It was in a good location. We had a corner room overlooking the city gate, so the view was pretty, but a bit noisy. The hotel was comfortable and the staff very welcoming. The only thing that needs upgrading are the towels. They were very thin and scratchy. Theven old town area was very charming, especially since we were there during the holidays. I would stay at this hotel again if in the area.
excellent quality and low price Very slow for checking out
Fine service from caring hotel staff and english speaking.
(1) very convenient location (2) room is spacious (3) a selection of fruit available at the reception (4) staff are helpful and responsive nil.
Everything was first class with superb customer service. shower curtain faulty
Very comfortable bed, great shower, wonderful breakfast The receptionist at the frontdesk was on the phone for much too long both at check in & check out.
Its proximity to the town. The good breakfasts. Comfortable beds. On a busy road junction and therefore noise from traffic unavoidable.
staff were very helpful and very polite
Better than many 4 stars hotels.
We liked all the small efforts they had made in order to make everyone welcome such as keeping fruit baskets for those who stayed there and free internet facilities. Would have liked to have had some hot food for breakfast.
Very nice family room with AC. Clean and big rooms. Breakfast is very good, and the hotel is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The booked parking space was very limited in space for our SUV.
Meget sentral beliggenhet i Basel. Rolig sidegate.
Flott frokostsal og utmerket frokost. Pent rom om enn i trangeste laget.Ganske sentral beliggenhet. Bra hotell
Inside the hotel one feels the unbelievable atmosphere of great history of it and past centuries. The manager at the reception was extremely polite By understandable reasons there is no swimming pool to a pity
The attitude of all members of the hotel staff with have come to contact with was excellent - this is the real forte of Les Trois Rois. The dry cleaning quality is extremely poor (I requested two ties to be dry-cleaned - and they were returned to me completely destroyed).
Absolutely 1st class hotel. You really feel like you're back in the 1900's. Stunning renovation of classic architecture.
Great location with a great view on the city and the Rhine river; friendly and mindful staff. The gourmet restaurant "Cheval blanc" deserves a special mention.
magnificant atmosphere! Great service axcept a little more effort in cleaning could make this hotel one of the best I ever been in
Lighting The service at the bar
Liked the ambiance and the staff was outstanding There was nothing not to like at this hotel
The view of the dining-room and the lobby. The staff. I bought un spacious double bedroom and they wanted to impose a "garret"- room.
Location Hotel Staff !
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
There is no bar, no restaurant and no coffee machine in the room. So if you come back to your room and want a coffee or a sandwich. Forget it. This place is a glorified B&B and I would avoid you to go elsewhere.
Location, comfortable beds, shower Size of the room, lack of storage space, inadequate breakfast for the price, understaffed in food area, nowhere to hang towels in bathroom, poor lighting.
Excellent location. Walking distance to Maktplatz, Spalentor, Barfuesserplatz etc. The only issue would be lack of tea & coffee making facilities in the room; also it was not possible to order tea/coffee although the staff did lend us a kettle!!
Smart hotel, great prices and location. not brilliantly designed... form over function - room lighting and breakfast bar both need rethinking.
Friendly and attentive staff, great location, excellent breakfast Noise from the restaurant carried to my room
The view of the Rhine and old town is lovely from the upper front rooms.Nice oldy worldy feel to the place yet very modern features too.The food here is also excellent, bit pricey though...bestfor a special occassion.
not much parking; they told me to park in a garage but didn't tell me that it doesn't open up early am so I couild get to the airport. It was also dark in the am and I had to walk there alone and walk up the driving portion of the garage (hauling my luggage) since the doors were not open. The room was small and not a good value for the money. I was on the 3rd or 4th floor and there were doors slightly ajar to some dark room that had what in it I don't know. There were also dark spots that looked like smoke above one of the lights that was concerning. The food options for dinner were not good.
The Hotel staff were courteous and helpful during my short stay. In addition the location was very quiet for a central location. None
River view was the most charming part of our stay. The food was excellent two. Staff was very delibrate and helpful.
The floors creaked so badly that it was not only disturbing to me but probably a nightmare for those who stayed below me.
The staff was very friendly and helpful; the breakfast was very good, and the wait staff was prompt and courteous; housekeeping was excellent; the water, tea service, and fruit on each floor was a nice extra. The room was very small (I had a single); the street is noisy, more so at night with the music and the people in the cafe/bar across from the hotel.
We liked the out look from the Riverside room which was very comfortable and a very good size. Free access to the Internet was a bonus. Our only concern was the smell of smoke from the smoking room did invade the general hotel environs.
Hotel is perfectly situated for city walks, nice view from restaurant.
The hotel was not a typical chain hotel - it had individual character and warmth and provided a relaxing atmosphere very close to the centre of Basel.
Rooms were spacious for European standards and very nice bathroom. Comfortable beds. I guess beinging an American and addicted to tv. I missed it. We did not spend that much timein the room so it turned out ok. Funny how you become additiced to something minor.
Very simplistic. Cheap furniture
Hotel very well located in central Basel. Restaurant pleasant and food OK Restaurant slightly overpriced for what it is
Very helpful and courteous staff, good location
It's central location, spacey room and friendliness of the staff (also towards our youngest member).
The ambience and closeness to the hisoric area, river and city. The 92 stairs to the top but without them, you miss so much.
Well designed. Original.
the location of the hotel the bed - too small - and we had to order the tv
the room was extremely simply furnished, extremely hot and facing the court where customers of the restaurant could be heard ! until after 1am and the staff started to prepare the tables for breakfast at 5 am. A lot of money for no sleep at all
1. Entirely clean. 2. Great view of the Museum of History and the little square in front of it. (At least from my room.) 3. Good location with pedestrian streets & many shops; just a few tram stops from main train station. 4. Staff are friendly; they are there mostly for the restaurant, but they try to be helpful. 5. If you must stay in Basel, there is no real reason to not stay here. It is simple but it works fine with no major issues. 1. About 150% overpriced, as is most everything in Switzerland, 2. WiFi was very weak in the room (about 35%); I often had to go into the hallway to get webpages to load. 3. Only 1 male toilet on the floor, which means that sooner or later you will wait or have to go to another floor. 4. Mattress was a bit too firm. 5. Cleaning staff only there in the morning, so if you sleep in until noon, your room will not be cleaned. 6. The office is closed on Sunday, making it impossible to print out anything on that day. 7. The kind of place that has to put an ashtray in the WC, because if they did not, guests would create burn stains on the top of the toilet paper dispenser by leaving their lit cigs there while wiping their butts.
