Great rooms Staff very nice but didn't listen sometimes
What I really loved, getting away from the Chicago cold in the middle of February. It was SO relaxing. The staff who made it extra special were Ossiris, Billis, Juan, and Juan Carlos. There were activities every night, mostly delicious food, and the dance club is hot--for like an hour, but it's a really hot hour. The omelette at The Hispanola are great! Between the Bali beds and the beach huts, you can get your fill of sunshine relaxation time. Drinking whenever and wherever you want, but if we go back, it'll be in the late summer when it's less expensive. It rained a little bit almost everyday that we were there. Our room was one with a "garden view," so no view at all, but close to the beach. No free transportation into town. If there was even a cheap shuttle that would have been preferable. Cabs are expensive.
Good Facilities Quality of food
Beautiful, clean resort. Friendly, helpful staff. Our amazing butler named Francisco was the best! The restaurant by the beach had the best breakfast and lunch buffets. Adults only is the way to go for sure. We had an awesome swim up bar with a great bartender named Michael. Beach was beautiful and clean but every now and then solicitors would disturb you from your relaxation to try to sell to you. I was approached various times while trying to tan or nap on my lounge chair. Definitely tacky and disruptive. Resort should put a stop to this.

I loved the property, the room, the pool, the beach, the shows and the staff. I also like the privacy of the property and the beach. I liked that I was not bombarded with people selling or wanting to braid your hair, etc. which truly made it a very relaxing vacation for me. I would recommend this property to all! I didn't like the food that much. I thought the beef and pork were very tough at most places on the property. The only place that served tender pork was the Asian restaurant (ribs). I also wished that there was more spanish food offered. I did not like that I could not have avocado or maduros being in the Dominican Republic.
Gorgeous beaches and nice rooms. There are several restaurants all average quality but with a lot of variety. Overall food and beverage is average. The Bavaro beach is the nicest I have seen and the Platinum Club guests get very nice beach lounges underneath palm covers. The grounds of the resort are beautifully landscaped and have peacocks, flamingos, ducks, etc.... We enjoyed the outdoor private spa at the resort after booking a couples massage package. Spa prices are reasonable. The house wine is not good but you can pay extra to upgrade. There is very limited internet access so don't plan to check your email much. Like many large resorts guests reserve beach and pool chairs much of the day without using them, the hotel has a 30 minute policy but doesn't enforce it. This could be an issue when the hotel is crowded.
All services and meals were of outstanding quality. The suites are architectural masterpieces. The local wines are far from European standards.

Typical bait and switch. Apparently we were told that every single room near or walking distance to the beach was not available. This was the case even though i booked six months ago. They literally put us in the last building on the property. The LAST building. It was even past the reception (or before if your coming off the street). It was like almost next to the street. This is ridiculous. When i spoke to Arnaldo, whom i was told was the manager (yet i saw no identification) he could offer nothing to help. No solution. No discount. No hope. My mother (who has never been to punta cana) is very upset. The hotel expects us to wait 10-15 to take a train to the beach (which is a 10 minute train ride away). If he really was the manager, he didn't solve anything. I am so disappointed at this experience. We are paying over $1,200 USD for 2 nights and this is what we are getting for it. Please avoid this hotel at all cost. If they actually act on it after i post this i will let you all know. Electricity went out on my last day. Some drinks were not included (therefore this was not all inclusive).
many fun activities old facilities, need renovation
It reminded me of the melia caribe tropical hotel and resort, but cozier, hence easier to find family members when you pick a place for a wedding & not as costly. The wedding went well. I do not know if it was the actual hotel experience because I was touring the countryside 2 days prior to check-in, but 2 days into my hotel stay, I was invalid in my hotel room with a severe bout of diarrhea and fevers. Also, in the Family buffet, you get these scantily clad women at the only entrance / exit of the buffet haggling you for photos with them. Maybe this flies with the Europeans, but it's kind of embarrasing when you have a 3 year old.
From ever person we passed going/leaving D.R. we seemed to have the best experience at this resort compared to other all-inclusives. We were on our honeymoon and the first room we went to had some problems. After going to guest services (way too many times, unfortunately) they upgraded us to an amazing corner room. One thing we did not know was that you could pay with US dollars everywhere on the grounds and didn't need to exchange our money. We'd go there again, but would consider paying the extra money to be part of the elegance club. If it is your first time to an all inclusive there are plenty things they do NOT tell you upon arrival. Don't feel bad going to guest services with questions. It is their job to make you feel at home and satisfied with your visit. We went several times to be sure we got the room service we requested and paid for. They finally got it right our second day there and it was worth asking questions.
The people is excellent
The beach front area had plenty of seats and the beach itself was beautiful. Staff was friendly at all times. The food options were good and with a variety. They had day and night activities to offer so there was always something you could do if you chose. One of the pools was drained and out of use so the first two days we did not use the pool because the other pool was full which was really annoying. Dinner reservations to specific restaurants could only be made in person so it was an inconvenience to have to go to the front and worry about something that could be easier if you could call from your room. They have an unnecessary policy for beach towels that I have never experienced at another resort. It's like a trick because they know someone is bound to lose their towel card and incur $25. Wifi was spotty and unreliable at times.
Our stay at the Magestic Elegance was truly unforgettable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The service for Elegance Club members was amazing. We could not have enjoyed our honeymoon more!
The staff was first class. From the moment we arrived until we left, the hard working and polite employees were always there for us. The facilities were well maintained and very clean. There was ample space to find a place to sit. The lunches had mass produced cafeteria taste to them, filling but not very flavorful. (This was not the case at dinner, the sit down restaurants were amazing.)
This was for our honeymoon and it was extremely relaxing. We enjoyed everything from the room, the food and the location. However the staff really made us feel welcome more than anything. Evelyn was the sweetest lady and helped us with our Spanish which was really cool and made us want to come visit with her everyday. The whole crew was amazing as well. Just to name a few that went the extra mile were Yahaira, Alberto, Black Barbie, and Franchesca. They were excelente!! Also their were a couple guys that did a paddle board yoga session with us and they were hilarious and a lot of fun but unfortunately we forgot to write their names down so now I can't recall. Overall though we would definitely recommend this place it was an awesome experience. Spending the extra money for the exclusive membership is worth it as well because the place is rather large and it's nice having your own butler and desk to help you with booking reservations and excursions. Their was only one restaurant we weren't huge fans which was Sea & See but a lot of others liked it. Just wasn't for us I guess. We loved the food everywhere else though and the drinks were always coming and very delicious as well!
The staff was great and made the vacation enjoyable!! We especially enjoyed Dergis Doroteo who took extra good care of our large group. He was so much fun that our group of 20 went out of our way to go see him at least once a day. The staff puts in extremely long hours and how they can stay so happy is amazing. The food was hit or miss at many restuarants. Our group was large and some people had the exact same dish on separate nights and experienced great food to poor for that exact same dish.
Good shows Here in the United States most people get an average of 2 weeks off a year. Like many others I carefully plan my vacation and want to enjoy my precious time off from my normal hustle. I am a big fan of the Domincan Repulic with its beautiful beaches and great weather. I have stayed at some awesome Resorts including: Now Larimar, Melia, Barcelo Bavaro etc. Unfortuantley I can not say the same about Bahia. My fiance and I booked this trip to mainly meet with various wedding coordinators because we want to have our wedding in the Dominican Republic. We both have been married before and had 400+ person weddings so we figured if we do it at the DR we can keep it at 150 people. Just counting family and people we are 110% sure they will come we counted 110 definite people coming. So we decided to come to the DR and made an appointment with the Wedding coordinator for the day after we arrived to look at their packages, lucky for us we also made appointments with 5 other venues including a restaurant, a yacht and 3 other resorts. The top of our list was Bahia so we booked a room for two for this past weekend so we can get the full experience before we bring all of our friends and family over. The worst experience of any resort/hotel I have ever stayed at was this passed weekend at Bahia. And to be honest I am not exaggerating. I have stayed at maybe 10+ resorts in the Carribean before and this was the worst. It all began with the Check-in process which took an hour and 10 minutes. I guess I would understand the long wait if there was a huge line however there was no one in line when we got there. The gentlemen that was helping us was so distracted talking with other employees, trying to do multiple things at once, helping other guests that spoke fluent spanish (unlike us) that it took forever. To make matters worst he said he couldnt find our reservation (which eventually he found because he probably wasnt looking at the right place). Now lets talk about the first room they gave us. In the attached pictures you can see how awful our room was. When you go out on the balcony instead of seeing trees, the ocean or a courtyard we saw a huge pile of TRASH. Looks like a dump for the hotel. It was disgusting and smelled. How can you give anyone that room? Shame on you bahia! After complaining and complaining and complaining they finally gave us a "better room" close to the beach (Villa 9). This room was awful, the AC didnt work properly. The shower didnt work properly (the water would come from the top and the bottom thus causing minimal pressure). The tub would not drain water properly. The toilet would not flush and had to mainly be filled. I could keep on going but I think you get the point. At first we called guest services to get it fixed. They sent someone over while we were gone (we had to go meet with a wedding coordinator at a different resort) however nothing was fixed. We called again the next day with them saying they
The elevator was broken and they said it had been for almost 2 months, the jacuzzi button was broken, mini bar was never refilled unless we called.

Spa service was exceptional. Bars have a good selection of drinks, and the bartenders were friendly. The staff in general was very friendly and helpful. Bag delivery and delivery service could take a long time.
food was ok. the view in really good. the cleanliness of rooms are really poor. at night is very noisy even at the rooms. the room service is always late (after 2 or 3 hour after your request!!). Attention by the staff is really bad. It is not worth the 5000 to 600 per night at all. you can find several hotels all-inclusive in the area with much better service. I think they have sacrifice money by attention as they focus in large number of people. I felt like a code bar , there ins't personalize attention as you expect for that value.

Pay the extra cash and go to a decent hotel , had to move rooms ,room was filthy and outdated, bedding stained and unable to lock the door between the adjoining room that was occupied with guests that I was not travelling with nor are you able room door
I liked that the VIP section had their own private pool and members didn't have to make reservations. The food wasn't too good and got a few of us really sick.
Despite the problems with the room, the staff was very helpful. They had to switch my room twice. The first room smell like a smoking room . The second room had a real strong smell of mold. After going back and forth for 3 hours I finally got a nice room. The hotel was too far from the city of Punta Cana

the staff was nice enough my reservation didn't show up until the day after I checked in, so I had to pay for one nights room until the reservation showed up. spent the whole day trying to get the room situation straight the room I choose online was not what they gave me, I paid for a king I was put in 2 beds I would like my refund for the difference the food choices were not the best, the restaurants that you have to make reservations for were much better.
We liked the public spaces and the food. The bathroom in our room needed more attention and it had a small leak.
Food, pools, ocean view, landscape, layout, huge faculty you could stay there for weeks and have things to do Service! Took us 3 hours to check in after traveling 12 hours... Sent us to a back room to tell us they overbooked and were kicking us to another hotel.. If you travel alot you know theres always a room you just haveto fight for it. 80% of employers were straight up rude and service is poor, it just became funny and didnt let it ruin our vacation
shower cold water did not replace room coffee after first night in spite of phone call returned to room (left at 8:00am-returned at 2:00pm) not cleaned. Some more Staff could speak English very difficult to communicate

The Service Beautiful Resort
Everything outside the room. the food, the atmosphere, the entertainment and staff was absolutely excellent! Lack of quality control in the room. no coffee maker, lack of water pressure in bath tub, multiple failures with housekeeping (not leaving towels, not coming at all, taking my robes and not returning them), and room service was spotty with incorrect orders.
Loved the small intimate size of the resort. The staff is top notch and bent over backwards to please. Has an European feel and the food was good. Fusion restaurant experience was over the top. Wifi in lobby was spotty, not much to do at night. I felt pressured to tip. No real beach but lots of pools. We paid for ocean view and only saw a tiny peek of one. I would return and recommend it to everyone.
Great location, perfect to get away and not be bothered by crowds. The property is just big enough and everything is easily accessible. Everything is well run and organized. The food we found to be excellent. Find Carlos at the Castle bar for the best drinks on the property. The only issue we had was our A/C slowly dying throughout the course of the week. Someone came to "fix" it, but it wasn't really fixed. This made the last night there some what uncomfortable, but we were on our way out, so didn't really make a big deal of it.
Beautiful setting, great facility, cheerful and friendly staff who go above an beyond to make you feel welcomed and attend to your every need. They also were very sweet to our 4 y/o daughter. Food was decent and multiple restaurant options offer variety. The public beach just next to the resort is also beautiful and worth the short walk/golf cart ride (the hotel staff will give you a lift). Despite requests from the resort to not "reserve" chairs at the beach and pool, particularly selfish guests would put towels down on the well shaded chairs by the pool and beach before heading to breakfast. Often they would finally show up hours later. Many guests didn't bother to remove their wet towels when they left their chairs so it was difficult to tell which chairs were taken and open.
Most of the staff was great, particularly bar staff including Martin at the Love Bar. The room was nice and accurately reflected "ocean view." The pools were quite pleasant including the main pool with swim up bar. Food was very mediocre. More entertainment is needed as well if to compete with resorts in the other islands and even US resorts. They should have more air conditioning in their bars, lobby, typically sweat in these area from lack of it. Even in the restaurants the temperature could have been cooler.

The place is very secluded and is not currently near other resorts so it was very private and relaxing. The staff there is amazing! Everyone is so nice and eager to assist you in any way. I do recommend that you take plenty of Tip Money (apparently cash is preferred because that is the only sure way you'll know they got the tip. No guarantee by just adding charging it to the Room). You will definitely appreciate the amazing service. It was also Seaweed, and every day they cleared the shore of seaweed and would haul it away so that guests could enjoy the beach. This was a 5-Star relaxing Stay... Loved It! I didn't like that Wi-Fi was not included with, but at least there is an option.
