Great for kids
Rooms very outdated and smelled horrible..
Beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, very pleasant staff. During the days we were off sightseeing, and enjoyed relaxing in the whirlpools in the evening. Not enough staff around pool. Drunk "professionals" strip-teasing down to undies at pool (save it for Cancun, guys).
WE love the location and the views of the golf course. I disagree with your policy to charge for internet access. I need to do business when I travel and I resent having to pay $13 for each day of wireless. this is very business unfriendly. Motels give me free wireless, why not La Paloma?
It was very pleasant to see two luggage racks in the closet. The room was very large and well planned out. There were so many buildings for the rooms and they were poorly marked. They cover such a large area and it's easy to get lost finding your room. Good thing the rain had stopped when we returned from downtown Tucson in the late evening. A lot of walking is involved.
The property is beautiful, the staff was pleasant, helpful and efficient. N/A
The trash can around the pools were overflowing and the grounds around the hotel had trash that was not picked up!! For a resort that nice it was very disappointing to see!
Bed comfortable Could not get Anything from office to cook or eat with, as promised in advertising (kitchenette in rooms) Managed to get a small coffee pot and saucepan to heat water. Not sure where problem is (unhelpful staff or stingy hotel management) but it was like pulling teeth to get cooking tools, and then they would tell you they don't have it Plan on bringing everything (paper towels, cooking gear, dish soap etc if you want to stay here) For the price of the room I'd recommend to stay somewhere else
Staff was very nice and respectful. Building was dirty
The room was very clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Would stay again!
Loved the great big room, and that there were two sinks in the bathroom. The hotel accommodated our dog and put us in a lovely first floor room that lead right onto the walking path for easy access to the outdoors. Food was also great! We will definitely be back! The patio area could use some TLC.
The grounds were pretty with a lot of activities available like tennis, basketball, volleyball and swimming. There is a trail that goes around the resort that can be used for walking or jogging. The room was spacious and comfortable. Food was reasonably priced. Some of the buildings had a dated 80's look from the outside. There was a badly peeling sofa in our room.
One of the days of ny staying pool opened about 1 hour later than supposed.
very nice room, very close to airport
My room looked like in the picture (which it is not always guaranteed), and it was clean. Beds where really comfortable (one could adjust the hardness of each side of the bed). Swimming pool was also nice.
Near Airport, Nice Staff and Free Wifi. Restaurant provide local dishes.
Near airport and interstate; clean room; helpful desk clerk; medium prices; although think I could have done less expensive and got the same nice room and service at La Quinta. But this was on Booking.com so it was competitive. No complaints. I was looking for a clean and peaceful nightg stay near the airport and Interstate and that is what I got. It was very pleasant.
We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning. What a great value and a great way to start our day! The rooms were nice and the grounds were kept clean and neat. Our stay was wonderful!
What I liked was that if I had any questions the staff would do there best to help me out.
We loved the inclusive breakfast! We were all able to meet in the mornings to discuss our plans for the day without leaving the facility. The buffet had excellent choices! The staff kept it well stocked and clean! We also enjoyed the managers hour with complimentary drinks and popcorn. It was so much fun!!
ease of access to airport.....breakfast buffet.....good late dinner in bar....beautiful courtyard
It's overall a very nice hotel I didn't like how I purchased a double tree hotel at a different location (reid park), but was given this hotel as the purchased one
Very pleasant and accomodating staff, especially Hector and the matre 'd and the sweet greetor. Wonderful suites with beautiful inner fountain area. Very clean rooms with plenty of free parking. Steps away from the airport but you barely hear the planes at all. I would recommend this facility always. Thank you ~ Barbara and Michael Florentine The handicapped facilities are listed having 2 double beds. Not so. Only 1 double bed with a very uncomfortable sofa bed. Very dissapointed and painful on both. Also Mike and I were only booked for 2 nights not 3. An additional night to the handicapped room stay was the only addition. Never a cancellation of any kind. Even after Ashley with Booking.
When I book with you the price was $79.00 when I got to the hotel it was 99.31 price
Wasn't a lot to write about in the like column. Good location to the airport. I have stayed at several Country Inns and this facility was far below standard for the chain. There was a sign in the lobby that stated that they were going to be starting a renovation soon. Certainly needs it.
The room nice and clean, large enough for the family and our dog. The staff was super. Breakfast was really good. Nothing.
Break fast was great, staff was helpful The bathroom drain didn't work , had a drip all night
Breakfast was good and location to airport excellent Microwave didn't work unless fridge was unplugged. Beds were hard. Dirty window seals dead moth and flys in them. Ran out of hot water for my family to shower with.. Manager in the morning was rude. (Val)
Everyone was so nice and friendly
Room Staff attitude and service Location for the view Only nearby restaurants are owned by the hotel and are pricey
The facility was beyond beautiful. The only down fall was we visited on a busy holiday weekend and so with that being said the pool was over run by children that were unattended. The staff/security did not say anything as my 70yr old mother was being splashed by cups of cold water being brought back in cups by the 8 kids playing rough in the hot tub. We opted to leave the hotel for the majority of our time there due to the fact that we could not find any space that had not been over taken by these unattended children.
The facility With the exception of the Flying V restaurant the food was subpar. Waitstaff at pool were incompetent.
This is a very nice hotel, with a great location in the foothills. The service was excellent and facility was very well taken care of. The pool area could have been a bigger with more accommodations, as it filled up with no room for someone not getting down early and claiming spots. Not ideal for people wanting to be active then relax by the pool.
The facilities were beautiful. However, the cost was high to stay there. The trails, golf courses and restaurants were great. We enjoyed our stay. The family pool right outside the main building has no "closing time". Now, we were there during spring break; however, individuals including children were still out playing "very loudly" in the pool at 1:30 a.m. You received many complaints while we were there but it continued the entire time of our stay. That should be corrected. You should not be a major resort with pools that do not have closing hours and quiet time. Also, on our bill at checkout was a $25.00 charge plus $3.01 tax for everytime we charged to our room. This is ridiculous and was never disclosed to us when we checked in. I could have used my credit card and not been charged.
Staff was friendly and helpful at every turn.
Good location, staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was super soft, not good for my husband's bad back. Also the toilet/shower room was separate from the bedroom and had no sink (the sink was in the bedroom).
Great value for my dollar, nice happy hour, good hot breakfast and wonderful staff. Our night was quiet and relaxing. Wonderful location. dated furniture, but wonderful bed.
The air conditioning unit sounded like a semi's engine brake next to your ear all night.
The room was clean and inexpensive. Great deal.
Staff very friendly/breakfast and happy hour excellent.
Our room was right next to the maid's closet. Every morning at 8:30am we had a parade of maids outside our door talking loudly and making TONS of noise. It was so bad, it felt like they were actually in the room with us. I understand this is a specific issue with room location, but it shows a broader problem with training of staff to act appropriately in guest areas.
King bed was very comfortable Breakfast was good, but room was crowded
Friendly staff, good breakfast at cafe, clean room Door needs new seal-noisy from outside walking & luggage etc.
I have stayed here once before and loved it then too. The hotel staff were very friendly, the room was very clean and tried my best to keep it that way. The room had a kitchenette with a stove which was a nice feature and there was plenty of room. The breakfasts provided by the hotel were really good, and had attentative staff in the cafe, the food was neber out for long. The hotel is close to a couple of banks and a mall as well as some restaurants. They were also doing some renovations to some of the rooms which I thought would be inconvenient but they worked quickly and pretty quietly. I barely heard them and when I did I was walking out side.
The daily breakfast was very good. The room was spacious and clean the widow drapes took a while to figure out, they did not close all the way on the first night for privacy. Finally found the inside curtain.
The place was less than expected old and not up to date the room was ok at best The cleaning crew starts making noise real early the whole point to get a hotel is to sleep in for a while and not worry about noise so it is really lack of managment
The full breakfast was great There was loud music playing at the onsite restaurant that started at 7am and woke us up.
Lodge on the Desert was a quiet and clean place. Staff were kind and helpful.
I liked the balcony in my room, the extremely comfortable bed, and the huge shower. The hotel was an interesting layout and the grounds were beautiful. We had to check out very early and the staff made sure we were able to eat for breakfast. I didn't like that there was no way to book through the hotel to get the same rates (or even similar) to what was on Kayak/Hotels.com. I always like to book directly if possible, however the Kayak process worked perfectly.
I loved the rooms. They were big with fireplaces to keep you warm during the cold desert nights. The scenery was beautiful. I liked that they had little outdoor patios outside each room in the front. And the pool and restaurant areas were picturesque. Breakfast was also delicious and fairly quick. Server and hostess were very nice. I did not like that the cleaning staff was up and rolling around at 8am on Saturday morning. The paths they have through the lodge are all pebbly, so when the cleaning ladies (like 8-9 of them) rolled out past my.room in the morning at 8am on Saturday morning, they were so loud and clunking and had their cell phones going off. It was very rude and inconsiderate. I told one of the staff to tell the manager that I was unhappy with this and that it could really hurt their business if I wrote a review about it. We did not have this same problem the next morning on Sunday, thank goodness.
After spending 5 days in a very nice hotel in Scottsdale, We were apprehensive about the potential let down staying somewhere else. We were pleasantly surprised with The Lodge on the Desert. Spacious and very clean comfortable room. Pool could use a bit more attention though - wasn't bad. Nice space but keeping water cleaner would increase the overall experience. Restaurant was convenient, we only stopped in for breakfast. Food was good, wait staff friendly. Hotel location worked out well for our needs. We enjoyed our stay. Front desk clerk needs coaching on customer service. Just a couple issues with housekeeping, but staff was relatively quick to correct.
The room was nice...quaint...bed was comfy...and the pool was nice. It was a very cute, unique property. The made from scratch margaritas were delicious but the restaurant food was horrible. However, there were plenty of places nearby to eat.
Service and it was clean The hotel is older and I didn't care for the smell when we first walked in the room.
it is a very quiet place and i loved the interior courtyards. easy parking, great pillows, nice people. the key card de-activates if it comes anywhere near your cell phone or computer. i was told this would happen when i checked in. i was very careful and the card didn't work after i had it in my left hand and my phone in the other. and it isn't that fun to have to go all the way to the front desk to get it re-done. nor to have to think about it while your hands are full. such an easy fix for them! i hope they do it...i have never had that happen in all the hotels i have stayed at.
The first morning I was unable to turn on water for the shower. I informed the front desk and was told that it sticks and Iwould have to pull harder, and that someone would look at it. When getting ready to use the shower the next morning I was able to pull to turn it on but it took more effort than it should.
My room was very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was, as well. The front desk attendant I spoke to most (I believe her name was Lisa) was very friendly and eager to help. I was in Tucson for a sad occasion, not a fun vacation, and it was great that the hotel was so conveniently located--no extra stress about anything. The room had an unusual odor. Not a bad odor, not a dirty odor, but also not pleasant. It may have been a strong cleaning product that had no fragrance added. It only took a few minutes to get used to, but it was very noticeable every time I returned to the room--others noticed it, too, when they were only at the door. This is a VERY minor thing! Also minor, but a little more bothersome, for some reason my room was not cleaned one of the days I stayed. Really I only needed to have the dirty towels removed--I hadn't run out of clean towels, even--but I was surprised. The other days I stayed, the room was cleaned well. I'm sure it was a simple oversight.
Fast, Freindly service with profeshionals who pay attenchion to detail.
Cleanliness of room Simple, but comfortable room Good WiFi Train noise Lack of refrigerator
Excellent hotel. Very pet friendly. This is hotel choose your traveling pets. We stayed for several nights felt we and pets were welcomed. Would be nice all rooms included a mini fridge and microwave. It can get expensive eating out for days both those items come handy.
Rat droppings in bathroom floor, bathroom was not clean and man's underwear left from previous guest. Not enough lightening in parking area.
Location, Friendly staff, Michelle very courteous and professional, plenty of outlets Pillows were not comfortable, tissue bad quality
Location is good. Bed was rock hard.
Everything Vending machines staff clean great great value for the dough nothing
Internet sucked balls
Quiet, comfortable Not a "didn't like", but possibly having clear instructions as to use of the waffle iron would be helpful. Unfortunately someone thought the gravy mixture was to go on the waffle iron - not a good thing ! but these things happen........Good breakfast
Location Bed bugs
Very quiet and comfortable Parking sheets did not fit bed and kept coming off
I liked that after arriving a day late and forgetting to call to tell them, they are supposed to let the room go as a no show. But the lady worked with me and was able to get me my room back. The room is comfy and there are plenty of shopping/ restaurants around. The shower curtain need to be changed it smelt a bit mildewy
the breakfast and the room conditions were excellent I did not encounter any dislikes
Clean, spacious room. Nice pool and breakfast Had to wait for front desk staff every time we went there. The worse case was when we first arrived we waited 15 minutes for the desk clerk to finish a booking call. We were tired and just wanted to get the keys to the room we booked and paid for online. What we got was to hear the clerk describing the different rooms available and her trying to process several credit cards for the caller.
We paid for something of less value. We had a better deal with hotels.com than with I paid with kayak. It would be better if kayak inspect the hotels before listing it. Everything. The hotel was under reconstruction, yet its in business and very dirty in and out.
Clean room, comfortable bed and good value free breakfast was one of the worst
Absolutely nothing I arrived at about 10:00 am and confirmed a late check-in and was told I was good. When I arrived to check-in that night, I was told my reservation had been canceled, but not by me, and I could pay $190+ to get a room. Will never do business with la Quinta again. Luckily I had a friend in the area who could take me in for the night. Thanks a lot for absolutely nothing La Quinta!
I liked the location, and cleanliness of the room.
Fabulous hotel, very nice, clean, and comfortable. Great area of Tuscon. Good bang for your buck.
good value comfortable bed quiet easy access from airport
Shuttle service from airport Helpfulness / Friendliness of staff
Friendly staff, yummy continental breakfast, rooms block out any sounds and all around a great hotel. The lady working the continental breakfast was not very friendly. Seemed very irritated having to work around people. But the people working the front desk made up for the unpleasant employee.
Everything Nothing it was great
Wonderful staff. Clean and comfortable bed. None
we liked the beds, pillows, consistant room temp. and the food at the breakfast buffet. The staff were courteous and helpful. we have stayed there before because it is close to our family and we would stay there again. the sower curtain was too short and water went all over the floor when the shower was turned on. they need some nonskid strips on the bottom of the tub. It got pretty slippery when it was wet.
Pool horrible! Found a dead squirrel in it! Front desk never there! Never staying here again!
It was close to my destination and in an area where I felt safe traveling alone. Room was nice and staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was disgusting! The scrambled egg mix they used would have been ok, except that they undercooked them so that they were cold and when you put them on your plate, cold yellow mix ran everywhere. They had brown bananas and old wrinkly apples
Very clean, easily accessible, hot tub outside was very nice!
The bed was comfortable When I went to the front desk needing to speak, I stood there for about 5 min before anyone came out to the desk. There was no bell to ring.

Professional and helpful staff. No
We like everything about it from the very clean rooms to the early morning breakfast There was nothing we didnt like
The cleanliness of the room.. great breakfast and that it didn't look like the sheets were from the 90's. Pillows were great too Not enough lighting or mirrors
pretty much everything was good pool location

It was what I expected for Hampton Inns. Some of the staff were not at all friendly, especially at check in. Did not like the location.
Excellent value - clean comfortable friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast better than I expected for the price. clean comfortable friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast better than I expected for the price. Would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room.
Straight forward service, plenty of outlets in the room, the business center was perfect as I traveled light and didn't bring a computer with me. The staff was helpful. All in all it's a good home base for adventuring the city. I was surprised by the fact the building cut my cellphone coverage down to one bar, once outside I had full coverage again. Another oddity, it seemed the hot and cold water on both the faucet and shower were opposite of what was shown. Other than that I have no other complaints.
I liked the cleanliness and security of the building. The breakfast was good and offered from 6-10, so a really tired person could still get breakfast in the morning! Wifi was easily accessible. The shower had a curved curtain bar, so it was roomy, and the shower faucet was easy to use. Beds were comfortable, as were the pillows. The room temp was comfortable. Loved the afternoon-evening chocolate-chip cookies! There was no basket in the in-room coffee maker, and no hair dryer, and even when I reported them missing, they were not fixed. The clock face did not light at night, and was impossible to set or even turn on for radio. It was also not fixed when it reported it.
We were having a rough Christmas and needed to get out of the house. So we stayed here and the wonderful front desk associate actually upgraded us to a suite at no charge! I don't think she realizes how much brighter she made our holidays!
over all experience with the hotel, friendly staff and comfortable bed everything I experience at the hotel was positive
The room and bed were very comfortable. All the bathroom basics you expect in a nice hotel. Soaps an lotions smelled delighted, not to strong an odor. The staff was very attentive to my needs. Great to have free wifi. Breakfast room was so cold that my eggs were cold befor I got a chance to eat them. What little I ate was very tasty. A few " dings" in the room, but nothing to take away from me nice atmosphere
I would stay in this hotel again. Friendly staff, clean rooms,... The water in the poo was very dirty.
Pleasant surroundings, friendly staff, clean rooms
The hotel room is akin to a motel 6- down and dirty, not very clean, the heater was full of dust, the bathroom was gross. The guests were loud, guys who were drinking were sitting outside next to my room, talking until past midnight. I called the front desk, seems like all hosts are very young and not too experienced, to let them know. I don't think the hotel did anything about it.
Great buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. No meals (lunch or dinner) available on Saturdays or Sundays - the two days we stayed. We would've liked to have had dinner on the Saturday evening.
That it was close to where we wanted to go out at night. The fact that the restaurant/bar never seemed to be open and how thin the walls were.
our stay was decent, unfortunately, our next door neighbors were really, obnoxiously loud, until about 4 in the morning and we didn't get very much rest. i hope that security might patrol a little more in the future to make sure that all the guests are comfortable.
Quiet and safe. Food was really good for casual dining. Staff was friendly and helpful. A bit dated
The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful - we had arrived without luggage (that got lost at the airport), and they really helped us with toiletries and shopping tips! The location close to the street/highway is really convenient if you are just staying overnight on a journey through. The rooms are a bit old and worn, but still very ok for that price. There was some noise from the nearby street/highway and we could also hear the train.
The facility was well maintained and clean. The free breakfast was excellent with a great variety of items. The staff was very helpful and willing to be of assistance. We found the Riverpark Inn a nice quiet spot with a lot of amenities.
Tents to be used at a future event were everywhere. Created some confusion. Unsightly.
Very disappointed the pool area
breakfast was very good, staff was helpful and very prompt, value was great. Overall clean and quiet. minor things (torn carpet, some dirty areas)
Large room with fridge and microwave. Location was good, lots of restaurants nearby. Room smelled like mildew and mold. Some lights were out in parking area. Housekeeping staff was noisy in early morning when they came on duty.
Nice breakfast, nice pool, spa and courtyard area. Staff very friendly and attentive.
The room was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect as we were visiting family in the Catalina foothills. Standard free breakfast. Microwave and mini-refrigerator. Didn't use the small safe so I don't know if that was free. Just little things. Bathroom exhaust fan was broken (those things happen). Out of towels in the pool area. No available outlets on the wall with the desk (unplugged TV to plug in laptop). One of the waffle makers was sticking but the woman in charge said she was told to only spray it down once the first thing in the morning.
This hotel was so easy to get to and soooooo comfortable! The rooms were very clean and we were very impressed! The staff was super friendly and helpful with directions. Would recommend to all and we will stay again if we are in the area! Nothing, loved it!
The bed was comfortable. The TV wasn't working properly- mentioned it to front desk- no follow up.
Old dirty, dirty carpet, walls, needs remodel bad
Quick check in process Requested a great view when booking the room & received a room with a view of a tree outside.
romantic setting, isolated pool area on second floor, clean room, easy check in and out
The service at the breakfast on the executive level was very poor.
Staff and pricing was good There was blood all over the bed sheets and you could tell they had not been washed and the smoke detector was hanging by one wire from the ceiling
proximity to friends and shopping on good metro bus routes economic eateries nearby nice breakfast food almost marginal area checkout clerk not available at 6 am wakeup call did not work
The price was good, beds were clean Stained towel with obvious stain visible, didn't even try to fold it to the inside. My first room was already occupied by someone, the security gate wasn't functioning so just left open, I've lived in Costa Rica and stayed at some pretty low end Central American Hotels, and that's kind of what it felt like.
Old but kept clean. I would never stay there again. old TV everything old bad area.
