Central location difficult for car unloading in market street and small street lobby
perfect, with a first class concierge service
Proximity to The Rocks, Opera House, Botanical Gardens, Hyde Park, Railway Stations, Darling Harbour, Cafes, Supermarket. Excellent service from great staff!
We enjoyed Sidney for WYD 2008 No. It was very comfortable.
Very good, spacious bathrooms with a separate shower. Overall, hotels in Sydney are quite expensive.
Clan/tidy room Reception staff not particularly friendly
The location and the staff are about the only likeable characteristics of this hotel. I paid $249 for an Advantage room requsted 2 double beds only to be told on checkin that the room only had one double bed. I then had to pay $50 to upgrade to an Executive room (a better room apparently) I failed to see the value which also included free drinks at the bar from 5.30-7.30 and breakfast which was the worst I have experienced at any hotel.
room, the staff, and the location were all great nothing
Totally I evaluate this hotel better than Grace Hotel nearby. Hotel's dining, serving Indian dishes every night is bit tiresome for the guest staying 10 days like me.
Spacious room Delivery charges for room services
location was great, the room was beautiful, friendly staff
Excellent central location, walkable to harbour and train station and monorail close by. 14 dollar by train to airport
that we got up-graded and the buffet breakfast was so delicious
Air conditing not working properly - still not cool after asking for attendance to problem Also - had to ask to have room floor cleaned
The hotel was within a reasonably short walk to the harbor bridge, yet also within walking distance of other attractions (like Chinatown which was a great place to visit during the Chinese new year festivities). In particular, the staff was very helpful. The concierge made a great recommendation for a hole in the wall (Chat Thai) and one of the women at the front desk went out of her way to help me plan things to do over my 3 day stay. I really appreciate that they took the time for me. The room was also nice (but it was the most expensive room I booked during my stay in Australia). My recommendation is to do your research and most importantly book early. After I booked I saw room prices skyrocket as I got closer to my travel dates, but that might have been unusual due to it being the Chinese New Year, or maybe there was some other event that took up all the rooms. I wouldn't have been willing to pay as much the room went up to but ~$250 was doable. Flights into Sydney from abroad must all arrive in the early morning. Every day there seemed to be a number of people waiting in the lobby as their rooms weren't ready yet. I understand hotels can't check people in too early, but it would have been great had the hotel been able to get me in before lunch. Instead I found myself roaming the city by foot for a good while.
Location is good Staff was not very friendly
The food at the hotel is rather expensive....eat out, it's cheaper.
Its location to the event I was attending, would be a great flocation for tourists
Hotel staff were very helpful with any personal requests Everything came at a cost including the drinking water
Quiet, modern, good eating options, central, spacious bathroom
Amazing way to start the day with amazing breakfast buffet. Giovani is our favorite... Always helping and welcoming. A hard worker with excellent attention to detail The laundry staff needed prodding several times. There were never enough towels in our room and despite several kind notes to remind them, they were ignored. The dining room at dinner should be ignored, as staff was clueless for dinner... But that was transformed for breakfast, which was a highlight.
Good customer service. Slightly long check in time.
The courtesy of staff and its location The rooms are quite small and the drains in the showers don't work well
The spa was out of order for our last day
Gym and Executive floor accessorites Nothing
TV in the shower! Nothing
Quality hotel. Valet parking was efficient, rooms were as advertised i.e. clean, modern with a relaxing feel air-conditioning noisy when actually trying to fall asleep
Staff were helpful and friendly. The pool was well-maintained. It's a really convenient location to shopping and food. Nothing really
Outstanding and polite service; rooms were serviced as we indicated a desire with the appropriate "light" and excellent Executive lounge!
Hotel staff were very helpful and catered to all needs, the location is excellent for shopping & night clubs.... and the best was the Buffet Breakfast
It was my wife's 60th birthday and the little extra touches they did made the stay all the better. Great Hotel.
Great location, some staffs were very nice and helpful During my last day I called for Bell to pick up my belongings but I waited 15mins and no one turn up so I end up carried them down myself.
Bellmen were good, pillows Received worst room imagined. Low floor, dirty windows, bad views, receptionist lied about restaurant open at 10PM, Burger cost $30 plus tip, water in room was $10, room was expensive at about $300/night, no loyalty program with airlines except Qantas, shower was open with no door, no microwave, no real conveniences, small room.
Location, not too expensive for a 5 star, good restaurant and breakfast buffet. The sheets were too heavy I found, I struggled to get comfortable.
Simply everything. The hotel is a stones throw away from Circular Quay, and is in walking distance to the iconic Sydney Opera House. There are lots of awesome shopping venues all around; with food galore and convenience stores to choose from. There are several tours that have starting points only steps away; including ferry tours and dinner tours. I highly recommend the harbour view rooms. The view is breathtakingly beautiful. You really can't go wrong with this hotel. Absolutely nothing not to like.
Extra attention. They need to replace the little ottoman in the room with a 2nd chair. The king size pillows are too long and too heavy.
Room very clean and comfortable My second reception experience - arrived early and room not ready. Very helpful chap checked me in, checking photo ID and giving me spa key so I could freshen up after long flight. Promised a text when room ready and promised this would be within 2 hours. Returned from run to see if room ready having not received text in spite of two and a half hours having elapsed. Female receptionist insisting in seeing ID again which seemed utterly superfluous to requirements. When asked why I hadn't received a text she said that the "room has just this moment become ready". Amazing coincidence. ended up being late for an appointment because she was so reluctant to relinquish the key without me having to go and find my photo ID even though it was obvious I had already checked in and knew all the details.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great location, 10 minute walk to the opera house. You can see the harbour bridge from the hotel street. They have FREE money exchange (US dollar to AD dollar). Super convenient.
The front desk staff sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne to put room because we were celebrating our honeymoon. They even included a very nice personalive card, too!
Location, service and ammenities were great. Staff was very welcoming Facade could use an update but the inside is very nice
Beautiful room, comfortable bed, great fitness center. Location was exactly what I wanted and needed for a couple of days in Sydney...close to everything! Felt safe, and was treated wonderfully by all staff. I REALLY have an issue with the use of so many plastic water bottles. It is nice to have them in the room for many, I know...and to have them to carry around, as well. But...in the gym? C'mon. Use a filtered water system, or at least have one available so that when you run out of your own water, you can refill it without having to use yet another plastic water bottle. For the cost of the bottles and the disposal, reusable ones could probably be provided to every guest.
Ideal location for visiting Sydney sites and restaurants. Helpful staff.
the location is amazing. overall a great experience and would recommend it to friends and family! the bedrooms are beautiful the bathrooms could be bigger and more modern otherwise it was amazing.
friendliness, comfort,location price
Everything, especially the concierge service. I think the hotel should make wifi more easily available.
We really loved everything until our problem at the checkout. We had requested a car to the airport to be scheduled. We stopped at the luggage arrival desk the day before. It was written down but i think no one ever called the car service. There were 4 of us with large luggage so my son had to run down the ramp into the street to flag down 2 taxis..... The international terminal airport was VERY busy and we came close to arriving too late for our flight
The room was spotless and cleaners did a good job every day. All staff went "the extra bit" to make you welcome and were very helpful. Especially when my wife became ill and had to leave. My car was parked for 6 days and received a ding in the door which I didn't find untill I returned home.
The concierge was excellent. Gym is small
Room comfit and cleanliness. Proximity to tourist sights and transport.
the location to the city was peaceful ,clean the buffet was great the staff very pleasant and parking facilities I would like a better in room fridge although the ice bucket was great
The room was presented beautifully, and maintained during our stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly
Beautiful ambiance in historical building, great food and particulrly enjoyed breakfast.
The location is perfect. We did not have access to the upper terrace with a view.
The quality of the staff in the foyer lunch?coffee area. The room smelt a little of smoke. The ice was delivered to the room when we were out for the evening and had melted by the time we had returned - and wanted to use it.
Free upgrade at check in to a room with a harbor view None
Great wifi, attentive concierge, great staff all around. Nothing negative to say, really.
Convenient location, clean, modern There was a significant construction project blocking the front entrance and the street in front of the hotel during our stay.
Centrally located, spectacular water view, balcony for fresh air which is so rare for hotels these days. The poor positioning of the shower head and shelf must be a mistake. You need to stand flush against the wall to have a shower.
The beds need replacement. Two in my room had collapsed. The hotel engineer saidthe box spring was broken, so they offered to put us in another room. I checked and sure enough the mattress was broken there too. They moved us to a beautiful suite, but the floor in the room was too slippery for the wheels and the bed would slide out from the wall while resting, and slide away when standing. The hotel admitted that it knew it had the same problem in another room and ultimately they had to remove the frame to keep it stationary. They need to be more diligent in room inspection.
Staff very helpful No pool. No bath. Found an old shoe under the bed. Not so clean.
Clean, nice rooms , good facilities , great location
very neat and fairly large rooms. the park view is beautiful. initially we were in a 'park view' room which did not face the park at all. you have to crane your neck out of the window to see the park. this should not be sold as park view. staff were happy to move us to a front facing room with beautiful view.
Stayed at the Radisson for one night on our way inbound from Canada to Melbourne. Lovely hotel, in the heart of the CBD. Close to the Harbour and ferries, the Opera House, slight trek to Darling Harbour but very central. Rooms were clean, modern and spacious. Also, took advantage of the breakfast buffet before or flight the next morning which was quite good but pricey $25per. The porters were exceptional, always attentive and helpful with the baggage. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Only a couple of hiccups, we arrived in the morning and even though check in was at 3pm they said we could check in at 1130am. When we went to pick up our room keys they kept putting us off with “ready in 5 minutes” until noon. Just tell us noon, we would have gone for a walk. While we were waiting in the lounge for our room there was some construction going on in the restaurant, didn’t make for the best of atmospheres.
Proximity to Central Quay Bland decor
We asked to hotel concierge for the morning call at 5:30am, but we did not get any phone call from the hotel concierge. Ii is indeed disaponted. I hardly miss the international fight.
bed is old, sags in middle. Room is old, needs a refurb. "Atrium" means no view at all.
We had originally rented an apartment in Sydney. However, due to construction at night, we had to relocate. We found a great rate at the Raddisson Blu and booked it. We enjoyed the last few nights of our vacation in a beautiful and comfortable room. The hotel staff was very helpful and the hotel was spotless. We would definitely stay there again!
The staff were fantastic - very friendly without being stuffy from frontline to cleaning staff. Great location - right between central shopping & circular quay.
Lovely room and great location. Upgraded, but that cost $60 per night. Nothing really, although room service meal was fairly ordinary.
friendly and helpful staff, good location
Service was excellent, staff very pleasant and helpful. Food was first class and reasonably priced. Nothing
The staff were very courteous.
CLOSE PROXIMITY TO ALL MAIN ATTRACTIONS.
Convenient location to city attractions. Breakfast prices were way too high. I paid $158 U.S. dollars and the breakfast prices were $18 to $26 US dollars. Overall I enjoyed my stay as the room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
Location and service was stellar
Very clean and excellent service Nothing
Location, service, cleanliness Nothing
Clean, secure, excellent location and fantastic amenities. This hotel has it all! Rooms are in the process of being redesigned, we were woken up shortly after 8am on both mornings of our stay from hammering and drilling taking place on our floor or directly above. We certainly expected that we wouldn't have issues in sleeping in at such a high-end hotel.
Was easy to walk to the sights in the area - Opera House, Sydney Bridge, the Harbor, places to eat "City view" really means a view of another bldg.
Fabulous location Amazing staff Unbelievably GREAT views Close to everything including public transportation Rooms not cleaned every day
This was a great location in Sydney....easy check in, great staff. We had access to the Concierge Lounge which was honestly one of the nicest of any Marriott Hotel I have stayed in. The gym was excellent and quite large. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Location was great; central to both business and the local sites. Great restaurants close by. The housekeeping staff was also exceptional; you barely heard them in the morning when they started their cleaning. No loud talking in the hallways. If I had to be picky, it would have been nice, esp in such a hot climate, to have at least two bottle of waters offered without cost.
Right in the heart of Circular Quay. Walking distance to Opera House and plenty of restaurants. It was under construction while we were there. Was not made aware of the extent of the construction. Elevators were slow and aggravating. Was there a week and never got to know any of the staff.
Location Restaurant hours, elevators, concierge
Location of hotel Hotel was overpriced. Hidden charges for using credit card. Would not chose this hotel again.
I loved everything from the location of the hotel to the luxurious rooms and the beautiful architecture! The service was excellent! Nothing.
The hotel is a a great facility and in the middle of downtown Prices in all of Sydyn are extremely high. Parking was outrageous
The location is great. The hotel is close to everything from shops, supermarket, office, parks, restaurants. The room is spacious and the bed was very comfy. Two towels of 4 were badly washed. They still have some stain in them. Breakfast could use more variety for the price they are charging. Some staffs at the conscious were not friendly.
Wonderful room Nothing
the friendliness of the staff
Sumptous, extremely helpful and friendly staff, fabulous location, great food, relaxing bar, everyone so kind and genuine, comfortable bed Yes - did not like leaving!
All the staff were very professional and helpful. I had overpacked so needed to send home some items. They found a suitable box for me straight away (within 15 mintues) and brought it up to my room. They were also efficient in organising transport.
Excellent location, staff and facilities. None
The hotel is ideally situated for visiting tourist attractions such as Circular Quay, the Rocks, the Bridge and the Opera House. Across the road from the hotel are the Botanical Gardens. This is a 5 star hotel and the interior and service reflects this, I did not eat at the hotel so am not sure whether meals are value for money, there are many restaurants and cafes close at hand to suit most budgets. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped, tea and coffee and fresh milk were replaced each day at no extra charge. Overall a very enjoyable stay. The only critisicism I had was that like most hotels the beds were rather hard.
We thought it was terrific, great location, loved The Bar and staff We had issues with the staff cleaning our room who missed things and cosnsistently forgot to leave thinks lioke breakfast menus
The building is beautiful!!! Arranging a 12pm checkout to only be called at 1120am and asked what time we were leaving?!
Large, well appointed rooms and bathrooms. Excellent staff, very responsive to your needs. Beautiful facility that was a comfort to return to after spending the day seeing the sights around Sydney. This hotel is in a perfect location, close to the opera house and ferries yet far enough away to be in a tranquil setting, across the street from the park. If we ever return to Sydney we wouldn't consider staying any place else. There was nothing not to like!
I liked the spacious, comfortable room size, the cozy atmosphere, the location of the hotel which makes it easy to explore Sydney's most famous attractions and the helpful and fast service at the reception/concierge desk. The service during breakfast was a bit slow, e.g getting coffee, refilling the buffet took very long.
Rooms were very nice as were they lobby and bar You need better wifi access and it should be considered a basic service that you provide
The location, the luxurious setting, drinks at the lounge and the most comfortable bed ever - what's not to like?!
things were acceptable for what i needed, there was nothing there that made me happy i stayed there rather than some place else. for a "5 star" hotel it was missing quite a bit. no spa, no pool, restuarants were really just bars with some tables. the staff was a bit snooty. everything in the room and hotel are for sale, and pretty much makes you feel like you are sleeping in an ikea catalog.
Bed was comfortable. A/C in good working order. Nice size bathroom. Appreciated the toiletries, the fridge, the safe. Excellent lighting both in room and bathroom. It was a bit disconcerting to find hairs in the tub after the room was cleaned.. The desk chair could use refurbishing.
There were loud noises in the morning from the room above and when I called the front desk on multiple occasions I couldn't get an answer, then received a rude explanation that it would be investigated but the noise contributed. After a $2,000 stay, I left a file and was charged to have it mailed to me. I wouldn't recommend the hotel for ease of stay, but it is clean.
I liked the central location of the hotel and the staff were friendly and warm. I found it rather surprising that internet was not complimentary as it is a 5-star hotel. The last time I visited Sydney I stayed at Raddison's which I believe is a 4-star hotel and found the stay there on par with Sofitel, a 5-star hotel.
Very friendly staff, ideal position, excellent facilities. Enjoyed stay immensly and the staff could not have been more helpful.
Hotel lobby! Terrible breakfast! no restuarant in the hotel! no swimming pool!
The location was excellent. Very close to all the tourist attractions and to the cities history.Service was good.
This hotel was comfortable and elegant. Staying over new years they gave us free champagne. However parking was overpriced for what we paid for the hotel.
First class ,5 star rate but better Location on Phillip St. within easy walking distance to all attractions - shopping to sightseeing this hotel must be in the top 5 quality hotel in Sydney. No
Easy and friendly check in. Comfortable rooms and beds. On checking out we asked if we could leave the car in their car park for a few more hours whilst we went for brunch and shopped and this was not a problem which I was very impressed with.
The location offered a good balance between access to city centre shopping and to beaches and beyond via transport hubs
I enjoyed all that was offered ,I loved the view from our suite and the design and luxury of the rooms.
I loved the extra space of having a living room to unwind in after a long day of sightseeing. The kitchen and dining table was a great option when we didn't have time for a cafe breakfast. I loved having a nespresso machine in the room with daily refills. The room was clean and modern. Service was great. The location is hard to beat. Right in the middle of tons of coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping. Darling Harbor and Chinatown are just 4-5 minute walk. Town Hall subway station is just around the corner. Two grocery stores are very close by if you want to stock up on things. The gym is great and quite extensive. There is a nice pool and sauna, although the hot tub was only like warm temperature. Overall me and my two boys ( 9 and 11) had a great time fornthe week we were in Sydney.
Very nice facilities, nice location Very high charge for internet access ($25 day). There's no need for this kind of gouge at a facility like this.
The staff were nice Room wasn't as nice as the pictures on the website! The design wasn't very welcoming or comfortable, the view wasn't nice either.
Location. Friendly Staff. Apartment design & View.
The fact it was self contained with everything you would need and came with all the things i was looking in a hotel for the weekend which other's did not offer. Did not like the bed, was too soft and often too warm with two people sleeping in the bed together.
It was a beautiful and a lovely room and wonderful staff. I lovedmit all
It was close proximity for shopping and where we chose to dine. We thought the views were going to be better.
Very comfortable room, great facilities and friendly helpfull staff, great location.
location convenient--high quality bedding and bath
This hotel is conveniently located near a lot of the tourist activities in Darling Harbour. Room was in good shape.
Room with Darlington Harbour view and closeness to restaurants and activities. - extra 2% charge imposed on the bill when paying by credit cart. - traffic noise in the early morning at Room on the 5th floor facing the highway.
Close to main attractions. Staff very knowledgeable and polite. No microwave.
I was very pleased with the Park Royal Darling Harbour. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The location is excellent, a very short walk to Darling Harbour itself harbor and a walkable distance from many of the city's attractions, including Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, the Botanical Gardens and the Rugby Stadium. It's also just three blocks from bus and rail transportation. The breakfast buffet was very good and based on the length of my stay, I even got free internet access. I would definitely stay there again.
Excellent location in central business district directly across the street from Darling Harbor, but otherwise an average hotel in all respects. Rooms are clean but plain. Service is friendly. Health club is tiny, but has the basics. Price, relative to other hotels in this area is reasonable. This is a good hotel for any budget-minded traveler. It is conveniently located 3 blocks east of the Town Hall subway station which provides easy access around the city and to/from the airport.

We recently stayed at The Crowne Plaza in Sydney, Australia. We found it to be very clean and a great location for Darling Harbour. We usually ate at dining room for breakfast which served delicious fruits and a good variety of juices and pastries. The only problem we had was the rooms were cleaned slowly and we had to wait to see if ours had been cleaned yet. They said that they had been extremely busy. Otherwise it was a great place to stay!
Room and Hotel were good, however the main view was to an overpass. The hotel does not have harbor views
My husband and I booked the Crowne Plaza in Darling Harbour for two nights. When we arrived after our evening flight from Tasmania the receptionist told us that they were overbooked and we don't have a room. That he proceeded to start searching for a room for us in other hotels. Eventually ( twenty-thirty minutes later) we were told that we can go to Rydges ( the night manager told us that is was a nice five star hotel and it was not!) and we had to switch hotels again next day. At least we got some taxi vouchers for all the hassle between the hotels. The night manager promised that we will be taken care of when we come back to Crowne Plaza the next day but I really did not notice anything different in the room than the any other Crowne Plaza room in any other city in any other country. The check out process was easy and seamless.
We booked online and this was our first trip to Sydney, so we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a great location with an easy walk to Darling Harbour, and also the Town Hall train station. The staff was friendly, and helped us get checked in early (our flight arrived at 7:00 am). Overall it was a great experience. The breakfast food was a little different than what we are used to in the States, but overall it was good and they had the option to have items cooked to order in the restaurant. We would recommend the Parkroyal.
