Chic capsule is an awesome stay. Desmond is the host with the most. He or his twin brother Devon are always at the desk. He is more than willing to go out of his way for you and help you in anyway possible. He is a virtual plethora of information about Singapore. The location is great. Just next to Chinatown but nice and relaxed. I would recommend it to anyone Sometimes there are other guests that have no respect for the hostel environment. Very noisy people! I wish the lobby was more than a stretched out hallway.
I mean, does he ever sleep? He is passing out goodnight mints at night, and whipping up breakfast in the morning. And everything in between! Great hostel. Older crowd. Perhaps due to the price point No external windows in the room, so it's always like a cave. Some people may prefer this. I prefer some natural light.
Jean the hostess was wonderful, and there were a bunch of backpackers there with cool stories to share. Stayed up for hours chatting. The rooms are alright and the bathroom is on par for a hostel. Great location in the city 3 minutes from the metro and airport bus stops, and 2 minutes from a night market There was a slight odor in the building but that seems pretty typical for asia.
The rooms are clean and the bathrooms as well. The beds are comfortable, too. The staff can comprehend English very well. The location is very good; accessible to train stations and malls. The breakfast is okay. It's enough since i am not a "breakfaster" but i like their coffee. There are actually lockers but they are hidden away. The maintenance crew for the bathrooms are rude as hell. They blasted the floor with water attempting to clean it when I was still brushing my teeth. I swear I could have snapped their heads off. As for the lockers, the staff did not inform us about their availability. I found it about it when i roamed around the vicinity. As for your roommates, it will depend. If you do not like body odor, hope that you do not get into a room with someone who has and be sure you don't have it, too.
