Ulemper: "The 14 hour flight lacked wifi access and there was no sense of importance to investigate by the crew. In an era when downtime is utilized to stay ahead of work, strong wifi is one of the most crucial requirements for me to elect an airline. Even if all else is good, poor wifi is a deal killer."

Fordeler: "I had never heard of Qatar Airways before I booked a 24hr flight to and from Sydney, Australia. I only did this on the suggestion from a friend that stated Qatar Airways was "alright". So for the price I thought what the heck! I was extremely pleased with the service from the cabin crew. They are always polite, professional, and well trained compared to my previous favorites Delta and Lufthansa. The seats were comfortable (as comfortable as Economy and 24hours of flying can be), the entertainment and aircraft were state of the art, and the food was outstanding for airline food. If I get the chance in the future I will definitely choose Qatar Airways for long trips."

Ulemper: "I will never ever fly Qatar airlines again. The boarding for this flight in Doha was horrendous. I and a random group of passengers were made to wait with no explanation AFTER our electronics were already cleared to go through yet another security check. They said we were selected for screening but all the other people they took before us were screened the exact same way. It was stressful and traumatizing to stand for 45 minutes with no clear explanation. The crew were clearly new at their job or ill trained. On top of that they consistently ran out of food they were serving and was forced to take the vegetarian option when it's not what I wanted. I could not wait to leave Doha and exit Qatar airways. I hated my experience traveling with Qatar. It was stressful and traumatic. I want a full refund. I will also be advising all my friends to never fly Qatar. It was the WORST!"

After 20-30 minutes of wait, I finally got my ticket but the security and custom lines were very long by that time. Never flying Qatar again."

Ulemper: "I asked the Chinese flight attendant in economy to please ask the man in front of me to put his seat up since the captain and purser had already asked us to do so in three languages The man in front of me refused to do so. She said she was going to start at the front of the plane and let him leave his seat back making it difficult to see my tv monitor. I thought that she should’ve said that it was time to put your seat up. It was frustrating that she didn’t support me and the request of the captain. Your seats are very uncomfortable upright when the person in front of you has their seat back."

I was under the assumption the extra charge would give me a seat with only one extra person next to me. On both flights to and from JFK I was seated in a row with 3 seats and not the last row as promised. Just wondering if a refund for the extra charge would be possible."

No objection to them sitting together but how is it possible that they’re in that situation to begin with. Flight was overbooked so crew offering cash to delay for a later flight, which on a Sunday evening is an unappetising proposect"

Fordeler: "I was upgraded for some reason and holy cow was it awesome. Amazing food with more choices of what to eat. Massager in the chair and it nearly lied flat. So amazing and the perfect way to travel on a long flight"

Fordeler: "Swiss is already a great company and yesterday it just got better : I got upgraded on business class between Geneva and New York and it was a very nice treat, the service was perfect, the food excellent, the seat was very comfortable. Thank you SWISS !"
Fordeler: "The plane was comfortable. The headrest was great and the seat pitch and recline were decent. I was able to sleep better with Swiss than with other airlines like Lufthansa or Delta. They are much better overall for sure. The food and staff were excellent! The food quality is very good compared to the other airlines. The cabin crew are always passing around water and chocolates throughout the flight. They were friendly and helpful as well. The pilots were also very good. We had no rough turbulence and their landing skills were amazing."
Ulemper: "The boarding procedures could be improved. They don't have zones and everybody just line up. Families with small children are not accomodated first."
Fordeler: "I got ill on my flight to Zurich and the Swiss Flight Attendants attended to me like true professionals. They made sure I was comfortable until we landed which meant the world to me considering I was SO far away from my home. I'd like to especially acknowledge Frank, one of the attendants, who sat next to me to make sure I did not feel alone while I was sitting in the back with ice on my head, and felt like the world was spinning. He was my point of trust and warmth. That was not only extraordinary service, but human compassion at it's finest. Furthermore, the head attendant, who's name I could not get in the haze of the flight, escorted me from the plane to the cart who took me to the lounge to recover until my next flight. Thank you, Swiss Airlines, for having employees who knew how to triage my illness, and took care of me like family would. I appreciate it greatly and will surely be booking all my future European flights on Swiss. Please extend my gratitude to the flight crew on my Athens - Zurich flight on 5/28."
Fordeler: "Not anything to rave about. The in-flight entertainment was bland - fortunately the flight was only 2 hours. There were various TV screens that could be seen, but no way to listen. In this case it wasn't a loss because I noticed that they were showing cartoons, even though there were no children on board. The snack was a simple sandwich, a little smaller than the size of a hotdog bun. Supposedly it was an artesian Swiss sandwich, but I think they could have done better. Overall, I'm happy with Swiss Air, and would definitely fly with them again."
Fordeler: "Staff was gracious and accommodating for whatever we needed. It felt much better than typical economy class. It made the 8 hour plus flight quite manageable."

Ulemper: "The baggage drop attendant was very unhelpful when I asked if she could help me sort out an issue (when I checked in online for the second leg of my trip, i paid for my bag then but they wanted me to pay again for my first flight) and just dismissed me and said she couldn't help, making me pay again for my bag. First time I've ever had an unpleasant experience with Delta."

Ulemper: "Impossible to figure out what to do in Toronto at Canadian Customs. You move from secure to unsecure then back to secure. It’s a mess and nobody tells you what to do or where to go. Picture process took 4 times. Nobody tells you that you have to transfer your own bags from Delta to West Jet. I even asked in a Toronto and they said no and nobody in Atlanta told me to collect my bags. So bags never made it until the next AM. The West Jet rep was very good and located the bags and they were delivered as promised. You should provide 3 page detailed instructions on how to handle Toronto. I am a seasoned traveler by the way. I’ve never seen anything worse. I could go on and on."

My prearranged seat choices were switched to a no recline rows and rebooking after a unnecessarily missed connection became 7 step comedy of errors ,aside from quality aircraft this felt like a budget operation."

To make things worse, the entertainment screen was broken. It did not respond to touches. More of an ordeal than entertainment. To top it all, the current flight info (e.g. time at departure & destination, flight duration) was all wrong. Not a pleasant experience."

Fordeler: "That a delta plane actually had seat back video screens- First delta flight ever that I've been on that did. But every ones screen froze up just over an hour into the flight."
Ulemper: "Even though the Atlanta to Toronto arrived 'early' I had barely 20 minutes to get to the other plane- I would not have made it with out the amazing staff of weather and the Toronto airport. I use a wheelchair and even zipping through as fast as I could I was 15 minutes late arriving at the gate. I booked this flight thinking I had at least and hour and a bit between flights. Thankfully others on my flight were also late so the Ottawa bound plane did not leave on time"

We had to stand in line for an hour and a half just to hand over our laptops, where for some reason they decided to have only 2 people handling the process which created a huge line. The flight was 1:30 late and as we landed, there was no method to the delivery of the laptops to people. I had to wait almost 2 hours to get my laptop. Again, they only had 2-3 people handling the distribution of the laptops. I understand the security issue, but this issue was known for weeks now and there is no reason not to have enough people on the ground to take care of the boarding and distribution of electronic devices to at least make this an easier experience. There is no excuse for such poor preparation and service."

Ulemper: "I made it to the flight gate 15 minutes before the plane took off. The crew could not re-open the doors to let me in. I was late; this is understandable. However, after that, this was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. WHY WERE THE REST OF MY FLIGHTS CANCELLED? I paid for those, and I should have been allowed to be on those flights. WORST FLIGHT EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE."
Ulemper: "Flight was delayed but that wasn't the main problem. Went to the wrong gate for my connecting flight, Turkish air rep at the gate checked my boarding pass, didn't say a word about me being at the wrong gate. Tgere was no announcement of any kind (found out later, Turkish sir doesn't do announcement at the Istanbul airport. No clue as to why). Thought, tgere was another delay and by the time I asked, it was too late to catch my flight and that's when I got a full dose of every single person w Turkish air trying to stiff me with the most outrageous penalty for changing Nguyen my ticket. Started out at $1114 on a $758 ticket, then went down to $925 and if I stay over night, down to $750. Seriously? Rude, talking down at me and telling me that if I don't pay the penalty, my return ticket will be cancelled. I keep getting bounced from one person to another being told to wait here and wait there then I finally got so sick of all of it, bought a new connecting flight online, spending the night in Istanbul and will see what will happen w my return flight to the US. I call this 'theft' as, if i buy an entire new ticket from Istanbul to Cairo then back to the US online, it will cost me less than the penalty they're trying to get me to pay. Shame on you Turkish airline!! You'd think w all the issues they're having w tourism in their country these days they'd care about not doing this kind of mistreatment of their clients."
Fordeler: "The food and entertainment on the plane"
Ulemper: "The Turkish Airlines staff can be very rude, non-communicative in passing along information. They do not like you to ask questions nor do they want to answer your questions. They yell at you or just simply ignore you. No legroom. The crew did not mention that are flight was delayed prior or that we missed our connecting flight and what to do from there. I was given a hotel room during my layover but its in a scary neighborhood and it smells like sewage is nearby. The Grand Yavaz. The cheaper price is not worth the hassle. I can spend my good money elsewhere...i will be sure to warn others."
Ulemper: "Flight was delayed for 1.5 hours from its scheduled departure time. Upon arrival to Boston airport, it took a long time to find gate and disembark. As a result, I missed my boat ride connection. I had to incur hotel fees and be late for my business appointment the next morning."

The entire row behind me had 1 adult & 2 children. 2 Hours into the flight, there were 4 children, no adults and the seats were used as a playpen. 7 hours of kicking, punching the screen, opening the window shutter during "sleeping time" as instructed by the crew. Wine was poured on my back, water splashed on the person next to me, children were climbing over my head... etc. No parents or flight attendants could help the situation. Boarding was a mess. 10-15 passengers surrounding me sat anywhere they wanted creating a delay to push back because everyone just sat with their family and disregarded the chaos it created for those individual travelers wanting to sit in "THEIR PROPER SEAT". This was the worst / never ending flying experience I've ever had. I will never fly Turkish Airlines again."

Fordeler: "The food was delicious. I have never had better airplane food. The movies were super new and interesting. I did not have time in the 11 hours of flying to watch all the movies I wanted to. The flight was also incredibly smooth."
Ulemper: "There were a few small things that could have been better (Which I'll mention), but the worst thing about the flight was the airport. Ataturk Airport is a mess. After the attempted coup, they really upped security, forcing all international flights to go through a second security screening after transferring from another airport. It's understandable but the line moved at a molasses-like speed when I had only 25 minutes to make my connecting flight. The security personnel were rude, as well. Also, when I went to make my connecting gate in Cairo, there was no one at the gate after the required boarding time (Because security had held us up), forcing some of us to board the plane without having anyone to show us onto the plane (Very scary). The flight boarding was chaotic, and no announcements were made about what we were supposed to do. Besides the lack of boarding gates, the only other serious complaint I had against Turkish Airlines (Because it really was great overall) was that the pilots and flight attendants were very hard to understand. I have taught ESL for the past 5 years, and I still had a hard time as an American understanding their English. Also, they frequently didn't understand or misunderstood questions that I would ask them. I've never had a hard time understanding flight attendants on an international flight, but I only understood about 20% of what anyone said over the loud speaker in the plane. And it's nice to be able to understand when the pilot says, "We are experiencing some turbulence and would like everyone to buckle their seatbelts until it passes." Two small things remain: 1. The bathroom trash cans were full on every flight (A small thing but makes everything feel "trashy"). 2. The flight attendants seemed unhappy, and they definitely seemed unhappy to be serving us. I can only assume they are that way because they aren't treated particularly well by their bosses."

Ulemper: "There's always a problem with people trying to sit in different (e.g., my) seats, and people get up and try to exit the plane before it has even taxied off the runway."
Ulemper: "The flight from DXB was delayed, causing us to miss the connection to LIS in IST. 2 hours after standing at the transfer desk they put us on a flight to LIS via CDG. Luggage was kept in IST. Now we are in LIS with no luggage and no confirmation on its whereabouts. Lost and found staff at LIS (Portway) showed total confusion in claiming luggage was in CDG. Today two planes arrived in LIS from IST, none of them with our luggage. Screen shows my name with mention "Not loaded" regarding the luggage. This incompetence is unacceptable from "Europe's best airline". This title is misleading advertising and should not be allowed."
Fordeler: "I like the fact that for almost 11 hours I was fed, entertained, and was able to rest. The flight crew was very hospitable and I would very much recommend it to others. The price was also very reasonable, unlike United or some other major carriers. It says something about your airline when I decide to fly through Istanbul, coming from Rome, to go back to the US. It's a longer flight but it's a worthwhile one. Thank you and keep up the good work."

Ulemper: "Seat pitch is very short on the Airbus A330 for an average person’s height allowing for very limited body movability making it extremely uncomfortably especially on long flight durations."

Ulemper: "Make a rule that people cannot put their seats back. People in front of us were rude and kept their seats back the entire flight, even after we nicely asked them to not have the seats back so far. Would prefer that seats did not move at all. I would never recline my seat in consideration for the person behind me. On an 11 hour flight, this is a big deal."
Ulemper: "Agent changed our flight to Munich and sent as a email with with confirmation on July 10. involuntary. On July 20. I checked Lufthansa app and found that only flight that was shown was flight Toronto-Thunder Bay. After 3 hours of phoning I found that flight from Munich to Toronto wasn’t available for date that was given us in email. Only option was day earlier or later. Left us to take day earlier and we could not changed last flight( Toronto- Thunder Bay). We had to come on Aug 22. and stay in Toronto for 27 hours and than take a flight to Thunder Bay on Aug 23. We lost a day of our vacation, had to stay at hotel. Not good experience at all. We still don’t know whom to complain about that."
Ulemper: "Only reason I chose Lufthansa was that I was informed that 23kg of checked in luggage was included. It was NOT. I don't care whose fault it is. Lufthansa still says that this is included on their website. I demand reimbursement."
Ulemper: "A delay due to an electrical storm prevented us from taking off for over an hour which we had to wait to end on the plane."

Ulemper: "Our plane sat on turnac in Toronto waiting for a parking gate for 30minutes making us miss our connecting flight. Finally arrived but missed our train to Florence had to stay Saturday night in Rome while our villa in Lucca sat empty which was paid for"

At no point in the booking process, when I paid over $800 for the trip, was I told that I needed a specific travel visa (Canadian ETA) to fly back into Toronto for my return flight. Subsequently when I checked in for my flight yesterday morning in Manchester, England, I did not have the required travel documents and had to be rerouted onto a flight into the U.S. at a cost to me of $350. The rerouted flight got me to Washington Dulles airport, where I then had to purchase a second flight to get me home to Cleveland, Ohio, at an additional/extra cost of $450. MY CAR IS PARKED AT TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!!! I am having to now rent a car and drive there tomorrow (Friday) to collect my car, at another additional cost of $100 plus a 10-hour round trip. Due to the lack of information and communication on your companies behalf, I am down close to a $1,000 and will lose 2-days in work as of the additional days I am having to travel back to Toronto to collect my vehicle. I would appreciate contact from your organization to find the avenue I need to take for compensation of my time and finances. Regards"
Fordeler: "Our flight from Frankfort to Munich was late. Luftansa sent a representative to our flight to make sure we and others from our flight got on to the flight to Charlotte. How awesome! Plane needs more leg room."
Ulemper: "This airline has little respect for its customers. In the economy/coach cabin, they squeeze the seat distances to such an extent that, when the person in front of you leans their chair back, you cannot get out of your seat at an upright angle. You have to significantly bend your body. To not loose your balance, you have to grab on to the seat in front of you and that disturbs the other passenger. If they're sleeping, they can be woken up by that. Lufthansa does not care much for its passengers. Nor do many other companies, for that matter, but I think Lufthansa is taking things further than most airlines. It is a disgrace. Their brand is not what it once was."

Ulemper: "The greatest issue I have has to do with the state of Gatwick which is now under construction. Air conditioning was not available at our gate nor the seating area. We stood at our gate for a long time before being processed so that we could enter the seating area for the flight. We went from hot to hotter prior to boarding."

Ulemper: "I wasn't even on this airline my booking reference said that I was. I had this airlines flight number I go to the gate to check in, and then for me I'm on Air Canada. This was a mass from the start I will never use this airline or Air Canada again they ruin my login and told me it's still usable we had a delayed for three hours on the plane. Never never again!"
Fordeler: "Attendents were very warm and friendly. The pillow, blanket, water and headphones at the seat were a nice welcome."
