Loved the king bed it was very comfortable. The breakfast there was amazing! The bathroom is tiny and cable wasn't working.
the television did not work. it did not had sign. There was a constant noise coming from the wall of my room - a snapp. Everything else was all right. I would come back there in despite this things.
The location was excellent and was walking distance to nice restaurants and stores in the Little Italy area. The room that we stayed in (a Double) was VERY small, with cement floors, so I found the online pictures to be deceiving. We also found hair on the bed sheets, which they replaced for us.
The location is amazing, the staff are beyond amazing. My only gripe with the place was the cleanliness around the windows which appeared to have black mold. This place is perfect if you don't mind a small room.
Courtesy of staff. Close location to town. Very quiet at night to sleep
Staff friendly and helpful. Facility clean. Room cramped. Shower drain slow, shower pan filled with water while showing. Window air-conditioner effective but loud. Breakfast good but too few tables during morning rush. Staff friendly and helpful. Facility clean. Room cramped. Shower drain slow, shower pan filled with water while showing. This is a great hotel, in a great area (Little Italy), with amazing yummy breakfast and very helpful staff. The rooms are very clean, with microwave and a fridge. The value for the money is amazing. Our room was very small, and you couldn't open the window (the AC wasn't enough) and it was a little suffocating.
The breakfast with the fruit salad was refreshing and the croissants yummy! Access to a printer, a computer and internet. Staff (Guy at The front desk) was very nice and helpful. He deserves a raise! No free parking even though I found a street parking. No hairdryer in the room, when I got the room it was hot in the room. In the morning I heard the people working on the building next door.
Right around the corner from little Italy. Great food there. Short walk to the waterfront. Everything was a short drive away. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was just enough and presented nicely. Nice little clean BOUTIQUE hotel. It's right in the name. So it is not like a typical chain hotel. We would definitely stay again!
Little Italy is such a beautiful location. Plenty of restaurants which my boyfriend and I loved. The hotel has a comfortable atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were well kept and great for taking a break from being out and about. I think this is a great spot for weekend getaways. There was small pastries, granola, yogurt, fruit and drinks in the morning which was nice. It wasn't enough to get me full but enough to hold me over until my next meal. Overall it was a cozy and relaxing place to stay for a weekend getaway. There was parking spots for the hotel but unfortunately they were all full. Not too big of a deal. I just had to leave my car in the next street over in public parking. Paid $12 for 24hours. Parking can be hard to find in this location because it is a hot spot. Other than that, I have no complaints.
Nice area. Not too touristy. I had one of the more spacious rooms and it was the perfect size. Very nice staff.
This is an excellent place to stay for those who are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a great location. The rooms are small, but efficiently laid out and clean. Everything you need is availalble, and the wifi is adequate. The complimentary breakfast is very good and the coffee is excellent. No need for a Starbucks run in the morning. The staff is friendly and someone is always available. This hotel is not spacious, from the lobby to the rooms, everything is compact, so if you were planning on spending a lot of time in your hotel, or you equate space with comfort, this might not be the place for you. If your looking for a clean and modern place to stay that's quiet and well located, you can't find a better hotel, especially for the price. Parking would be difficult if you had a car. I did not have a car so it wasn't an issue. There is a construction project next door (new development), so if you were facing it, it might be loud. It never bothered me and I'm a light sleeper, but I did hear someone else mention it woke them up at 7am because their room was right next to it.
The place was ok and near the center The climate was realy noisily and you hered the landing planes...
The location was nice. Its basically a converted motel, the rooms are small and the AC doesn't work. I tried multiple rooms blasting the little units at 62 degrees and it still about 80 degrees in the room late into the night. I barely slept.
This place was clean and comfortable. However, the walls were paper thin. You can hear everything from people walking outside and starting cars to people talking at a normal volume nearby. Really terrible when the drunks returned to their rooms around midnight and 2 am.
Great location and price. Decent rooms with great amenities like a mini fridge and microwave. Perfect affordable place to stay with friends when hitting up Little Italy and Gaslamp. More like a renovated motel. Beds are serviceable at best. Only valet parking. Bathroom door didn't lock. Rooms towards the street can get loud.
The smell of the bathroom, it smelled like sewage pipes. The bed could have been more comfortable.
Very friendly staff. Great service with the shuttle from the airport. Room was clean, but was easy to hear noise from outside. Wish breakfast had been included.
Nice staff, good location, and not too expensive Small rooms and a lot of noise
The location was perfect. Went to crssd music festival and it was a ten minute walk to the venue! Awesome boutique hotel that was very cozy and clean.
Manager was nice fix problems right way. I remembered my name every time Night staff seem to be mad that we need something or acted like they did have time for u
Really liked location. Near some good restaurants in Little Italy. Pics make the hotel look a lot nicer than it is. Rooms are small, towels are like motel 6 towels but overall a good value.
Loved the location, it was close to everything. When I checked in my credit card was overcharged. (I was aware of the fee's needing to be charged upon check in) However, the charge my card pended on was way over what was proposed.
The inside and how bad the paint looks terrible elevator its run down
Well decorated. Good furniture and fixtures. Cool design Pricey for what it is
Bad experience. When we arrived, I was informed my reservations were canceled, I never canceled, and were given a lousy room. High hotel foot traffic late into the night that was very loud, no tv remote, crappy tv, super small room, overall a horrible stay!
Location was nice and room, somwhat small as reviews said, wasn't a problem at all actually. Comfort was better than expected. Elevator is slow. Noise from the train was really annoying, especially when your room is on one side of the hotel. They need investing on better isolating windows about that. Wifi never actually worked in the room (4th floor) and I needed to go on the business room, cafe or to pick up a free guest wifi from another building to have the internet. It's so easy and cheap to have a good internet that it's really a drawback nowadays to not have a stable connection.
The room was small, but overall the hotel was fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the free pastry/coffee in the adjacent café was a nice treat.
The hotel was in an excellent location, near Little Italy, with great restaurants and pubs nearby. The room was small, very European like, but very clean and recently updated. The Saturday farmers market, right out in front was also a fun plus.
Charming hotel in the heart of Little Italy. Location is perfect for those wanting to explore the city and be close to Gaslamp. The staff was nice and the hotel had a lot of charm. Really clean as well! Would definitely stay again (but maybe would request a room with double beds just to give us a little extra space...) Rooms are really small. Parking wasn't available our first night which I wasn't expecting. Once we did get a spot in the lot, all the spaces were really tight/hard to park in.
Location is right in little Italy.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoy the morning coffee and pastry. Lovely modern rooms. It was nice to have parking at the hotel but it was fairly expensive. The gym was also nice to have but very small no more than three people could use it at a time.
The location was great! Everything in Little Italy was walkable. Wanna go further? The trolley transit system was about two blocks away. Also, they have an underground garage structure available at $20 per night. The garage was fully protected so there's no worry about your vehicle. My 8 month old son decided to poop in our bed around midnight while I was trying to change his diaper (dark lighting and half asleep). We stripped the sheets off, and then found out that the hotel didn't have any spare bedsheets because laundry didn't come back from the cleaner until Tuesday... It was Monday night. So, don't change diapers in the bed at midnight...?
The staff was accommodating and very friendly. The location was perfect in Little Italy and walking distance to many downtown San Diego attractions. The rooms were nicely updated and the balcony overlooking the city was amazing. The beds were a little hard for my taste. The room was hot and we were unable to control the air conditioning. We had to pay an extra $100 for a double queen. And it's $15 a day for parking which isn't stated at time of booking either
Wonderful location and reasonable price! Everything close to get like airport, amtrak, sea port, downtown and a cozy cafe is just next to! Carefull, this hotel has a big but gentle huggy hotel dog.
It was clean ,quiet and located in just an ideal location for a great walking vacation. nothing.
comfortable bed included breakfast with some healthy options wifi worked well airport shuttle, but does not pick up after 10 pm thin walls, can hear conversation through them my room was over the dumpsters (5 am trash collection) greeted one morning by a cockroach crawling out of the shower drain
Great location, friendly staff and nice breakfast. I specifically picked this hotel because it was the best deal and had an airport shuttle. I was bummed when my flight arrived at 1030pm to find out the shuttle stops at 10pm. It would have been nice to know that beforehand.
The train was not even a problem!! Nothing!
Staff Paying for parking
The location was perfect for gas lamp district and petco park, just a quick trolley ride away. Walking distance to the trolley and to little Italy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfy and had an enjoyable trip. The beds were too soft for my liking. My fiancé prefers cool showers and the water only came out warm/hot.
Everything was clean, many amenities, attentive staff. Recommended!
Positives are the location, location, location & accessibility to Gaslamp district. Staff was courteous (enough). Breakfast was decent. 10 years ago, the Hampton was worthy of being in the Hilton family. The staff person didn't bother to tell me about the amenities or location of anything, but noted that he did that for another customer. My smoke free room reeked of smoke and the only thing they had available (they said) was the handicapped access room on the 2nd floor. The elevators are stuff and hot. Parking is cramped and nightly fee is a tad high. I needed to iron my clothes for a party and the iron was broken. When I returned the iron, the staff person was snippy and acted like I was incoveniencing her. I did not feel I was demanding and was very polite. another cust. complained that the AC was not adequate.
The location was great. But that's about it. Shower head broken! Tile cracked and falling apart. And most of all the bed was uncomfortable. The main reason why we love to stay at the hamptons is because we love the beds! Unfortunalty this was not the case.
Visibility is very limited in both directions when exiting the parking garage. Pedestrians can't see cars approaching the exit and vice versa. I almost collided with a group of pedestrians. Maybe some signs or flashing lights to alert drivers and pedestrians? You just can't see oncoming traffic on the highway without almost putting your bumper at the edge of the street.
The property location was desirable. Failure to provide two rooms as promised, Overbooked. Would not admit mistake. Would not make it right.
Spacious room with kitchenette. Breakfasts and evening mixers included in the room rate. $100 pet cleaning fee. $14/day for parking.
Location is great by Little Italy. Comfy beds, new hotel. I didn't like that my phone rang with an unscheduled wake up call at 5:30 every morning. I spoke to the front desk the first night, and they assured me it wouldn't happen again, but it did. I was compensated with breakfast and bar tab, which was appreciated.
The hotel was modern, clean and comfortable. The parking charge is ridiculous. I'm staying at your hotel. I shouldn't have to pay for parking, especially $40 per night. If I knew about the parking charge before I booked, I would have gone to a different hotel.
It was close to downtown San Diego and conventions. Also close to gaslight with numerous restaurants.
The Inn is conveniently located just off the I-5, close to downtown (2.0 miles to Gaslamp) and is a few minutes walk from the Harbour Waterfront Boulevard. There was ample parking, the room and restroom were clean and comfortable and the staff were courteous and friendly. All in all, great for a short weekend holiday in SD, which is a wonderfuly city. Though there were enough plug-points to go around, there could be a couple more.
It's a basic hotel with moderate accommodations. The stuff was nice. The location is great. Jack-in-the Box is right next to it to grab a simple breakfast.
Price was good for location. Hotel seemed musty and also had issues with bugs. Did not feel comfortable so we left one night earlier than scheduled to check out. Would not recommend to anyone.
The hotel (or actually, motel) is located next to the railway, which caused a lot of noise. In addition, the airport is very near, which causes additional noise if a plane lands and uses the trust-reversers to brake. The furniture in the rooms is old and damaged. The breakfast is very plain, with only a choice of waffles and cereals. I was planning to stay for 7 nights, but the price/quality ratio was very bad. I left after 1 night, and had to pay a 2-night fine for leaving earlier. This motel is for sure not the best deal in San Diego.
Location was ideal and it was cheaper than the surrounding hotels. The room was clean and had everything you need. Not fancy, but was just what I was looking for.
the vicinity to the convention center very noisy from trains, every thing was very old - towels;, bathroom, no closet. in your site it was told that the place was renovat!?
close to down town, and in middle of little italy need be more basic facilities like laundry
The stuffs were very kind and gentle. The location was near railways and airport, which made noisy situation.
The access to kids park across the street is perfect. from there is a quick walk to the Midway carrier ship. Access to the green line metro train is very convenient to take you back and forth to the gaslamp district. I would stay there again. Staff is friendly. Keep in mind they do not work for the Beverly Hills Hilton so don't expect much. parking is tight. Don't expect to find a spot after 11pm. Take the metro train if possible and leave your car at the hotel. The rooms are a little small and are limited with power outlets. There is enough to do with in a 3 mile radius that you shouldn't be in your room anyways.
Everything was awesome . Pete was great with us . I will defitinally return (:
The location is great. San Diego is super relaxed, if you compare it to the traffic in LA or SF. So if you just stay over night in this hotel, it is perfect.
I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.
The staff at Hotel Vyvant were fantastic! They gave wonderful recommendations and were very accomodating. The hotel itself is very cute, clean and quaint. There are flatscreen teleisions in the room along with very nice (and new!) bathrobes. The location is within walking distance of Little Italy. There are some wonderful resturaunts there and a FABULOUS and fun wine bar (M Winehouse) that I highly recommend as well.
Ok first we arrived at the hotel and parked right in front no problem. We went to check in and we're greater by a beautiful very friendly dark haired gal who checked us in and gave us instructions. She then escorted us to our room ! Showed us how the AC works and told us about breakfast. Our room was SO cute!! Actually this whole hotel was very cute I loved the vibe and decor. Everything was so so clean to! We had to share a bathroom which was no problem at all. One of the things I really loved about this place was that it did not feel like a hotel at all, in fact it felt like I was staying at a friends house or a bandb. It was excellant. I was already happy and then then next morning when my husband went to get breakfast and bring it back into the room I was SO impressed with it! Delicious orange juice, chobani yogurt and macadamia nut granola, assorted pastries and my favorite banana bread! I have never had a breakfast that delicious and fresh! Overall, location, staff, cleanliness, and vibe get a total 10 stars in my book!! ThE people were ALL so friendly! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone !
close to little italy and waterfront super noisy from highway and air planes very frequently
Its really clean and the staff is super nicr
Friendly staff, nicely appointed space, comfortable rooms, welcoming patio area to enjoy the weather, amazing location in Little Italy and close to Balboa park. Small neighborhood park two blocks away where my daughter played soccer everyday.
Hotel staff was friendly. Hotel room was not at all near to the pictures shown on website.
The Hotel Vyvant is a charming little boutique hotel very near to Little Italy. My stay was one night only. The young women at the desk when I arrived was friendly, welcoming, and professional. There was a bit of highway noise but I am reasonably sound sleeper and I have no problems with it. Even though I'm pretty attentive to detail I somehow managed to miss that I would have a shared bathroom. The room rate of $105 was a good bargain with a bathroom, but without I would not have paid $60 for my room. I am not a "hotel person" and have few requirements, but a bathroom is one of them. My other gripe is that I was there for a business meeting and needed to be on my way before the complimentary breakfast was served starting at 8am That is simply too late for many guests. So for $105 I got a very small bedroom with a small TV and a sitting chair. There was no desk to work, and a shared bathroom and no breakfast.
The staff is really friendly. The room was small, especially if you have a lot of luggage, but certainly manageable. Good value for the price. Like being in the Little Italy section of San Diego. My room was facing Grape Street which is unfortunately very, very LOUD. Even through the double paned windows. I'm not sure there's a cheap solution. I didn't ask for earplugs at the desk, but maybe for the louder rooms, a pair or two could be situated in the bathroom.
Loved the spa and small hotel feel No breakfast during the week
The room is nice and clean, decent view. There were no towels in my room or the shared bathroom. Front desk has certain operating hours so no one to help. I had to leave for business right when front desk came in for the day. Drying with old clothes was no bueno.
My husband and I loved the Old World feel and how very friendly the staff is! We felt very welcomed and the breakfast was fantastic! We especially like how clean Hotel Vyvant is... This is not overlooked like it is at other hotels we've stayed at. Thanks to John and his staff, our stay in San Diego was super comfortable. This is one boutique hotel that knows how to treat people! We will definitely be back. We had to leave :(
Location was good. Staff was kind and helpful. Shower drain clogged. There was not any free breakfast like Kayak said there would be, really bummed about that. Pretty spendy for quality and bathrooms could have been cleaner.
Location & price. Free Wi-FI was faster than more expensive hotels Tiny room & extremely basic. Not enough parking.
Clean rooms with a mini fridge. Free parking with spots open. 5 min walk to little italy. 30 minute walk to gaslamp. Nothing. Everything worked out great for us.
Location Outdated and uncomfortable
Friendly service, clean room Nothing
The view of the ocean was great. Our room faced the street. It is not luxurious but it is clean and the value is outstanding. I also appreciated the remotes for the television - they actually clean them! The staff in particular Michele (I believe that was her name) was friendly, accommodating and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. Not much I didn't like, again the value was great so if you want a ton of frills and luxury look elsewhere.
The location was the only good quality about this hotel. We were put in a room that had a roach problem, it was disgusting. When I complained to the front desk he did absolutely nothing to compensate me for having to stay in a filthy room. This should be a hotel listed for one night stands, not for a couple wanting to stay waterfront. I will never stay here again.
great location... the toilet clogged twice after my boys used it... :(
LOCATION, comfortable bed, easy parking, clean room, value, ease of check in We stayed on the bottom floor and we where able to hear the people above us walking around, the bathroom was really small, room decor was dated
The hotel was very close to the airport, the area was very quiet other than the airplanes passing by. The restrooms of the motel were dirty and the blankets, I believe it needed more cleaning to be done. I did not feel comfortable in sleeping on the covers that they had on the beds. The room smelled, like dirty, it needed more cleaning.
No microwave. The cover was dirty. Location was kool. It was 5 minutes from everything air port and car rental. The staff was nice.
Wood floors, comfy bed, good location, good shower, excellent WiFi (very important these days), good TV, very helpful staff. Too much air freshener/odor cover up.
The bed bugs.
The location was great and good value for our money the hotel need to improve on the maintenance of the pool the restrooms and their locks. we had problems with our card keys on day one. it falling behind when compared to other luxery hotels on the same street.
centrally located, although very close to the airport the noise is not so badmodest, but clean nothing, it gives what you would expect
I liked the stay because it's clean and relatively quiet despite the airplanes above. It is close to harbor, downtown and transportation. Location, location and location! Location and rate
clean, good wifi, fine beds, easy to get around to all areas of san diego, would stay here again it's not the marriott, it's still a motel 6 - so there's that
The hotel was clean and close to lots of fun activities. This is an inexpensive hotel close to the airport. It can be a bit noisy due to its proximity to the airport. It's well kept and clean. If you're just looking for a place to sleep at night this will work well for you.
The cost is affordable and its location was not bad for me.
Check in was quick. The room was nice. The airport is right across the road and you are at the end of a runway. The planes landing are right overhead. BUT you get used to that very quickly and it did not keep me up. At about 2 am a crack/meth head and is girlfriend are outside yelling at the top of their lungs BECAUSE HE CAN”T FIND HIS SMOKES !!!!! This went on for about 30 to 45 mins. Then later some drunks came back to their rooms. The desk person should have called the cops on the crack/meth heads and got them the heck out of there.
Price for location That bed. Landing Planes fly right over hotel.
Nothing I only wanted to use the shower after a morning at the beach. I was getting ready for a meeting later. I could not find anyone to check in with, so I went to find the bathroom. The shower had a urinal in it that was filled will pee! The sink had a tampon floating in it. I left and didn't use or touch anything.
