Loved the Inn, it was perfect for what we were looking for. Central to everywhere we wanted to be, walking distance to several shops, restaurants and groceries. Pool was great, staff was great, everything was great. One very nice thing is that we were not constantly being bugged about buying or anything like that. They do offer the information, but not pushy. The only negative thing is that the beds were not the most comfortable, but apparently that's everywhere in Mexico. We will definetely return to the Inn.
The hotel is quite beautiful and all rooms have a set back ocean view. The garden setting is gorgeous and both pools are very nice. The rooms not in the tower are somewhat dated and the one thing not liked was the hotel dings you for all your needs...coffee and such you had to buy from the front desk...even though there is a coffee maker in the room. No coffee cups and the maids never gave new glasses when you had used ones in your room...cleaned them myself. Just little stuff that most people take for granted. Internet is available at the hotel but not for free as we assumed. They charge $40 american dollars per week for use. Wow more than I would have felt they needed to charge. Overall we did love the Inn. The restaurant, Papaguyas is one of the best places to eat. Delicious food and not overpriced compared to other places in Mazatlan. Another DO NOT MISS eating place is 'I Love Lucy's' downtown..Awesome food and so much to choose from..will go back there again next year ...
We stayed at the Inn at Mazatlan and stayed Oct. 2008 and had a great time. The resort location is the best in Mazatlan right in the golden zone within walking distance to tons of restaurants and shopping. The resort is well run, clean and right on the beach and has lots of lounge chairs and shade if you want it. The Fiesta on Wed. night was fun for the whole family with Pinatas, mexican dancers, singers and a great mexican buffet. Our room was very nice. The prices for food and drinks were very reasonable at the resort. They have happy hour twice a day. The pools were beautiful and clean and we felt very safe at this resort.
I would stay at The Inn at Mazatlan again without hesitation. I would rate it as an excellent place to stay. The staff and overall service was friendly, couteous and very helpful. The room had a breathtaking view of the ocean and immaculate grounds surrounded us. When I requested more hangars they were delivered in minutes. The room was clean when we arrived and housekeeping kept it that way every day. The beds were a bit hard, but comfortable enough. It was a good value for the money. My only complaints about the room were the refrigerator that could not be adjusted and everything froze in it and the alarm clock went off at all different times and could not be turned off- it had to be unplugged.
The rooms were comfortable and the staff was great. We had a very pleasant vacation mostly due to having a nice place to stay. The view was beautiful and the sound of the ocean relaxing. I would definately stay at this hotel again.
I have stayed at this hotel several time (timeshare owners), and this last stay will be my last! When we arrived, the front counter staff were very rude! We did not get the room we paid for. We were offered an up grade, which we had to pay an additional $300.00 for. In the upgraded room, the kitchen was flooded, the elivator did not work, the bathroom smelled of sewage, and our fridge was broken.. In addition, my husband asked the staff several time to fix these items and had even asked the hotel manager, and still nothing was done.\nFurther, when going to the restaurant in the hotel, you would wait at least an hour (for each) to place, receive, and pay your bill everytime. We learned to do it alll at one time. The same applys to ordering drinks or food around the pool. They would also charge you for things you did not have and give you things you did not order regularly. \nFinally, at the end of this nightmare, my husband asked if they were going to compensate us for any of the ite...
Nice place but I like El Moro better. Crowd is much younger there and they have lounge chairs on the beach. Our room was a little noisy because it backed up to street....but we were in Mexico so didnt want to complain. We like beach vendors and this hotel has a wall that keeps them from walking up to you. They can still talk to you but they cant really come over the wall.
We spent 8 nights at this hotel in a room facing the pool on the second floor in the wing right off the lobby to the left, The room was bright, very clean, and appeared to have undergone some renovating, new beds for sure. A/C kept the room nice and cool, and there was a good sized refrigerator and a small coffee maker. Balcony was large with two chairs and a table. Large screen tv. Both the bathroom and the bedroom had ceiling fans. These rooms do not have a safe, but you can get a box at the front desk, no charge. There is also no hair dryer in the room, but I believe you can borrow one. Unfortunately, the back of our room faced the back of the lobby, and there was a loud fan that ran 24/7. At night it was a steady loud hum, we had to crank the bathroom window shut, and pile things agains the crack at the bottom of the door to deaden the noise for sleeping. Pool area had plenty of loungers (which the 6 a.m. people ran out to reserve the best locations every day). Pool was warm. Fluff...
The Inn at Mazatlan was an amazing experience! Their customer service was unmatched and simply the most attentive I've ever experienced. How often do you stay at a hotel that when you leave you hug the staff goodbye? We did here! Our rooms were gorgeous, the pool, bar, food, drinks, prices, everything was simpl perfect! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone interested. The hotel's website definitely does not do justice to the beauty and unsurpassed experience you'll receive at this hotel. Can't wait to go back!
A fabulous place that is even better. A change in management meant everything was stepped up even more. Food and beverages were outstanding. Staff couldn't have been warmer and more responsive to everything. Menu had great choices and moderate prices. Even the sumptuous breakfast buffet was priced right. The place was immaculate, the pools clean and welcoming. Any request was addressed immediately. Can't wait to return. Free WiFi in the lounge.
We had not been to Mazatlan so didnt really know where to stay but we really lucked out when we booked at The Inn. If youre looking for a place that is central to great restaurants shops and the beach...The Inn is the place for you. We were approached by someone who wanted to sell us a piece of it right after checking in but I have to say that they didnt bug us about it. No high pressure sales which we really appreciated because we were there to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The staff was terrific the restaurant attached has fantastic food and service. The poolside waiters were awesome. We could go on and on but basically our trip could not have been better. After walking up and down the beach we decided that we were in the right place for our romantic getaway.
The hotel is very well located on the beautiful male con. Rooms overlook the sea and are spacious. Bathrooms are very spacious, too. The staff is extremely helpful.
Drove 13 hours in Mexican traffic and needed a place to rest, this did the trick, got up the next morning at 3am and did 13 more to Tucson Arizona. Had a few hours at the hotel to eat and enjoy the view and plan to stay there if I go back to Mazatlan Nothing yet
This is hotel is perfect for the amount you pay for! The rooms were extremely clean and the layout of the room and restroom look awesome! Great view of the ocean and it is located right in the middle of the ocean strip, and has access to the beach underneath the hotel so you do not have to cross through traffic. Furthermore, if you want to go out, it is close to everything: Downtown, Piers, Restaurants, Entertainment. It was a pleasant experience and very family oriented. What I loved is that they have security all day so you do not have to worry about somebody breaking in to your car which was a concern at first. Lastly they have all your basic needs and accommodations and Satellite TV, fast wifi, and restaurant. The pool was at times messy, but they are quick in cleaning it.
Staff are really good and the location is excellent. I stayed almost 9 days in the hotel and It is one of the best hotel. The staffs helped me alot bcz i don't know spanish.
Beautiful vieuw at the beach. The cleaning service, at the hotel is very good. Hotel is near shopps, discotheak and restaurants. Swimmingpools are not clean enough. The towels are very old, they are washed to many times, should be replaced . some other maintance at the hotel is necesairy.
The staff is very friendly, called us by name, very clean -- if we neeed or wanted anything- they were veryquick and efficient No, it was great location
I loved the location of the hotel. Right on the beach and loved that 3 of the el cid hotels are on the same property so many pools to choose from. Right next to señor frogs which has open bar on Wednesday and Friday which is so fun! Very loud. Under construction?? Can hear everything.
The staff is their biggest asset for sure. Well the loud speaker for the pool activities was a little overboard.
They are always cleaning! Necessary when you are right on the beach, but still impressive. Constant sweeping. The A/C worked well in my room, but not in my friends' room. Although the beds were hard, they managed to be very comfortable for me. Several English tv channels. It is right on the beach! Nice to be able to just walk right there and also to have the view. NOISY! I had a room overlooking the pool, but also the beach. My room had very little insulation from the noise on the beach (bands) or down below (poolside entertainment) OR next door (through the adjoining door). In fact, every afternoon, my room also smelled like frying food from the pool restaurant. The sounds of the waves in the middle of the night were very strong, too! I also went to perhaps the best quality restaurant there (La Concha) and had a delicious meal, which I then vomited up a few hours later. I was surprised that, as careful as I was about eating only trustworthy places and foods, that cooked fish, vegetables and rice would finally get me. Towel service was spotty. They would come get the dirty towels early in the day and not clean the room until late afternoon, so if you needed a shower mid-day, you might have been without a towel. I rarely was provided with hand towels and washcloths both. They try very hard to get you to buy a timeshare. No desire, with an experience like this.
I spent last week at Margaritas-it's nothing fancy, but it was well run by some really nice people who tried (and succeeded) in making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. It's across the street from the beach, so you have to put in a little effort (walk a block), but for the price, I thought it was just fine- pool was clean but small, but I was about the only person there (off season) so it really didn't matter. If you want to save some bucks, this place will do nicely. One important note-Travel website states all rooms have kitchenettes and fridges-NO rooms have either-you'll need to buy a cooler at the grocery store next door and spend a buck for ice everyday.
great location and seaside rooms are amazing! Clean, (albeit under renovations), simple and a great value! One of the best values I've had in a long time. A simple, yet not overrun Mazatlan!
The perfect location for enjoying the old town of Mazatlan, and just across the street from a cozy beach.
Very good location at the North end of Mazatlan. Great night life area. Small but friendly beach. Lots of food and shopping close. The hotel is currently being remodled. No elevator, and the wooden upper walkways seemed rickety. But the hotel has a very good charm, and I would love to go again.
Great location, excellent staff in the daytime, free internet access, good cable tv no coffee makers in rooms, noisy interior courtyard, in need of remodeling
the staff was friendly and assisted with all our requests . would go back again in the future
hotel has a great location...plaza machado is a great place to escape to near by...tons of good food nearby construction woke me up on saturday at 830am. cmon!!
Location to beach close to historic centre .. Our room was on the third floor ,no elevator my wife was born with club feet and has extreme difficulty climbing stairs we were not offered a room on the main .which had vacancies.
Location: - Right at the water with a sandy beach. - Rooms with ocean view are available at an affordable rate. - Next to Joe's Oyster Bar - a great beach club / bar for late night dancing and fun - Close to old Mazatlan (short cab ride or nice walk on the beach) Nothing - I thought it was a great hotel
Hotel location is good, close to shopping mall in the tourist area. non confortable beds, towels, sheets and pillows very old and smells to humidity. Bad service in check in. General room conditions are less than expected. Internet access is not good and very expensive as well.
felt secure, it was clean, good little restaurant, and good location
We love the availability of parking on site. The fact that they allow animals. The price. The location, near restaurants and shopping, and the Sports Bar. The staff was also very helpful.
This hotel was excellent value for money. The restaurant was excellent for dinner and Breakfast,
It is right across the street from Playa and the beach is right there. Just a few steps away is the south end of the golden zone, where you find great food and shops. It is a safe little hotel, and very clean. The pool is small but empty most of the time, it is also very clean. The food is mexicain, the service was pretty good. no bathtubs.
A nice hotel close to the beach, bars and restaurants.
Clean, good location
It was beautiful. The location was perfect; the balcony setting overlooking the ocean was amazing. Easy access to Old Town. Best night I've ever spent in Mazatlan. No complaints!
Beautiful Shower! Close walk to historic district. Small pool
Location away from the most populous areas. Better than average rooms. Same menu buffet items day after day.
Great view and huge room . We got a free upgrade. Beautiful grounds and pool. $10 charge for Wi-Fi is outrageous. Constant bidding for tips.
I suspect they post their own good reviews given the complaints constantly shared around the pool and environs by guests. The staff is nice, the location is nice but the units are moldy and bug ridden. They screwed up our reservation and charged so much more than expected, then demanded all our identification: passport, driver's license, and then they wanted credit card information. They wouldn't check us out until all the dishes and silverware were counted, after we had put up with the ants and cockroaches. Horrible place.
I had wonderful time at El Rancho Beach Resort...the concept is really focus on relaxing and enjoy the nature.. they have exclusive beach.. perfect for privacy and safe.
This place was amazing. Quiet, peaceful, warm people, great beach. Not the feel of a hotel, more like home. We enjoyed ourselves so much and would go back in a heartbeat.
My wife and i have been in Mazatlan for several times. For this last trip we decided to try a different hotel and we simply loved it!!! Our children had so much fun there. The hotel is located in a secluded area, very private.. we felt so good and secure about our children playing on the beach, because we were almost the only people there.. the staff was very friendly and helpful.\n\nWe went there to celebrate Valentines with our twins.. and we definitely will come back.\n\nThe villa is very spacious, two floors, complete kitchen, all you might need you will find it in your villa. Breakfast just in our garden, with the oceanfront view.. amazing.\n\n
We enjoyed a clean beach, polite/respectful vendors, a friendly staff, and were delighted at how easy it was to travel to & from the downtown area while staying at El Rancho. Sunsets were wonderful! The landscaping is beautiful and the ocean within steps. Mornings were the best!\nThe beds were HARD, we had ants in both bathrooms, the kitchen was sparsely equipped, the cupboards and stove greasy, there was no dishwasher or dishwashing materials, we did not have a microwave for the first half of our stay, we had no heat or air conditioning in the room (and at times would have used them), TV was geared to Spanish speaking folks with no world news available, the pool was beautiful but not heated and not used, the hot tubs were luke-warm and used by everyone so the water was dingy and sandy and bubbly with bleach-smelling chemicals, and finally El Rancho would not pick us up from the airport when we arrived.\nWe were disappointed, but made the best of our accommodations. The staff were ...
Ive been at El Rancho with my wife and kids. \nI spent wonderful time with them there. \nThe service on the beach is excellent.\nThe villas are HUGE!!! i was expecting to get a normal suite with 2 bedtoom but .. what a sorprise it's a full condo. I guess that about the 1100 sq ft it's true.. i felt like at home.. my satellite tv, my living room, dining room with my wife and kids. My son George enjoyed so much our stay. We rent a Poolside villa.. and it has been just perfect because i just that to open my living room door (which is actually a wonderful window) and then we jump in the water. I falled inlove with my wife again.. very romantic. And that about the priveate beach is also true..\naah the pool is warmed up.. during the nights is delicious to get a drink and stay until late. \n\nThanks villas El Rancho!!
Great place, stayed oceanfront, really was oceanfront, about 20 steps to beach.\nRestauant okay but not great.\n\nIf you stayed here and did not like it, you have a problem and wouldn't like it anywhere.\n\nTIP: Go downtown to the OLAS ALTAS STEAKHOUSE (next to the shrimp bucket) for a wonderful steak.
We were looking for a relaxing, mini-getaway that was easy, inexpensive and low-key. We found it in Mazatlan and at El Rancho. The property is a little older and the years are starting to show, but the rooms are clean and spacious. We had some issues (needing to get the A/C turned on, lighting the pilots of the stove, unclogging a shower, etc.), but the front desk was very helpful and took care of our requests immediately. Even though there were just two of us, we liked that the villa had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. And, we liked the 'feel' of two floors. It felt more like a home. Having a full kitchen was helpful - we ate breakfast in every day. The hotel is a bit far from the 'heart' of things, but the buses and pulmonias are very accessible, easy to use, and cheap! We had no problem getting into the city whenever we wanted - about 15 minutes to the Golden Zone and 30 minutes to downtown. Although there isn't a lot around in the area of the hotel, and at meal times this was a bit...
The villas are very nice and clean. Very friendly staff. Wonderful sunsets and good food and service at the restaurant. We`ll be back next year for sure.
Beach location was good, but very overcrowded when I was there. I was there with the business colleague for a business trip and was highest price hotel in Mazatlan. When I found my room was not on the beach side hotel, we paid and upgraded to rooms on the beachfront hotel. However, we found out it was only one bedroom suite room they wanted to put us in. When I went to get a second room, they made me pay an up charge again. I truly felt that it was a scam to keep getting more money out of me. This whole process took 1.5 hours to check in and was very frustrating. Facilities are very dated and not completely clean like newer hotels would be. The pool area and beach was very crowded while I was there. There was no room to grab a chair. It was more an old vacation time-share place, than a quality business hotel. Some place like the Ramada would have been a better choice and $100 cheaper. I had stayed at the W in Mexico City for the same price as this and it was in a whole other level. If I was to compare the 2, El Cid would have to be a 1 or 2 out of 10. They may charge these higher prices to compensate for the timeshare people that do not provide enough cash flow.
i liked the staff. very polite and accommodating the pool was filthy. the guests were dirty. elevators leaked water from ceiling. it was busy and not very private. the ocean had lots of dangerous waves and jelly fish. food was mediocre. there was construction going on and it was very loud!!!! could not sleep in! it is far from the city.
I would like to say there was something special about this hotel but that would be a true lie Absolutely nothing comes to kind regarding this crummy hotel!! THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL 1. The rooms smell! it was so humid in the room you could tell Mold was growing-Air was on! 2. I slept something sharp below the sheets. 3. After complaining to Esmeralda, I was told somone would contact me no one ever did!
Staff are great, especially at the spa and Kelly's. Bohemian nights ( guitar music)at Kelly's Bar. Expansive grounds. Free Shuttle into town. All Inclusive drinking ruins the atmospherePrices in the deli are outrageous, no price tags on food items, 3-4 times more than at home. Timeshare sales annoying.Timeshare sales
