Pretty decent hotel in the heart of Chinatown. Very reasonable price for parking car overnight. Door to balcony wasn't properly sealed so I could hear the traffic and wind outside all night.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice, not gourmet, but much better than a cold Continental breakfast. Fresh made ton order waffles, bacon, and sausage. I had no complaints.
He location was great. We were in the area for birthday festivities and were easily able to walk to most of the places we needed to go or were a quick taxi ride from anywhere downtown. The building was clean and any of our interactions with staff were pleasant. What we didn't realize was the morning we were to check out the the street we needed to leave on was to be closed for a Chinese New Year parade. Unless we wanted to be stuck there until well into the afternoon we needed to leave much earlier than checkout. Seeing as this hotel was booked purely so we did not have to drive home after a night of celebrating (drinking), having to wake up early was an unwelcome surprise. Of course, this was not the hotel's fault, just pay attention to when you will be staying to avoid this kind of surprise.
Breakfast is good enough. Stuff is friendly. Room is big and location of hotel is pretty convenient. They charge for parking $10 for 24 hours, when its $3 for a day for everyone. We had a lot of hair on the floor from previous customers, water was leaking, wifi didn't properly work until I called tech support. The walls between rooms are super thin so we could hear everything what was happening in next door room.
The graveyard front desk boy was friendly and responsive and dictated to resolving our issue. We stayed here for two nights due to business and an unfortunate family members passing. Each night we were unluckily placed next to a noisy neighbor. Called front desk twice each night and issue was hardly resolved. It's like the walls to this place are paper thin! We could hear everything going on next door and upstairs. This hotel doesn't have a policy about being noisy after 10 PM so if you're looking to get a good nights rest, do not stay here.
Breakfast facility was very clean and the staff were very friendly Poor internet service and wifi capability Parking fee $10 was unacceptable
Clean rooms, friendly staff
Everything about this place was good value for money. Only one thing that lets them down by not providing a good wifi service. If they did the place would be perfect.
Breakfast was good and not too crowded, room was large and comfortable. No complaints. Parking was first come so if you get there late you are out of luck
Everything was just ok,the lady's in the breakfast were really nice Front dest really bad attitude
Gloat ion close to destination. Very nice breKfast. Eating area clean. Odd parking situation. Rooms need more lighting.
The complimentary breakfast was excellent. Fresh fruit, pastry, coffee, cereal, and sausage and egg, self-baked waffles.....you name it., they have EVERYTHING you want to have for the breakfast. But what I like the most is the friendly lady who works there. She jumps out of the kitchen for each gust, and ask what we would like them to cook. We order the baked tortilla filled with cheese with salsa and sour cream. It was delicious!!!! If you like the complimentary fresh breakfast, this place is perfect! The room was beautifully renovated. In spite of the outside, inside was perfectly romantic!
Spacious and clean room. Thin walls between rooms. Can be noisy if the patrons next door is loud.
The staff was really nice and helpful. Bathroom was big and clean. The room and corridor was a bit smelly.
Staff was very friendly Stay was comfortable & good pricing offers snacks/drinks 24/7 Would definitely stay here again
Friendly staff, nice room amenities Location- not too close to highway
The rooms were not big but the service was excellent. Also they have a guest lobby with free feuitnand snacks and which makes up for the no breakfast. This hotel was affordable and located in an older but clean neighborhood with food and entertainment within driving distance.
The staff was very nice!
It was newly remodeled There were a few ants in the bathroom
The room was clean and comfortable. The hot water never got hot.
Very nice and clean To much noise fw.
the fixtures aare new its not a raggedy place the faucet in my room was leaking other than that everything was great

I liked how clean and comfortable it was. We will stay there again. I don't mind taking the stairs, however staying on the third floor can become a workout. Elevator would have been nice :) Also, had a handicapped room, trying to figure out how someone in a wheel chair would get to the third floor?
Absolutely loved the hotel, will definitely stay here again. Looks can be deceiving, rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Clean and Comfortable The price was a bit much for the basic facilities offered.
A little bit far from the city of Pasadena
The cont. breakfast was well planned and very good. We enjoyed the staff and the cleanness of the room. We would stay again. Thanks.
clean They still come in to clean when I put the sign out
Location - This was during The Tournament of Roses and they were very accomodating (breakfast started early on Jan 1) and helpful. They provided what they promised. Nothing -
Safe neighborhood and in walking distance to a Sizzler Restaurant, where you get a great steak and an oustanding salat buffet for bargain of $ 10 and up. Hollywood and old Pasadena can be reached by car within minutes, there is also a bus we did not check out.
Clean and roomy. Not bad for the $$$. I'll stay here again!
The room itself was a great size, comfortable. The two staff I met were very cold. Not enough lighting in the room.
Great budget motel for the price. Clean and safe but not fancy. Will stay there again.
It's very quaint charming hotel. Ran by a husband and wife that were very pleasant and accommodating. The room was very clean and had a 42' flat screen with direct tv. It looks like they are in the process of remodeling. The walls had spackle as though they are in the process of painting. There were no shampoos in the bathroom, hangers in the closet, or dishes in the kitchen. Def not a three star
larger space in the room as comparing to other Super 8. Free breakfast includes made-yourself waffle (some other Super 8 don't) the neighoring area wasn't as bad as we thought (downtown LA) bit smell in the room, but manageable.
Happy with value, location, cleanliness and comfort. Also with inclusions such as fridge, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine etc. Breakfast was OK. The desk staff could have made a better effort at friendliness and helpfulness. The neighbourhood seemed a bit low class left us feeling a bit uncomfortable.
nearby chinatown, It's easy to find chinese food. It's very near street and nosey.
front desk was helpful. room was clean.
Very close to Dodger stadium. Easy walk to the game and a neighborhood bar.
Reasonable prices for quality stay
close to the area we needed to be in
The price is quite reasonable for the condition of the room. The room was strongly scented, which gave me a bad headache every time I got back.
I liked the location of the Super 8. We went to a Dodger game. No.
Cleanliness, location, noise level (low), and staff all exceeded expectations. Breakfast. Have a protein option like pb, hard boiled egg, cream cheese. Fruit was yucky and old/moldy. Beds are rock solid.
The room had a TV with plenty of channels. Mattress was comfortable. The only thing that justifies the $90 per night rate is a series of superficial renovations that do little to hide the fact that this is a fleabag motel worth perhaps $30 or $40 a night. My room had a brand new heater (which was already broken), which made for a very uncomfortable night when the outside temperature was below 40. Both of the brand new light fixtures were broken, so I had to use my cell phone as a flash light in my pitch dark hotel room. When I brought these issues up to staff, she said the handyman was "supposed to fix that today but will come back tomorrow." It also doesn't help that the place is in a seriously rough neighborhood, right on the freeway on one side (very loud) and disaffected youth drinking & yelling in the street on the other. Bottom line: save your $90 and get a really comfortable room in the valley. Don't get tricked like me!
Basic but cheap
Breakfast should not be called "breakfast". It consisted only of sweet cake, cold coffee with whitener, tea and a not working orange and apple juice dispenser.
I would say the staff was extremely helpfull and make you feel happy they are always say yes, The location is poor if you dont have a car
We were looking for a cheaper hotel room because we were only staying one night and wouldn't be in the hotel much. America's best value was the most affordable in the area, and although the surroundings weren't ideal, the hotel was clean, smelled good, and the bed was comfortable. The room cooled off quickly with the AC, and I got to catch up on one of my shows with the cable on-demand. All in all, no complaints. It was not in the area we wanted to spend most of our time in, but it was just a quick drive (only a few miles, as quick as it gets in LA) to all the attractions/hot spots. We would have liked a later check out, but were told they could only extend us by 30 minutes without charge due to bookings. And like I said the street and immediate surroundings didn't appear to be very inviting, but it was good enough for us for a one night stay.
It was clean close to Hollywood and other attractions good price for being that close to places Not very many parking spots once it's full you have to find one on the street. The room was a bit small felt stuffy.
C leanliness, staff very courteous and helpfull. Breakfast started very late,, 730 , for an early riser. Also had problem with tiolet. Bar to handle rusted and broke off chain. We were told had to wait for a man to arrive to go see what needed to be done. After 2nd complaint, lady at front desk came and checked. She ended up finding another hole further up the bar to fix. Soda vending machine out of order.
Good location, 15 min drive to Downtown, Hollywood, Venice Beach, Universal Studios, Beverly Hills and most other tourist attractions. Clean and well equipped (microwave, fridge, hair dryer, free wifi) The neighbourhood looks pretty bad especially at night
Appeared clean. There was no running water in the morning so couldn't take a shower, brush teeth, or flush the toilet. I put my parents up for the night and they are in their seventies. When I asked for some compensation or at least bottled water for my parents they could't help. Very upset that my parents had to endure such conditions.
nothing neighboorhood- i come out to my car at 3a random guy walking down the street sees me and follows me around the motel i had to ask the staff to escort him off premises. homeless people down the street. no soap and towels were thin and hard. FINALLY i am a frequent traveler so im familiar with payments and deposits especially with debit cards. At checkin there is a 100 DOLLAR deposit!! i can see 50 dollars but for this establishment isnt worth it as the night before i stayed at the HILTON with a 50$ deposit. i was fine with the amount of deposit but something told me to check my bank account online after my stay which i rarely do. most hotels just hold the deposit...ABVI actually took the money off my card i called the motel and they claim the money will be refunded within 5-7 business days. Wait..WHAT?! the woman on the phone stated ABVI is independently own and every establishment is different. i responded..thank you for informing me as i will NEVER stay here again!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!
For a quiet, low-budget place to stay, the room was fine (size and cleanliness) and the staff tried their best when sollicited. The parking was open spaced and on first-come, first served basis. We had rented a car and were a bit worried about leaving it at the back of the hotel in a small street (the "rest" of the parking...) Oh and the breakfast? hahahaha.....
Cleanliness refrigerator parking
The staff. Needed some help and staff went all out to provide. That's the best I liked about this Hotel. A bit away from the main activity street.
Attendant at the office where very accommodating and nice. They care and understand there customers.
The front desk staff was friendly . There isn't anywhere near by to walk to get food or supplies if you are from out of town . They also have a no visitor policy . As a young professional with no experience in LA ... It was not a good choice . It is far from LAX as well, but overall it did the job !
They were doing conduction at the motel and food not inform me when I had called to confirm the reservation. We arrived early in the morning about 2:00 and the worker's started about 6:00. We drove out there to see the doctors at USC and when we arrived at our appointment we were so tired we were not able to focus correctly on the doctors information. The room itself was ok.
TV channel selection Room was drafty and very cold. Chewing gum wasnt removed from several places, but rest of it was very clean. Breakfast was very poor, some toast bread and 2 selections of marmelade.
For a motel near LA it was cheap. Other motels are more expensive. This motel was the worst we've been to during our trip in California. Most of the staff was not nice. The location was bad.
close to what I needed Smoking room- I didn't know ahead of time! Inexpensive, but you get what you pay for
The price per night was very affordable and the location was close to most Southern California attractions. It turned out to be a great home base for day trips.
Liked the access, rates, and sufficient parking. Didn't like the shower (head was too low), bed (springy and 2 pillows only for a king), and breakfast (more like just coffee).
room is spacious, own microwave and refrigerator, internet access (you do need a cable for that, you can get it at the reception). Staff was friendly. Close to a little supermarket. Breakfast was ok. there weren't a lot of facilities except for internet, but you needed a cable for that. They don't respond to emails, it's not in the middle of the city, you have to take the bus to get to downtown LA.
The motel was close to our spot of interested in Alhambra, nothing more, nothing less. Everything was as expected. Nothing to complain about.
Nonthing Staff was dishonest and rude. Don't trust these thieves.
Good service Clean facility Basic Basic Faucet knobs were a little hard to twist and move
The room was spacious and there was free parking.
The staff, from reception until departure, was very friendly and eager to help. We had the feelling we were in more of a bed and breakfast than a motel room. All in all, it was a pleasant experience and we would stay there again. The breakfasts were marginal. Selections were limited (no oatmeal) and were stopped a tad too soon (exacerbated by the lobby clock being fast). Their internet service was not quite as billed; a per-minute charge was chargeable.
The staff was very warm and friendly. The room was really nice, and it was clean. I definitely didn't expect it to be as nice as it was. The manager was accomodating.
The room was very clean when I arrived with most all of the expected amenities. Two non-feather pillows, desk with power and office chair for using laptop. Adequate towels, wash cloths, and soap. Good options for lighting. Two bottles of water. There was no place to hang clothes. I used the metal door stop on the door to the room. I stayed for a week and there was no cleaning service. I had to empty my own wastepaper baskets. However, there were many trash cans outside the rooms.
Great stay, got upgraded to the honeymoon suite for two nights it was a really cute room with jacuzzi!!!
Price Mattress was very cheap---hard to sleep on. Having to put a deposit down for the room key and remote control was kinda strange--but maybe common in that area.
The staff was nice and it was close to the hospital The door didn't have a deadbolt or privacy lock. The only lock was on the doorknob so I didn't feel safe. The bed was very hard.
The hotel staff was really nice to us and arranged for special room since it was wife's birthday. Hotel staff helped us whenever we needed any help.
Friendly and very helpful staff.
It was better than expected. The roooms were nice a it would be nice if there were more channels to choose from...

Rooms are recently renovated, coffee and donuts are available in the morning. Rooms were not clean: Urine remained on the toilet seats from a previous guests. Small bugs (bedbugs? Cockroach nymphs?) crawling around the room and bathroom. Hotel is NOT 2 1/2 stars. Half of the hotel is inhabited by full time, poor residents!
Staff The remote didn't work in the room but I'm sure they would have given me a new one. It was very late and I didn't pursue it.
The free wireless access is very convenient.
Parking, close to the downtown and highway, quick to chech in and everything is as they offer. They should get more tv channel. Most of them are chinese. They need to get a better english speaker at the checking desk.
It was all very pleasant. Very clean throughout. I did get a giant rash on my arm the next day from what I believe are bed bugs.
Even though the room is small, there were a fridge, and a hair dryer. Free Internet and parking is the plus. Not enough light in the room. Bed is too close to the heater.
Great value, staff, location. Great. Nothing
The parking was great.
cheaper room the housekeeper didnt knock and just walked in
The room was very good The neighborhood is not very pleasant at nights, but then again, LA is not very pleasant at nights at general
The room was smelly and not clean. There are unknown human hairs on the pillows as well as in the towels. The telephone in the room cannot be used. The staff was not friendly.
Price I booked a king room, but was given a double. Wifi did not work in my room and I was told that it only worked in the lower level rooms. Was then woken up at 8am by hotel construction. The room was covered in long black hairs including the towels. Was going to stay 4 nights, but after 1 night wanted to leave. Avoid at all costs!
Location, price Odd smell in the room, noisy rooms (a lot of traffic from 6 am)
