The all inclusive was pretty good, the food for the most part was good, I would say 3-Star dining. Loved the tub in the room, that was such a nice touch. The drinks in the all inclusive are very, very bottom shelf. No hot water in the shower.
Simply the best... The best experience we've had in terms of accommodations, service and food. All the staff was very attentive and paid attention to detail. We celebrated our 25th anniversary with a 5 night stay at the Marquis just last week. Since we mentioned the occasion they surprised us with many small details that went a long way. I won't spoil it for you just case you decide to do the same! One of our favorite things to do was the outdoor Italian restaurant. That night they also featured a wine tasting activity. Don't pass up the appetizer thin crust gourmet pizza baked outdoor in their brick oven. Beef carpaccio was off the hook The only downside was not being able to go into the beach immediately in front of the hotel. We walked down a few minutes toward the Hilton to experience the beautiful pacific. There we were able to get in at but just about 10 feet before the drop off. We were lucky to be there when schools of fish were swimming right up to the shoreline. There were a couple locals netting bushels of these "Lisa" fish one bucket after another.
- Beautiful locations and facilities - Great entertainment staff - Fantastic breakfast - Good food - Very clean and well-maintained - Constant music playing by the pools, they should really keep one half of the area no music. The music is way too loud and nothing anyone wants to hear, half the people by the pool have headphones on to try to drown it out. This was hugely disappointing to me - it was just way too hard to get some straight up peace and quiet. - Not enough alcohol selection. For this kind of money, I would expect a lot more liquor selection, better tequilas, more high end everything. Also: add menus with a variety of drinks. - More and better food options. While the Mexican restaurant and the ceviches were outstanding, the Japanese food was only OK (although the hibachi chefs were great), everything else was subpar.
Its an excellent hotel, much better than I expected, its all inclusive a la carte, they also include all the minibar snaks, and room service. Its very well maintained and has amazing views of the ocean, it has one of the best beachfronts because there's not a soul, so you can lay on the pool and admire the view. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bed is not the best, 2 days before we left it arrived a group of 30 people and the service started to fail a little, at some point they organized activities for this group and they had a microphone in the pool, so it was very loud. We told the manager and they shut it down.
The Marquis was absolutely perfect! The most gorgeous views I have ever seen. The staff was great and very helpful with everything. The food was also good (I would rate it a 7 out of 10) but for an all inclusive a 9 out of 10. All in all a perfect 10. The only problem was that you were not able to swim in the ocean. The water was too dangerous. But the beautiful pools made up for that.
The location was perfect . . . on the corridor between CSL and SJDC. Gorgeous hotel, both the public spaces and the rooms themselves. Gracious and attentive staff. Beautiful beach and pools. PLan on returning with my family sometime in the future. N / A

Having stayed at many 5 star resorts around the world, The One & Only Palmilla has been my favorite. There was NOTHING I did not LOVE about this place! Excellent food and drinks! Excellent service! Incredibly beautiful property!
The One and Only in Palmilla is the ultimate in luxury. The rooms are stunning, the service is incredible (you walk around and they respond to you by your last name) and don't miss Agua by Charlie Trotter. He has two restaurants here, but I liked Agua better due to its ambiance and its food selection. Plus the prices aren't as steep!
We took our young kids 3 & 5 and had a very relaxing time. The staff is very accomodating. You'll feel like you are on their own compound. Very safe and secure. Always a staff around even in the early dark morning hours on the grounds keeping it up. If you want a luxury feel at a very upscale place then this is the place. We saw 1 singer and 1 celebrity at the pool with their kids but everyone respects their privacy.
This was the first stop of my honeymoon, before heading to Asia's best hotels. And none of the 8 other hotels we visited compared to this one. This has got to be the best hotel we've stayed in ever! And the food is exquisite.
My wife and I traveled here for our 12th anniversary in September and we are still raving about it. There is not one thing I would change! By far the service is the most attentive and outgoing of any 5 star hotel I have ever stayed. The grounds are manicured perfectly. The staff all know your name and there is nothing you can't ask them that they would not do. The Villa's are incredible with amazing fews, ample space and the best bathroom I have ever been in. This hotel thinks of everything! The food was also incredible. We will be back!
Our Palmillas experience began the moment we stepped out of the airport. We were transported by hummer to the resort and felt immediately cared for. The resort was immaculate! Not a bug or weed in sight, the beautiful gardens blooming, doves cooing and everything clean and hygienic. The staff were gracious, polite and detail oriented, always prepared to care for you and get you anything you wanted or needed without being overwhelming. Our room was gorgeous and it was above the beautiful, swimmable beach. We had panoramic views of the bay and the sound of the waves right outside. Our bed was super comfortable and clean (down pillows yeah!). The bathroom was vast, luxurious and well appointed. On the second day, I found a sewing kit that had been tailored to the colors of my wardrobe! The attention to detail was evident everywhere. Nothing was short of luxurious and everything was maintained perfectly. There were little, carved wooden blocks you could set out by your sun lounger which signaled to the staff whether you wanted to sleep, be left alone or needed service. The same system worked on the beach using flags. Every day there were ice buckets with water, cooling, aloe facial mist, and small treats like sorbet or mini ice creams were handed out. The food was really good, especially the Cevice and fish dishes, all made with such fresh ingredients it was like a party in your mouth! Nighttime was ultra romantic with soft lighting along the pathways, beautiful ambiance in all the eaterys and again, warm, attentive staff at every turn. Some say this place is ‘over priced’. Yes, it’s expensive, but we have stayed at ‘The Tides’ in Playa Del Carmen and ‘The Ritz Carlton’ in the Grand Cayman, both were comparable pricewise and Palmillas blew them out of the water! It was worth every dollar and far exceeded our expectations. For those who want to go and save money, the breakfasts are huge and could easily be shared. You can also cab very easily into San Jose Del Cabo and dine in the town for less. We did this a few times and it was very enjoyable. I can’t say enough about this luxury resort, it was perfect!
Just got back from the Palmilla. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are perfect, and the bathrooms to die for!! Will be returning next year!!
Everything was fantastic. The people were attentive. Food was great. Atmosphere was incomparable.
Property is beautifully landscaped. Staff is very charasmatic. Rooms are very nice, with some really luxurious amenities, but could use a few more finishing touches. The views are terrific from the modest-sized balconies in the Jr. Suite. Next time we'll probably upgrade to the rooms with the endless hot tubs on the balcony. The chef is terrific. Breakfast, lunch, supper and snacks were all wonderful. Definitely Baja influenced dining, but a number of options available as well. Good wine, good liquor, good mixed drinks. Modelo, Pacifico and Corona are the only beers available. Not at all unusual, but it would have been nice to see a few more options.
The resort was very elegant and quaint. The pools were the perfect size for the number of rooms. On several occasions we had challenges with receiving our food orders both poolside as well as in the restaurant. I am well aware that the week after Thanksgiving their bookings were lower. However I feel that the service and attention to detail were lacking. There was no spa.
