Overall experience doesn't match with price by a long shot. Holton above the hill much better luxury and value. Best asset you have is extraordinary concierge.
Heated Pool, Great bedding and comfortable bed, Keurig Coffee Maker, plenty of complimentary newspapers in the morning. However, cheap toilet paper and scant coffee condiments in the room just didn't seem to match the rest of the decor and hospitality. These two little things would be so easy to improve on....But in the meantime, bring your own coffee creamer!
• Interiors are set in modern decor rarely found in hotels on this price range • Room I stayed was clean, spacious and had no odors • Staff were helpful • Plenty free parking space in front • Location is great for visiting wineries in Northern Sonoma • WiFi signal wasn’t good in my room so I had to be in lobby area to get better connection. This part needs improvement. The staff acknowledged this issue and are working on to improve it. • Breakfast (not complimentary) is served in a restaurant on the first floor Overall, Fountaingrove Inn is a nice place for the rate I paid. There were negative reviews in the past but I think the hotel has improved since. Regardless what other booking web sites rate this hotel 3 stars or 4 stars, the rate you pay reflects the quality. You just don’t pay a hundred forty dollar room and expect the place to be like the Hilton - then you just move up to the next budget level of $200+. Bad Wifi connection in my room.
The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Their ad did not indicate their pool and hot tub was closed for the winter. We were very disappointed to find this out when we checked in. They offered us passes to the FountainGrove club, which was nice, but if we'd known in advance they had no hot tub on the property, we would have gone elsewhere. We've been to this hotel many times before, and were disappointed with how it's changed.
Liked it, however had a negative interaction with a staff member that left a bad taste.
Nice location/value with friendly staff and very comfy beds. A no brainer if in the area.
REally liked the location and the staff was really nice and fun. I felt like the hotel was overpriced.
Absolutely nothing. Hotel was dirty, had random cars driving in, had several questionable people standing outside their rooms drinking and smoking and carrying out some sort of deal on their phone. The morning we left two people were being arrested. Well never stay at an extended stay again. Refer to above.
The hotel was close enough to where we needed to be and close to the highway This definitely feels like a cheap hotel that was bought by extended stay and re-badged. There isn't anything particularly bad about the hotel, but nothing great either. Works if you're on a budget and spending most of your time out around the area. I stayed with two friends, if my wife were with me, I'd definitely opt for something nicer.
Nothing Filthy room right next to the freeway and it smelled. We asked for another room and that was marginally better with less stains on the carpet. Other guest looked more like the homeless alongside the highway on ramp. Two rooms down from our second room was a sheriffs eviction notice taped to the door. The smell of marijuana coming from one of other rooms and the appearance of the other guest suggest that the hotel was used for less then legal activities. This place should be taken off the list of available places. My wife and I considered leaving after returning from dinner even though we would forfeit our $150. But stuck it out and left early the next morning. Also, the promise of continental breakfast was some thermos coffee and nature valley granola bars!
The front desk staff was so rude that we actually cancelled our room reservations and stayed at a different hotel in the area. The place looked a bit shady. We are so glad that we left.
Staff was very nice and friendly Conditions are very dirty outside on the facility grounds. Linens are clean with out checking with a black light. Carpet is filthy, wore shoes or flip-flops all the time. House keeping only comes if you stay at least 8 days. Very noisy hotel above and beside the rooms. We will not stay in this location again
It was very loud since it was close to the freeway. Very basic accommodations. Room had a strange smell.
Easy to find. Right off the freeway. Showed up at 4pm, check in was at 3 and they had no rooms clean. Lots of people wandering around, maybe they were waiting for rooms to be cleaned. The room was okay, but you have to ask for a coffee pot, cups, etc. I had stayed in an Extended Stay before, this was not the same quality. Next to freeway and car dealerships. Its okay if you just need a place to crash for a night, but not a touristy or relaxing place to be. Don't think I'll be back.
I enjoyed having a kitchen in the room. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. The room and the facility need updating, maintenance, and some renovation. Improved TV access would be appreciated. The location is not within walking distance of any stores or restaurants. This hotel is overpriced.
Cobwebs in corners of bathroom
The rooms were nice really clean but the corridors and walk ways looked old and needed a updating. No big deal it was overall a very nice hotel. updating of carpet and stairways.
Gym facility. Low rise hotel. Luxury
Actually the room was ok and the hotel in general was nice and well mantained The location is far from any "life form". Actually you have to drive for miles to reach places. The absence of free internet in the room.
Privacy Old falling apart furniture
Very good standards
It was an ok hotel. Nothing was wrong with it per se. Nothing was great either. The bathroom, the bed, the room: all adequete. Don't expect magic and luxury and it's the right place to stay. In fairness it was clean. The staff wasn't informative. Ask them for recommended wineries, they google the exact same list you could, and read it to you. Ask for a restaurant, they'll tell you the ones you passed on your drive in.
A first class hotel, suitable for visiting the Napa & Sonoma Valleys. The hotel is on the outskirt of Santa Rosa and not in walking distance of its restaurants.
The central location in the wine valley, and the evening wine taste were the best things
Location and service level. I felt they could have opened the kitchens earlier and made a runners breakfast. We were there for the healdsburg half marathon. I would have definitely have paid for a nice bowl of oatmeal at 5am....the run started at 7.15am. Just a thought.
Rooms very clean and good staff service. A very relaxed place to stay.
This is the second time I stayed at the Flamingo and both times the hotel was very noisy, people coming in and out up to 5:00 am. There is a nightclub on the property. People talking very loud and slamming doors. I will stay somewhere else next time.
I enjoy the pool to keep kids busy The check-out time is too early at 11am. If there's an extra hour, it would be great!
very nice for family food not to expensive, clean nice pool and pool area were not enough outlets in room for recharging phone etc no computor for public use they did say they were getting one and that it was stolen first time I ever heard that at hotel?
The room was clean and comfortable. Pool area was well kept. Was surprised to see wood floors in a hotel.
Close to family. When I arrived the night manager was RUDE!!! When we entered our room, there was a used bar of soap in the bathroom - very unsanitary!!! There was a pill on the tray where the wine glasses and bottle of wine was - very dangerous!! What if a child had gotten hold of that?!?! A group of us wanted to go to the bar and have a drink but were told we had to pay a $12 cover charge because it was salsa night. We had no intention of salsa dancing, just wanted to chat over a drink. To top it off, they decided that putting up scaffolding right outside our room at 6:47 am on Monday morning was ok.
Nice pools and spa.
It's a nice hotel with all the amenities for either a business or family stay including a nice pool, spa (I've never used) and restaurant. Staff always friendly and it is only 20 min from the Santa Rosa airport
outdoor pool is beautiful and garden is immaculate nearby outdoor mall has shopping and restaurants slightly more expensive than we thought it would be
We love the feel at the Flamingo! People come there knowing theres good times and relaxation to be had! We all love the romantic history and ambiance. Has a great feel. Rooms are sexy and nice. People are friendly and helpful. Food at terrace grill is delicious. Spa services very luxurious! We are local residents and go frequently just to get away and have fun. Also love the events they put on. Having to leave!
We went as part of a wedding party. Very friendly and courteous staff. They upgraded us to a suite at no cost. It's close to several nice hiking areas and lots of wine tasting. Very casual, cozy, user friendly. And, thanks to your website, we got a great deal. I should add that the staff at the hotel suggested that I check on some of the discount websites for a cheaper rate ... How helpful is that? An overall excellent experience.
Upgrade to a suite. Excellent room. Quiet. No TV in bedroom.
There was a total lack of attention to detail and lack of response to travelers staying there. It took two nights and my taking a picture of my bed and threatening to send the picture to corporate for the Hyatt to use a mattress cover and sheets that were big enough to fit the king bed so that they would stay on through the night. Then when we needed to order an early breakfast room service and needed the card to put on the doorknob, it took three calls and we still had no response and no breakfast card. We needed to go to sleep so went to bed without being able to order our room service breakfast. This was harmful to us in the morning with our early meeting/tournament. Even simple details like having regular coffee packs and decaffeinated coffee packs in the room they were unable to accomplish. Offering us one free breakfast was not sufficient to make up for the mess the hotel is in. They give lip service to telling supervisors and handling problems but they do not.
The one younger girl working was very nice! None of this was her fault. The Management should have stepped in !! We reserved a king room that was one of the most expensive rooms available in Santa Rosa. We arrived and checked into the room on a friday evening. When entering the room it had a extremely strong cigarette smell. So I went and told the front counter that we needed to get a different room. They said everything was booked except a room with 2 queen beds. I said we booked a king room for me and my girlfriend so this was not acceptable. I called every other hotel and everything was full by this time in the afternoon. Now the room wasnt bad but if your going to charge top dollar you should give people what they want. Also we ordered room service breakfast and a wakeup call and never received . This place is not living up to the Hyatt name. They should have offered a discount or something if there gonna downgrade me and basically say this is what you get. I felt like I was forced to pay 300+ dollars or be homeless for the night. I will be staying across the street at the Marriot next time.
Had a very pleasant stay. Rooms were newer, pool and hot tub were nice. Excellent location- we walked to dinner/drinks. Short drive to wineries in Healdsburg and Santa Rosa
It was a great location while traveling along wine country. The bathroom blower made the bathroom extremely hot.
Centrally located to evertything on our itinerary Microwave and fridge in the room Stale air in the room Neither good norr terrible Average bed Bland decor Needs an upgrade
been staying here for 30 years, and have never been disappointed . Very clean, neat, peaceful motel. Its all GREAT!
very little .... is property used as a residence by the locals ??? If homeless are allowed to 'hang' then maybe the parking lot lite should work ?? Desk staff's BS !!
There was a already another man in our room.
I got to sleep somewhere other than my car. Excessive road noise, the bed was old a creaky, there was a chair but not table, there was an iron but no ironing board or flat surface other than the floor to utilize the iron, entrance closest to my room did not open at any hour.
There is an ok swimming pool. Even though they have RFID keys for interior and exterior doors, they actually lock all exterior doors at 9pm!? Very rude behavior, inexcusable. Heard staff people in shouting matches with guests at 2am. The staff exudes an attitude of anger, they hate customers. Weird place. Room was extremely dirty, carpets had assorted paint stains, etc. Pretty gross.
Locarion Sleazy place Tiny rooms. No hangers or place to hang clothes Breakfast was cheesy and breakfast room was filthy Many shady characters coming and going there
Nothing They first gave me a room that someone already used and messed up the bed. Then my new room the first day. The cleaning people took all my clothes. Last day the shower water was brown. Couldn't wait to leave. Horrible horrible place.
Location is great for easy access to anywhere Northern Sonoma Valley. The staff was super friendly. My room was in the front, so noise was not a problem. The back rooms are racing the highway. If noise is a problem for you... Bring ear plugs.
Nothing!!! Filthy and awful customer service.
Had a pool. Waffle maker. Ran out of waffle batter at an overcrowded breakfast. Found two cut off straws under our desk.
Clean, comfortable rooms, great food and beverage options, and super welcoming staff made this hotel one I will visit again next time I am in town.
Salad and other produce was fresh. My friend ordered regular black iced tea and they brewed it fresh for her and gave her the extra in a cup to go. Salad was a little tasteless and the salad dressing was extremely thick. The dressing did not easily poor from the small pitcher it was served in. Turkey sausage for breakfast lacked much flavor. Fruit substitution at breakfast was extremely small portion. The cut up fruit was served on the plate in a separate cup and the cup was about half empty.
The room was comfortable. It included things like a TV of sufficient size and containing many cable channels. The room had soap and shampoo, iron and ironing board, but no coffee maker. The towels were fresh. The room contained a refrigerator and microwave, plusses for anyone staying for a while. The Inn is near all sorts of eateries, fast and slow, and the liquor store across the street carries all sorts of beverages, soft and hard. Noise from busy Santa Rosa Avenue could not be heard. We didn't try the complimentary continental breakfast. Parking was available near the room. Wireless internet coverage was sporadic and difficult to set up. The refrigerator was not plugged in and the tray beneath the ice compartment was filled with stale water when we arrived. We moved the heavy dresser to locate the outlet for the three-pronged refrigerator plug that would not fit into the extension cord behind it. The soda machine on the first floor was not working. Someone had inserted a sheet of paper into the dollar bill slot warning guests that the machine took their money and didn't dispense any product.
It is what it is. It is what it is. It is what it is.
Would not stay again Room not made yet, expensive, same hotel for $49 only 17 miles away
The location to downtown and immediate access to the freeway.
The room offered a microwave, refridgerator, free wifi. All was just fine with powerful shower and hot water was right. I only needed a place to rest and leave relatively early the next day. No problems, I would stay again. Nothing.
the price was very reasonable Rooms are old but clean
Friendly staff, convenient location, nice TV, clean Mattress was saggy, sloped toward the middle
I liked it was just off US-101. Just off the freeway. Room was fine although I didn't get my bed specification. Pricewise it was OK and offered breakfast and Wi-Fi which was great. I would stay here again. That I didn't get my bed specification.
Just location was close to my job. Room had really bad smell and was dirty.
Price quoted online was not what I paid due to 'Weekend Rates', Bathroom door had a hinge loose, toilet seat was loose, no weatherstripping around front door(allowing light and noise to enter), Drapes interfered with the AC unit !
The managers were great! Friendly, helpful Not clean! Black hair in shower and mold
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Good cable tv. bathroom had mold. Went to the office at 7:30 for coffee and free breakfast and it was not open.
The location was convienent The shower did not drain. The small bathroom showed evidence of water leakage from the shower. The grout in the shower was black and in need of cleaning.
Brand new mattresses arrived the same day as we did. Motel was freshly painted inside and out. Best shower of our entire trip.
The stains on the sheets and on the chair.
Very clean, lots of pillow!
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at reception.
The room was okay but very small. Clean. Shower water pressure was better than most. The Direct TV channel selection was better than most basic cable systems. Place was quiet. Starbucks was next door and the freeway southbound ramp was very close by. First at the rate I expected better. Santa Rosa due to its proximity to the California wine country is fairly pricey. The room was very small and fairly basic. A Motel 6 would have been I presume as adequate but cheaper. The continental breakfast, I believe was advertised to start at 6:30, I went down on Sunday at 7 and found the office dark. (it was open at 7:45 when leaving). Do not expect much other than vacuum carafe coffee, toast and fruit. At least that is what I viewed from the window as I passed by. In short I expected a little better (not much) than basic lodging and what I got was basic 2 star lodging
Booked reservation on amona.com on May 5th for a stay on May 20th and they did not have a room for us. Which was pre-paid on May 5th.
locating on a parking slot of a commercial center nothing to do with wine country atmosphere basic motel, much too expensive for what it is dont trust images
very near to good restaurants, clean, quiet I made 3 reservations under one name hoping we would all have rooms in the same building. Front desk person said the hotel thought it was only one person and they did not put all of us in the same room - did not make any sense.
We found La Rose Hotel to be very welcoming and immaculate. We liked all the light in our room and the large marble bathroom. The parking was conveniently located nearby. The hotel was near excellent restaurants and interesting shops. We enjoyed all the fresh fruit offered as a part of the complimentary breakfast buffet. The water for tea was not hot, but when asked, they promptly remedied the problem. It would add a nice ambiance if music was played during the breakfast hours.
Loved the convenient location, ease of parking, and closeness to amenities. Liked that I felt safe walking around the neighborhood. Looking forward to staying once the Smart Train starts running all the way to Larkspur. You could park the car & never move it for an extended stay. The free breakfast was a bonus & quite delicious. Lots of street noise; took one night to get used to. Slept much better the second night.
The hotel had a vintage turn of the century look & feel to it. An being this was a honeymoon stay my beautiful bride really appreciated the classic feel it brought to our honeymoon. This was very centrally located from everywhere we wanted to go. Most of the restaurants we went to were either a short walk away or a very short drive away. Access to & from the freeway was very simple which made it that much better for day trips which we took several. There was a few things that I did see that was troublesome. An that was the cleanliness of the bathroom. Along the ceiling was what appears to be either small buildup of water stains or mildew. Other than that the hotel was very good. The other issue I had was by no means within the control of the hotel but it is still an issue. Every morning & everyday we were there all we heard an saw was the yelling from the local transients in the park across the street from the hotel. That was a big issue I had every time I dropped of my wife at the door to go park the car. I can't he but think that one would try to harass or rob her as she's walking inside while I'm parking our car across the street.
The outside of the hotel look cute and historical. The inside is other story.
Room was clean with convenient amenities; fridge, microwave, etc. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows! I always appreciate a place that doesn't skimp on pillows. Location is decent, close to interstate and walkable (during daylight) from downtown. Although a channel guide is provided by the hotel, the tv could use an update and the wifi did not work. First world problems...
Clean, nice staff.. Uncomfortable beds, bare minimum room it felt a. Bit like a prison cell, breakfast wasn't very good just granola bars coffee and sunny D stuff. It didn't add anything to the trip
Clean, good-sized room and bathroom. Full amenities (mini-fridge, microwave, cable, wifi, coffee, iron and board, hair dryer) plus complimentary in-room snacks and juice. Cordial, helpful office staff and attentive housekeeping staff. Near major mall for provisions and eats. On major street (but not noisy) with easy access to nearby downtown. Upgrade from regular door keys to secure card system would be nice.
Very clean and felt safe. The owner/manager seems to live on site, which is reassuring. Good amenities (microwave, fridge, hair dryer, ironing board). Free wifi, though it was spotty at times. Free breakfast snacks in the room (various granola bars and juices). Location is convenient to freeway. Downsides, the bedding and curtains were thin and minimal. It was hard to close the curtains all the way, and I wished I had brought a blanket of my own. The walls were also thin. It was easy to hear street noise and neighbors above, even though I kept the fan going all night. Overall a solid choice for the price point. If you want to sleep better, bing earplugs or pay more to go somewhere else.
The hotel is 20 minutes from everything. At first I was nervous that it was right off the highway but that was nothing to be concerned about. It is very quiet. Views are of the adjacent vineyard. The grounds are lovely and full of surprises (like the bocce court). The food was fantastic (the main restaurant and John Ash). The rooms are so spacious and comfortable. Best value in wine country. There is nothing not to like.
Good location. Some nice touches, Noisy on the second floor, lots of traffic noise.
Beds were nice, room size was good. The showers are horrible! Comes straight down from ceiling very high up with no water pressure and no door to close so water goes all over the bathroom!
The two ladies I spoke with when I arrived were very nice and helpful. the room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Everything looked nice and completely serviceable for me needs of just being there one night. There were just details (some small and some not so small) that weren't right. No toilet paper in a bathroom is inexcusable. A sink that doesn't drain, AT ALL, is annoying. The bedside clock not being updated from a recent daylight savings change. All of those aren't deal breakers, but they need to be taken care of.
Shower was nice Floor, Walls, and Counters were filthy
The rooms were very nice and modern....... That's about all I can say good. The wall were thin and you could hear everything. We stayed for 2 days and didn't get much sleep. It's not in the best part of town and there were a lot of kids using the place to party. 1 person working at a time so they are usually very busy and its impossible to get anything u need. The last night there the cops showed up because an employees went into a room and stole money and it was on camera so the employee was arrested. Although we put the "please clean" hanger on the door they never services our room while we were gone during the day.
Price was right and I just needed a place to sleep. This kind of hotel works for that quite well. If you're road tripping and just need a place to crash, you already know what to do. Internet was not free, and it was very slow. No shampoo. Extremely thin walls (multiple people bad much better time than I did). When checking in, attendant gave me a code for free wifi in exchange for positive review online — not cool.
The room was clean and the location was great. Screaming adults after midnight. I smelled weed and saw a broken crack pipe on the ground by my car.
I didn't like anything. Room smelled like smoke, they came to spray the room but it didn't help at all. They offered to switch me to a room without a TV, which I wish I would have done because the TV wouldn't turn on. The light in the sink area wouldn't turn on either. The bed was so uncomfortable that I have really bad shoulder pain still after 2 days. Way over priced for what you get, I would not recommend staying here.
If you're just looking for a place to stay and want to save money, but won't settle for a dump, this is your place. It has everything you need and it looks good. They don't have any fancy touches, but they don't look neglected either. This place is well cared for. Not a honeymoon spot, but definitely a nice place to stay for anyone on the road. See what I liked. It includes what it's not. I have nothing bad to say about this place.
Price was decent, location close to freeway Air conditioning was not working, lamps were not working room was not very clean
The second room we tried didn't reek of cigarette smoke. No hot water in the morning sucked. It was also really loud.
The room (except the bathroom) looked essentially brand new, modern, and particularly nice. Black stone counter by sink, bright colors, wood floors... Bathroom was a bit of a surprise, given how mice the rest of the room was. Toilet might have been newer, but tub was in very bad shape. Looked like it was refinished many years ago and the paint/fiberglass/coating of some sort was peeling off everywhere, and they put two rubber antislip mats in the bottom to cover as much of this peeling stuff as possible, but it still looked pretty bad. But given how mice the rest of the room is, I can only guess that the place is half renovated and the tub will be going soon!
Location was ok The AC doesn't work on auto so it's on and freeze or off. It also doesn't take moisture out of the air so the bed seemed damp. The people that stay there were shady, the staff wants more info and IDs than a 4 star hotel, the showers are awful, they don't provide shampoo like other hotels, the small towels feel like sand paper, there is no iron and board in the room and if you want to rent one you need to leave your lisence along with $10 and still no board. Sink for the bathroom is in the bedroom, They need guards at night.
