel-wide.
location the classic room.
What I like best about the hotel is its location. It is situated in the middle of a great shopping area and is very convenient.
location is perfect... rooms are very comfortable...
service is good and the bathrrom is good.
Nice room, comfy lobby, good location in tourist district. Very easy to access museums and beautiful old town Paris. Spa very small, concierge gave lousy restaurant recommendation (tourist trap). Great place to stay, wander outside district for food and more authentic Paris experience.
The bed was absolutely amazing - lovely soft duvet and pillows Over priced bar in room. Internet 10 euros for 30 minutes
the location is exellent very different from last years both for the level af rooms and for the services
Location reddiculous price of their continental breakfast of 30 Euro
we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the lovely room.the location was outstanding and staff very helpfull our shower screen was off the rollers but it didn't cause us any grief
Hotel stuffs, and concierge were very kindly. Also, room and bath was very clean. Location was nice.
Courteous, professional staff. Central location.Comfortable plush rooms. No tea/coffee making facilities or indeed mini-bar in the room which is surprising giving the standard of the hotel.
Rooms too small, expected larger as per booking info
Our stay at the Hotel Balzac was wonderful. Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated, as was the rest of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and attended to our every need.Great location too!
the fast service in the hotel was great , the location was excllent , the breakfast was bad no food varaities .
Hotel very near Chapms Eleysee, shops and restaurants. Prices in bar very very expensive. Breakfast very expensive at 28 euro each.Had breakfast outside hotel at 1/4 of the price.
The proximity to all the central areas of Paris and also it was very quite and a very beautiful hotel. The breakfast was very expensive and not worth the money.
This is a very nice hotel at a distinctive location location in Paris. The staff are so helpful, I was helped by a professional concierge team who spoke excellent English and know Paris attractions very well. The staff was polite, food was good, and the facilities are all clean and up to date.
Reception & Concierge Staff were knowledgeable, helpful, & courteous Didn't give me good directions to their Garage when asked, as it's very difficult to find
It was a great location, people were very polite..Would go back again On Saturday I rented a car for 4 hours and had a personal tour of Paris in a Mercedes Benz..Cost $370.00 Euros..Great!!!!On Tuesday I booked car to take me to the airport but did not ask the price as I trusted the people to be fair...When I checked out of the hotel they put the charge on my invoice 320.00 Euros for a 35 minute ride to the airport..I guess they didn't think I would notice..After haggling they lowered the price to 277.00 Euros which was still way too high..Be aware that as they were very nice if you let your guard down for a second these people will grab every pennie they can from your wallet!!!!!!
Location of the hotel Overpriced
our money was stolen from our room when we were out for disney land!! we found this on the last day when we should check out. the hotel promised to invistegate and get back to us but as of now and despite of all remiders we didnt get any reply from thier side. our money was stolen from our room when we were out for disney land!! we found this on the last day when we should check out. the hotel promised to invistegate and get back to us but as of now and despite of all remiders we didnt get any reply from thier side.
nothing. The hotel is very bad and very expensive it is fare away from the normal Marriot standart. I am negativly suprices. Over all the price is absolutely not corresponding with the quality of the rooms especially. I will never choose more that hotel
It was very convenient , the staff were very friendly.
location room cleanliness and set_up
very noesy the room is two levels which make very diffecult to move and less space nothing
Seasonal decorations are amazing in the lobby. There is a grand Christmas tree that is very welcoming and adds a cozy atmosphere. Location is great as well. Being walking distance to the Arc de Triomphe and 20 mins walk to the Eiffel was great. Also, there is the FDR metro line 1 steps from the hotel. This is an added bonus as the metro line is a great way to navigate the city. Champs Elysees was beautiful during Christmas time. The entire avenue was lit up with Christmas lights. The staff was attentive for the most part. They provided outlet converters, and a lint brush for my wool jacket. The breakfast though expensive was delicious. Marriott has an american feel to their menu which is a plus. The check in was surprising lacking. We waited 4 hours at the hotel to check in after flying 20+ hours. It was a dismal experience that I would like to forget. Upon entering the room I was further disappointed with the design, size and view for the money i spent - $500+ per night. The decor didn't feel parisian at all (Although a subjective statement, I have other hotels in paris to compare the marriott too) It isn't that the bed wasn't comfortable, or that the bathroom wasn't great -it was. It had a large tub and bath salts, but i could have received those benefits with their basic room. The skyline view was a joke! It was a view of the vents and smoke billowing off the roofs of the next door neighbor hotels and there was nothing worth noting from our vantage point. My recommendation is that either you go all out and book the champs elysees view (street view) or book the cheapest room they have. I regret booking my room and wish I could have spent the money elsewhere.
Convenient location and nice room the lack of service
The location is very good. Unfortunately there are a lot of management issues there. The front desk, the concierge and the stuff of the lobby bar are nothing to do with the efficiency expected from a five stars hotel stuff.
The bed, super comfortable. 1. Bed is queen size bed, not as advertised king size, but as we had a 3 years old son, they provided a separate bed for free. 2. There was a redecoration work going on while we stayed, it was so noisy and really they didn't respect that people want quietness when they go to hotels.
Friendly helpful staff. Price of the breakfast.
Proximity to Cahmps Elysees Avenue. Good service and cleanliness. Small rooms and less options; e.g. they couldn't provide us with connecting rooms although the booking was done 6 weeks in advance and the above was mentioned during the booking and confirmed later over the phone with the hotel directly.
Fantastic breakfast but make sure its covered by room price.Very convenient for Metro and Champs Elysees None bur the odd lightbulb needed rplacing. Small points but there. Perhaps not the interest in spending money when refurb due.
location poor advice from concierge
Friendly and helpful staff and nice room WIFI at our room was a bit weak. Main elevator was not working and everyone had to use staff elevator instead, which is a bit small.
The staff was so friendly & the hotel location was ideal we had so much fun there I'm going to stay there next visit to paris
I booked this hotel because it was listed on the leading small hotels of the world. This recommendation has not failed me. I have traveled to paris and the rest of europe to know that the standards are different than four plus hotels in the usa. The hotel vernet did have good sized rooms and our room had a balcony which is great. The bedding was excellent. The staff was excellent, including front desk personel, the concierge was fabulous, as well as the bellman, bartenders, and wait staff in the dining room. All the employees addressed me by name after the first day. That shows how much they put themselves out. Lights in the bathroom were not adequate for shaving or applying makeup. Pillows were foam which we don't like. Should be feather pillows.
Small, quaint, quiet. The rooms need updating.
from the moment we set foot in hotel there was nothing that the staff couldn't do for us..very helpful and courteous.really made my stay in Paris something to remember for a while..loved the personalized welcome letter .
Location was approperiate for my business meetings around the city. Poor value for money. Absolutely not a 4 star Paris standards. Extremely small room. Unheated bathroom. Aminities were not regularly refreshed. Decor of reception and public areas is basic and rundown.
The friendliness of the staff, the service and the centrality of the hotel. Thank you. It was a pity that the restaurant was closed.
the rooms were very clean and nicely decorated, the employees were very nice and proffisional, and the location was just excellent as Vernet St. was located by champs elysee and george VI road. Hotel Lobby was small and the internet connection was very low.
The location is excellent as it is behind Champs Elysees but yet very quiet. The staff, especially the concierge is very helpful and they all speak excellent English. The walls between the rooms are a little thin. I could hear footsteps and voices from the other room when it was occupied.
Reseption personnel, consierge. Breakfast service appalling, tables not cleaned. Slow service.
Helpful staff. Good service. Lovely room Very expensive breakfasts. 29E for Continental and 35E for American!!
Lack of identity of the hotel
The hotel staff was very fair in giving a lot of good informations about Paris and to book restaurants and to confirm our flights, etc. ; there are just a friendly atmosfere. it wasn't possible to do a good regulation of the room air condition.
breakfast choice and quality not up to 4* standard. no shower curtain meant bathroom floor was constantly soaked.
We had a wonderful, six-day, Parisian experience at the Hotel de Sers, located in the elegant Champs Elysees district and very close to the metro and upscale restaurants. The staff was consistently helpful and accommodating in their efforts to obtain tickets, give restaurant recommendations, make reservations, call taxis, provide maps and directions, serve in the restaurant, etc. Upon arrival, we were allowed to check in early. This was much appreciated after many hours of overnight travel. Accolades for Fernanda at the reception desk as well as the concierge (I can not remember his name!) for providing outstanding service in a cordial, welcoming atmosphere. Our room was not spacious, however, comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean. Would recommend taking advantage of a room rate that includes at least a continental breakfast, as the breakfasts are very costly.
Great service and rooms. Well-designed.
The location was very good. It was definitely not a luxury hotel. Room was directly over the hotel courtyard that had been converted to a banquet facility and was extremely noisy. Fitness center had only one treadmill and one piece of equipment. Beds and pillows were not very comfortable.
Wonderful experience and very polite staff. Definite recommendation if you want to spend a deluxe weekend in Paris. Minibar was not very complete
Literally a minute from Champs Elysees. Complimentary breakfast; expected a little more than just breads, croissants, cup of fruit and juice.
The entire atmostphire is elegance and relaxed Nothing
Hotel Plaza Athenee (HPA) is the definition of superlative luxury. As an American in Paris, to be welcomed into The HPA is, in a profound sense, to be welcomed into the heart of France . . . into Parisian luxury. I must, in truth, admit that I am a person of exacting standards (my professional life requires such standards). Thus, for me to state highly complimentary remarks about a hotel amounts to deeply resonant truth. And too, I am deeply aware that the world contains people who have great means and those who have little or no means. Given this as background, my fervent wish is that all persons could experience the luxurious delight of The Hotel Plaza Athenee.
Loved the location and the decorations. The staff where friendly and helpful I was not satisfied with the room I got (first floor and no view) other than this, I liked it
Service at check in and the restaurant was good. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was very convenient. I made the mistake of leaving a large amount of cash in my backpack and found over €1000 was missing when I came back in the evening, and the room hadn't even been fully cleaned. At least they were nice enough to leave some of my cash (probably with the hope I wouldn't count it and notice), but didn't bother to re-pack my bag which led me to be suspicious. I've been traveling for 20 years and stayed in 100s of hotels (both luxury and low cost) and never had anything taken, so was very disappointed to have it happen for the first time here. When I notified the front desk they laughed and pointed out that they're not responsible for valuables left in the room and that I should have known better. In their favor, the general manager did respond to my email apologizing and said he will look into it. I will not be staying in San Regis ever again.
Superb location, especially for those who like shopping very expensive prices for mini bar, room service and restaurants
Really a lovely stay! Hotel staff were very friendly and hotel facilities were really very good Just a couple of matters:
The SPA center.
The greatest hotel breakfast buffet in existence. Eclectic retro design by Philippe Starck. Giant bathrooms. Cool tv in mirror with ability to aitply your device. Stunning linen sheets. Delicious Cafe Lait in tall insulated glasses. Lovely staff. The indoor pool is gorgeous with water bike and supplied goggles and flippers. The wifi was very slow and would sometimes not work at all. Our last day they reset it on our floor and it worked better but only slightly. Room service and restaurant were so expensive (breakfast was included but is 68 euro if not) that it was ridiculous. 33 euro for a caeser salad for example. 18 euro for French fries. It is two blocks from Etoile 1 metro but the area was very quiet with few stores unless you went over to the Champs. You need to travel a ways to get to less name brand shopping or boutiques. But all easy by a metro or usually two. Can't do much about that but thought I should mention. But none of these things would stop me from returning. It was a terrific hotel.
It was great, we're going back! Problems with the enter cards of our room
