Friendly staff. Rooms are clean When you travel with kids, microwave is always useful. Rooms have a fridge, but not a microwave...
I really liked the modern furniture. the TV with cable. The bed was soft and comfy. My only complaint was the view I had. I had an ugly view of an empty lot.
Just a train ride away on the redline.
Thanks to the staff for providing bleach-free linens for our room. Breakfast was delicious, but the serving setup could be improved. One morning there was over 20 people in line the entire time I was in the area.
Clean. Great location for us. My teenagers really liked it more than other hotels during our vacation. Pool closed too early
Nothing The neighborhood was so bad that we did not check in.There was no parking and the surroundings did not look safe. I would not walk from street parking to the hotel with my wife and two teenage girls. The hotel is attached to a wheel shop. We went to Alexandria, Va and stayed at a Residence Inn by Marriotte instead. The website for this hotel is very misleading.
The staff was top notch. Breakfast was great every morning. Bar food was also good. Bed was a little uncomfortable. Room was too warm AC was turned off because it was December I assumed. But our room stayed at 78 degrees. Much to hot for good sleeping.
1. Lovely Valet service employees. Very kind young men. I was very impressed with them. 2. The room was nice and it was quiet as requested far from elevator, etc. Breakfast had a nice assortment of food & drinks. 3. Nice employees cleaning the breakfast area, and helpful with explaining elevator & need to use room key. 4. Front desk employees are nice too. 1. Parking for $35 / night is a bit excessive if one is there to support the opening of a chapel in the Basilica: National Shrine of Immaculate Conception. It would have been nice to be informed about this when booking the room. I even called the Hotel to ensure the room would be held for me for a late arrival. I would think that if somebody is arriving late, it would be nice to know in advance of the parking fee of $35. I was very fortunate that a spot opened up on the street. It would be nice to know that street parking is an option when booking as in Michigan I'm not used to a $35 parking fee or street parking for a hotel. 2. Ceramic coffee mugs would be a nice touch. I don't care to drink out of plastic/Styrofoam disposable cups (hence not green rating). 3. I was surprised the Hyatt didn't have a plastic hair brush at the front desk when asked (comb worked).
The staff when I spoke with them was helpful and professional. Overall cleanliness of the hotel was very good. The hotel is relatively new, but kind of on the edge of a good area. Breakfast was good each morning that I was there. Called the hotel several times during my travel to the location due to airline issues. Phone rang as many as 50 times with no one picking up. Same thing happened when I called the front desk from my room. Not sure what the issue was since the staff was always courteous and helpful when I interacted with them in person. Room was only cleaned 2 out of the 4 days that I was there even though I was out of the room from either mid-morning until late night or early morning until dinner each day. Not in the hotel's control, but construction site across the street is very loud. Sleeping in on a weekday not really an option.
The breakfast was the best I've ever had. The staff was professional and friendly. The metro was in walking distance. The neighborhood was a little sketchy. Don't be on the streets after dark.
We walked everywhere. Its only a 20 minute walk to the senate building. There are also fast causal restaurants a block away or the metro if you need it. The $50 (taxes included) a night for parking is ridiculous. I know other hotels nearby are similar but its not downtown DC and the lot they use is right next to the hotel. Also the breakfast was like any other bad hotel breakfast (don't believe the other reviews).
Good value hotel, got to stay for 5 nights. The rooms are spacious enough and the bed was VERY confortable. The offer noise machines and claim Dc is very noisy, it was not needed at all. The complimentaly buffet breakfast was barely ok and expect queues if you go after 8:30. The pool is very small, just good enough for a spash and expect it to be full of people.
The location and the staff, also that my daughter attends Gallaudet U, I will be coming back! No fridge or microwave and no complimentary coffee in the morning.
Slightly out of the way but very convenient for our needs. Very quiet. I would definitely stay there again.
Breakfast best level but expensive; Bus to center without cost (every hour or so); Very different level of service, evening person was cool up to not very friendly, in the morning very helpful; Far away from center (you need bus or taxi);
Very convenient...nice shuttle service to the union station Would be nice if Bristo is open daily throughout the week
Location Shuttle Broken window Heat didn't work Broken toilet seat Broken sink drain
Safe for the area as it is surrounded by a rod iron fencing around the campus and a manner security station, overall very clean, employees were friendly. Food in Bistro was fresh with a good selection, and staff very accommodating, but a little expensive for the offerings. The grounds were pleasant and spacious. Room was very quiet and could not hear noises in the halls, or from neighbors. It was spacious. The bedding was comfortable and towels thick and felt nice. Great customer service from the front desk as they responded well above and beyond to concern of an item I had left behind with excellent follow through. The room was not stocked appropriately for the number of people staying the in room; the shower needed some repairs on the adjustable bar; totally missing. Made showering awkward to say the least. The price of breakfast was a little high for the area. Should simply build the parking fee structure into the cost of their rooms, given you are certainly not going to park off campus and walk to the hotel.
Friendly staff! Hotel shuttle drivers were very friendly and accommodating. Location isn't good. Removed from all the sites and food places. Hotel shuttle is not as convenient as I thought it would be since there's only one and it only leaves every hour.
good location and suttle servive to union station room air conditioning needs improvement
Loved the location. It was close to so many places and really appreciated the shuttle to union station. This was second time we stayed at Kellogg and each time our room key did not work so we had to return to front desk and there were no apologies-no nothing! Almost as if it was our fault.
The rooms are excellent and the hole university/college place its very nice. The area where the hotel is situated is not nice or safe at all.
Everyone nice. Use of computer. Rooms excellant The neighborhood may not be the best but we were in a university and they had a bus to take you to the metro station running every 20 minutes
The staff made our stay very welcoming and accomodating. The room was clean and pleasant to sleep in. The grounds were well kept and very convenient.
Anthony at the front desk was great!!!! The pasta from the restaurant
The room was beautiful and spacious, even with 2 adults and 2 children. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was very small and wasn't very clean. With one other family, it felt crowded. The hotel was a bit far from the monuments. There is a Metro station around the corner, but we had to take it everywhere we went, often having to change lines. We were too far to walk anywhere. The parking was very expensive: $38 + 18% tax each day, so for 4 nights, it cost an additional $180! And valet was the only option, so we had to pay it.
Good location, hotel was clean and modern. The location was convenient to public transit and although the neighborhood is a bit dead, it is changing quickly.
Very comfortable bed Clean Central Location - restaurant/bar is average - not too many local restaurants after business hours
It was 100° this weekend and our neighborhood had a blackout so I ran here. I was pleasantly surprised. The location was great being right above the grocery store and right around the corner from the metro. The facilities were kind of small but they were definitely nothing to complain about. I don't really have any negative comments. I wish I had a tub instead of a shower. That would be my only disappointment.
New and clean. Upon leaving, I was placed in what I thought was a metered taxi only to find out it was some private cab (not Uber) demanding twice what I paid for the same trip the night before. Went out of my way to stay at the hilton because of loyalty program only to find out they don't award for bookings made through third parties. Some excuse for a $350 per night stay and they can't award their bogus points worth $3?
Room was huge, clean and comfortable. Also, good locations. Almost no bars or restaurants.
The service is excellent, the staff is very friendly and something that makes you feel really good
The staff provide great services
Clean, comfortable and nearby to local transportation. On the day of our checkout we weren't catching a train until the early evening but they held our bags for us so we could enjoy our last day in D.C. unencumbered. Nothing to speak of.
Very fancy (and you pay for it). Gym was one of the best hotel gyms I've ever seen. We basically just used our room to sleep, and it was more than adequate for that (wish we had used more of the services, given what we were paying. Great bathroom, furniture and linens... spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable... firm with fluffy pillows... but it wasn't very steady... creaked and made a lot of noise when we got a little, um, active...frankly even just getting into bed, it made noise. Otherwise, the bed was great. Great view. Very close to a grocery store, a few restaurants and the metro station (Noma University station)... a conveniently central location to walk or ride to most of the city. Iced tea, infused water and cookies by the front desk, during the afternoon... coffee and hot tea in the mornings.
Close to Metro. Staff was friendly. Closet had moldy smell. Sofa bed mattress was stained. Loud, next to metro. Bad neighborhood, don't go out at night. I would not stay here again.
Positives: clean room, nice amenities, friendly staff, excellent location (walking distance to Union Station, shops, grocery store etc.). Great value for money. We requested a room with a view and were given a room on the 7th floor, which was nice, except we were facing northeast and there wasn't much too see. It's a trifling issue and didn't affect our stay at all; we still had a great time. Also some minor noise from the trains and roads, but anyone used to city noise won't be too bothered.
Valets very helpful and personable Location to train both a positive and negative Fitness center nice. Very uncomfortable pillows
Came in on an early flight and unexpectedly, our room was ready by 11am. Also, asked for a room with a view. Again to our pleasant surprise, we were accommodated with a fourth floor corner room with a great view. Another huge plus for this hotel is the location to the NoMa metro. Made for easy travel throughout DC. Plenty of fast/casual restaurants within walking distance (Moes, DD, Perfect Pita, cafes and more). Only slight minus is the lack of sit down restaurants , but the close proximity to the metro easily makes up for this. Overall, fantastic stay at an affordable price. Metro proximity Fast casual food options Room/staff
Location close to metro and amtrak station. Bristo had good food and was open late. Hotel staff were friendly. Pool was a little hot.
Unbelievably close to the NoMa/Gallaudet stop on the Metro Red Line. About 30 seconds from hotel doors to metro station doors. All of the staff I interacted with were quite nice. The food at the Bistro is avergae - like it is at every Courtyard. All of the Bistro staff were super friendly and attentive. I was in the "Executive Suite," which is really just a corner room. It had an impressive amount of windows - at least 40' in length. Though really your only choice of views are the train tracks, a street or the ATF building. Other than the weird smell in the room, it was clean. The housekeeper I interacted with was nice and she did a pretty thorough job, in my opinion, for a regular daily cleaning. The TVs were probably bought back in 2006, it looks like - pretty behind the times - if that matters to you. My room had a less-than-favorable odor. The windows aren't exactly soundproof, so you can hear enough train sounds to jar you awake if you're a light sleeper. They supply you with earplugs, so they know their windows don't cut it. Also, you can hear a homeless person yelling at others from time to time. The location is super convenient if you want to be close to the Metro. Even though it's just a 30 second walk, you are absolutely guaranteed to get harassed by a homeless person. The 7-11 that's part of the same building is convenient, but there is ALWAYS a homeless person harassing you on the way in and out at the door. There were more than a few "interesting" characters staying at the hotel which made it a little less desireable. I was traveling solo for business and it fit the bill - though if it didn't have the proximity to the Metro station, I would not stay there. I would not bring my family to this hotel - I would not feel comfortable with them walking to the Metro station without accompanying them. It's a hotel where you have to use your room key in the elevator to get to your floor, if that helps with understanding what I'm trying to show here.
This was my first trip to D.C..i came to town with my 2 daughters and 2 of my grandchildren both age 2. Everyone we encountered was very pleasant and went out of their way to help us,and believe me when I say we did need help (did you read the part about the 2 year olds). I don't believe our stay at the hotel would have been any better at another hotel. The only negative things I can say is the location of the hotel is not very convenient for exiting the property nor are there any restaurants on site or near the property. However, there were some fastfood places across the street.
Location, clean room and bathroom, friendly staff. Prise. No
The room spacious, the bathroom was clean and well lit. Pretty comfy considering we were travelling with three young childen. Free breakfast was fairly standard but was a great convenience. Most staff was extremely friendly, giving service with a smile. Location. It's near a bus intersection with nothing but gas stations and fast food restaurants all around. Closet door kept coming off the hinges. One of the queen beds had alot of sag in the middle.
Met all my expectations Should give priority to family with children when checking-in. Provision of Ball service lacking.
They had a thunderstorm the morning we left. AFter 3 hours the electricity still wasn't on. We had to walk doown from the 3rd floor in complete darkness to leave to make it to the shuttle. The hotel next to us which they also own had electricty. They also charged me for parking. I didn't have a car and I told them that when I checked in. They said that they would take it off my bill, but at this time I still haven't recieved an email with my new total. Other than that they were very very nice and accomdating.
The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was wonderful. Staff was polite and helpful. Free shuttle service to Union Station was great. Overall, very impressed.
Stayed here for one night with a group of 8. Jeffrey was very accommodating, and I felt very valued as a platinum guest. It's located just outside the center of D.C., so you only have to deal with the D.C. traffic as needed. Would definitely stay here again. To no one's surprise, this hotel is a prime location for anyone going to see shows at Echostage, so please be aware if you're planning to bring children or are looking for consistent peace and quiet. The staff do their part to make sure any disruptions are kept at a minimum, but for Friday and Saturday nights, you have to expect some rowdy characters roaming the halls.
great location to visit washington and staff were very helpful and guided us to a couple of nice restaurants, there was also a shuttle bus which was very helpful to get to the city and back, breakfast could have been better but a good location to stay
Breakfast was great. Nya was kind and friendly
easy to find hotel, clean room breakfast room was so small
Very clean. Rooms were nice and staff were friendly and accommodating.
I liked the hotel room and also the swimming pool and the gym.The free shuttle service was very good. The location is not the best as nothing within walking distance to see.
Complimentary breakfast excellent, rooms likewise. Hotel 3 years old but looked as if it was brand new - very clean well furnished and efficient. Shuttle bus am and evening to main station very welcome as it is a 15 minute taxi journey. Situated near highway and rail road but double glazing and air con very efficient. Altogethr a very good experience Shuttle bus doesn`t operate from 12.15 until 5pm which is not good news if you are arriving from out of town in the afternoon.
Excellent room and invaluable complimentary shuttle to Union Station from where it is possible to make all your city touring easily.
I liked the friendly staff, the compliementary breakfast and dinners. They were very accomadating for any needs. THe shuttle to the metro station was very helpful. The beds were comfortable and they always had fresh towels. While there I realized that the location is a little bit difficult. To get anywhere you need to take the shuttle to the station or get a taxi. Also there wasn't any grocery stores close by. There were gas stations but it's just not the same.
I like everything is in a simple way, not trouble at all, and installations is good enough to spend a couple of days (gim, swimming pool, breakfast area...) No claim at all.
Nice comfortable rooms and swimming pool. Location is far from center (takes 20 min from union station), for this price it might be better to get a hotel better located. Reception personnel isn't very understanding and cooperative. Also more money was charged than we agreed upon on booking.com.
distance from the Capitol
The shuttle that runs between the hotel and downtown is a wonderful service that outweigh the disadvantage of the bad location.
Good hotel, breakfast within the normal patterns of cotiano. Location and rejected. Has little additional parking. I recommend looking for this car
i like the room, and the breakfast bufet The breakbfast bufee did not have many tables to eat
Breakfast and shuttle service. Shuttle service could have early afternoon service. Neighborhood was scary.
Clean, friendly service, quick and easy check-in, and free breakfast. They initially charged me for parking on all three rooms when I only had one car, but they were perfectly willing to change it when I pointed out the mistake. Also, the hallway smelled like smoke which was sort of gross, but the rooms were fine.
a little bit far from metro station(15min. walk), however it is abeautiful quiet town.
they did not guarantee broken cars/ stollen items from their parking lot. Although nothing happened, the area was not safe and we were stressed about having our car broken into at night.
It's near Safeway Supermarket which is good. There is also a Subway shop. The wireless connection in my room was almost zero. had to be at the lobby to receive proper reception. Situated in a rough neighbourhood.
everyone was friendly, but i felt as if i had my own privacy.
The people close they really bad and they smokers inside and not taking about regular cigarettes did other one. The guy from the taxi tell me stays in you room all the time don't come outside for nothing I was scared the hole night I didn't sleep I booked for two nights I staying for one night I left in the morning. And I know a lady rent the hotel and she left and sleeps in the airport she was scared this place nothing is the same at photos the you have online
Parking FREE. Leave the car there. A short, hot hike to the METO. METRO is the best way to get around DC. HUGE farmers market one block away for provisions. Bring a few kitchen items to take advantage of this. LONG, involved check-in process. Needs to be streamlined. If you are in line just to ask a question, sit down to wait.
Bad neighborhood, bad service, very messy and smelly rooms, no descent locks on the doors, ... just don't go there!
value for money would be the biggest asset at 104 dlrs incl tax. basic clean accomm next to wholesale/markets area. metro stn nearby but area pretty dead and abandoned on sat arvo and sundays. owned by the french group accor . needs a new tv set
There was nothing I could really "like", it was just a normal hotel with a comfortable bed and a bathroom. Probably I liked the fact that they had not charged my credit card before I actually came to the hotel, so if I hadn't come, they probably wouldn't have charged me (I got that impression). Not enough towels.
It was close to the subway and within walking distance to downtown, whic is why I chose it. we were able to walk down to the subway and for $1.85 went to the Ronald Reagan national airport - right to the check in counter. The best deal we ever had getting to an airport. There was no way to get hot water for drinks nor a fridge for cold drinks. And it was at a corner where huge delivery trucks go past early in the morning for the wholesale markets just down the street from us. Could overcome the noise of traffic by putting the airconditioning up high.
All the rooms have been renewed. Location is not bad especially if you have a bike, it s only 10 mins away from the union station or 5 mins walking to the nearest subway station. The TV was bad quality.
Locación is pretty golf, moreover the price is good when comparing it to the other hotels in the area. Saying said so, I would prefer paying more or staying in another hotel after seeing the room. The room was old and dirty. The area in the wall/door/light switch was dirty. The towels had holes, and hairs were in between the towels. Moreover, the bathroom was discusting, the roof paint was cracked due to humidity, mold was in the bath tube wall corner, and the toilet paper was falling. Lastly, the tv was missing the remote receptor cover therefore had a hold, and the remote was dirty with stains and grease from previous customers and missing the battery cover. Finally, the chair had a bad stain, as well as the drapes. I took pictures in case youu need evidence.
It was really close to the subwaystation, just a few minuits to the center of Washington DC. The stuff was helpful in explaining the way to the station. With recognition of the low price it was fantastic. Not as old as most of the cheaper Motels.
Bad area. Always people yelling and fighting. Negative surroundings.
For the price that you pay for, you cannot have a high expectation. For a single night stay this hotel fit my needs. It seems to be in a pretty rough part of town, you also have to pay for parking.
The overall experience. The fact that the room wasn't as clean.
The rooms and the room services was fantastic. loitering around the corridors very disturbing neibours.
Rude staff members in the morning, very scary neighborhood, broken down building
I liked that there was a 24 hour gas station across the street, and that it was less than 20 minutes to mall and eateries, fridge in room, and staff was extremely friendly. Came from Pittsburgh 4 1/2 hour drive, when we got to the hotel at 4:00am we got to the room and tried to use the keys and a man opened the door, we were then given another booked room, hour later we got a nasty room with unknown stains on chairs no iron
It was overall amazing, so much that I stayed two extra nights and I even received a discounted rate for one of them! I lived it all, it just took a minute to get anywhere without a car!
Shuttle to Union Station. Clean, roomy rooms. In the ghetto. Train tracks just behind building.
Hotel room smelled of smoke, toilet did not work. Hallway was littered with trash. Asked to have our room changed, which was not an issue, thankfully
Nothing No internet service in the bedroom.
spacious room, frendly step location, charged parking
I was bitten by vermin all over and couln't sleep. So I had to move my room at 2:00 am.
Tv wasn't working in our room not a major but they kindly changed our room for us.
Comfortable. Really nice place. Guy from the front desk really hepful (the one during the day), rest of the staff doesn't speak english so well so sometimes is hard to understand what they are saying. They don't speak spanish either... so weird thing fot the us!. Breakfast: Old donuts - weird bread and bad coffee. Is far from the Metro, like 10-15 minutes walking. if u have a suitcase to pull over the road, u'll be in trouble, there is no sidewalk so u'll have to pull it through grass and dust... not great if it's rainy as my case. Once u get to the station is great. Places to eat are far away, but I always ordered to the room.... so it was fine.
closeness to city center noise level from railway tracks
The Refrigerator fit many water bottles? Um, it is difficult to write anything positive about this hotel. Um, don't know where to begin. This hotel is in the middle of no where, next to the railroad. Non-smoking room had a deep, deep cigarette smell. Seemed like someone was smoking in there not too long ago. If it wasn't for me not being able to sleep earlier because of west coast time, you could hear and feel the trains coming and going. The walls are very thin, and you can here anything outside. There are also some people that come by bumping their music so loud, that the room vibrates. This also occurred during the wee hours. So if you are a light sleeper and you want to stay here, good luck. However, this is not the reason why I left. On the first night, I found a bug on the sheets. I wasn't sure if it was a bed bug, because it was the first time I saw that type of bug, so I killed it. While I was sleeping, I woke up because I felt itchy. However, I sometimes get itchy, so I didn't think it was bed bugs yet. After the next night, I woke up and once I was about to leave, I saw a smaller bug on the bed again, so I caught it, but this time when I smashed the bug, blood smeared on the sheets. So, I knew they were bed bugs, and I packed up my stuff, and went to the front desk. I told the manager that I wanted to get a refund for the remaining time there (I had booked for 8 nights). The front desk made it very difficult to receive a refund, and not until my sister yelled at the front desk with a customer waiting did he agree to the refund. He was trying to get us to check out and pay the full amount. So, I spent one day in DC trying to quarantine all my luggage. So if you really have to stay here, you have been warned.
The room was very clean and well kept. The staff h was friendly and courteous. The amenities were getting pretty old. The hotel is in a very bad section of town and was not comforting.
It was an excellent location and I found it very convenient to walk to the Metro station rather than driving and trying to find parking. The facilities of the room were good. Rather noisy and difficult to access when driving east on New York Avenue.
