Staff were most helpful, polite & courteous We weren't advised before the stay that works were being undertaken at the hotel, the hotel was enclosed in scaffolding, our room therefore had no views.
The hotel was clean and was quietly situated but convenient for restaurants, shops and golf. Nothing
Well placed and a very good hotel. The room we had was excellent Bathroom in the suite was not good. The bath was too narrow and shower door inadequate meaning that when using the shower it sprayed everywhere which made it a safety hazard. It would not stop me using the hotel again.
Good location with good parking. None
Everything, first class hotel. Staff helpful and friendly. Good location. Old world charm and character about the hotel building. Everything was excellent.
Go to beach
Beautiful old building that was unfortunately still under renovation. Many parts of the hotel were showing signs of age (the pool for example), but they were actually the mid-century additions or fixtures. I'm curious to see the hotel after the renovations are finished.
Location over looking both Biarritz La Phare Golf course and Biarritz coast. Clean and quiet swimming pool. Great service. 20 up hill walk back from centre of Biarritz. Cost of drinks - 9 Euros for 50cl Biere.
The room was spacious, well equiped and very comfortable.
Everything the service and room was excellant no
The location of the hotel is excellent, overlooking the beach and not too long a walk to restaurants. Pool area is excellent. Room very comfortable. Food and drinks in the hotel are very expensive.
Location and ocean-side views over-priced food and drinks
location rude waiter at dinner (didn't eat there again); no hair conditioner in bathroom
Overall the service was impeccable. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The quality and cleanliness of the rooms is second to none. I have stayed at this hotel before and will do again - I look forward to it. For some reason this time, the breakfast service was poor. The staff were 'distant' and seemed to be falling out amongst themselves. On one day, we didn't get our coffee for about 20 minutes and on another, the restaurant ran out of plates, so people were putting bread, cooked breakfast etc in a cereal bowl. There seemed to be no urgency, nor desire to provide a good service. This was a pity and contrary to every other service in the hotel.
The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and tastefully furnished. The pool area and spa were fantastic with wonderful views over the crashing waves. It is a wonderful beach location. We were led to believe from the web site that all rooms had sea views. This is totally wrong and you only get a sea view if you pay a premium price. We were disappoointed to be given a room at the side of the hotel immediately above the staff smoking area. This was our biggest complaint. Our other complaint was the cost of meals in the hotel. Breakfast was 28 euros each and we were not prepared to spend another 56 euros every day for breakfast, so we were reluctantly forced to go out for breakfast every day. Had breakfast been more realistically priced at say 15 to 20 euros per person then we would have had breakfast in the hotel.
It was a lovely 10 minute walk along promenade into town centre, a walk we enjoyed a couple of times a day! Also spa in hotel was really nice. Beds were huge and really comfortable. Had a great weekend in Biarritz!!
The location was superb right on the sea front . Rooms quite spacious with comfortable beds and bedding. The indoor and outdoor pools were heated with plenty of sunbeds
beds were comfortable Reception staff were good at check-in. Concierge staff make a very good effort waited 15 minutes for valet to get my car, while other guests were more important. during this time, one valet was loading another guests car, another was told by the reception to take bags to a room, although I had pointed out that I had been waiting for my car for a long time. food was extortionately expensive. breakfast quickly became boring. room service most expensive, and most limited I have ever come across. we once tried to have lunch at the hotel, but despite asking the restaurant hostess to point out to the staff that we had been at our table for a long time, with no service, we eventually just left, having not had our order taken, and run out of time in our schedule.
Easy access to the motorway network, friendly and helpful staff Nothing at all
Very friendly staff, free parking, free internet. Lack of rooms with a fridge and microwave.
Comfortable beds and bedding. Easy to find location. Client parking - even though your (or their) website description implies none available! Reliable hot water in an adequate bathroom/toilet. Ease of access to ground floor rooms.
Good staff, excellent quality campanile food, parking outside, close to station. A bit out of Biarittz for walking. Noisy main road but I did not really notice it
Everything, as always the Campanile standard is excellent. No
Location for airport Not very good value for money
Proximity to your excellent restaurent!
Staff helpful and efficient. At times there was a lack of hot and even warm water> I brought this to the attention of the manager who said the hotel did not have sufficient hot water capacity to cope with the number of people staying at the hotel.
Easy to find, convenient size for stopover with tea coffee making facilities and air con. Did not like the connecting door to another room. First time we have encountered this with your Hotel.
Clean room, Attentive staff, all spoke good English. Close to Autoroute
Position, position, position
Location was great. Staff were fine. Menu was very poor, no computer cubicle/business facilities unless you took your own computer. The hotel was well over priced , it was an adequate guest house at a hotel price. We enjoyed the stay - just too expensive. We saw other very adequate hotels at 80e a night less !
Location brilliant, staff great. Lovely decor too and wonderful view from the large window of the sea (would recommend booking sea view) Breakfast a bit expensive - cheaper to eat at one of the many cafes nearby
The location and cleanliness of the hotel was great, however I thought it was overpriced or at least to have breakfast included for the price..Good secure parking very closeby... The fact that breakfast was not included and that you have to pay for the internet service in your room...even the free wifi in the lobby was no good to me as it would not let me connect...
Great location, although the hotel needs a bit of sprucing up, especially the main floor / lobby, etc.
The hotel is pleasingly situated and provided you don't pay rack rates it is good value. Breakfast is much cheaper elsewhere.
Very average. Very basic breakfast for 15 Euro
For us the location of the hotel was brilliant, you can walk straight on to the beach and there were plently of places to eat nearby which were lovely and not too expensive. The hotel itself was clean and the room size was good slightly noisey outside the hotel on the street in the early hours of the morning but not a huge problem and the noise didnt last long
excellent location across from the beach, staff were excellent, i asked the receptionist if she could organise hiring a car for us for 2 days and she organised all.
Situation was nice, it was walking distance from the busy center. Beach and a lot of nice bars were close, also restaurants. Private car parking was very helpful and necessary. Staff was almost unpolite and breakfast wasn't value of 16 euros. There was a little bit stuffy atmosphere.
Locashion, stuff is very helpfull. For sure the brekfast is bad
The location was excellent as the hotel is situated in the middle of town and facing the beach and sea. The decor was very nice indeed and the staff were always helpful - nothing was too much trouble. We also ate in the restaurant and whilst expensive, both the food and service were outstanding. We would fully recommend this hotel. N/a
the view from my window the quality of the breakfast and the small area that it's served in, poor value for €20
friendly staff and contemporary style Lack of sun on balcony
Being on a pedestrian square, the hotel is very quiet and yet has a fine view of the Grand Plage. It is very well placed for shopping and for strolling along the sea front. The staff were very friendly and their English much better than my French!
Fabulous location, charming staff and delicious food. Wonderful view from our room and small terrace. Stylish decor throughout the hotel. Appalling weather! Obviously not the fault of the hotel, but there was little to do in torrential rain. Nowhere to buy English newspapers eve.
1. Clean rooms and magnificent view of the Grand Plage. 2. Helpful and friendly staff. 3. Central location. 1. No shower curtain when taking shower in the bathtub, water all over the floor!
The location of the hotel was superb, allowing one of us to surf and one of us to shop! The decor and ambience of the hotel and the friendliness and efficiency of the staff meant that we had one of the best experiences of a small hotel we have ever had. Parking.... Public underground Car Park (Bellevue) close by which the hotel uses but beware height restriction is 1.90m.
The staff at the hotel were delightful, although the room had not been thoroughly cleaned and a broken tv was not mended. As above
I liked the situation of the room and views were lovely. Staff did not bother me during the day and were helpful when I requested anything. I was not happy to be charged for breakfast which I did not take. The receptionist made a deduction for this but had I not checked the bill I would have been overcharged by 120€. Also Wifi was claimed to be free throughout the hotel but I wS charged 1.65€ per day for this.
Grand old hotel in wonderful position, maintaining its historically high standards. Some confusion about the two restaurants, which seem to share the same dining room but offer different menus.
Pool area , bar and restaurant are excellent. Our room was small and the bathroom was dated.
location and view from dining room place is showing its age, and its cost for rooms and meals are far too high. breakfast for 1 person was 50 euro, about $60 USD. the ocean view room i reserved from kayak was $550, and the only view of the water was from a side window; you had to right up next to the window to even see the water or beach. when i complained, they said that since you can see the water from the window, it qualifies as ocean view. we got misled from the check in girl as to when our room would be ready, and got fast double talk as to what happened. there also appears to be some wiggle room between what we learned about the room from kayak and what the hotel provided. kind of a bait and switch. we won't be back.
I liked my staying in the hotel. Good lacation.
Entrance to the Hotel was fabulous as were all the communal areas The room we were issued was in need of repair and re-decoration
Everything, the rooms are luxurious, the staff is professional and friendly, the building is beautiful. The best of European hospitality. And the food...glorious!!!
We had a wonderful stay here, The service in the hotel was very good, the welcome pack including a backpack was great, it would be a great example for other city break hotels. great location for beach, shopping and sightseeing. Will stay here again. The only complaint could have was the weather was poor for our stay, not that the hotel could be blamed for that!
My partner adn I stayed for one night in this hotel. Its location is fantastic - it is right in the middle the main shopping street! We had an Ocean view Room on the 8th floor and it really was worht the extra money - the view was gordeous both to sit and relax in teh evening and also waking up in the morning it was spectacular....The room was clean - a little small - but well designed and clever use of space & had a nice designer quality finish. No Complaints!!!
The location was excellent. No.
Great location, clean room and a good breakfast
Great location, helpful staff, comfortable room, good breakfast - all in all. a very good experience. Welcome bag a nice and original touch.
I liked the central location of the hotel and the inroom tea/coffee making facility was welcome. The room was too small aand the breakfast offered was expensive.
Price Not the cheeriest of staff but adequate
The location was good. Short walk to beach and shops and restaurants. Bedlinen was clean as were the towels. Our room was small and badly in need of decorating.right on main road very noisy at night.i do not think this hotel rates 2 stars. We will go back to biarritz but not to this hotel. The hotel needs a total makeover . dark and dingey.
There was an option of secure parking for an extra 9 euros per day, which was just opposite the hotel. The hotel has character, but it is old and requires some improvements. The breakfast buffet for 8.50 euros was poor. For a continental style meal, it lacked any meat or cheese. The orange juice was watery, the whole meal was a disaster.
Quick check-in with helpful staff. Rooms small and well worn. Bathroom adequate if small. Room had not been cleaned out properly and sheets were dirty. Hotel slightly further from town centre than we had expected.
Price Location - a bit too far away. Room needs decorating. Staff pretty miserable.
Close to city centre. Very expensive and I wouldn't recommend the hotel to my friends.
This is a casual place to stay. Walls are thin.
Lovely hotel, really enjoyed the stay. Great value
Cheap. Room did not had a toilet.
It's location. Cleaness. Good if you want just to sleep. Very basic. It needs to be somewhat reformed. The hair dryer was not eficient at all.
I loved the design, decor and comfort of the hotel and the rooms.- very pleasant on the eye. and the location - very close to good restaurants, shops, the sea. and bus stop. The heating system in the room and the heated radiator towel railing were brilliant as we were in Biarritz in extremely wet windy conditions. The weather but the hotel could do nothing about that. Some of the tourist sights were not open.
Location in the centre of the city, not so far from the ocean First of all: I booked a hotel at 21-00, came at 23-00. The hotel was closed despite the fact that it was stated that "reception - 24 hours" I had to call and wait for the manager 20 minutes! After that, he had long wished not to give the room, because "reservation has been made too late." This is unacceptable!
Whilst the rooms were quite small the furniture was well designed and the staff were really friendly - they gave us some really good recomendation for what to do and see. Breakfast was too expensive.
Very central location which suited us very well - handy to beach and restaurants. We liked the bedroom floors and the fact that the shower was walk-in, not in a bath. We were upgraded to a 'superior room' which was on the ground floor. The shallow sinks are the silliest design ever - stylish but silly. The staff were very friendly and helpful but unfortunately gave us wrong information about the bus to San Sebastian and we missed it!
The room was very nice indeed. Very modern and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As much as I liked the hotel room the only draw back was the lack of privacy for the bathroom (no door) which may sometimes be required!
Location was good, close to the city center. Did not like anything else. Small room, little light at night (impossible to read), uncomfortable beds, everything looks not clean. Hardly any outlets. terrible smell in the bathroom from old pipes. Bathroom tiny, old shower curtain. Toilet seat and cover will not stand vertically and keeps falling on you. Thin walls and doors, you can hear everything. Old carpets. No parking - street parking was all taken. Will not come back. It's amazing how the quality of hotels drops when you drive from Spain to France.
Just how short it is to the city center. The room was too small, nothing in it to make you velcome, no coffee or anything to fresh you up, and the cardigan for the window is just awful and too small for the window. And the brekfast is just horrible and much too expencive.
reasonably situated hotel with friendly staff the bathroom was extremely small
showers were too small
Friendly staff. They found us poles for our flags, and let us leave our luggage in a room after checking out. Close to the beach and the town centre. Good value. the rooms we were in for 2 adults were actually family rooms with a double bed in one room and 2 singles in the adjoining room with an open space (no door) separating the two areas! It took us a while (10 minutes) to find staff to check in. Whilst each adjoining room had a shower, there was just 1 toilet
location to beach was good a bit shabby, room was small, and fairly clean but corridors were smelly. TV did not work, no hairdryer. Quiet a steep walk to hotel so not suitable for those with walking difficulties
its location Hotel was noisy late at night.
Very Good Central Location Very Steep Hill to the hotel and no lift in the hotel only stairs
How central it was to the main part of the town and beaches and as a budget hotel it was excellent value for money. Warm and friendly reception when we arrived and provision of a local map. Bathroom smelt musty and damp and we had to keep the windows open 24/7 and the carpets are badly stained throughout. We were on top floor and there is no lift. Good exercise though!
Location fab. Room comfortable although bathroom very small. All in all good value for money and will probably stay again! Breakfast not worth the money. Cafes round the corner which had a good choice.
Friendly welome and assistance with information Slight odour of cooking food when we arrived early in teh morning
Excellent location for access to the town for eating and a short walk to the beaches, nice people, and a car park which is important in this location. reviews of hotels in Biarritz often mention road noise but we had no problem although it was september.
Excellent service and hospitality. English speaking hosts, authentic decor and very clean. Close to town centre and beach. Private parking.
It was comfortable and the breakfast served on the terrace was memorable. It seemed rather expensive given there was no bar or restaurant and services were minimal.
Location, friendly, cleanliness Breakfast, no tea making facilities
quiet convenient location, character of building, view from room very small shower room, only one chair in room, 66 steps up & no lift (we knew this in advance)
the room was large and spaciou, hotel was very central and the staff were friendly and helpfull. lack of tea-making facilities.
Great location for walking to both beaches. We had many bakeries and cafes to choose from for breakfast. Hotel owners are very helpful. Good value for the money and one of the only hotels we found that accommodated 2 adults and 1 child for a reasonable price. Flat screen tv in room was nice. We would stay here again and recommend this hotel. Walls are thin. Very basic bathroom (RV style).
very nice people and very situated the bathrooms were not finish and look very old . they should have done them as they refurfurbish the rooms
the staff only spoke French
The location is excellent as a jumping of point, given the proximity to Biaritz airport, and the local train station. This makes for easy trips throughout the Basque country, and beyond.
Food was good and well prepaired No airconditioning, noisy location
it was within easy distance of the airport very poor selection for breakfast and rooms very small
it was close to the highway and easy to find I specifically asked for a cot and there were a full extra bed in the room. It was too late in the night to switch. Also I think it is a bit overpriced for what it is.
Convenient. Located next to the airport
Locality Poorly furnished, and dark Room. No English speaking tv
too poor for too much money
The room was ground floor and we had direct outside access to walk our dog. No coffee maker.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. The room is big enough for staying for a couple of days for business. The hotel is next to the airport, so you will need a car to move.
