Consistant high standard throughout Europe. Choice of breakfast items could be better, specially considering you actually charge extra for this.
The location just opposite the Bern Expo is perfect - only few minutes of walking.
parkingplace the way reception helped us. no good listening end she even didn't look in my face.
No free connction in the rooms , parking and breakfast + 24 chf/day
I had a good room and clean facilities. It's easy to get there (just get on tram 9 from the train station).
good location - pubilc transportation to old town right across the street, took 5 min or 15 min on a scenic path.
It was the most reasonably priced hotel we could find in a very expensive city (country). Everything was as it needed to be for a comfortable budget stay. Front desk staff member made bus change, provided directions and answered grocery store questions even though she was swamped. Very courteous. They need more support at the front desk. It was always busy for the one person on duty at check-in time.
The room was very clean and tidy. Parking places were not enough. .We had to look for parking places, although we had payed for it.
The room was a great size and the room facilities were in good condition. The distance from the city centre was a little too far for walking distance, but the tram stops right out the front of the hotel and takes you right into the heart of the city.
best price and easy to get to location
A clean place to sleep with a good shower. The TV system had only one English channel (CNN), though they advertised many more. The staff was unfriendly and could answer no questions (didn't know where movie theaters were, didn't know about the hotel's room service or restaurant hours, didn't know about the Internet connection, etc. etc.). The only food available was expensive and elaborate.
Great breakfast. Tram stop directly opposite hotel which takes you straight into city centre. Quiet rooms Room was very very hotel with no air-conditioning and window that only opened 10cm
Accomodatin standards, family friendly There is nothing not to like
Good location only 20 min walk to city center down a beautiful street overlooking the old city and river.
Great business hotel, right on the tram which in 10 min takes you into Bern, where you can connect to go anywhere in Switzerland. very clean and great staff. room carpet was stained, it is not in Bern city center, and there is nothing nearby for sight seeing, but these are easy to get over.
Very comfortable room. Queensize bad was outstanding. It's a rare case for a hotel where wc and bath-room are separated. Moreover the latter contains both, a bath and a shower which is very convenient. The planning and furniture are also very nice. The staff is very nice as well. Private parking at good price is also an advantage. Good value for money. Not the center of the city of course, but the connection by tram is very convenient. Suggest they make some kind of guide sign to their parking as it is not very big and you have a chance to miss the entrance easily.
Staff friendly, bed comfortable
Excellent sized room, efficient check in, check out - very pleased Menu choice was not that great
The location was great! It is outside of the city, which was great to keep us out of traffic and the rush of tourism. However, the walk to the city was not far, and on the way, was spectacular views of the city from on top of a hill. Hotel was typical Novotel; no surprises there. Paid parking is a bit expensive, so we were glad we were able to park our car and leave it as a way to minimize parking charges.
hotel staff is excellent, location is good: close to the historical part of the city, there was free underground parking during our stay no swimming pool
The restaurant is wonderful. The concierge most helpful. A beautiful building, great view of the Alps It is not your fault. Switzerland is very expensive for us from the US
The room and the view of Bern from the room was beautyfull The TV was without audio and the jet of water in the bathroom was poor. But probably is it not so normally.
very comfortable luxurious hotel with easy access to the old town Bern.
The location is brilliant! It's just 10 min walk from the train station. All the attractions and restaurants of Bern are within walking distance. The staff is quite attentive. The rooms are spatious, and the view from the room is good. It was quet and clean there. There were technical problems with the TV receiver, which were not solved within 3 days of our stay there.
The view from the terrace was really excellent and the room was worthy of 5-star. The location was unbeatable. I got the special offer which was reasonable and made me happy. But, I cannot afford the normal price.
We loved the view from our room, the quietness of the place, the room was spacious and tastefully arranged, the location is excellent, staff was extremely nice Not enough shampoo, bath gel and body lotion
Friendly staff , spacious rooms , beautiful design. late breakfast, close to every point in the city missed a jaquzzi for relaxing after a long walk......
view from the room
This hotel merits its 5 star rating with top-notch staff, beautiful accommodations with lovely lake views and excellent location within easy walking distance of most major attractions. The cost of the breakfast buffet is very expensive. Finding a place for a reasonably priced breakfast in the area was difficult.
service, style, class, location
1. good housekeeping, good breakfast, good facilities & reasonable price.
The staff was very present, nice and helpful.
good value for money, clean, large room, quiet
Lovely room, helpful and friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Well located for the city. No English TV channel. bbc24 would have been good
Location: it is 10 minutes walk from Bern station. If it is indicated to go out from the university side's exit of the station it is very easy to find it. Breadfast is just OK but service person was friendly. According to the infromation on the web-site I believed that I could check in at 1:00p.m. We could but there was no receptionist. If you use this hotel several times and know this system there will be no problem.
Spacious room wooden floor made sound whenever we walked around
good location, clean, freindly staff
The value for the money was quite good, at a two-star hotel, one cannot expect too much, but the room was fairly clean and the beds weren't too bad at all. The breakfast was quite good and the windows kept a lot of the street noise out. I was happy to find a city map and attraction guide in the room. The hotel wasn't a bad drive from the center of the city, although for walking it was way too far (about 3 miles). The shower was a bit moldy and the shower door was broken (but we did have plenty of hot water!!). I was really glad we were on the top floor as the wooden floorboards were extremely squeaky and I felt bad for the people under us. There was not abundent parking on the street, we got lucky finding a spot fairly close to the hotel.
Arabelle was a basic, clean and affordable hotel with minimum amenities. Situated in a mixed residential/retail quarter of Bern, it is 15 min walk from the old quarter and the botanical gardens. The european breakfast buffet had the usual breads, meats, cheeses, yogurts and cereals and a very welcome caffine machine. The room was somewhat dated in furnishings which would suggest the price was a little steep as I've stayed in simular hotels in Germany for about a third less cost.
distance to city center
There was only 1 pillow and it was not comfortable enough for me...
The breakfast was good. Free Internet Staff was not very helpful.
Wonderful hotel next to a tram stop that takes you downtown and to train station. Rooms were efficient and clean, staff was wonderful, and breakfast was great. Room did not have A/C and the windows open in an unusual way, so cooling the room down was hard. Not ususally an issue, but we were there when the weather warmed up.
nice staff; good information; quiet area (no street noise)
clean after renovation too small for a family of 4 people, no privacy in the bathroom
breakfast hotel furniture
Nice contemporary furnitue with relaxing colors internet access not convenient
Very nice breakfast, good central location across from train station.
Helpful and friendly staffs. Convenient location, both the old town and the train station are within easy reach. Good breakfast. Nothing.
Location, staff is nice , fair breakfast , fantastic bed bathroom a bit small , no wardrobe , crappy TV
very good position, good staff.
Access to Railway, and very quiet room, excellent desk. English spoken, a new building. Very convenient position.
Clean, direct access from underground parking to the hotel, comfortable bathroom although small Noicy and the room was too small, no minibar
Way over priced for what you get.
It was a very clean hotel with pleasant staff. Centrally placed for the railway station and the centre of Berne
Smaklig minimalistisk innredet, mange fasiliteter, meget sentralt Nei
Sentral beliggenhet. Praktiske rom hvor alt fungerte. bra Frokost. Ingen tng å klage over. Ingen støy Savnet mere grønnsaker til frokost og grovere brød
Meget sentralt i gammlebyen i Bern. Enkelt og komme til hotellet fra sentralbane stasjonen. Det var meget mye støy på enkelte rom p.g.a baren i tilknyttning til hotellet. Bør skifte til støydempende glass.
Clean rooms, nice staff, great value for money
Beliggenhet.
Det manglet leselys over sengene.
The staff is nice and the French benefit is a free ticket for 2 1/2 hours of pleasure in the BernAqua spa. Connection to the centre of the city is good, just 8 minutes by train that goed frequently. Prefab boxes, noisy, small and definitely overprized. You have to find the hotel through a labyrinth in a underground parking garage. It do not understand the good review of other visitors. This is the first time that I felt misleaded by the review on Booking in 7 years!
The staff was very pleasant and helpful, willing to answer all questions. The room was comfortable & clean. Easy access to Train transportation.
Cleanliness of room. Cheap parking available. Languages spoken by reception staff. Reserved Queen-size bed but were given twins. Breakfast poor for the price (not American breakfast as advertised). Address did not appear on TomTom, so was very difficult to find.
All in one shopping spa destination Knocking of door in the morning
Hotel is part of a shopping center and gives access to a water center. Nice choice for the breakfast
Convenient access to city centre via train stop and bus station opposite. Shopping centre attached to the hotel with good range of shops and eating places. Cost of breakfast and garaging for car were not included in price. As it is used as a business base for many people who do not pay their own hotel expenses was therefore very expensive for tourists, ie us!
It is located next to a shopping mall and we found it very convenient. For Japanese, it was another convenience to find a Ramen shop there! The room was also very clean and comfortable for us. If you do not need luxurious facilities, this hotel must be the best option at very reasonable price. We were really satisfied. Only disadvantage might be its location a few stations away from Bern startion.
Good service at the reception; proximity of shopping center & Bernaqua air conditionning not easy to set
Great location right in the most modern Shopping Center of Europe with an unbelievable Aqua Park with wellness facilities.
almost good. it didn't work my visa credit card, so i paid by cash. it was a little distant from central rail station.
location - easy access to the city centre and is very quite the resturant is closed at that night and no eating place nearby
Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel unpretentious but clean. Great location for football stadium. Some sort of tea/coffee facilities would have been good.
everything except of the pillow uncomfortable pillow otherwise great!
close to city transportation
Excellent attitude of personnel, nothing was really a problem, for example early breakfast at 6AM, electric outlet adaptor for use in the room or parking after check out. Space for parking cars is a bit narrow.
helpfulness of the staff and quiet location comfort of bed and towels
My husband and I chose the hotel through internet and we hoped to find it as described. As soon as we entered, we could feel it was Ok - we were given a warm welcome by the staff, the hotel and the room had an extraordinary smell of cleanliness. The lavish morning breakfast rounded it all. The hotel boasts of a quiet area in a busy city. We would certainly choose it again on our next visit to Bern. Keep it up! Thee was nothing we didn't like as we felt comfortable throughout our 6 day stay there.
The staff were very receptive and informative
Large rooms. Close to city centre but also in quiet street. Parking is hard to find even if hotel isn't full. After we booked in, I never saw any of the staff.
I myself am in the hospitality sector, and my expectaions on a hotel on one of the main streets of Bern were the "regular touristic stuff", however the two concierges I dealt with, the front desk personel and the rest of the staff were more than friendly and helpful all the time.. For example, when we went to have breakfast 5 minutes after the buffet was supposed to close they did all for us to enjoy our teas ans latte capuccini as well as the full buffet (excellent pancakes and also the parmiggianio was great).
Proximity (5-10 mins walk) to all major Old Town attractions, shopping and transport as well as charming attempt at the true Belle Epoque style felt throughout the hotel and the rooms. Also a bowl of fruit and a welcome hand-written note from the owners was a nice touch. There is a nice and relaxed restaurant on the ground floor/terrace level which is very pleasant for a quiet coffee in the morning or late dinner/drinks in the evening. It is a boutique-style Old Town hotel but it does feel a little "tired" and is edging more towards the 3* rather than 4* hotel. Facilities are very basic, as is a very expensive (CFR 21) buffet breakfast and room cleaning service leaves a lot to be desired for. Room prices are comparable to other 4*-5* hotels in Bern but offer very poor value for money.
upon arrival they had a very nice and amusing jazz concert...good music and very nice "ambiance"...
I had visited the hotel in the 90s when it was a bijoux of beautiful original art nouveau antiques. Now it is ugly and full of second rate flea market objects. What a disappointment!
The staff was very friendly & they upgraded us to a suite which was lovely
Really nice place, extremely kind staff.
Friendly staff and good location Only one person of staff was working at reception and restaurant (at the same time)
everything - Actually, we think you have under-rated the hotel in your website. it is fantastic and the staff are all very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Hotel has great ambiance and location is great!!!
I enjoyed the good service and the friendly staff. However, the hotel is quite small with smallish rooms and a small stairway. The lift was useful to get the luggage up. The double glazed windows were needed to keep the street noise down. The room air became stuffy overnight. I liked the Art Deco room decor. Breakfast was expensive, but so was everything in Switzerland.
The Sunday evening concert
Wireless LAN The rooms I was in was a bit oldfashioned, and not suited for the business traveller (very small table to work on)
Very central position No porters to carry luggage
Convenience to railway station No
it is clean and well situated the carpeting of the stairs leading down from the 1st floor
Nice staff, clean room. Everything is reasonable It is not so easy for me to find the hotel.
