Comfy enough beds. Working elevators. It took forever to get our rooms ready. Early check in there is at 4p and we were placed in a different room other than our original around 530p. The AC was laughable. Water pressure was not unsurprising.
Very clean room and convienunt. the clubs were rude on more than one count. not real welcoming.
We met up with family (9 total with 3 rooms) in TC for an overtnighter and enjoyed our stay. The lobby area was plenty big for our group plus other large parties to gather together. We had stayed at this HI in August also. Our favorite place to stay while in TC. We had 2 queens this time and compared to the king we had last August this bed was not nearly as comfortable. I was telling everyone how nice their beds were before booking but was disappointed at how wobbly the frames were. I think they need a little updating. Our room also had a funny smell (like stale bodies) when we walked in so I got out my orange scented essential oils and that helped. Overall, the rooms were fine.
it looked like they just did a remodel, new bathrooms and a nice desk area to plug in a laptop. The location was excellent, across the street from a park on the lake and just a few minutes' drive from downtown. We went in the winter, the parking lot did not look like it was plowed at all, and they disabled the front door due to the cold, so we had to go around to the side doors. The bed felt like a springboard - every time one of us moved, the other one woke up and we both suffered sore backs during our stay. There was a terrible woman at the front desk who thought it was ok to treat guests like crap as long as she called them "honey"
Breakfast Lack of fridge
Breakfast was reasonably good but the facilities were cramped. Rooms were WAY TOO SMALL and lacked adequate heating/cooling. For the price I would find another place as this was adequate for the needs but certainly nothing fancy.
Quiet, comfortable even with sports teams staying. Staff was gracious and accommodating. Breakfast was just so- so. Staff needs to not talk about each other negatively around customers.
The place was nice. Only complaint is the elevators and bathrooms in lobby could be a little cleaner. Otherwise great staff, great place to stay. Nice location and wonderful breakfast, clean rooms. Nothing.
The Location was perfect. We didn't go to the beach but it is literally steps away. We were told that we'd have a 2PM check in time, we didn't get in our room until 2:30PM. The room was not clean; dirty wash cloth in the tub, dust on all woodwork, floors not cleaned. The TV didn't work when we got into our room and the maintenenace man said that is very normal; happens at least 15 times a day. He did fix the TV, but then when we came back at night, it wasn't working again; we didn't bother to have it 'fixed' again.
Clean rooms, nice accommodations, continental breakfast was better than any other I have experienced, staff was wonderful, great hotel location compared to beach and what not. No mini fridge. We were having a bachelor party weekend... how wasi supposed to keep my beer cold??+
The King bed was great, I also liked the desk and closet setup. The coffee bar setup in front of registration was really nice, I had a cup of hot chocolate when I got back from work, it made my night. The bathroom was a little small, the room as a whole was a little small for the king bed, so made it feel cramped, but honestly I got over that pretty quickly, nothing like stretching out on a king bed. I am not a hilton honors member, but I would have liked some sort of 'welcome gift', bottle of water and some sort of snack, namely because I prepaid my room. I didn't get a chance to scope out breakfast on Saturday, but on Sunday it was packed, I was hoping to grab a piece of fresh fruit, but there was none to be had, likely already eaten by the crowd in the breakfast area, so maybe more fresh fruits in the morning (grab and go apples/bananas/oranges).
We stayed here while we were in Traverse City celebrating our first wedding anniversary. The staff left us some wine, a box of chocolates and a very nice hand-written card for our anniversary. The staff was very friendly and the facilities were clean. The room we stayed in was very spacious with a view of the lake. The hotel is right across the street from a nice lakeside park, which we would have enjoyed if it was warmer, and is just a couple miles from downtown.
location and jacuzzi televisions are old, carpet feels grungy
Very comfortable and clean. Everyone was very friendly!
It was right down town Traverse City and we could walk anywhere we liked! The other really great thing is there piano bar up at the top of the hotel over looking the bay.....BEAUTIFUL!! Our room wasn't as clean as I like. Loud noise in the morning but the last time we stayed there it was great! No problems at all!
Nice place in the heart of Traverse City. Perfect Location to get around. The Hotel is well setup and has everything one needs for a perfect getaway.
The hotel staff were courtious and helpful. The hotel is convenient to dowtown shopping. No.
The location is excellent. There is plenty of parking. You may walk to all local venues. The rooms are small and dated.
Rooms were well furnished and clean. The pool and fitness area was great.
Beautiful wood lobby furnishings, close proximity and short walk to downtown shops, pubs...
Great breakfast and very friendly staff!
It was really nice and the jacuzzi was very relaxing. It was close to downtown, so very short drive to everything. Breakfast was fairly good with scrambled eggs and a make your own waffle stations. Staff was very quick to help clean tables and take care of empty plates. The bathroom had some pink in it, but we brought it up to the front disk and they cleaned it swiftly. We were glad that they were so quick. The only other complaint is that we're there on a hot week and the A/C couldn't keep up.
Clean, affordable, great breakfast and pet friendly.
Spacious room, clean, everything functioned well, staff very friendly. Nothing to complain about. Amazing value for the price they ask.
My only complaint was that the bathroom fan was so loud. I was going to request a different room, but was told the fans are all that loud. However, they offered to disconnect the fan for my stay and promptly did.. This totally solved the problem! I was quite pleased with the simple solution. Also, the breakfast buffet has improved since being bought by Country Inns & Suites.
Very clean room, helpful & friendly staff, and great breakfast!
helpful, friendly staff. Great breakfast & pool no rollaway beds available External hallway door did not lock, due to parts on back order Was locked out of my room several times, due to faulty door lock. Even maintenance couldn't get in with master key
My husband and I stayed here just one night. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, the breakfast wonderful. We could hear the door next to us in the other room creaking and the water running.
Location, cleanliness, cookies and excellent continental breakfast.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They helped us with late check in, they had a pack n' play waiting in our room upon arrival, and even made us extra bags for breakfast when we were late in the morning. There is a lot of room for a family and having an extra space for eating and a refrigerator was helpful.
Staff was friendly. Old, run down, looks remodeled from exterior but rooms are small, noisy and have that Febreeze type odor. Not a good value for the money.
The staff was so friendly. And the room was big and comfortable. I loved that they had hot breakfast and the hot tub was great.
Staff was very nice and always accommodating. Also the pool and spa was open until 1:00 AM.
Bed very comfortable. Great view from room. Club music could be heard through the floor. Could also hear people talking/ TV's in other rooms.
The facility was clean. The bar in the back was nice and the beach. The room had a refrigerator which was nice. The cable TV was better than most. Expected a bit nicer room since the cost was quite expensive. One night it was very noisy on our floor pretty much all night. It was difficult to walk to downtown even though it was close by as there were really no crosswalk or light in front of the hotel to cross the road.
The location was perfect right on the water and very close to downtown. The nightclub had a DJ and was a nice place to hang out. Everything was very nice however the view from our room was crummy which wasn't a huge deal.
Location and outdoor facilities. Whirlpool not easily accessible. Hard to get in and out of
The lobby was attractive and modern.Hotel has lovely lake views. Restaurant had good menu, typical gotcha prices and glacial service by a waitress who preferred talking to serving. Everyone ( party of 7) was happy with their food, but we did know our servers life history by meals end. Well, guess by the title of this review what was wrong. If you get room 230 you will be treated to whatever cooking smells are being vented from the kitchen right into your room! Bacon, French fries, chicken all smell good but not for hours on end! Our ONE request on Kayak was for a QUIET room and we received an email assuring us we were in a quiet section of the hotel. They did not mention that we were going to be surrounded by tournament hockey players screaming in the hall at 5:00 am and setting up slap shot nets in the hall.
Great location and nice amenities. Great food and beverage options.
cleanliness, friendly staff, quiet room, comfortable bed, breakfast area kept clean and well stocked difficult to find
The mattress in our room was amazing. We'd like to know the brand. The noon check out was nice. Elevator had an odd smell and carpet in there needs updated
Quiet and clean
We just got back from staying at the Cambria Suites, and we delighted with the updated decor and comfort of the hotel. We stayed two nights, loved the pool and hot tub. Had some noisy neighbors, but the management quickly relayed the message to quiet down and they did. Travel alot, certainly would recommend.
Super amenities all over the room. 1st class room feel. Real ceramic coffee cups instead of plastic. Unlimited free coffee in the am. Very fast responding service desk. Great pool and hot tub. Loved the lobby with the huge fireplace and 50 inch tv over it. Two hd lcd in the room. High def everything. Bed was a touch dissapointing. Only improvement I can thing of is to have some memory foam beds. Even the best pillow tops are no where near as comfortable. Would gladly stay again. And will plan on it.
Everything about this hotel is top notch. The decor and furnishings are upscale, stylish, expensive looking, and very comfortable All the comfort touches and amenities are special. The very reasonably priced breakfast buffet was superb. My husband had the best veggie omelet he's ever tasted, made to order- oooh and the bacon!!! The hotel's free shuttle service took us to and from one of the wonderful restaurants in Traverse City for a great dinner featuring locally caught fish. The staff was very warm, unpretentious and eager to please. It was perfect in every way!
I travel to Traverse City on business and normally stay at the Cambria. We have on occasion stayed at other hotels but I prefer to stay at the Cambria. It is always clean and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is very good. The front desk employees are very professional & accommodating. I would definately recommend this hotel to others.
This hotel decor is very modern, room was clean and large! Too many kids jumping around to enjoy the pool or hottub, so we did not enter. Breakfast was around 8 dollars and was very very good. I would def. stay here again. Close to almost everything driving distance, although they did offer us a free shuttle to downtown.
What a wonderful new addition to Traverse City! The hotel is clean and comfortable and the suites are the perfect size for a family visiting the area. The restaurant and coffee bar were nice. The breakfast was yummy, but a tad expensive.
This new hotel was clean and parking was accessible. Staff was friendly and helpful with quick check in and check out. Small but adequate fitness room and pool. Thought that breakfast was included but it
The staff was friendly and informative. The shuttle service was a GREAT plus. This was our second stay and we would definitely return when in the area.
It iw a wonderful hotel, very clean rooms and we are planning to stay in January for skiing.
I booked a room at Cambria Inn and Suites of Traverse City because I was in the middle of final exams for college and needed some peace and quiet. I checked in and asked to be put off in a corner where it would be the quietest. They did exactly that. I managed to complete an 8 page final paper as well as 2 other papers in the 14 hours I was there, had a great night's sleep, the food from the restaurant was amazing, and the service was fantastic. The hotel is only about 6 miles from my house, but I think my husband and I will go there for a night next time we want to get away!
Excellent facilities with a lot of family things to do. Every little things cost money. No free breakfast.
Family room was comfortable with older children. Room did NOT smell clean nor fresh and housekeeping single attempt did not fix the odor. Extra charge on stay was corrected and still does not make me eager to return.
The water area was not a big as some other locations, IE no wave pool, fewer slides, but enough for our kids who are 6 and 9, not to be bored during our two day stay. Upon arrival, the lineup to check in was ridiculously long with only three employees working the desk. Both the male and female locker rooms smelled terribly and we're absolutely filthy. Guest services, once they answered the phone, could not care less. Rooms were run down but the bed was comfy. The pillows felt like old bricks. Trying to reach front desk was like playing a shell game: unwound call, they would eventually answer, out me in hold, I would get frustrated, hang up, call back, and this went in for three different voices until I finally went to the front desk for help. Cleaning ladies were great!
Clean property, friendly staff. Good location. There were no negatives in this hotel that we could find.
A fine motel for the price, what you'd expect for the money
Absolutely nothing! Everything!
I was impressed at how nice and clean the room was for the price we paid! I was worried it was going to be a hole but I was pleasantly surprised! Pool and spa too which unfortunately we were unable to use. I would definitely stay here again and/or recommend family and friends to stay here. The tub only had two safety strips on the bottom. The other two were either worn off or missing somehow. It was a bit dangerous to take a shower with it being so slippery.
Tidy, smelled fine Crappy shower, small bathroom
Standard issue 2 star chain hotel. Clean, and only cost $35/night during the January (OFF season) when there are tons of rooms available at every single hotel in town. I was surprised at the low rate, but granted we were there on a winter weekend during a snowstorm. :) It's a bit of a drive to the downtown breweries and bars, but not too far.
It's clean...good for a night.
Very nice lady desk clerk No rooms away from parking lot, no fruit or hot entrees
The room was clean and spacious. Not a bad weekday price. Breakfast was sad. Cereal and bagels? Seriously? Matt at the front desk refused to allow my emotional support animal even though I had official medical paperwork. Told me to leave my small chihuahua at home because I don't "need" him. He said he could do a seeing eye dog but not my dog. He told me the owners would have his job. And told me that I could find another hotel. Are you aware that is a crime? You cannot refuse my service animal. It's against the law.
Awesome, friendly staff. Super clean rooms. Comfy beds. Good continental breakfast. Perfect location. Cheap price for an awesome hotel. I stay here everytime I come to TC
It was close to downtown. The room was clean. The lady who checked us in for our stay was incredibly rude. We gave her no reason to treat us like she did, but she had a bad attitude toward us and said some offensive things. Although everyone else I dealt with on the staff was fine and there was nothing wrong with the room, I will NEVER stay here again due to the way we were treated at check in. She even put a note that housekeeping had to check our room before we could get our deposit back because she assumed were were going to trash it. We got the full deposit back after the room was checked because we did not trash it because we are not Trash like that lady treated us like we were.
Clean, nice big shower, good supply of towels, decent sized rooms, good location, quiet setting. No soy milk for coffee.
Breakfast area could offer a lot more items than they have.
Stat here every time we are in Traverse, it's a great value for the money. Staff are super friendly, rooms and bathrooms are clean.
Location Not a good value for 150.00$ quite plane room111 the bathroom door had a big hole in it! No one in this type of business should neglect keeping rooms decent. I have no plans of staying there ever again. Nor suggest that others should either! Correct the problem or lower your rates!
Our room was so clean that I had no reservations about letting my little toddler touch til her heart's content! What a value and a gem for the money. I secretly don't want the secret out about this place. We will be back! A tad bit of road noise but not bad.
The front desk staff were very helpful and gave us advise about things to do in the area. It was very conveniently located to the "main strip" of Traverse City.
Good value. The place was clean. Some wear and tear here and there. But overall, clean and a good option if you're lust looking for an inexpensive place to sleep after spending the day out kayaking or golfing.
Price was reasonable and good location if passing through Traverse City. Our mattress was really "firm" so not very comfortable to our liking. Breakfast was all carbs, bread, waffles, toast, cereal.
Affordable, quiet and comfortable. Staff was friendly and the location is great for visiting downtown Traverse City.
Very clean! Nice staff. The pool was getting redone. We weren't notified this ahead of time so it was a really big bummer. Also the rooms could be updates a little bit (lamps, bedding).
It was Extremely clean and well cared for The address did not work in our gps we were told that is a common problem. We were disappointed to have a room facing the road and not the water
Very comfortable, pleasant staff and yummy cookies.
It's been a while since I had stayed in any Comfort Inn, so I'm not sure how this one compares to others. With that being said, however, the room here was impressive. From the comfortable bed, to the incredible amenities (e.g. an alarm clock that hooks up to an MP3 player, a 32'' flat screen HDTV w/ HD cable, desk lamp w/ a conveniently placed outlet on the base, etc.) this room was stacked. With WiFi, laundry facilities on site, an in room fridge and microwave, an ironing board, and a good size bathroom, you really can't ask for a whole lot more for an extended stay.
This Comfort Inn is very clean & nicely decorated. Their employees are cheerful and very helpful! Breakfast area nice with lots of great choices. The pool is open 24/7 and is quite inviting!
This was a very nice hotel. Staff was very helpful and great to deal with. Excellent free breakfast. Nice area.
Stayed one night.Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was fine. Bathroom was small but wasn't a problem.Beds are firm but we got a good nights sleep. Very good breakfast with great selection. We believe it was very nice for the price and would stay here again
Hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, the beds were great and every room has an awesome flat panel TV.
Newly refurbished, so everything's new and clean. Good breakfast and quiet room. The only thing I didn't like was that the sink was outside the bathroom - just my preference to have it in the bathroom. But that certainly wouldn't keep me from staying here again.
Very pleased with this newly refurbished Comfort Inn! Quality! The non-smoking venue was especially pleasing to us. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, knowledgeable about day trips, restaurants, shopping. The breakfast variety was well beyond the normal continental breakfasts offered elsewhere and the eating area is very comfortable.
Very convenient location with plenty of parking front or back. Helpful staff and knowledgeable about the city as well. Very quiet. The food at breakfast was nicely prepared, and although basically the same every day, there was always plenty and variety enough to p0lease any taste. Cleanliness was evident both in dining room and our room. Internet service available and easy to use. All-in-all, it was ideal for us to use as a home base and explore that lovely region of the country.
Nice clean room with refrigerator and microwave. Free wifi and parking. Convenient to downtown and both peninsulas. Very good free breakfast. Didn't try the pool but it looked nice.
We have always stayed at the Lodge and really like the staff and they use to have free movies. the owners were always on site. Found out that the past owners own the Traverse Bay inn and we will plan on staying there next time
The room was very comfortable and well appointed. Room service was good (something one can no longer take for granted) and the complimentary breakfast buffet was outstanding.
The room was modern.Breakfast was reasonable. Laundry was directly across from my door. Loud enough to hear from inside room. The place was kinda creepy on the outside. Elevator was old & a little scarey.
Location Breakfast was over crowded...wish shower was hotter and had a detachable sprayer...
Location Resort city, why would we do remodel in the summer? Only one lamp for light in complete room. Breakfast options very limited
Staff very friendly. The Hotel is....shall we say a spartan, lobby shabby, breakfast facilities small. I think it was overpriced for what we experienced. We had stayed at a renovated 50's motel in Petoskey MI for the same price and it was head an shoulders over Borders Inn.
Friendly staff My CPAP exterior filter was covered with dog hair in the morning. My allergy to mold was triggered by the room's lack of cleanliness. I could see mildew by the shower. Only people traveling with dogs should stay here.
Nothing!! I booked 2 rooms and they only had a reservation for one room. A very rude desk clerk told me that the hotel was booked and did a feeble attempt to find another hotel which was unsuccessful. I was on my own to find 2 rooms elsewhere.
Location small cramped room for two queen size beds and the heater was difficult to control.
Spacious room with good upkeep, comfortable king-sized bed, fantastic air conditioning, decent sound reduction, large wall-mounted flat-screen tv. Staff were very courteous, cleaning crew always announced themselves two times before entering a room. Three relatively minor complaints: Room smelt slightly musty on arrival (gone after five minutes of AC). Second, complimentary breakfast should have lasted 'til 11 instead of 10am. Last, All lamps tied to light switch near door; inconvenient.

Great location, fair prices. Hotel guests were 'partying' outside in the makeshift outdoor lounge area until late night underneath our window. The staff allowed it to go on. The front desk was notified but they did not diffuse the situation. Hotel itself is a bit outdated as well.
Location is right across the street from the lake & down the street from a pretty decent amusement center. It's also only a few miles from downtown. Room was extremely humid at all times. The fitted sheet slid off our mattress, revealing LOTS of stains. Expensive for the quality of the room, but it's in a busy location so the owner probably has no motivation to renovate / upgrade anytime soon.

Staff was friendly and efficient. View was fantastic. Rooms were very nice! Breakfast was of mediocre quality. Price was quite steep for a 3 star (it is an honest 3 star however!)
location They had some wedding guests and they were partying in hallway till 2 am. Complained to front desk 2-3 times, they didn't do anything. So noisy and annoying.
We had Avery spacious room with bed and couch. the view was of Beach and it was nicely decorated. Would have liked more fruit and containers of yogurt at breakfast.
Clean, large room. Nice bathroom and shower Our room was near a busy section of hallway it seems and was occasionally a bit noisy.
Price, and was recently remodeled so everything was in good condition. Two Pop machines and neither worked.
Our room was very clean. Running water from adjacent or overhead room was quite noisy.
It's deffinately better than most motel 6, or even some other hotels in the area !!!! no!
We liked the treatment received by people at the frontdesk The location
Room and common areas were clean and neat, microwave/mini-fridge and TV. Room not well lit. Window view was of the back of a run-down building just 5 feet away. Indoor pool was closed for maintenance but looked OK. No coffee in the room, no coffee in the lobby... no coffee?! Definitely no breakfast.
Good value for the money however there was multiple things wrong with our room. No alarm clock? Didn't even know there was a hotel with out one. Half the security lock was missing. The 'do not disturb' sign was missing. When we entered the room we couldn't figuire out how to turn the lights on. Turns out the lamp just had the bulbs missing. Seems the hotel lacks proper maintenance. I love the fact they have a survey on the night stand in the room, but no pens anywhere to be found. Still the room was clean, and good value.
Pool hrs, front desk help very friendly The fact that my new socks were filthy from the non carpet rooms, and when I returned to the building to return front desk keys and walk past our room that was now being occupied by 2 cleaners 1 male and 1 female. The female was talking mad trash about us because there were diapers in our bathroom garbage. Seriously, it's trash atleast we didn't leave them all over the place they were properly disposed of, if that affects the way you take out the trash maybe you should seek a different line of employment. Also so many people on WiFi we could not use it.. not a happy past customer..
The hotel was close to were we were planing on going and was pet friendly. Walls did not filter much sound and we were awoken may times throughout the night by other renters.
For under $70 bucks a night, I can't ask for anything more. Fresh soft bed, clean bathroom and free internet.
