The facilities are very nice and the rooms are large. The housekeeping was not great. They sometimes would forget to bring towels.
design, new hotel, bar, wireless facilities location not optimal
I'm a frequent traveller (in average 1-2 night per week in a hotel), but unfortunately HH Boston is a rare example of excellence in the hotel world. From arrival til departure only the best possible service, food, room. And that without costing one arm and a leg... I can't await to get back soon ! There was absolutely no such thing !
Personal reception, great rooms and shower, good breakfast noise of the elavator in the room.
nice, spacious and clean hotel room & bathroom, quiet, very friendly personnel further away from city center as expected
Helpful staff and chic design of hotel rooms and lobby area.
the large room and the special decoration no swimming pool
The staff was really nice and frinedly!!! Location is ok but for somebody who wants to be close to the center (Jungfernstieg etc.) there are probably better options in the city center
Keen and friendly young staff. Food of good quality and value (excellent Caesar salad; good breakfast). Stylish modern design. Huge room. Nice bar. Free internet access. Enjoyed staying there. Location is in a rather run-down area away from city centre (which helps to keep the price down, but wouldn't suit everyone. Fitness room poorly equipped for a hotel of this quality: didn't even have a treadmill. Bathrooms well furnished, but the showers were unusually cramped.
It was near the centre as indicated by the site. The hotel was comfortable and had good value for money. Wireless internet was available though very expensive. The staff was helpful - when I complained that the light in my room was not functioning well, I was given another room immediately. Wireless internet was too expensive! 2 euros for 15 minutes is a bit excessive in my opinion.
easy and good hotel for low cost
Overall it was pretty well-maintained. The after hours check-in process was easy and we did not have any issues. Staff was friendly. The rate was also fair compared to the cost of surrounding hotels. It's a good, inexpensive place to stay for a night or two, especially if you're just looking for a room to sleep in and not a place to spend a lot of time indoors. It was a little too bare bones. If there was just a bit more comfort and modern touches added to the room it would have made a huge difference. Also, the inside of the comforter was dirty. The cover and the sheet were clean but you could easily see that the inside was not. Also, the room was a bit too small to accomodate a young couple. It really is geared more for a single traveller. It isn't a place I would recommend for a long-term stay.
The breakfast There was no one working in the reception at the time I arrived and there was only a sign in German how to enter the hotel since the door was locked. In the end I had to call from my italian mobile to get in. It would have been good with the information also in english.
with it's reasonable price with full facility, i'm really feel satisfactory
The hotels in Hambug are typically expensive, but, thank God exists the GHOTEL hotel and living. Its is a fully fledged 4 star hotel at an affordable price!! Best option in Hamburg for normal tourists and businessmen. None.
Windows all face into a central courtyard, so its surprisingly quiet. - Number code for the elevator (access to hotel) did not work - but there's a staircase on the far side of the building, so I did get in. - Passages heavily smell of cigarette smoke.
Nice, friendly and helpfull service in reception and in breakfast-room, very quite location and easy approach from the airport and from the center The window directly on the intern roof, was afraid to open it in fully. If the mineral water isn't finished, don't expect to obtain a new one on the next day.Access to the hotel should be bettter described on the website.Problems with the lift.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. The rate was very reasonable for the facilities provided. I was able to have breakfast on an outside terrace on the fifth floor with a fantastic view of the city and harbour. Whilst a little way out of the centre public transport is excellent in Hamburg and a bus for either the U-Bahn or the city centre stopped every few minutes directly outside the hotel. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the Schanzenviertel which has a great selection of whacky bars and restaurants. The room was not air-conditioned and temperatures rose to 33 degrees while I was there.
Not a thing Everything dirty , unfriendly staff
The Staff was very kind and helpfull dusty room old shower / toilett facilities no lift into the 6th floor so i had to carry my suitcase up the stairs in general its a very old hotel, carpets in the hallways are dirty and smelly overpriced for what u get
interesting location poor breakfast as a lot of guests had their breakfast at 830 hours and tha personnel did not provide enough at the breakfast buffet
Nice room and minibar. Bikes were offered to stall in garage The bed was not so comfortable, size ok, but hard sleeping.
The hotel is not very close to the center, a few bus stations from the s-bahn station Holsterstrasse. The good thing: unlimited free Internet. It is time to make a renovation in the hotel. Also they should bye a better Internet rooter.
The needed refurbishment is going on reception should also happen in room. Recptionist was great and very helpful
nice location with lots of nice cafes and restaurants. Easy connection with public transport to the center. For a 4 stars hotel Nordic Hotel Domicil is very shabby and old. Its more like a 3 stars budget hotel. We reserved a 3 person bedroom so that our 4 year old dauther would have her own bed, we got a room with 2 separate beds and one camping bed in the middle. The camping bed was so old that the springs was jumping out. For our 4 months old baby we got a baby bed that she could not sleep in since the middle leg at the bottom was sticking up. So we ended up sleeping all 4 in the two separate beds we pushed together since the manager was not available until the next morning.
Staff was prepared and came up with a better solution on our booking on arrivals. They got free internet that worked fast and had a very good breakfast
Good selection for breakfast. Free fixed pc internet. No restaurant and not much in the area. Small, indifferent bar.
Easy access to the old town by bus #3
The underground car park was a huge benefit and made us feel our car was completely safe. This did cost £7 extra. The out of date bathroom was surface clean, as was the bed linen but the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years (although I think it needs replacing). The beds were also in need of replacement. Altogether I think this hotel was out of date and in desperate need of refurbishment. Very disappointing for the money we paid!
Superb service, super restaurant, good public transportation to city center, comfortable Way to room was unwieldy
Hotel has an excellent location and wonderful staff very attentive to every detail. I travel about 160 days a year so I stay in hotels as much as I stay at home. This hotel is one of the nicest I stayed in. In the little restaurant they allowed smoking which can ruin a great dinner
I thought the staff were very attentive, helpful, friendly - always smiling/genuine and professional. The atmosphere was welcoming and not at all pretentious. The breakfast was delicious and the wine selection at Kleines Jacob was impressive. The overall stay was extremely pleasant, and I would defiinitely go back. I would have liked it if the shuttle bus option was available throughout the day or at least all morning. Also the juice at breakfast should be freshly pressed for a hotel of this standard.
The quiet neighbouring area.... This old hotel could have been a traditional place with 19C mood but the hotel owner seems to have renovated it into a luxruious and rich but souless place--in terms of the hotel's interior and the service of the staff. I feel like I am staying at any of 5-star hotels in downtown of a big metropolitan city like New York, Singapore, Tokyo or Seoul. No touch of Hamburg.
Definitely an off-the-beaten-track, cosy and quaint haven of peace away from the bustling atmosphere of a modern and big city like Hamburg - hotel offerred to pick me up from the nearest train station
Good atmosphere The fact that some rooms are located in another building(s) across the streets.
All staff were very friendly and helpful. Great German wines in the bar.
The hotel is located along the Elbe river, in a quiet neighborhood outside the center, which we enjoyed very much as wanted to have a peaceful relaxing stay The deco, the friendliness of the staff, the atmosphere, value added services (arrangement for 'surprise' birthday cake, cleaning of the car windows overnight in garage, just to list a fewe) etc etc were just fantastic ...this is certainly a top quality hotel. We were looking forward to dining at their restaurant as they had good reviews. We tried to make a reservation upon arrival but were told that it was fully booked for the next two days. At the end, the waitlist had cleared and we had a dinner there but were not too impressed with the quality - and we thought 4.5 hours for 4 course dinner was a little too long. Surely there are people who enjoy long dinner but we thought they could consult the guests as 45min waiting time between the courses is rather unusual. Also, we was told that as the menu was hand written (which is nice), they needed to have 2 day priopr notice to prepare a 'lady's menu' which we thought was quite surprising for the restaurant of that reputation/price.
good service, nice restaurant
evrything was perfect
Rooms comfortable and clean, restaurant good and easy bus trip to city centre. Most important ample car parking.
room is very clean internet is not convenient
the big bed, the toilet was good, but we didn't stay verry long at the hotel the cleaning woman, the man who came in my room at 8'o clock in the morning and wake me up
Suggest that when the pay view botton i entered on the remote control then the room number has to be entered before the channel will be shown.
Silence and quietness
room was clean breakfast was not included in price - in the US it would have been. I had to pay to use internet - again, in the US this is free. The room was facing a loud street and the temp. in room was too warm but could not be fixed - so I opened window but then it was too loud from street noise.
Location The air did not work.
very nice, clean and stylish hotel. room ar confortable and good size, staff helpful
Breathtaking view on the harbour, at least if you are lucky enough to have a room at the front side.
The location and spaciousness of the rooms. It also has a very good deli below, which being an apartment was useful.. It could use more instructions/ comments etc in English.
The design of the hotel and the proximity to the Harbour in Hamburg No staff to help, no cleaning daily, really noisy cobblestones in the streat outside (cars sounded like trucks - all night long)
I only like thr cofee machine
The room and the view from the room was great. no breakfast - but in the end no problem
Spacious Room, modern elements Water in tub was difficult to manage. Either too hot or too warm.
The situation; rooms nicely furnished No air conditioning, and very noisy street in the night, so it was not possible to sleep with open windows. Receptionist was not on duty as advertised, very poor assistance from her part and rude response to our remarks.
since years I enjoy to stay here for some days the weather :-))))
Excellent rooms and good value for money, in particular the hotel service and staff were excellent and could not be faulted.
Spacious and modern apartments.
Great location, open all hours, room clean and as advertised.
The room is ok with Wc and shower in the bath.Optimal position between 2 fantastic district (S.Pauli and one near Hotel I don't remenber the name but you see becouse the are a lot of people).Metro stop (Line S3) the bus stop next S.Pauli. I haven't breakfast....
The Altan Hotel was in a very convenient location with easy access to transport in order to get around Hamburg. The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and always avaliable to help. Although the hotel was good value for money, the cleanliness of the room was of a lower standard than expected.
Hotel room was clean and refurbished. The hotel entrance and the reception is in a pub, however it wasn't noisy at all, but i stayed there on tuesday night, so there were just a few guests in the pub. The room and the bathroom had windows, however they were covered with decals, because there was a wall just 1 meter from the window.
The 24/24hr availability ; the price.
I liked staff of the hotel. Conditions were not so good, but it was the cheapest hotel in this region. Toilet is not in every room. Sometimes we had little problems with water.
Not very good with children, stairs
the staff is very nice and helpful. the hotel is in a lovely position for the hamburg nightlife. only little thing is too many stairs! and well if you're on the last floor you have to go to the lower for the toilet.
Internet worked not only near reception, but in room too. All ok.
Breakfast was very good and rich. The maids were too noisy.
parking space, public transport, sauna facilities
Staff Its litle bit far from downtow....
The swimmingpool and resturante Stains on the carpet
Location and Noise from main road
Excellent, big breakfast Spacious room Friendly staff
the personel small bed
staff wasn't all that friendly or helpful. wireless internet access was ridiculously expensive as was breakfast
nice sauna pool, open until late, which was very convenient. room and hallway was a little worn, not really at Novotel very high standards; hallways need refurnishing
Convenient for where we needed to go, welcoming entrance hall, decent dinner and excellent breakfast buffet, surprisingly quiet rooms
staff was friendly and spoke good English the showers and baths are shared, it is not a major issue, though it would be handy if at least one out of two was inside the rooms
Need to increase quality, wireless internet connection needed to be provide Staff's response
Cheap and cheerful Out of the way
It was clean - mostly everything else - no parking, not possible to use credit card, horrible bed, contruction site outside the window, no breakfast
good price and location next to the fair
Greit Hotell, bedre enn forventet. litt dårlig med parkering, få plasser på hotel parkeringen, ellers parkering i gatene rundt hotelet.
Putene i sengene Et bord forran sofaen
Lett å finne gangavstand til gågate/shopping kjempefinst for oss som skulle ta biltoge trett oger gaten
Veldig sentralt. Ett godt utgangspunkt for turer i Hamburg ,og ett rimelig alternativ med god standard
Superbude St. Pauli was the most amazing Hostel I have stayed in so far (I have stayed in quiet a lot hostels in Europe and abroad). It opened in the beginning of 2012 and everything is new... very new and clean shower and toilets... very good beds... lovely style throughout the whole hostel! Someone has really been thinking about the whole concept and the implementation is just perfect! For my next stay in Hamburg, I'll definately go for it! Can't say anything about the breakfast, cause I didn't have any. Guests in the hostel varied from young backpackers to families with kids and we even saw an old couple...
Freundliches Personal, der Preis ist in Ordnung, angenehmes Zimmer die Bettdecken waren leider ziemlich schlecht und führten zu Schwitzanfällen.
Room was comfortable, large, stylish. Free internet was very nice. Free wifi would be good (the internet connection is wired).
design, furnitures used, restaurant was definitely not like typical hotel-restaurant, but a very nice & cosy one.
In a business area but close to enterntainement areas (with public transport, s-bahn). A bit impersonal, design can look cheap sometimes.
Great hotel, large room. Plenty of space for a family with 3 young children (4,3,1).
Good vibe ; Very friendly staff, very helpfull with the children; Nice big rooms; Enjoyable place
The room design and the food (dinner). The food was excellent and the reception staff were very helpfull. I think that breakfast is a bit pricey
Great modern design hotel without spending a fortune. Lovely helpful staff and nice clean room with great bathrom. Not right in the centre but an easy taxi ride in so not problem getting around from there. Lots of parking, overall a great hotel.
The Style - cool and Funky Limited amenities - TV simple, no HI FI, few treats
