This hotel was very accommodating and made it easy to plan day trips, activities etc. free breakfast in the morning was very good. Very friendly staff. Excellent location
I would like to stress the staff, specially Miss Larissa at the Reception (very attentive and competent) and Miss Mari (Supervisor) both of them are very capable professionals. Hotel is absolutely the best pick by Ipanema-Leblon beaches-seaside in Rio de Janeiro. Safety (My vault was violated).
Because of the problem as below, they gave us a glorious suite on the 15th floor overlooking the sea for the 3 days and made the bathroom work for me (in a wheelchair) as best they could. Very upset the hotel did not recognise our disabled oceanfront room as booked and confirmed through you. A disabled room became available on the 2nd day but we refused it as it looked on to a brick wall.
Concierge Rooms and front desk staff.
I did not like it!! The hotel is completely overpriced! Reduce the price so it's consistent with the facilities and service you offer! The hotel, the breakfast, the minibar, the laudry is completely overpriced. You tried to cheat my on the breakfast by charging 20 BRL extra on an already expensive breakfast. When I asked why the guy said it was because of the cheese. So I asked him to remove it and come back with the cheese that was included in the price. And guess what - he came back with exactly the same cheese and a bill that was reduced from 85 BRL to 65 BRL! The water in the roomcost 19 BRL! My company pays the bills for me but I still care about the cost. The only luxurious thing about Caesar Park is the prices. Bad bed, stained carpets and noisy ariconditioning is not luxury.
The location was fantastic, just in front of the beach and had people taking care of you on the beach as well. The price was a little bit high I would say but in accordance with Rio's standards.
Nothing..... Bad service, extremely expensiv,
Situated in a nice, safe area on Copacaban Beach close to Ipanema, this is a good quality hotel
The location right next to the beach is perfect, and the view from the top terrace bar at the 16th floor is absoluty amazing When I checked in, they tried to charged a higher amount then the rate I got at booking.com. I was there with a friend, and they gave me some crap about the reservation only was for one person, although it was for two people. After showing them the receipt where it said clearly that it was booked for two people, I got the right price.
Scarcly furnished room, really not a 4 star hotel, more like a European 2-3 star. Scummy carpet in the hallways and breakfast room, tile floors, bathroom OK, and very loud room due to the fact that the windows are old single pane facing forward to the Copacabana side. Nice view though ;) see above
Excelente location, very good breakfast Room was small
Great Pool.....good breakfast Few rooms with view to the ocean
Restaurant food was very good and well priced. Wireless internet was good. I would like more comfortable and updated facilities in room
Hotel is close to the beach. It was built very luxury, but time started taking its own.
Free Internet connection - excellent breakfast buffet - staff very helpful and kind. Maintenance overdue - (i.e. sink tap loosely mounted, windows poorly closing, elevetor not funtioning) - Noise in the room from traffic in the street and poor isolation of the windows
Location , Staff, great breakfast, Very accommodating and honest staff. Roof top observation for the new year fire works display Room was located between elevator and utility room, so we heard noise at night. Note this was a room we paid 600.00$ a night for.
Excellent breakfast, good location, comfortable.
The staff were very accomodating. I thought the room furnishings and bed were not up to standards that I expected.
Location is great. Reception Staff and Doorman helped us a lot on any problem. Service is also very good in comparion with the other hotels around the area. Communication is a big problem. All the staff should speak english. Rooms need renovation.
Good location, wonderful staff
10 minute walk to Leblon Rooms were dated, not worth what we paid. Spa was disgustingly dirty and service was not very good. Shuttle bus only goes every 2 or so hours and you need to book in for the return trip home (which when you're on holiday you don't really want to have to think about and plan your day around!). Cab back is around 10USD each time so it adds up when you want to go in during the day, come back and get ready and go in again in the night. Last shuttle home is at 10pm which in Brazil is much too early.
Location of hotel was good, as away from Ipanema Beach and the crowds, had a small beach directly below hotel and a shuttle bus into town Hotel old 60's style hideous architecture, tiling/grouting in bathroom appalling, lack of coffee shop and attractive restaurant (apart from buffet restaurant near pool, but don't want to eat there every night) in evening, lighting in bar and hotel restaurant appalling at night - depressing. Very small pizza restaurant near pool, but always full as not nearly enough tables - very old fashioned - could renovate into lovely larger seating area as lots of room surrounding restaurant. Hotel overpriced considering all these drawbacks, staff pleasant in reception but many waiters offhand - not up to normal Sheraton high standards
The beach was private, clean and beautiful...a nice break from the crowded beaches of Ipanema or Copacabana. The driver service at the hotel was our best experience with knowledgeable drivers who were courteous and friendly. The concierge service was also helpful and friendly. The hotel is terribly dated and run down. The prices are absolutely astronomical and do no warrant such mark ups. A simple buffet breakfast with very poor quality food and choices cost $26 US per person. Drinks are $9 for the traditional Caperienha where outside the hotel you pay a maximum of $5. The front desk staff at check in was overwhelmed due to the holiday season, but they were not only unfriendly, they were slow and inefficient. It took us over two hours to check in and once we finally got our rooms, they did not honor our prepaid reservation. This was eventually corrected, but the frustration was not worth it.
Very good location - close to everywhere This is not truely 5 star hotel. It is poorly managed, no sence for details in hotel interier.
Nice little beach in the back of the hotel We had a cab driver over charge us and asked for help from the security in front of the hotel. We got an eye roll, much correction in language use so that by the time they heard the story the cab driver had left....and then they said wow they over charged you-you shouldn't have paid! The door actually broke to our room...the wind blew it shut hard, another room was not ready for about 10 hours for us to move into. They kept saying within the hour....It took over two hours to get a mix up in rooms straitened out when we arrived. We spent a lot of time resolving issue's, instead of relaxing and enjoying our vacation. Beds are uncomfortable too. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
Close to the city, spa was very good, staff was friendly. Renovation, at times noise and blokking a bit of the view.
Flott utsikt over Cocabana! Fantastisk frokost, selv om jeg savnet gryn/frokostblandingen med youghurt. Frukten oppveier!
Beliggenhet, sikkerhet, tidleg frokost, heilt ok rom. Det var dårleg nettforbindelse. Det betyr mykje på forretningsreiser.
Meget sentralt på Copacabana. God service. Følelse av sikkerhet, trygghet. Raskere resepsjon.
Location is very good, near from all interesting places the size of the bedding was lower than the bed, lack of a simple coffee machine in room
The hotel food was excellent - especially the restaurant. The staff was very helpful and nothing too much trouble. The location was good. I booked a sea view room and a semi deluxe room. When I checked in I double checked the room type with reception who confirmed what I had booked. When we were taken to our room it overlooked a brick wall and no sea view. We were not very happy and asked for a change of room immediately as this is not acceptable. I have read on holiday blogs that this is a regular occurance with this hotel. I would have checked out straight away had the room not been changed.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was good. The location was good for my business event The room was on an internal lightwell and was very dark. The decor was very dated but there were too few ceiling lights. There were building works going on in the lightwell and this caused some disturbance.
location i have stayed only for 10 hours, so I didn' t find any! The view was awful! Ask for seaview!
Fairly good location. I cannot really say anything much more that is positive about this hotel. Like most hotels on the sea front in Rio it is grossly overpriced. The beds were poor quality and uncomfortable. The internet service did not work and they charged me US$2.30 for a cup of tea! Stayed at this hotel 21 years ago -it has not improved with time. By the way, there was NO partial sea view unless you put your head 5 ft out of the window.
We were upgraded to a suite with fantastic view. Staff excellent. Good breakfast.
I stayed at the refurbished area of the hotel: Double room with partial sea view (It was not necessary, the sea is a few meters from the hotel). Comfortable facilities. Reception staff and room service were very attentive and professional. Breakfast very good. Thel place where coffee is served is too small, incompatible with the size of the hotel. In despite of this, it was good
The breakfast buffet was excellent with a very wide variety of fresh fruit and the view from the beach-front rooms was amazing. The front desk was understaffed and even the most simple request required that we stay in line for 10 minutes. But once you got there the staff was courteous and helpful.
Central location, good facilities and good English speakers at threception
The staff were plesant and helpful, as stayed previously was comfortable and enjoyable The hotels needs to be refurb asap as it lags behind modern 5 star hotels now, also ran out of silly things like tea, tomato juice and nuts !!!
The only things that I believe they value the money you pay at Pestana are the excellent service, the friendly staff and the perfect location. Make sure you get an ocean view room or better choose another hotel. The hotel can`t classified as a five stars hotel, very old deteriorated rooms and corridors, 80th time furniture, awful illumination and appalling facilities. the hotel needs an overall urgent renovations.
Location, pool, view, restaurant. Reception clerks are not kind even rude. I think they don't know the word " sorry ". I was confused who is a customer or a clerk. And even they lied to me. (the parking lot was free but not anymore. - This website is also needed to change the information.) I called them to confirm the reservation and parking lot. At that time they said, the parking lot is free but we paid r$20 per day. They said it's paid from 6 months ago. I think maybe I called ghost. They don't remember our conversation on the phone. It doesn't matter to pay for parking lot but they gave me wrong information, lied to me and never say sorry. I want to ask, is this 5 star hotel?, Are they trained about manner?
Very poor hotel for a five star. The room are very old style, not at all comfortable. wireless very expensive. Breakfast very poor also for a 5* hotel. Artificial orange juice in a country like Brasil!.... There is a taxi service associated with the hotel that practice prices very high compared with normal taxis. The price changes depending on the day and worker on the entrance of the hotel, etc....
The location is the best you could ask in Rio. The suite was the most amazing I have seen with two doors to a huge balcony where you can have your morning coffee overseeing Copacabana beach.
I like the friendly staff and the great location of the hotel. The rooftop pool was also a nice touch. The rooms were very old and will need renovations.
staff very friendly and helpful; great location; very good restaurant! rooms not great; adequate however
I liked the location, the staff and the lobby/restaurant/bar. The rooms are very dated. Downstairs is very nice so when you see the bedroom is disappointing.
Great location. Fantastic spacious room. Charging US$40 for 24h internet will make me choose a different hotel next time.
The hotel is conveniently located with amazing views over Copacabana beach from the rooftop. The booking.com rate made it excellent value for money compared to published rates. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was a bit run down - I have stayed here 3 times in the last 6 years and nothing has been done to touch up the rooms - room in serious need of a paint job; bed linen had holes in it, the bedspreads had stains on them - not what I would expect of a 5-star hotel. The rug in the lounge area at the lobby needs a serious cleaning job! Breakfast (optional) rather expensive.
the safety and well management of the reception the way waiters asks you when in ur way to breakfast about ur room number??
I enjoyed my stay very much and found that everything was comparable to what you would expect from an International Hotel I only stayed for one night so there was no time for likes or dislikes. However I must say that the Breakfast was excellent.
i was robed on the beach at the hotel while sitting in a hotel chair
Just a breakfast was good. Many different fruit Hotel really poor. Rooms unbealivble small, like a toilet. Very noisy
Bed was comfortable, breakfast was pretty comprehensive. Nothing else worthy of comment. Hotel is clean and I suppose nice, but for the price paid, it is considered overated and a rip off. Rooms are wood everywhere and coulurs used are a sad blend of same shades. so it feels like your sleeping in a wooden box, Bathroom was small and also no bathrobes incuded, which for a superior double is not the same as other copacabana hotels. Ok for one night passing through, but definetely not a family or long stay venue, Roof top bar is also bad as well. Worth a miss this one unless your stuck which I was.
The manager was helpful, fair and considerate. The hotel and your website did not advise me in advance of a policy against having guests in the room.
The room and the view over copacobana beach was amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Good location - a small hotel compared with others in Rio. Very strict on departure times, unless you are willing to pay a supplement.
Very nice staff
lifts are excellent and fast. breakfast was always very good. ALL the staff (really all of them) were always very courteous and i felt all my belonging were safe. when i stay in other hotels i always take my passport and wallet out with me, i dont even trust the safes; not here. even when i moved rooms, the staff brought things i forgot to my new room. excellent wifi internet facility. first room i stayed in on the 12th floor was too noisy from the machinery/swimming pool engine/airconditioner. got moved to the 10th floor which was better, but windows facing the beach had restricted stay which limited the views one could get. and the walls felt i tad thin. i could easily hear people in the corridor and coughing from the other room.
I was very disappointed to arrive before midday and be charge for an extra nights accommodation when I actually only stayed for one night!!!!!!!!!! Constant work by the pool, and workmen sleeping on the floor all afternoon
Location is very good I find it quite expensive
I liked the breakfast...eggs, fruit, pastries, meats, cheeses, and coffee The shower in my room was actually one of the best I've ever had. The steam room was nice and the view from the pool waa spectacular. Elevators were a bit shoddy. Overall, I had a pleasant stay Elevators, towels, having to put my key card in a slot in order for the lights and a/c to function.
They were so attentive and accommodating
This hotel has many great advantages: 1. location- to the beach and Ipenema 2. access to restuarantants & supermarkets 3. outstanding staff (Cesar was outstanding) 4. rooftop view of the Christ Reedemer 5. breakfest was pretty good 6. guest atmosphere was pretty cool Furniture is a little outdated..
location, room is very comfortable. breakfast place is too small and always packed. you have to pay for the safe deposit box in your room? absurd!
in a good location, and close to the beaches of rio, plus good restaurants.Helpful staff, and in a good, safe area of the city
Excellent! Safe! PERFECT location. Helpful staff. Beautiful, clean rooms. Adequate space. close to beach/attractions/sightseeing. THOUROUGHLY recommend. excellent value pool area
Nice stay with helpful staff. May come back again.
Close proximity to beaches, safe location and great environment of Leblon and easy access to city. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Free WiFi was an essential facility to maintain business contact whilst enjoying a holiday.
The location is perfect. Rooms are confortable and very clean. The staff was kind dedicated. I had a problem with my air conditioning system and they solved it fast. The breakfast was very good.
Excellent location in a safe neighbourhood.
It was central and in a safe area in Rio. The first room we were offered on the third floor was at the back and faced straight out on to a weather worn/dirty concrete wall - I can't imagine anyone would have wanted to stay there at the price charged at the hotel, so we had to be asked to be moved - and we were with no fuss - so that was fine. I imagine only rooms on the Rue General Artigas side are good like the one we ended up with. The staff were great and friendly. Coffee at breakfast was bad in teh breakfast area (it was like all North American bar/restaurant/hotel coffee normally is) considering coffee is a staple export of Brazil this was a shock. There was no ice machine for drinks brought back to hotel - that would have been nice - I imagine particularly so in summer in Rio. No cheap option for them to arrange just ordinary general laundry - all priced as separate expensive individual to be washed items.
The staff were very accomodating in meeting our requests. The room on our second stay was a little small and dark.
The thing that I liked most was the staff. They were very kind all the time. Also, the breakfast the hotel's location and the room were very good. No doubt about it. Perhaps the room's rate was a little expensive
The location. No.
Wonderfully helpful registration staff. They were helpful in finding restaurants and booking trips. We didn't speak the language and needed assistance. The rooms were clean functional and unique. It would be helpful to have a clock in the room but that is not really a complaint.
The beach was just at the door step. They also had a towel service at the beach which was very convenient.
The location and the view. Starting to get mold on the ceilings and a little tatty around the edges.
We had a room on the 22nd view with a lateral view over the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema, which was amazing. The food in Bar da Praia and Bar d'Hotel is delicious. Although the rooms are well equipped, they need some refurbishment, especially the bathroom, which however clean and a good shower, gives an "overused" impression. At the check-out they wanted to charge the breakfast. Luckily I had the print of my reservation with me. The bill was corrected immediately.
location overpriced, the front desk staff kept trying to sell us ovepriced tours, etc.
difficulty to communicate with the staff no body speak other language(only in the receptions!)
Wifi was reliable and breakfast/location were OK - about a 5 minute walk to the beach in a pretty decent and well lit neighborhood. For US travelers, this is very reminiscent of the highway motels you may have been to in the early 90s - cable TV on a faded CRT tube TV, weird controls for the lights, noisy wall air conditioning unit that sort-of worked and bathroom that's sketchy in every way possible - with a dripping shower to boot. Staff at checkin wasn't too interested in offering maps, directions, suggestions - felt very awkward having to pry some details out of them and all answers were one or two words. They were quite chatty about offering tours and doing currency exchange. At $250/night this is borderline criminal of an accommodation but they are cashing in on the Olympics.
the location was good the room was dirty and dusty, , TV did not work, AC was broken too! had to change room. second room the toilets broke. The room service was terrible, it took 2 hours for the food to come and the food was aweful. The swimming pool had so much bleach that my shorts have bleach stains!
THe air conditioning, the roof top pool and also the wide choice of television channels.
Good breakfast, city tours, good airconditioning Poor internet connectivity...the connection was breaking up
The hotel was what you would expect for the money. The rooms were nice and clean, the breakfast was good and there was a roof top pool We booked this hotel because they said that they had a airport shuttle service, they do not. The staff could have been more helpful and they charge 50c a minute for the internet.
I reviewed this hotel in full on my website, please check it out. Alistair Casey http://alistaircasey.com/blog/hotel-atlantico-copacabana
Excellent location in Copacabana. Very helpful staff - front desk, restaurant in particular Watch out for the weekend groups from Uruguay in Friday out Sunday they take over the pool area and adjacent areas on 14th floor - very noisy!
The staff of the hotel was great, especially Mr. Mario Rene from reception. the stars assigned to hotels in Rio de Janeiro should be reviewed. In general, a 4 stars hotel in Rio is equivalent to a 3-star hotel in europe and this hotel is no exception.
I liked the service the staff provided. I can't remember the guys name at the front desk. He was really nice and spoke 34 different languages which is a plus. The elevators, to small.
Location. The bedding was thread bear and dingy. They charge for ice. No iron.
For the value of my money, this was perfect hotel. It was clean, great location ( Copacabana, Metro and restaurants). The staff was polite (Vinnie, Amanda and Rene were remarkable). I found the mattress a bit uncomfortable, but not intolerable.
Location is good Doesn't qualify as a 4 star hotel. I booked two luxury rooms and recieved 1 basic room and another room which was low level. The facilities are old and the room was not 100% clean. Before charging more than 100 dollars per night, they should take a close look at how a real luxury hotel looks like..
we booked the hotel through kayak- their website was not working, we had some issues at check in but they were resolved, the stay was great, the rooms were clean and nice , we were upgraded to the executive lounge - breakfast and light dinner was included.food was very good. service was excellent- internet was reasonably fast, all in all - a pleasant stay-
very large rooms/suites and quiet on high floors. quite expensive
Despite looking a dated, this is a surprisingly comfortable, hip and laid back hotel, located in a really safe area of Leblon and in walking distance of the shops / bars. Only 3 rooms per floor, with the deluxe suite being big and welcoming (in a 1970s way, but with flat screen TVs in lunge and bedroom); the normal suite is a little underwhelming. The master suites have the full beach view, and are more open plan...but pricey. If you can't afford the copacabana palace or the fasano, this is a decent alternative Staff at check in had a slightly odd moment where they knowingly tried to overcharge me, but they soon came clean. The lobby is very underwhelming.
Comfort and Location The decoration.
The location and the staff are great! It's a bit expensive but the appartments are spacious and the service is great! The best restaurants of Leblon like Celeiro is really close!
Not a lot. There were massive reno works which were very noisy and the front of the building was a total mess. A temporary reception desk was there but the staff were very slow and no apoligies for the mess. The rooms need a good paint job and the bathroom was something out of a bad 80s movie!
The location The value for money is not too high. Large room good bad but poor furnished, courtains are old and ruined ... Given the location and the range of other hotels in the area it is pretty fair.
Pleasant staff, excellent location, comfortable common areas. Room was good, large, with king-size bed and patio. Buses from airport will drop guests outside hotel; buses or metro to Downtown can be caught a couple of blocks away. Bathroom fixtures old.
internet connection was very poor
the kind staff, the good location, the reasonable price
the location is marvellous. my room was in the 12th floor. the elevator will take you to the 11th only, then you have to use the stairs. i asked fo a king bed, they gave me a room with a two beds.
Location near Copacobana beach and helpful staff The insects in the room, including cockroaches ;(
Its been a firm favourite of mine for more than 10 years during my business trips to Brazil, Hotel has undergone some excellent re-styling for both accommodition and Hotel lobby/restaurant-bar facilities. If you can get booked in the go for it. Bath robes probably need changing out - A minor complaint only and should not be seen as something which ruins the day.
Recently refurbished on the ground floor to an extremely high standard. My room was 12th floor with personal balcony and overlooking Copacabana. Bathroom was a bit dated and needed sorting but this did not prevent me having a great time.
Great room, great locations and friendly staff
Close to Copacabana beach was a plus with great views of the beach, seaview, etc. Noise from the main road outside the hotel was a slight problem at night. Hotel was not that well appointed.
Tim Angela like urine. Beds are horrible with plastic sheets. Noisy renovations all day.
The very friendly and good manners of your pesonnel in the reception
Location, right in front Copacabana beach. The building and rooms are old, and I expected more luxury for their charges, but Rio is entirely under reform for the World Cup 2014...
Enjoyed the large room and clean environment. 1. The hotel receiption staff found it difficult to communicate in English. 2. Asked for a early morning wake up call. Which we did not receive.
Location is acceptable, good breakfast. poor room for the price. we had room 519.
Excellent position on the beachfront and not in the most busy part, beautifull view from the room, cross the street and you are on the beach, easy trip to Sugarloaf mountain, you can hire the bike and have a nice ride along the Copacabana and Ipanema beach basic comfort for money you pay, but you pay for the view, be cautious, when changing money at the reception
Position, big rooms, sea view
Staff people were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great The room was superficially cleaned.
Front desk staff and duty manager were very helpful and courteous, as well as professional. I asked for the upgrade to an Ocean View suite and was given a nice spacious suite at not a high supplement. Location is good, with Copacabana beach right outside, at a quieter end. Well-known and popular upmarket seafood restaurant Marius is nearby. Room service breakfast was charged additionally, even though breakfast was included in my rate through booking.com
