The Grand Hyatt is our favorite hotel. They have everything from good food to gift shops to a pool. I would highly recommend it! The room service options were slightly limited
Location, location, location Helpful staff Very outdated Raggedy carpet Stench in hallway Noise from plumbing in next room
Colonial parking provides valet parking at the Willard for $55 per night. They refused to tell me about any other options when there was another parking garage just behind the hotel. I won't return to the Willard until they lower their parking rates.
Nice lobby, courteous staff, comfortable bed. Tiny gym, mold in the bathroom grout, room amenities were average, surprising amount of wear and tear in our room for a hotel in this category.
The Bellhops were amazing! So helpful and polite!!!
We likes the decor and the cleanliness of the hotel. The hotel was in a good location for sightseeing. Housekeeping forgot to clean our room in the morning so we had to call and ask that they come at night when we were out to dinner. The pillows were also really too soft without much support. And we didn't realize until we got there that the overnight parking fee was $59 per night....kind of a lot when you gross everything up we might have been better off at another hotel location with less expensive parking! Once you are there though you are stuck with it. Ugh. Next time.
The staff were very friendly and the hotel was beautiful. We'd definitely stay here again!
The actual hotel was clean and updated, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the actual stay was great. Nice little happy hour offered at the bar. Valet parked my car for 1 night, and took it upon themselves to charge $50 to my credit card, plus a $17 convenience fee. No lot in the surrounding area exceeded $25 for overnight parking. I should have parked my own car. I feel that the hotel was nervy and rude to charge us double the going rate for parking - without notifying me. I felt taken advantage of, since we were already paying top dollar for a 1 night stay. The hotel was nice, but not that nice. I stay in DC all the time, but I may not return unless this problem is rectified.
Very friendly staff! Watch the charges. Some claim "free" or complimentary but they aren't. Also the front desk wasn't staffed well for a busy weekend of a large charity function. Longer than expected wait times to check-in and out especially.
I liked the location Facilities, it is expensive for what they offer
The staff was awesome Could've used a coffee maker in the room.
Staff was excellent; great location The walls are paper thin and the person next door had a party until 3 am. Impossible to sleep.
Centrally located. Lovely staff. They had free happy hour every night! In DC, that is nothing to sniff at. Continental breakfast had everything under the sun. The room was clean and comfy, but it was a wi-fi dead zone. You had to pay $10 a day for wifi, and my cell phone signal only worked when I was in the bedroom next to the window (we had a king suite on the 11th floor). The walls were that thick, I suppose? There's nothing that says cheap more than making guests pay for wi-fi at a $230/night hotel.
This Embassy Suites hotel has a great DC location. We have stayed here three separate times, stopping here on our DC trips. It is easy to walk from here to many of the central DC sites you want to see. It has a good family feel with a family cocktail hour that my kids love to participate in. They have a great room set up with games and snacks for families with small kids, and a separate cocktail room for adults not families with older kids. Breakfast is great...huge diversity of options, relatively fast for the volume, and my "picky kids" are happy and full by the time we walk away. The hotel rooms are worn down. The bathrooms are fifteen years past needing updating. The pool is too small, over chlorinated, and depressing. The cocktail hour is chaotic, understaffed and the snacks can not keep up with the crowd. (I get that it is free, but you have to keep up or just not offer it).
Location is very ideal and convenient Carpet in the foyer and lifts looks too old and dents impression on the hotel
location hasn't been renovated in, like, 80 years. shabby doesn't fully capture it. windows are thin and so noisy tasters choice instant coffee in the room
