The staff was very friendly. The hotel is on a cute street in Salzburg, very close to shops, restaurants, and tourist sites. We would definitely stay here again!
Excellent location, very professional and helpful staff.I also liked the rustique room not lacking modern amenities.I would advise more English TV programs.
The location is excellent, very central. The hotel is located on commercial street of the city, an area with restricted car access. Consequently, I lost at least 30 minutes trying to identify the address where I could not reach by car. Finally I called the hotel and they indicate me a different address for car navigation and so I got behind the hotel. Then I realized that the hotel has no parking and I was sent to a public parking (relatively close to ~ 200 meters). A very unpleasant experience, amplified by the fact that rain in that day and walk with luggage from the public parking to the hotel it was not the favorite part of a holliday day.
This is a fantastic hotel! If you like antiques in your room and helpful staff attentiveness, this is the place to stay. The restraint is fantastic. Don't go to it if you want new fusion type food. The menu is very traditional. Each meal was prepared as if your Gran muter was in the kitchen herself. ( I don't know the German word for grand mother, I'm just guessing.) My wife couldn't have been happier with the stay. Comforters- I tend to be a little warm. The big down comforters were a little to warm for me.
Mixture between traditional austrian style and luxury Nothing to complain
Outstanding hotel - staff were efficient and friendly as well as thoughtful. Room was full of character and exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere of the 600 year old hotel was fascinating. We ate room service food which was excellent - we were able to pick locally popular dishes as well as the usual chioces on Hotel Room Service menus. Parking was not convenient by the hotel, but the hotel took care of it all with free valet parking, so this was not a major issue.
The location of the hotel. We enjoyed staying in the 'old' part of Salzburg.
Wonderful staff and perfect location The carpet, TV stand, small sofa and small table and chairs felt a bit cheap and out of place with the rest of the hotel
Restaurant was good but too pricy. For the rest, excellent stay!
charming small hotel in centre of town very noisy at night
Hotel Goldener Hirsch had all the promised alpine charm of a 700-year old hotel. The decor was quaint and we received a free two-level upgrade on our room. Very spacious as a result. Staff was remarkably courteous. A bit expensive for the included amenities, and the old world charm means some amenities are missing or outdated.
Great location - easy to walk to everything.
Very accommodating and friendly staff. Good commend of the English language (among others). Fantastic location that offered a panoramic view of Salzburg. Closeness to elevators that would take you right into the middle of the Old Town Cannot really think of anything, with the exception for an uncaulked crack under a bathroom mirror... :)
The staff was very welcoming and friendly Room service offered a very limited menu.
Amazing Service and a Really Nice Room Nothing
The hotel was fantastic. Couldn't have asked for any better. Great staff, beautiful hotel, excellent location. Highly recommended.
Very charming place, full of character and atmosphere, ideal for a romantic getaway.
The room was beautiful and had an amazing view of Salzburg which was not that obvious to us from the description of the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful but not overbearing or snobby like in some other higher end hotels. Their restaurant was very good as well.
I liked the friendliness and politeness of the staff , the location, service and lovely room. No
Hotel was nice and beautiful. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than what I expected. You can order eggs, sausages, bacon, as you want. Very quiet surroundings, peaceful atomaspher. Room is very small. I expected a nice view from the room, so I was very disappointed. Dinner at the restaurant in this hotel, we had some wrong plate from what we ordered.(It was special dinner for us, so we were disappointed again) If I visit Salzbrug again, I prefer Hotel sacher.
perfect location, excellent staff
the totalle awesome restaurant
Rene fine rom men kanskje litt for minimalistisk'
Location. Great staff. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Pillows are useless. Shower has a really low ceiling.
The room was great -- a studio, but it was just me, and there was enough room to spread out a bit. Stayed four nights and never felt claustrophobic. There is no concierge per se -- rather, the front desk staff acts in that capacity. I had one question that was either ignored or forgotten and got bad information about booking the shuttle to Munich. A concierge shouldn't have to google everything.
Location was excellent & staff extremely friendly & happy!
Its position. It's near the old town and you can have everything in your sight in about 5 minutes. my room (wasn't in a good spot - 1st floor) and the smell from the kitchen in the hall. The breakfast was just good but according to the room rates it should be more qualitative and rich.
The receptionist"Dietmar" is very nice and helpful. The location is in the heart of Salzburg, wouldnt be better than this. -
Restaurant staff particularly friendly and helpful. Food (breakfast and dinner) very good and very good value. Eat outside if you can. Reception staff a bit 'stressed' [need more staff on duty at busy times]. Although our room had aircon, it didn't function fully [cool air, not cold air]. We also overheard other guests commenting on the same problem. The staff 'pretended' they didn't know of this problem. They urgently need to upgrade the aircon...for a town centre location [with the noise you would expect] you need to have the windows shut at bed time, without melting!
Actually not that much! The room was plain , wifi did not work and there was one laptop for all hotelguests, breakfast was a battlefield if you arrived afyer 9 am .
Very nice Hotel in the best location in Salzburg.
The hotel was very central and had a lot of ambiance. The bar area allowed smoking which was a bit of a shock now that Britain is smoke-free!
The rooms are spacious, clean and well conceived. The location is splendid. Staff is very efficient. Difficult to find your way when you arrive by car as the official address indicates Getreidegasse (pedestrian zone, no access for cars). The hotel has a second entrance at the opposite side of the building where you can shortly park the car for unloading. The public garage is very close and easy to find.
Extremely helpful staff Noise-spill from other rooms. Below average bathroom. Price when compared with other similar hotels in W. Europe.
No tea/coffee facilities in the room. No mirror in bedroom(penthouse),no mini bar
staff were very very helpful
Friendly staff. Great location. Just a short walk through the tunnel under the mountain and your in the heart of the old town. Beautiful city! Train station is walkable, but probably best to take the bus a few stops. Everything was great. The hotel is much nicer inside than it appears outside.
Perfectly fine place to stay for a couple of nights. Very convenient to and from the airport the bus goes right by). Good location too! Bit shabby, but the place is currently getting a face lift
Great location, clean, modern rooms and a more than adequate buffet breakfast. Lovely touch with the complementary chocolates and glass of fizz in the bar.
Walking distance to Old Town for sightseeing and restaurants. Free wifi plus terminal in lobby. Seperate toilet and bathroom, limited free parking on site. Friendly receptionist. Breakfast not included in our room rate and was extra 11 euro per person, so unable to comment on selection.
The staff were very nice. The breakfast was lovely and there was a variety available to eat. There was a bus service outside the hotel which was very convenient. I expected that the hotel would be alot nicer than it was judging from their website. The hotel is composed of two buildings. We stayed in the building across from the main hotel. It wasn't as well kept as the main hotel.
Good location, the hotel is very clean and comfortable, very good breakfast, the staff is very efficient
the helpfulness of the staff the room
Perfect location, 8 minutes away from the cathedral square, the river and the castle's funicular. It was quite clean next, to a bus station, and the staff was very helpful and polite. The fact that the pictures of the hotel are showing only the new rooms, and not the old ones.
Very Central Location
