We've usually been to adult only resorts so we were worried about all the kids but it wasn't bad at all. This resort was great for the value. The music can get loud on one side of the pool area, but if you're on the other side, it's fine. We were also on the 6th floor and didn't hear any of the late music. It is far from downtown and traffic can build up on the one road. So if you wanted to go there, plan a full day down there.
We loved the whole experience with our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 adult children). It was a clean, beautiful resort with great food and wonderful staff. We especially liked the prime-rib dinner in the buffet restaurant, and enjoyed an excellent Italian meal at the specialty restaurant. Great service everywhere. Compliments to everyone. The first night was a bit noisy with a graduation party, but they were gone the next day.
Everything is there. Dont need to go off site if you dont want to. Few vendors. nice beach and public beach nearby. Four star hotel with all kinds of distractions and ways to spend your money. Nightly entertainment is on par with others. Great pools. Great location fabulous rooms - get the ones with sunset sun. They are warmer Fighting for beach chairs was a gigantic pain. why do people 'claim' chairs and not show up at all. Introduced American competitive attitudes which intrudes on the vacay experience.
We were upgraded for our stay to a grand master suite which was phenomenal! We loved the view from the wrap around balcony and the room was very comfortable. The pool and beach were also fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay overall and had a great time. The food was decent but not overly impressive, especially for the price of the all-inclusive. The reservations at the restaurants booked up prior to our arrival so we never had the chance to eat anywhere except the buffet, so book your reservations early. Overall a great time though! Would definitely go back.
Excellent meals and service in the Asian and Mexican restaurants. (Didn’t return to the Italian restaurant after the first night, since my wife's steak was too salty to eat and she didn’t want to risk it again.) Lunchtime Shore Grill and La Cevicheria also very good. The activities staff (Efraim, Julio, Jorge, Sebastian and others) were friendly and enthusiastic, but their offerings were limited, compared to others where we've stayed, by the lack of open space on this narrow strip of property, and almost daily private events took what little was there during our week-long stay. Very nice gym facilities. Pool temperature was comfortably warm, even during this December visit. Liquor quality and selection was very good, though the mixing was inconsistent, so you never really knew how anything more complicated than well drinks were going to taste. Bars in Mexico without fresh bananas? Really? Two large corporate conventions/events during the week we were there blocked access to the volleyball court five days (and counting when we left yesterday). A nighttime event was roped off right below our window, with massive speakers blasting us until 11 p.m., making it nearly impossible to hear the TV. They need to decide whether they want to be an oceanside resort or a convention center. Many others we talked with also felt like second-class guests, just filling the space around the conventions. Every day, heavy equipment worked on and around the narrow strip of rocks that is their "beach," right below the pools, trying to build huge barriers by piling boulders in the ocean. Horrible noise and frequent diesel fumes several hours per day. Tough to relax. (When we asked, they did let us move to a cabana bed one day when the fumes were making us sick.) Why didn’t they protect their seafront while they were doing the original construction? Now it’s been dragging on since at least August! Cleaned our room only while we were at dinner, after the room sat untended all day, and we had to ask four of our seven nights. Finally didn’t bother asking on our last full day there. Easily the worst of our 10+ all-inclusive experiences. Would not return or recommend.
- The overall service is great. - Its a new hotel, so everything is in perfect conditions. - The SPA is fantastic. - The food is great but limited options. - Cleanliness of the hotel is excellent - Staff strives to provide excellent care - The beach is pretty rocky. - Limited green areas - All Inclusive System with limited dinning options.
The service was great. The facilites (bars, restaurants, spa, pool) were nice and well cared for. Everything inside the resort was easily accessible. The gym was a bit small and cramped. The location of the resort made it difficult to leave on foot - if you are looking for hiking, running, or something like that, you'll need to cab to a different site.
I stayed a week at the Grand Fiesta Americana Vallarta and absolutely loved my stay. From the moment I got there, the staff was fantastic. They were always willing to help and were very happy and accomodating. The room itself was amazing, and had a fridge stocked with beer, soda, and snacks. No liquor in the room, sadly, so when the bars closed at 1am, there were no options other than having another beer. My room had a really nice Nespresso machine, though they ran out of capsules midway through my stay. No worries as they had a Starbucks-like coffee shop downstairs, though that meant I couldn't have a late night coffee. The bathroom had a small light so you didn't have to turn the lights on in the middle of the night... it's a small thing, but it was a nice touch, and there were quite a few things like this around the room and around the property. The food was outstanding! Much better than any other all inclusive I've been to. I actually woke up to eat at the breakfast buffet, and Yu (the Japanese restaurant) for dinner quickly became my favorite due to their great sushi. The pools were a bit cold and the beach isn't that great.
The location is right on the beach and provides great views and ambiance. The hotel feels squished in between other hotels and buildings. The surrounding area is not pleasant to walk around, except for the beach. The hotel feels clean but then things will start to fail, like the toilet didn't work and lights didn't work in our room. The language barrier is obviously difficult to overcome when you need repairs like this, but I felt like the maintenance staff was irresponsible and would just disappear if they didn't know how to fix the problem. By far the most disappointing thing was the food. For an all inclusive, the food was intolerable. We only at the buffet and then the Mexican restaraunt and found both to be some of the worst food we have ever had. We paid more than we should for a last minute NYE trip but I feel totally ripped off.
Pool and beach and staff there and all restaurant staff and food amazing!!!! I emailed manager about a cost issue and never got a response and ceiling fan in room didn't work and showed head was clogged so only half the water holes worked so no water pressure
Attended the wedding of my best friend with no date, at this VERY romantic resort and had a GREAT time! Not a place to meet singles as it's mostly couples but there are so many things to do that the time simply flew by (but didn't feel like it at the same time)! The staff was INCREDIBLE!
The service was top notch. Facilities outstanding. Food was good. I have nothing negative about this place. They took care of me from the moment I arrived until I checked out.
I loved the room in the preferred with jacuzzi on the balcony. And the preferred bar. Most of the staff was nice, some others were nicer if you tipped. Pools and view were top notch. Other all inclusive resorts I've been at included some free excursions this one had none and not many daily activities to choose from. The options on food was limited on options and time. Only loved one restaurant, Bordeaux. Dress code requirements were a bit restrictive, should have more options for lenient dress. DON'T BUY LIQUOR ON THE CITY TOUR! COMPLETE RIP OFF!
Room upgraded, lovely view, good pool waiters and restaurant staff. Reception manager tried to overcharge me on room price that was agreed with Active Hotels coming up with all sorts of reasons for the overcharge - had to argue over phone and face to face at reception with me actually adding up with a calculator at front desk to show manager that he was wrong. Eventually he agreed that he was wrong but by that time I was really stressed and this spoiled by last few days- really embarassing. Hotel no atmosphere at night, no entertainment, no music, same taped music around the pool for 14 days!! Location at entrance not nice as in dirty street downtown and had to walk through more dirty streets to get to the malecon. Left same comments with hotel for future customers
The staff was absolutely phenomenal. My partner and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and the staff was so welcoming and helpful. We booked one of the Honeymoon Suites and was delighted with it. The jacuzzi and hammock chair on the balcony were a very pleasant surprise and we used them every night. We loved that all the rooms had a sea view and the sunsets were gorgeous! The pool was clean and kept at just the perfect temperature. We will be booking again for next year's vacation.
Staff was very nice. The facilities were clean. It did not promise anything it did not deliver. The price was the same as the 5-star hotels 25 minutes south. My reason for staying at Villa Premier was that is was close into town. But the surrounding area kind of sucked. And Puerto Vallarta is not a super nice place and I would suggest to stay in a higher end place and venture out once a day into town.
The hotel was in a great location and close to downtown. The rooms were spacious and clean. Small balconies, late maid service,
Staff was unconditional, very friendly and respectful. The pools were clean at all times as well as the whole property. The room was always clean and well maintained Their food is really good. Must try the japanese restaurant The beach is beautiful try snorkeling in there they have very cute fish. Sometimes, the trolley took forever. And if you are planning on leaving the property early before the trolley starts operating try to walk to the lobby because when we had our excursion to marrietas islands we called for a ride to the lobby ( we were in tower 5) and they never made it. We had to walk to the lobby and then wait for a taxi in the lobby. We ended up being late to the excursion meeting time. But were lucky enough to get in to the boat.
I hardly ever take the time to review places I've stayed, but I felt the need to share my opinion on this one... My fiance and I recently stayed 3 nights in the honeymoon suite, and we couldn't have been happier! The room (and the entire resort) was gorgeous, the food and drinks were great, and the staff were all sooo friendly and accommodating. It was luxury & relaxation at its finest, and we would highly recommend this resort to anyone! We are missing it already :)
Beautiful atmosphere, large room, good food. They sneakily roped us into a VERY unpleasant time share presentation and were pretty rude about it. We only stayed for 1 night so they basically soured our entire opinion of the place. You also need to take a shuttle and go through a bunch of annoying stairs or elevators just to get from your room to the main lobby.
clean hotel near dining and downtown. value was good for what we got through booking.com. staff was mostly friendly. only issue i had was when i requested a late check out, they refused. i asked to speak to a manager and they changed their mind and gave me an extra hour. just seemed weird, it was the first time i've ever been told no on a late check out request at any hotel.
The resort staff was amazing beyond any expectations. Friendly, helpful, and willing to go above and beyond to assist guests in any way. The resort is beautiful and well taken care of. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. I would recommend this resort to anyone and plan to come back soon. Thank you Daniel, Marco, Alan and Adrian. There are more people I would like to thank but I didn't get their names but they were great. Nothing.
The Marina area is less congested than the Zona Romantica which gives the whole area a laid back feel. The pool was a great size and you steps away from the beach. Easy bus transportation to other parts of town. Several restaurants in the area if you don't want hotel food. The public areas were nice with decorated with a certain flair. I expected more luxe giving the relatively high price - not Four Seasons standards but maybe a little more. The rooms were nice enough but the decor seemed to lack a certain Mexican spark. The rooms were more like generic hotel rooms - nice but generic.
The staff at the front desk and in lobby area, plus concierge went above and beyond to ensure we were assisted in a timely fashion. The proximity to walk over to the Vallarta Marina was great. The drinks on-site are very expensive.
The location. Ocean views. Pool area. The food could be better around the pool. Mikado was great as usual. The coffee shop could be better organized for order taking, paying. The bar is very nice and great atmosphere.
Staff is very friendly, pool areas are fantastic, lots of activities available, location is great (walkable to Malecon and downtown PV areas). Remodeled rooms are very nice (modern, luxurious), but not all rooms have been updated, and those that have not been updated are mediocre at best.
The pool side service we received from Manuel was the only good thing about our stay. He was very attentive, friendly, & fast with our drinks + food. I absolutely did not care for the pushy time share sales staff that circles around you every time we walked by. You couldn't even avoid them since their stand is right by the lobby & elevator. In addition, their sales tactics were pretty fraudulent. At first, everything sounds free, then these little fees start getting added and quoted rates change. Even when we were politely declining, they would follow you to the elevator or continue to push. I expected better from Sheraton than to allow this on their resort.
Great customer service Nothing
The pool area and service was really quite good. The constant barrage of timeshare sales people and lack of shuttle service from the airport was annoying. The DJ at the pool was loud and went on far too late. Breakfast was only available until 11 and the buffet breakfast was terribly overpriced. We found that the $100/person for the all inclusive was exorbitant.
Everyone was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The hotel was clean. The rooms were very clean. The view was breathtaking. The only complaint I have is that we booked a king bed and we got two double beds instead, we tried for two days to switch into a room with a king and gave up. They wanted to put us in a smaller room with no view.
The girl at the right side of entry . pushy in trying to get us to visit other hotel. Inconsiderate.
It was walking distance to town. I was given a room that was already occupied
The location of the hotel is excellent. It's close enough to walk to most things and is right on the beach. The pool area was wonderful too. We never struggled to find lounge chairs by the pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were simple but clean which was fine for our stay. The people in the room next to us stayed out late and were very noisy late at night when they were coming back to their hotel room so the walls must be somewhat thin. The food at the hotel was just ok. I'm glad that we didn't book the all inclusive option for our stay because we would have been tired of the food by the end of our stay. There are plenty of delicious restaurants nearby so there is no need to eat at the hotel all the time.
The location was central enough to walk most places and the bus and cab lines were easy to use. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very courteous. Adult beverages were pretty weak. The condition of the rooms was ok, but nothing special and ours was a bit musty. They were also doing renovations on the tops 2 floors of the hotel while we there. You could hear every conversation that anyone was having in the hall and our toilet would occasionally run for no reason and was LOUD. If you love bad covers of any song, then this resort has the music selection for you.
Location Cigarette butts on balcony, food trays left all day in hallway, leaked water from window, hot tub out of order, had to pay 50 pesos to print boarding passes. Upon checkout most guest service representatives would ask "how was your stay" "look forward to welcoming you back soon" --- NOTHING.
Great location near town easy to get to great restaurants and entertainment. Everything accessible at the property too! Staff great and accommodations comfortable with nice pools. Beach is not good but they are renovating it. Beach is bad, rocky everywhere and strong currents
Location from airport and short walk to town. Lunch was tasty. Many guests served way beyond their limit made for a sloppy atmosphere. We stayed for one night before heading to our resort in NV. Prob wouldn't do it again. if you're on spring break or a budget this place leaves a lot to be desired. Timeshare pitch was a hassle for guests staying only one night as well.
Upon check in we were given a different room that we had paid, After discussing several minutes , we get the room we booked in kayak website.
Friendly staff. Lots of nice swimming pools. Room outdated, and having to pay for wifi in room? This was our second hotel in PV. Not horrible, but probably wouldn't stay here again based on other options.
Pool design. Friendly check-in staff. Late check-out offered. Staff seemed stressed and not appreciated by supervisors. Pool lacked towels (were hidden in a rolling bucket), and had zero towels at 7pm when I wanted to go swimming. Lobby was cold and had no warmth or delights. Overpriced food. Far from center of Puerto Vallarta.
We loved the gym facilities, tennis courts. Great breakfast spread which was included, rooms were nice and clean. Staff friendly and would deliver drinks to the beach/ poolside. Wished the beach was longer to walk (cove with little peninsulas that were rocky to cross to get to the next small cove) Didn't like the lunch restaurant/ outdoor eating options during the day.
Having to pay for WIFI
Everything was pristine. I loved the temperature and style of the pools! So relaxing! Staff very friendly and helpful!
Great hotel, great value for your money, pay no attention to the complaints of lizzards and bugs on the rooms. All hotels in the Puerto Vallarta have this 'problem' because they are so close to nature.
Room was nice and relaxing. Check in was easy. Free wifi only in lobby. Beach was not cleanest water, but most if you go to the beach usually you would leave PVR.
Pool area, view, size of rooms, cleanliness, beach access, noise level, excellent service Still seemed expensive, food could be better
Every single person who works at the westin was SO nice! One morning at breakfast downstairs, I had mentioned to the waiter that my boyfriend and me were loving this place but getting bit so bad by mosquitos after he asked how we were doing. When I came back from getting my breakfast at the buffet, there was mosquito repellant sitting on our table. Arnoldo (our waiter) had left it there for us to use. So nice!! Everyone there was just happy and did whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable-which it was. This place is clean and set in the most perfect location. We cannot wait to go back!!!
Arrived late, but was able to extend check out the next day before we moved on to our next destination. Clean room. Not crowded. Free WiFi in the lobby area. Nice pool area and access to the beach.
Amazing staff service especially by he hotel greeter Pedro!since the minute we got there, he already had gone above and beyond to making our stay there the most welcoming. With this being said, The Westin definitely does not disappoint in how well present, accommodating, and easily accessible to the beach. Defitely recommend a stay here especially during March when all the spring breakers are in town!
We got the best room at the hotel top floor and with a perfect view of the city and beach also mountain the service was just perfect the food everything was just what we wish for could be happier by picking this hotel if you plan on going you won't go wrong Picking this hotel!
Loved everything about this place. Great food, great selection of beers and cocktails as part of the all inclusive package. My only complaint would be that the beds could be a bit more comfortable.
The Resort was pretty spot on and the lobby was simply stunning. We stayed on the 9th floor and got a great view of the beach and the surrounding area. Hotel staff was friendly and there were plenty of drinks. Family friendly resort Not exactly for younger couples looking to party. The resort next door looked like they were having a blast the entire time. Friendly Vallarta next door is where the party was happening: DJ, Mariachi, Banda, they had everything. I fee like Fiesta Americana should do something similar if not bigger. Not too much of a bummer though, quick taxi ride to where all the night life is happening
Great people, food and drinks Had to leave to early to go to the airport
Staff is very friendly and polite, always willing to please the customer. Comfortable bed. . Hotel pillows very hard. Very nice small beach, pool. Nice bar in the lobby that stays open late. The Ceviche was great at the restaurant by the beach. Beach waiters are excellent. Not being able to accommodate large groups in restaurants, only one table for 8 people in each restaurant, and always taken. Waiters were not permitted to join 2-3 tables to accommodate my party. Tables available at buffet but not too many choices of food, gets tiring after few days. In order to share some meals together as a family we end up eating out at La Leche and town restaurants, spending money not in budget. Would not recommend for groups with more than 5 people.
All around great stay!!!!!
Wonderful lobby, all rooms with ocean view, comfortable beds. On check in, the desk quoted 2 1/2 times the rate I had booked. I straightened out with a copy of the email from booking.com, On checking out, the same person did the same thing. One mistake I can understand. The same again, and within 24 hours makes me a bit leary. Service around the pool was good, but server never returned with change, thus "earning" a much higher tip than normal.
great location if you're looking for a beach and a swimming pool. all rooms have ocean view, are clean and have the expected comfort for this standard. Breakfast restaurant in particular is super: in open air and at the beach side. it might be the only negative point of this hotel, but the sound isolation of the rooms is terrible (concrete building, tiles and concrete all over the rooms and corridors (no carpets) boost any sound all over the building ).
The hospitality of the staff.
Well maintained, nice ambiance, comfortable beds, nice/big bathroom Own food/drinks may not be brought into the hotel (bag search)! Exaggerated prices for breakfast, internet etc. Room doors are not soundproof.
The pool and beach were wonderful. The food was great. Loved the omelette, smoothie and quesadilla stations for breakfast. The fish tacos are a must! The grill not only offered hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken wings but guacamole and pico. The rooms were all pool and ocean view and very adequate. But what really stood out was the staff. Not only were they friendly and accommodating to the guests but never saw any impatience or aggravation between coworkers. We WILL be back to Puerto Vallarta and it WILL be at Fiesta Americana.
good location wish they have free internet....food and drinks a little bit higher.
The staff worked realy hard to make a pleasant experience. The food was satisfactory at best. Not a good value for the money. Service to time share holders was a priority, the rest of the guests were given less attention.
Great service, outstanding food, beautiful resort. Many other guests were raving too. Best beachfront hotel for the money we've ever stayed in. Will definitely be back.
The beach was nice. The Italian Restaurant was adults only. We ate there all 3 nights of our stay. The staff was great and the resort very clean, as we have mostly found to be true in Mexico. We were there celebrating our 35th anniversary. This was not the place for a tranquil vacation. There were lots of children and families. They bused in people on Saturday, and picked them up on Sunday. The resort was very crowded, particularly the pool. The food was mostly buffets. The snack bar served a greasy hamburger that smelled great and tasted even better.
The staff is very friendly, helpful, thoughtful and try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. There is always an activity going on and the staff are very active in the activities. It is a smaller resort so the staff all get to know who you are relativity quickly. It really feels like you are staying with a family. The food is good, nothing spectacular and it doesn't change much. We did not go to the spa so we can't say anything about that. The staff puts on much of the entertainment and they do quite well and because you know them personally it makes the shows seem infinitely better. We paid by the night and it was the same price as a 4 star. Our room was big and clean. More than adequate but it is an older building in a hot humid climate so its pretty much what you would expect. It is also a smaller resort so groups can have a big influence on your stay. If you are expecting 4 or 5 star hotel rooms and food you may be disappointed. Honestly you have more fun here. If you are trying to stay away from kids it is challenging depending on groups staying.
The staff is excellent. This is not the place for someone who is well traveled. Even the most exclusive rooms are basic, No tubs, no frills. Spa is a joke, Lack of service and amenities. Pools are small and crowded with children, Beach is insanely small and rocky. Very limited lounging on the beach side. The place is covered with Timeshare families. So large parties with many screaming kids! Not the place for Honeymooners, Young singles/ couples, or a relaxing getaway. Best for a family of 5 on a budget.
Jorge who served drinks/food on the beach was excellent. Isabelle at front desk was very helpful. The bellman were very kind and held our bags for 3 days which was great! The servers at breakfast buffet were exceptional - able to order specialty coffees and made to order eggs, etc. Thank you! Thought we had booked a "deluxe" room with balcony. Learned upon check in that "deluxe" does not guarantee balcony or bed type. Rooms could use some updating. Beach service varied greatly depending on server. Great location! Great for large group - we had 25!
We have been coming to PV annually for 21 years and have stayed at Los Arcos Suites for last 12 years. Earlier stays were at main hotel Playa Los Arcos. Sadly the last two visits did not meet expectations. Both times there was a problem with our reservation even tho we had booked about two months in advance. The first time they put us in a tiny, tiny room behind the front desk. Room was at street level so we had to keep drapes closed all the time for privacy. After complaining and complaining we were able to switch rooms the second day. However, the switch took several hours of being told to come back at noon, at 1Pm, at 2pm only to be told new room was yet ready. Finally got into new room. Last Feb we booked room in advance and upon arrival were told that even tho we had a reservation, they did not have a room for us at the Suites and we would have to go to Los Arcos. Even tho they were supposedly expecting us we had to stand in line and wait and wait. Got to our room, whic...
The room was aways cleaned very well. We obtained good information and service from the staff. The hotel lobby was always clean. The staff was very friendly.
stayed here before. great area. rooms clean, friendly staff, beds are comfortable, quiet at night.internet cafes close by.
not a friendly place for alternative lifestyle vacation
Rooms are like small apartment, studio with Living room, Kitchen and bedroom so if you're only two or just yourself is a better value to stay at Casa Don~a Susana just accross the street and use the same services at the 3 hotel property (Hotel Playa los Arcos, Los Arcos Suites and Casa Dona Susana).
ME AND MY WIFE STAY HERE AFTER STAYING FOR 2 NIGHTS AT AN ALL INCLUSIVE HOTEL WITCH WE DIDNT LIKE. YOU PAY TOO MUCH MONEY FOR THE FOOD THEY GIVE YOU. AFTER THAT HORRYBLE EXPERIENCE WE CAME TO LOS ARCOS. WE SAVE A LOT OF MONEY ON THE ROOM AND WE WERE DOWNTOWN VALLARTA WITCH IS GREAT. WE WERE ABLE TO GO OUT DURING THE DAY AND AT NIGHT WE FELT REALLY SAFE THERES A LOT OF PEOPLE AT ALL TIMES. AND THERES A LOT OF PLACES WHERE YOU CAN GO EAT. NOT EVEN IF YOU GO TO THE EXPENSIVE RESTAURANTS YOU DONT SPEND ALOT OF MONEY. WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND WE WILL GO BACK THERE, NO MORE ALL INCLUSIVE FOR US. AT LEAST NOT IN VALLARTA.
We stayed at Los Arcos in June for the first time, and will go back. The hotel is older, but it adds to the charm. The courtyard/pool area is quite lovely, and it is right on the beach. The room istelf was just ok. A little musty smelling, but who goes on vacation to spend most of their time in a hotel room? The location of Los Arcos is fantastic. You can walk everywhere, but if you do need a cab, they are right outside. There was so much to do in Vallarta, we had a hard time choosing! Our concierge helped us out with deciding. I recommend doing the Rythyms of the Night cruise. It was amazing. Our Concierge also told us which places to eat at, and which to avoid! He was a great help to us.
My wife and I have stayed at Los Arcos Suites several times over the past ten years or so. It is near two other Los Arcos properties. One is a large family oriented hotel on the beach; the other is a smaller, older property with a great pool across the street fron Los Arcos Suites. Los Arcos Suites also has a fine pool and is generally un-crowded. The property has aged and needs updating. Furnishings, drapes, bedspreads are old and show their age. Bathroom fixtures are aged and need to be upgraded, as do the showers. The bathrooms are small and unattractive; unusual in Puerto Vallarta. The kitchenette is virtually useless; and why use it with so many fine food outlets nearby. The refrigerator did work and kept our beers cold. Nice staff, decent service. Would like to see more attention to detailed cleaning.
The Hotel Staff were excellent!. They were very helpful in helping with directions and my needs. They are welcoming and friendly to visitors like me. The building is quite old, refurbished room but quite cozy and roomy. I was given a room with small kitchen, with utensils. Never used it though since I opted to have 'all inclusive' with meals, etc. but had to go to the other property which is just a few steps away. Was given an extra dinner for staying more than 7 days but never utilized it. There should have been more choices of restaurant to dine but there is only one. The restaurant staff remembered me, was so superb since they recognized me and even got my drinks in advance so with food I like, when there is a line. Great visit!.
While comfortable and convenient, this hotel needs a remodel, all fixtures and furniture are old.
Great, friendly staff. Great part of town, within walking distance of just about everything. Good restaurants nearby. Beach just a short walk across Olas Altas. Able to use the amenities of all 3 hotel properties including beach service, pools, etc. Free wifi for guests, though can be unreliable on the Suites side, especially during the day, actually pretty good on the beach though. Great value with a traditional regional atmosphere.
This is the 2nd time we stayed here, the first time was 2 years ago and the room was very clean. This year when we got to our room the furniture was very dirty had to cover them with sheets. Other than that over all a good place.
The staff were all very accommodating, friendly and happy to help. The rooms were clean and well kept through the entire stay. The location was great and absolutely beautiful. The food wasn't very great. It seems the kitchen is not the cleanest of places. We found fish bones in the pork and the lettuce definitely got me sick. I spent 12 hours feeling the revenge, if you know what I mean. I would save the money on the all inclusive. Also, I would recommend the beer or simple drinks. Anything like margaritas or bloody Mary's tasted awful.
The staff are the friendliest you'll find in PVR. The food was excellent too. We were surprised with prime rib at the seafood restaurant. Yum! I didn't like that we basically missed our last day of vacation because of Hurricane Patricia. It barely rained and I never saw any high winds.
The food here is great! You can also bring in your own food to cook (the rooms have full kitchens and there are grills outside), but I would consider eating at the restaurants. A tip: The wifi is not free, but if you buy something from the restaurant in the market, you can ask for a wifi code that is valid for the entire day. Otherwise, the charge is $10 per day per device. I was never approached once by a sales rep in the lobby, so that wasn't a problem as some reviews have suggested. On the beach, however, everyone has something to sell. The hotel is not close to downtown, so a cab ride is required. Also, there are plenty of people trying to sell you things on the beach and that can get a bit tiring.
Our 'concierge' did the normal, take a 90 minute tour, get some free stuff. The 90 minutes was 4 hours. The free stuff was free anyway. When we didn't but at the end of the tour, two con artists drove us back and set us up for a free breakfast and free tickets to Rhythms of the Night and tour of a new place the next morning WITH NO SALES PITCH. I wouldn't go. My wife and daughter-in-law went. During the taxi ride they were assured NO SALES PITCH several times. When they arrived, they couldn't have breakfast or the free tickets unless they agreed to a "90 minute sales pitch". They left and had to pay for a taxi back. A wasted morning. The bad was so bad that I can't remember anything good about VDP.
