We stayed in Unit 8, upstairs, with a balcony overlooking Poverty Bay and the boardwalk. Considering that this town is where New Zealand's history began (at least to some), the town is surprisingly quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed walking the boardwalk and relaxing after the hairpin turns of Hy. 2 (from Okotiki to Gisborne). The unit had everything we could hope to have.... a small kitchen, a wonderful shower, a separate living and bedroom. It is a simple hotel, but clean and well-appointed. The interior feels a bit like a very nice suite on a cruise ship. Room Tip: Second floor rooms provide a better view and a private balcony. First floor is perfect for families... The interior lighting could be better (a dimmer or a lamp with a shade).
I liked the location and the nice quiet setting. The owners were very freindly and helpful which made the stay very enjoyable.
I liked how it was very private and just the fact that it was a great room at a great price also the jacuzzi was a wonderful extra. Everything was perfect right up to late night tv. My wife loved the make up remover tissue:) Nah it was perfect.
Friendliness The Put-U-Up made an uncompfortable settee
Close to city centre, very well equiped units Every thing was great
Business trip. Organising a course for arborists. Nothing at all negative to say
The decor and layout of the unit was very good and the fine touches such as the towels arranged with the rosebuds highlighting them was pleasant. The TV channels were easy to follow and using the internet was simple. Instructions were posted in a neat way.
reasonable but just
Plenty of space in the unit, full cooking facilities Internet access advertised, but only available in certain units.
Good price & location for our purposes. Clean & well presented Only negative was cleanliness of glasses but would put this down to policy of having clients do their own dishes as part of eco friendly approach. I think while commendable it makes it hard to guarantee standards.
Surpassed our expectations. Whilst out of the central area, for those with a car not as problem and beneficial. Only a short drive to the main shopping area. Really liked the family room arrangement and facilities (much better than other 4* accomodation that we stayed in throughout NZ). Also something that was great was a games room for the children and the free wireless internet - a rip off in other motels in NZ. In all honesty no - very impressed. We wouldnt hesitate to stay at the Tudor Park Motel again.
