Front office staff kind enough to move us to a larger room and were helpful with other questions. Bed was comfortable. Very dingy hotel. Hallway carpets in need of replacement. Bathroom could use thorough cleaning - there was mold and mildew.
Location to the station and the new tram link to the airport. Good transport links also to the old town. The staff let us leave our bags in the store room all day til our departure for the airport. Looks to be smart as you cross over from the station but actually is quite tatty with dangerous crumbling tiles in the brreakfast room. We also didn't like that inter-communicating door to the next room which although locked you can hear everything. Our room door was open on our return from breakfast with all our valubles in sight and yet the cleaner was in another room.
Nearness to Station
location is great, right behind Lyon train station, can be accessed from the back door exit of train station. the room is quiet. i wish the luggage storage room can be more secured. it seemed that anyone could access it. i wish the hotel staff could monitor or have better control of luggage storage room. also, the room carpet looked quite old.
Location. Value for money. There was a small spider in the bathroom. The room didn't have a minibar.
proximity to lyon & station
The park of the hotel, the calm all over the hotel despite the fact that the hotel is just in front of the railway station.it was very clean and the staff very kindly.
Ideal for a rugby trip - hotel has everything needed for such a visit - good breakfast, comfortable room and helpful friendly staff. We thought that the Manageress was outstanding; hard working, highly efficient in every department, very communicative with guests, and being so stunningly attractive was an added bonus!
The location is very nice and room is clean and neatness。 Reception staff
very good in general
This is the worst hotel among hotels I experienced. Especially, service staff is totally mess. I could got just one towel even though we are couple.
Location is good; very close to the main transportation facities. Bathroom was very dirty. I didn't have the courage to touch the towels.
location... room was ok, staffs are good and responsive... the first room I checked in was not really a non-smoking room (smelled like someone just smoked there) they switched me to another room immediately...
being close to the train station Woman at the front desk wasn't very nice, toilet and bathroom could be cleaner.
nice staff good service expensive for the quality. we had to change rooms because of odor
The location is perfect. As it near all transportations & shopping center . The bed in the standard double room was too small for two persons.
They must put a curtain in the bathtop, it s very hard to take a shower when the water is spilling on the floor.
Excellent location Breakfeast good prize/performance ratio Kind staff Some renovation might become necessary soon, I.E. to remove some smell of cleasing agents and to avoid I.E. rain damage.
We booked Hotel Athena because we needed accommodation as close to the train station as possible. For this purpose the hotel was excellent. The staff were not friendly - we asked whether or not the lady knew of a good place to eat close by and she gave us no advice at all.
Location is good, right next to the Part Dieu railway station. Our room was quiet, a good base for a city break.
Good location near town center, with average price. Breakfast was good and evening staff was helpfull (we arrived late but helped for restaurant, provided iron table as needed...). It is an hotel more appropriate for business trips as not specialy charming and located in a business aera.
Good, polite service, room cleanliness, general freshness. Some cracks around the washbasin.
large space clean rooms
bathrooms need updating - they look old and worn out
The hotel room was massive with a huge bed for us. Comfortable and reliable, good location to many great restaurants across the river. Stayed an additional night and room charge was matched...:) Wifi was not working, room service was not of quality.
It was easy to find using our gps and the lobby area was beautiful. The room service was also acceptable. We were given a broken bed to sleep on and when we climbed into bed that evening were too tired to call for changes. When we reported it the next day, there was no compensation or any way to make up for this. Even tho' we put in our request for our car to be brought around and was told that it only took 15 minutes for it to happen, we had to wait for over 40 since there was some mix up. Generally, this was the only disappointment in our entire trip of staying in hotels in Europe.
Position in Lyon, pleasant room and staff
Daytime staff very efficient; nighttime crew not intelligent or helpful. Room in good condition except for the bathroom counter top. Location is very good - especially if one is in Lyon on business. Nighttime crew not intelligent or helpful. They had my room registered under my first name so visiting friends couldn't find me! Countertop in bathroom was disintegrating and basically disgusting. Shower excellent, however! Comfortable, large bed.
location. size of bedroom very old furniture and old bathroom
Nice room, excellent location Breakfast was expensive and coffee making facilities would have been good. Otherwise no complaints!
very close to the TGV station. Room was clean enough.
Convenience to trAIN station Was what we expected up front payment
Very large room, very quiet despite being so close to the station. Good sleep quality. Good breakfast. Shower did not work. Lifts did not work - luggage had to be hauled down four flights of stairs.
Restaurant was good. Location very convenient for rail. A good business oriented hotel. As tourists we found it had more facilities that we wanted and was also more expensive. Value for money nevertheless. Silly extra charge of E22 for television. Breakfast unreasonably expensive too.
Easy access from the rail station for short stopover
next to the Part Dieu station. lift was kaputt for 2 days, there was deep water cut on July 27 & 29, airconditioner was inefficient. perhaps filter was choked. For Euro 132 per night charge, this is unaccepteble.
Amazing soundproofing from the traffic outside, good A/C to compensate the necessity to keep the window closed. Convertible bed was surprisingly comfortable. Restaurant food was very nice. One of the most complicated to access parking area I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Took me several tries even when I had finally noticed where exactly it was. This thing needs to be explained better on the website!
Staff very friendly and helpful Breakfast very expensive for what you got.
The price was good, location was excellent, being so close to Gare Part Dieu (the train station). The room was actually pretty spacious for a single and the bathroom was nice. Everything seemed clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and spoke English, which was helpful, since my French is still pretty weak (i'm working on it!). The buffet breakfast for 9.50 Euro wasn't bad either -coffee, juices, milk, cereals, bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, fruits, mini-crepes, tortilla espanola,...I think i got by money's worth! Although the room was spacious there was very little furniture to put clothes away. there was some room to hang shirts and things up, but no drawers to put folded clothes. For the one night I was there it didn't matter because I did not want to unpack my things, but if I had been staying there for more than a couple of nights I would have been frustrated (and perhaps asked for a better room). There was no refrigerator in the room, which I didn't necessarily expect, but I also spent a few days the week before at a similarly priced hotel a few blocks away in Part Dieu, and that room had a little minifridge, which was a nice surprise. So, all I'm saying is, that for a few more Euros I maybe could have had a more comfortable experience elsewhere. But, I did save some money, so if you are on a short term trip and a small budget Ibis Lyon Part Dieu - Les Halles is actually a pretty good option, considering the low price - it just depends what 10-15 Euro/night saved is really worth to you.
One quick example: I booked and paid for Internet charges for 48 hours and it worked for 24 hours only - I had no chance to complain as I have left early in the morning before the arrival of the employees
Terrible - I paid the hotel reception cash for the 2 nights as per the amount on my booking.com confirmation. All good yet they then charged my credit card used during the booking for 1 night and then again for 2 nights. Apartment City did not inform me that they were going to do this despite having my contact details. I saw on my bank statement that the 1 night charge was refunded to my account though because my account is not in EURs (gbp), less had been credited to my account. I then had to chase them for the 2 nights that they had charged in error. They refunded my account though less 4 EURs. I then contacted Apartment City and they stated it was a "citytax" despite settling up cash as agreed with the reception. Loss and inconvience.
Helpful staff and ability to cook in room Very high single day Wifi. Hotel a bit isolated from restaurants, but local shop if want to buy something to cook in room
An appartement not very expensive, little kitchen to make food, clean. Location was not really bad (close to the central railwaystation), but there is 1km to the nearest bus stop that goes to city center witch is 4 km away from the appartement.
The staff and the elevator there was no hair dryer in the bathroom (in Dijon they have that)
convenience problem when we arrived no toaster or kettle bathroom light did not work stove not working properly - would not turn off
Everything was nice. Great service, good cafes and shops near the appartment, quiet yard. Close to the railway station and metro.
Great Service, Friendly Staff. None.
Good sized rooms, and clean. No bar facility.
It was very cheap. It clean and new. The kitchen was well equipped and the location was very central. It was too warm even when the wheather was not so hot in the street. 24h of noise due to an extractor in the room that could not be switched off due to security reasons. Staff stressed out and not in a good mood. We had to ask for toilet paper several times.
Minibar was out of order
Tea and coffee facilities could be provided in room. Room wasn't cleaned on Saturday.
Check in/out procedures were very fast. The smell of cigarettes smoke disturbed me a lot; we weren't able to have a decent sleep because of this, although we booked a non-smoking room.
Close to the train station and a shopping mall as well as the theatre, the Rhone and the city center, nice small backyard
Location was excellent for access to the suburbs where I was visiting friends and also for access to the shopping and centre. Very basic- no lock on the bathroom door, no kettle in room.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice room and good value for money over weekend. All was good
The room was quiet. The staff at the reception changed to often. There was no continuity in exchange of information. It is also difficult to orient oneself in the hotel, with the different buildings. The staff doesn't take the time to explain the directions properly. And the elevator to the garage is a joke. There should be an written explanation how to use or not use the elevator to the garage.
clean rooms and good location rooms were a bit small but bathroom ok.
the closeness to the shopping area of lyon, plus staff were willing to help no coffee or tea facilities in the room
Price of the hotel was reasonable. Close to market Halles.Close to station. Lighting in the room was very dim. Not enough to read. The corridors decoration needs updating. Cost of breakfasst at Euro14 is high. On check out was charged for a drink I did not have from the minibar. Although this charge was removed the receptionist phoned the maid and told me "She confirmed you had a cola". An awkward situation I did not like.
Very helpful and friendly staff who helped me resolve my problem when I had left a wallet in a previous hotel in Paris! Overall, the studio delivered what it said on the tin. No frills but everything one needed was supplied. Outlook over the road was noisy with the window open but there is an air conditioning system too. No electric kettle although the staff thought there should be one - but this is not unusual in France. Location is very good for the comprehensive urban transport system but too far from the centre of town not to have to use it to see the main sites.
Closeness to the Station Part-Dieu. Easy access to shopping mall. Many small restaurants and food shops in close vicinity.
Terrible hotel I think it must be closed ( it is not hotel) No attention , no staff during day and night . Rooms availble from 3 p.m check out 9 a.m Terrible , cold and ext
Simple and unostentatious service for normal money. All that is necessary for a normal life in hotel is. Especially pleases, that there is a kitchen and a refrigerator. It is possible for something to warm up. In bathing there is a bath, instead of a shower. It too is pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located at the main station of city. Beside all types of transport which are in city. The underground is convenient to go by suburban electric trains, the bus therefrom goes to the airport. The kitchen is equipped poorly enough. For something to prepare hardly it will be possible. It is desirable to expand a set of utensils and knifes. As that hot water after 24.00 is disconnected is unpleasant. Especially it irritates, if in hotel come back late. Also it is bad, that not work the code lock, and there is no opportunity to contact the personnel in after working hours in this case. If someone from lodgers from within will close a door on the lock, to open it outside there is no opportunity, even having all room keys and knowing all codes
The hotel was reasonable value for money by Lyon standards. Useful to have a kitchen. Location not bad - there were one or two reasonabvle bars and eateries within walking distance plus it was close to a metro station and a short metro ride to the old town. Room was well heated. This is a very functional hotel - the ambience is not particularly warm or welcoming. The room wasn't brilliantly clean. There was no plug in the bath so I had to have a shower rather than a bath, and even having a shower the hot water ran low after a while. Make sure you arrive when the reception is open (to 19:00 most weekdays), otherwise it may be a bit of a hassle to get your key.
staff was friendly lack of character, the place is in need for renovation and restoration. The room is very uncomfortable and we didnt want to spend any time in the hotel. Rather expensive for the price we have paid
Plenty of wardrobe space. Close to Part Dieu station. Poor range of TV channels. Lack of hot water in mornings.
location, self catering kitchen lights of the public corridor should be always bright.
The hotel was adequate enough, but was very disappointed to learn when we needed to stay for another night due to cancellation of flight because of industrial action we were charged 128 euros for one night
The location is great and it does offer off street parking at a reasonable rate A little small, a little noisy, a little uncomfortable basically a bit spartan
The room had all the things i needed to cook :) It was kind of strange that there is no reception service open on sunday.
Refrigerator in the room, some cooking facility, use of laundry. One hot plate shortened out electricity supply (notified).and toilet pan not firmly anchored to the floor (also notified). No room for food preparation.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Very clean, access to Internet, and quiet. Bus stop very close to hotel.
Very still, nice private houses and villas area with quite good destination for public transport. Good for relax after busines activities.
