Bed & linens were very nice & comfortable. We appreciated they let us check in early after a long drive from the cruise ship in Whittier. Room was nicely decorated & everything worked fine. Location not the best. Walking by the BMW dealer towards the restaurant, a sales lady came out & told us to be careful - it was not a good part of town (crime)? Overall we thought it was too much $$ per night for 3 nights. No deals. The institutional toilet was a surprise, since the other amenities in our room were nice. Very loud noise when flushing. The restaurant staff - slow, maybe overwhelmed (understaffed) and incorrect' additions' on the breakfast bill. Sky high prices, too.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. We booked the 11th floor which is the club level, allowing access to a club room that has 24/7 complimentary coffee, sofa, bottled water and juices as well as light snacks. Also, every morning the lounge provided breakfast and every evening wine, beer and appetizers. We highly recommend spending the few extra dollars to stay in a club room!! The hotel does not have a pool and the spa is difficult to get information on as well as access to. Also, there is no valet parking.
Was locked out of my room with my 6 yr old in the hallway for over an hour .. Key cards had to be redone twice a day .. it got really aggravating after 5 days ..
lockaion no vending machines no tv guide
The staff was very friendly and our room was clean with a nice view. The hotel was located in a part of the city where it was easy to access many of the attractions we were interested in. Overall it is a lovely hotel. The hotel was a bit spendy and we were kind of disappointed that they didn't have an indoor pool. They also did not offer any form of free breakfast, and for the price of booking a night there, the breakfast we ordered wasn't the greatest quality.
It was cheap. No breakfast, very slow wifi, elevators antiquated, rooms small and not comfortable.
The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room, the breakfast buffet was incredible, the internal architecture and design was so modern and sleek, the bed was amazingly comfortable, and the hotel is located in an amazing area. I wish they had a swimming pool! :-)
Very clean room Mountain view No electric plugs on night stands Not enough plugs on desk stand No free WiFi - but knew that beforehand No free parking - but knew that beforehand Bed was too soft and sheet too starchy No vending machines on floor
We enjoyed our recent stay at The Sheraton. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated their pet policy and their welcoming attitude to our fur-child. We will be back!
Great hotel, staff were awesome!
Location Charged for parking and no room for parking staff did not communicate where to park. Heater would make large banging sound. Neighbors were loud.
Went for Valentine's day/night Check in was quick check out was quick Bed was very clean and comfy Not enough parking
Good customer service No vents in bathroom. Could be updated
The bath room design is a plus, since they put the water sink and shower room separately so people can do those things at the same time
Location The building smelled, needs a desperate renovation, bathroom was small, had to ask for soap every day, trash bags were not provided.
The hotel associates lacked customer service! The breakfast lines were horrible, and also bad hostess service. *also they need conditioner(shampoo). I would never stay there again.
The room is good and there is no infestation like other cheap anchorage downtown hotels. The staff is super rude and they should be fired. The price is not a good deal for just one night if you pay over $60/night your getting ripped off. The internet is super slow I got a fast internet speeds from a 3g connection on my cell phone. The breakfast is cold and nothing is cooked. Pretty lame hotel that doesn't offer good amenities. Would suggest getting a room at a different hotel that has a better staff, good breakfast, and fast internet.
Great central location Wifi is slow. Beds are uncomfortable.
within walking distance of downtown attractions needed some maintenance... bathroom light didn't always work sitting room tv didn't work, drippy faucet in bathroom
Location to downtown and bus lines. Was kind of busy the night I checked in so it took a while for phones to be answered. Only on person at desk.
Free breakfast and friendly staff! A little confused about check out time( itinerary said something different than hotel). Children in the room next to us were noisy
I love staying at Quality Inn Downtown. The staff was exceptional and made our stay worthwhile.
Nice beds and towels Moved to two different rooms. First room the refrigerator was missing. Second room, refrigerator did not work and our food spoiled. Then we went to the pool. Apparently the pool was "under construction" so it was closed indefinitely ...the refrigerator and the pool were the primary reasons we booked at this hotel.
Before we stayed at Anchorage Lofts Hotel we read a number of reviews that said the place was dirty, damaged and otherwise unpleasant. For this reason we payed pretty close attention while we were there and didn't notice any of these offenders. We stayed two nights, my boyfriend and I in one room and his father in another. After inspecting the rooms and other parts of the hotel we only determined that it was simply old. The bathrooms, linens, floors and furniture were all clean. The service was adequate... we had no complaints. I kept trying to find something "wrong" with the place after reading bad reviews but the only thing "wrong" was that it seemed very worn down. There were paint chips off of the walls in some places, the carpet had wrinkled up, and a lot of the hotel seemed like it had been through partial renovation. Everything was clean though, and everything worked in the rooms. I would say that if you're looking for a "fancy" place to stay, this doesn't quite make the cut, but for the price compared to the other hotels in the area it was definitely satisfactory.
location, location, location The rooms were clean and everything functioned well. The staff at the front desk was nice and professional. We also appreciated the free and tasty coffee at the front desk. Thanks! It appears that this was a motel that was turned into a hotel. It just seems run down and a bit weird. It just doesn't seem like a standard hotel you see these days. Overall though it was ok.
For the location, in close proximity to local bars and such its well worth the price. great live music in the hotel bar. One of my towels was kinda dingy, downstairs door from parking lot wouldn't open I had to walk around to another door. The neighborhood is pretty rough around there. Very limited parking.
Really great hotel that is central to exploring the historical areas of anchorage. The next block over is the statehood monument, city timeline, local history displays, giant carvings and statues, Alaska mint and photo ops. Also, shopping for local specialty items is all right there. Great breakfast!! Seemed mostly homemade, too. Long walk to room on super long hallway.
Great value!! The only coffee provided was decalf. The name on out front is for the bar/restaurant, not the hotel.. I think it needs just one strong name for the whole establishment rather than multiple names.
The bed was comfortable... Thats about all the pros for this hotel. Hallways were dark and barely lit, entire hotel smelled like mold or just downright disgusting to the point where my 2 year old daughter kept commenting on it. Room smelled just as bad even with the window left open the entire stay. I suggest you take your business elsewhere, the puffin Inn is cleaner, and cost about the same.
It was a decent place. I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but I was happy with my stay. There was some remodeling work going on but nothing that I was concerned about. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. A little disappointed the pool was under construction!
I enjoyed the downtown location near quite a few excellent places to eat. I did take a cab a few times to midtown and the University and the front desk was very helpful in arranging my cabs.
Good location. Comfortable. Although they tried to charge me twice which was very inconvenient because I'm still waiting on my refund to get back into my account. They had inexperienced front desk workers but issue was taken care of
Was really disappointed with our stay. Had to pay for parking, was issued a parking pass but wasn't guaranteed a parking spot. the staff was rude and not helpful at all. The floors were dirty enough to turn my feet black. We stayed for two nights and didn't have room service. I went to front deck and the guy said the only clean the room if you stay for a week. So I could only get clean towles if I went and got them from the front desk. Had high hopes but was won't be staying here again.
I liked the location, the rooms were fairly clean, it had a kitchen with cook top and dishes, and the kids liked the swimming pool. It was quiet. Parking is and additional $10/night but we were able to park on the street for free from 10pm to 8am. The breakfast was just a few items, such as fruit, packaged oatmeal, or packaged muffins. There wasn't any room service.
Not much of anything No parking, dirty linen, uncomfortable beds
Good location. The woman working the mornings was very helpful to correct mistakes made upon arrival. Free coffee. Hot tub was inaccessible. Loud guests during quiet hours. Broken key card readers.
Cozy. Old style. Noise of heater. Sounds like pounding on the windows,,Noise of heater. Sounds like pounding on the windows,
Cute and clean. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable! It had a great historic feel to it. Location was excellent. You could hear the people in the room above moving around, but it's a old hotel.
The only thing I didn't like was the train station is right next to the hotel.
I booked this place on the fly for a last minute business trip. The room was ~$92 and since I was only staying there for 11 hours, the price was right. The bed was comfortable. The locks on the doors worked. When I arrived at 9:30 pm, people were just sorta hanging out in the dimly lit parking lot. The car next to mine had interior lights on with no one inside. There was ~$60 in cash scattered around on the ground by the driver's door. I went inside and told the font desk attendant before she gave me my hotel key and she said she'd look into it. When I arrived at my room, I opened the door and found a pantless man laying in one of the beds. I apologized, walked downstairs and informed the front desk lady after she returned from the parking lot. crime scene. She apologized and asked if the pantless man was, "...at least good looking". I actually thought that was really funny- And this night was just getting stranger! She gave me another key and promised the room would be empty. On the elevator ride up, I got to hang out with two mildly drunk/drugged out early 20-somethings before arriving at my room. The bed was comfy but the heat didn't work. In an Alaskan hotel in October..the heat didn't work. Sigh...so I bundled up, enjoyed the comfy bed while the majority of my fellow hotel guests partied the night away. This is a weird place and if you're not up for that, stay far far away.
Free Airport pick-up. Close to Downtown and Train Station. Nice little restaurant attached. Awsome smoked salmon omelet.
The first room was not vacuumed and to small for the five of us. Fortunately the family didn't complain. We were only there for 12 hours and that was enough. It was just a pace to flop and to allow us to see downtown Anchorage. I should have paid the $70 more for the Hilton downtown. The woman at the front desk moved us immedistely to a larger room with a rollaway bed. She was very pleasant and helpful. She made our stay there bare able . Kudos to her.
The staff was really great! Dirty, dangerous location.
Great location to everything and a good pub attached to it Bathrooms need work
Location was great. Very close to all of the Fur Rondy activities. Staff not super friendly. Airport advertising said Ramada included free breakfast but it did not.
I DID NOT STAY. checked in, sketchy area of town and people hanging out in parking lot. No elevator, 3rd floor walk-up. Dirty room, paper thin walls and beeping smoke detector next door. I left after 30 minutes and went to a different hotel across town.
Price was the best in town on short notice. Water pressure in the shower wasn't great.
The room was awesome, it was quiet and private. The secured entrance was an added bonus. I would definitely stay here again. There are NO vending machines.
Room to small old bed blinds need to be replaced
Extremely comfortable suite with full kitchen, comfortable living room and bedroom. Right downtown near restaurants, shopping and local arts and business. It does not appear elegant from outside, but makes up for it in comfort and location. More than s
A one bedroom apartment with full kitchen. Very slow internet/wifi. Airplane traffic noise.
These are 1bdr apartments no a traditions hotel. Full kitchen, living room, bedroom. Lots of room for 2 people. Pretty central location, easy to get from there to anywhere in town you need to get to. This wasn't a problem for us but might be for others. There is a railroad track near by, so there are train noise and there is Merral Field close at hand so there are small air plane noise too.

Cleanliness, Spaciousness Parking tight. No local control for temp.
Nothing Hotel is terrible.
Nothing The room appeared not to have been vacuumed for some time as there was construction dust in all the corners. They charged me $200.00 for damage deposit, then credited it back at 7:00 am in the morning without even looking at the room. Ripoff big time.
