Ulemper: "Unrelated to the flight, the ground handling staff at Istanbul airport, especially the information desk, should be given a crash course in customer care."

Ulemper: "The crew at check-in & at boarding checked me in to fly to Tel-Aviv (transiting at Istanbul) without any comment on visa or passport at Washington D.C. In Istanbul, I was not allowed to board on the flight to Tel-Aviv. I was not allowed to stay in Istanbul. Crew (Erin Uler) who stopped me from boarding the flight said he would help, but disappeared. Othes kept sending me back and forth between transfer desk and sales desk with inconsistent advice every time. I had no way out, so decided I will fly to the closest European country. This was after I had been back and forth for 7 hours. I had to pay full for flight to Greece. I asked to be sent back to D.C. they could not even work that out. I have a return ticket to fly back to Washington D.C. with Turkish Airline on 1 Jan and they said they will need to re-ticket my paid return flight as well. Turkish airline crew did not would not help me fix my return flight back to D.C. They have asked me to contact the agent ( Kayak). Now I am stuck in Athens, a country I have never visited nor planned to. My tours & accommodation, all paid for in Israel, I have lost. I had a tour fully paid in Israel. I have no ticket to return back to D.C. even though I paid for ticket with cancellation insurance when I bought the ticket. The advice between Turkish crew who checked my passport (official) while I was flying out of D.C. vs the Turkish crew who stopped me from boarding was inconsistent. If I had been stopped in D.C. I wouldn't have had to face the events that followed. Now I have lost my tours, hotel in Israel. I had to pay extra for flight to Athens and I am paying for hotel and sundry in Athens while waiting for flight out. Turkish crew at Istanbul were not only unhelpful but rude and inconsistent. While I was waiting for 8 hours for a firm information, shouting matches between Turkish crew and customers went on at least a dozen times. Inconsistent information from Turkish staff has led me to be currently stuck in Athens. I am waiting for a way back to D.C. There should be a rule that fines an airline if they board people without accurate visa papers and they fail to check it. There should also be a fine to the airline if they stop people from boarding at a transit airport leaving passanger stranded with nowhere to go or return."

Ulemper: "Please don’t be black and travel with Turkish Airlines. They are rude and racist. Over booked flights, chances of missing connections. My son ranged the bell to ask for water. When the hostess came, she spoke to the white lady sitting next to him, the person told her it is not be that ranged it is him. He wants water, she walked away did not speak to him and never gave him the water. The only food they served was pasta. If you don’t eat that no other options. They will pump you off a flight that you purchased because they are over booked and expect you to be ok with it. No customer service at all."

After being delayed for two hours out of Rome to Istanbul and missing our connection to Jeddah with hundreds of other stranded passengers from the other flights, Turkish Airlines incompetent handling had us wait in multiple ques for more than five hours only to provide us a hotel for two hours and then shuttle back to a flight 12 hours later! I have yet to hear an explanation from anyone about what happened or a simple sorry for your trouble. This is operational incompetence at full display. Never Again!"

They should be more responsible when it comes to timing. We were on the flight waiting for two hours!!!"

Ulemper: "We went through an additional 6 security check points between our connecting flight from Italy, after they said we wouldn't. I understand the precautions flying into D.C., however there was no posting of this, and they wouldn't let us use the bathroom at the airport. Also, the plane was very hot with little air flow. Loud crying children coughing everywhere, fresh air would be nice for the 11 hour flight."
Ulemper: "Why does Turkish Air boarding always have to be so chaotic - pushing and shoving, etc. Why cant TK control their business class space - people from economy always coming up for bathrooms when there are plenty in the back....."
Ulemper: "Everything was truly great except for some passengers who felt they could stand in the aisles (and anywhere else they wanted) and lean over people while they were eating as their meals with religious dietary restrictions had already been served. I feel the flight crew could have handled them a little better. Still thought the rest of the service was fantastic."

If you go to a gate waiting area with no flight soon, you can stretch out and sleep. Good English-language bookstore."
Fordeler: "Our 11.5 hour flight took 16 hours due to weather in Chicago. We were forced to land in Detroit for over 2 hours. The crew smiled while they answered questions and dealt with some very difficult passengers. The food was Turkish, but very tasty and in large portions. The entertainment included several movies that had just recently been released to DVD. Overall it was great service."
Ulemper: "The communication was not what it should have been. While in Detroit, we were often left for extended periods of time with no update or information as to when we would be able to complete our flight. I realize they were at the mercy of O'Hare, but they should have made some announcement every 15 minutes or so just to "keep us posted" if nothing else. Also, there was quite a bit of confusion for passengers whose final destination was Detroit. I had to explain to the Flight Attendant that they needed to explain to the passengers why they couldn't deplane there. She phoned the pilot and he provided an appropriate explanation. This really my only complaint."
Ulemper: "the employees at the check in booth were so rude and unhelpful. I needed a wheelchair because I had a very bad backache, but they refused to help me and they made me wait standing up in line for over 2 hours. It was a very painful experience."
Ulemper: "TV did not work. Crew said there are a lot of broken TVs and there is nothing they can do."
Ulemper: "Check in person said we had an exit row seat; we didn't on either of our flights he checked us in for."
Fordeler: "Hey, two checked bags free, two free in flight measl and drinks including alcohol, and coffee service midway, free in flight movies and music, free headphones, free blankets, and a free toothbrush, yea toothbrush, its like flying in the way way back."

Even though I,flew economy I,felt like it was business class - foot rest pillow and blanket and they hand out hot towels and packs with toothbrushes and socks and slippers. I will definitely. Fly. Turkish Air again based on,this very positive experience"

Check in working effective. Kind cabin personnel . Not too note storage place inside for carry on luggage .

There is only one plug to charge electronic devices for two seats, and it is a regular plug so you need a USB adapter. Other airlines often have two USB’s per seat. The entertainment screens are a bit quirky and sometimes non responsive to touch. I had the same issues both ways on my trip.

Great crew and great food. But having no entertainment is not acceptable these days

As good as it can be when you pay $2,500 for a flight ticket knowing that they are not really there to offer you a service, they are there to make their own money knowing that as a traveler you really have no options other than an airplane if you want to go across the ocean."
Ulemper: "Seats become smaller and smaller...and you keep asking about my experience...$2,500 to travel seating in a miniature seat with no leg room is a bit much...and I know no flight company cares about this...we have no choice...either take that or don’t travel, right?"

Fordeler: "I had to change my flight times three times, and each time they charged me less than 30 dollars (for taxes) and the wait times on the phone were super fast. It was shocking to not lose hundreds of dollars for life happening and needing to change my flight. AND!! I got a free upgrade to premium economy for free!"

Fordeler: "The whole trip went smoothly. The price was right. There was a very bad storm in Charlotte before departure. Lufthansa made a delay, and I was very happy about that decision. They were very informative about connections, and emailed important information. Friendly, competent staff!"

Ulemper: "The plane was expected to land at FRa an hour early Andy they couldn’t wait five minutes for us after a three hour delayed flight. Every other flight was delayed on average 30minutes. When we arrived whoever was running the jet bridge took 15 minutes to get it out to our jet, essentially causing us to miss our flight right then. And then the staff had the audacity to tell us we had to hike back ten minutes to wait in an hour long line to rebook. When they could have done it at their gate just as easily. Simply awful service For paying first/business class"

Overall, I don’t have any complaints."

In the counters at the airport, we asked if it was possible a solution as I suffer with big anxiety and needed to be together my partner during the flight, and they answered us in an extremely rude way. Luckily we could change it with other passangers inside the plane by ourselves. Not a fault of Lufthansa but something that made the flight HORRIBLE was an extremelly smelly and very heavy guy seated next to me that used half of my seat and made me be really uncomfortable."

Ulemper: "You need better food and be equipped to be able to give ALL the passengers a choice of meals. We had a choice of pasta or chicken but when the got to the back of the plane there was only pasta left for those who wanted chicken, such as myself. Also maybe offer a vegetarian meal. Could also improve on boarding. Perhaps start with the people that have seats in the back of the plane first to make it easier to board and not block the aisles, instead of having everyone board at once and causing traffic in the aisles for those that have seats towards the back of the plane. Also need more comfortable seats for such a long flight."

There was no choice for the type of food I was getting, but everything was very tasty. The crew was very nice.

Seems strange when there are so few flights because of corona that everyone is stuffed into a bus to drive out to the plane for boarding instead of using the airbridge. Not sure what the reason for that was. No problem with using the airbridge on arrival. The flight itself was otherwise fine.

Ulemper: "My parents were traveling, they dont speak english and I verified with Austrian airlines that they would be assisted at the gates and that they had the correct visas for each airport they had a layover in. I was assured there would be no problems. Upon boarding they were not able to get on their flight. I have never had so many communication issues and frustrations in the middle of the night with an airline. disappointed."
Ulemper: "Paid 1,000$ and we got a standby ticket. How is this possible? Will not book through Kayak again."
Ulemper: "Seats are very small. Plane was cramped. Snack was not very good. Need healthy options."

Ulemper: "Plane temperature was too hot, despite my repeated requests to the crew to lower the temp. No one on this flight opened a single blanket - was that the goal? It was too hot to even sleep."

Fordeler: "Great food. Exceptional service. Clean airplane and toilets. The whole flight was smooth and comfortable. And we were in coach!!!"

Fordeler: "Crew only offered water once during the whole night flight. The entertainment programs regarding games was very restricted, both in terms of game offers as well as operation / handling"

Ulemper: "Firstly . The crew were rude ! They did not even response when were calling them from the seat . The only way to talk to them is to find them at the end of the plane ( where they been chating with each other ) Secondly . The amount of snacks was limited where’s in Turkish airlines it’s unlimited and you can choose different sandwiches whereas in Austrian airilines can offer biscuits and Cookies ;( Thirdly . We are living in 21 century and most transatlantic airlines have WiFi ! Where’s Austrian did not have it!"

Ulemper: "Flight was delayed an hour after boarding to wait for passengers from another flight. I understand waiting 10-15 mins but one hour was way too long."

Ulemper: "As usual, boarding in Miami airport is awful which is not exactly coming from austrian airlines, but they also took part in the unpleasant experience. The announcements were badly articulated, the boarding time was delayed and so on. Onboard, part of the crew completely refused to speak english."
Ulemper: "Crew was not friendly. Attended more to German speaking passengers and were out right rude to those who spoke no German and little English"

Ulemper: "One flight was cancelled resulting in a 6 hour wait, the second flight was 2 hours late. Meat meals ran out quick resulting in a vegetarian only option for a lot of passengers"
Ulemper: "I could not pay for check-in baggages when I bough 4 tickets for 4 passengers. So I called the airline customer service, and they told me that the first check-in baggage is free. However, when we boarded the airplane on 9/5/2016, we were charged 30 Euros for each bag, a total of 120 Euros for 4 checked in bags of 4 passengers. This is unfair, and I would like it to be corrected if possible. Thanks."

Ulemper: "Connecting flight on United. Horrible experience Chicago to Vegas.seats are small, feeling of claustiphobia, nothing free on entertainment. Only interested in adding to price of ticket. Very warm A/c didn't work well. Totally bad experience on United. Never want to fly on them again"

I do not know how, but, rude crew and counter personnel is here, rest of things looks pretty standard without any difference with other airlines, that was not the case in the past

Over 3 hours of delay without any assistance from klm

Very cramped flight, overhead bins were all completely filled, and passengers had to fly with bags by their feet which was not very comfortable for me personally.

Not the first time we have experienced defective entertainment system on this trip. It should be upgraded.

They didn't collect garbage before landing. Not only did we have to take our bags off the plane, we had to carry our garbage (drink cups/food served) to the front of the plane to throw out."

Bonus points for the Beemster cheese sandwich (I was totally disappointed when they served the food, but more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cheese - I even bought some afterwards, from the Albert Heijn just outside the security area)."
Ulemper: "Very odd queue separation at boarding. Passengers were divided in 5 lanes, depending on their seating area withing the plane (for a more efficient boarding, I presume) but, by the time we all got to the actual aircraft, we formed another queue in the boarding bridge so it didn't feel like any time was saved or anything."

Then our luggage lost for 3 days. Not happy! We ended up flying from Toronto to Paris then to Bordeaux. Lost my upgrade money for seats. Now have to deal with KLM for refund!"

Ulemper: "At Amsterdam we were told that our checkin luggage wouldn't be at Sydney!! Some low fat meals were terrible!"

Ulemper: "They can not retire these old Boeing 747's soon enough. Due to mechanical problems, our flight arrived at LAXfour and a half hours late and further problems with the cargo door caused an additional one hour delay of our take off."

Ulemper: "Boarding was odd. Go to airport early and counters were not open, did on line check in so was able to avoid the self check in at airport. Also self check in luggage seems confusing with no ground crew to help. It didn't affect me but lots of confused passenger."

For some reason l was unable to obtain my boarding pass online for both flights. I almost missed my last flight because it took so long to get one at the airport. Also my arm rest wasn’t moving and the movie on an 8 hr flight wasn’t working.

Denied at check-in even though I met all the requirement. This happened due to supervisor at AA(American Airlines) having lack of knowledge in international travel restriction. I tried to show the website that lists the traveling rules but he insisted he knew all the rules and denied my check-in. This also happened to another person in the same flight as well. I think the AA crew needs to hire more knowledgeable supervisor.

[  ] Chaotic is an understatement! I was flying from Helsinki to Los Angeles via Stockholm and eventhough I booked everything directly thru finnair, they gave me only 35 min to change planes that required crossing accross terminal 5 and going thru customs. I asked helped to different staff multiple times and no one cared. Finally when I made it to the gate the flight had been delayed because finnair did the same thing to other flights yet the app and website never updated. Finnair made several of us think we had missed our flight! [  ] Then when I got to the gate, the staff checked all of my documents again eventhough I had been checked in Finland less than 2 hrs before. If you fly with Finnair get ready for chaos. [  ] Messy online presence. Too many emails saying the same thing but hard to find relevant information (for example, I couldn't find any information about the trip from Stockholm to LAX) [  ] they provide the option to check in online and tag your bags at the airport but then have no bag drop line at some airports. [  ] Luggage information in Helsinki was never clear and caused us to step out and have to ring the doorbell to get our bags. It took forever for someone to open the door. [  ] Staff are careless about customer comfort. In rovaniemi, we had to board thru the tarmac and the attendants didn't care that people had to wait outdoor on freezing temperatures while the passengers were taking forever to put in their luggage and sit down. [  ] the only positive is that the airplanes are in good condition.

Alt fungerte meget bra. Crew var vennlige og opplagte, hadde fokus på jobben og hadde kontroll på oppgavene. Bare positivt å bemerke! Reiser mye med Finnair, og den gode opplevelsen er standard. Personalet får antagelig skolering og kan omgås passasjerene med vennlighet og respekt.

Business class crew was extremely helpful and pleasant. Breakfast likewise - tasty, healthy and substantial. All in all, the flight itself was great, so kudos to Finnair. What a contrast, then, to the pitiable Terminal 8 at JFK, where it was almost impossible to even find a seat (no exaggeration!) before security.

Very small plane, not much legroom. No organisation to boarding and no in-flight snacks provided as standard apart from water/juice.

Even then I had to ask the flight attendant, they did not ask me. No entertainment on the flight, magazines were rather pricy so I read a book and caught up with some sleep."

Ulemper: "The sound was out on my chair, so there was no sound to the movies. The food was really kind of junky and I decided against eating most of it so I wouldn't make myself sick. The meals could really do with more produce and a few more vegan options."
Fordeler: "The crew were trying to help and accommodate the bad situation."
Ulemper: "Couldn't check in online 24 hours ahead. When called Finnair on the phone, they couldn't check us in, told us we have to check in at counter, by then all good seats were taken and I couldn't sit next to my husband, and this is our honeymoon trip. It's a full flight and All upgrades were booked by then so couldn't even upgrade to business class. Requested a gluten free meal, no crew can figure out it that meal was on board (not in system nor on paper list), so at the end no food for me. I have been dying BA for last five years and this had to be the worst BA flight I have taken, absolute chaos at the check in counter and no organization. One BA counter agent Alexa tried to help but it is just too late. I expected more from BA."

Ulemper: "A nine-hour flight with ancient over-head screens? Great for those not sitting in a window seat, otherwise don't plan on being able to watch the movie. The first being a cartoon by the way. I'm sure the 3 children on board had a great time watching it. 2 bathrooms on a 9-hour flight for the entire coach cabin? One of which was near the front. Can you guess what the plane smelled like by the time we landed? Let's discuss the fact that passengers had to be "shuttled" to the plane because of construction. I paid additional for Group 1 boarding, so great I got to get on the shuttle first. Those that came after me also were the last to board the shuttle and the first to get on the plane. Thanks, American, for showing me again why I use you as a last resort. Had I known it was American and NOT Finnair, as I purchased it, I would have re-thought my purchase."

Ulemper: "Loading was like a cattle car. Drinks were slow to be offered. No drinks until after food was served more than one hour into the flight. No one ever seemed to check if I needed anything. When I did, there was no call-button. Seats were from the 90's and VERY narrow. I would NEVER pay for First/Business class on Finnair again. It was very poor."

Fordeler: "The meal for dinner was nice with wine, good old fashioned meal service. The plane was clean. Blankets and pillows provided. Staff seemed efficient. The flight was operated by Iberian so it was all in Spanish. Okay for us as we speak Spanish."
Ulemper: "The seats had so little padding. We are not very tall and the seats are just too close together. The poor fellow behind me could not make a move without bashing the back of my seat. Not his fault. If you are over 5'5" tall you are in trouble. It is too bad that flying has become so uncomfortable in coach."
Fordeler: "Nice flight, plane was new so that was great. I was traveling alone and got upgraded to Premium Economy. Lovely!"

Ulemper: "Hi -- the flight was fine. A bit of turbulence and rocky but it was raining so it's understandable. The crew was nice, professional. The plan was actually delayed 1.5 hours. They sent a text message at 7:15 apparently but my phone was not on so I understand not receiving it. I also left for the airport around 7:15. I also received an email from Kayak at 7 am that said there was no delay so I didn't check to see if there would be any others. I never received an email from Kayak about the delay. I would just suggest making sure all the alerts I get are correct. I also receieved an email to check in 72 hours before the flight but it wouldn't let me on Finnair.com Maybe I was supposed to go to Open Skies. Thanks! Melodie"
Ulemper: "The food was terrible , the flight was canceled from Paris to phila , i didn't know til 8 pm . It was very hard to have an other flight from London to phila. A lot of souffering for me ."

Fordeler: "I liked the crew and the fact that the flight was on time in both directions. We actually landed a little earlier than scheduled. The food was decent enough for airplane food and there were some recently released movies to watch."
Ulemper: "The seats were a bit cramped, which I guess is to be expected on a plane."
Fordeler: "No wifi on flight made work very limited in options. Also, tech was off so there was only one movie screen at the front of the section. No individual entertainment. Simply too rough for a long haul flight starting at 5pm, when one wants to do work and relax as it is too early for sleep."
