It is a very nice hotel with tasteful decoration and an excellent location.
Very centrally located. Building is about 400 years old yet fully up to date. Only 2 outlets in entire room. Lots of traffic on surrounding streets.
Hotel, its location and staff. Nice terrace on the plaza.
Too much for the service and everything is overpriced, ive stayed at luxury hotels and this one just doesnt cut it, we showed up and had to wait 3 hours for our room to be ready and when we got it, it was dirty, the coffee cups had rings in them, it smelled weird and it TOTALLY WASNT THE TYPE OF ROOM THAT MELIAS WEBSITE SAID IT WOULD BE. it was very small, kind of like a la quinta inn room(thats a better deal) the one thing that saved it was it location. it just minutes from everything! that is the only reason that i would stay here again, but for cheaper right across the street is hotel fontain. another upside is that we got to share elevator with some famus people(national and international) but thats it.
We stayed at HI Express in Morelia because we were flying out at 5:30 Am the next morning and wanted to get within 30 minutes of the airport. ( The hotel is actually 20 minutes and 250 pesos by friendly taxi.) The hotel combines what I love about American hotels with a touch of Mexican style. What I love; Well spaced apart rooms, king size beds with soft pillows and clean sheets, hot water 24/7 and good towels.\nThe front desk service was not so hot, our recommendation on the time to take the taxi to the airport was off, we could not get a non-smoking room, it took them forever to answer the phone and our wake up call did not come.\nThe hotel is down the street from another Holiday Inn, and across the street from Plaza Americana. it took about 20 minutes to get to Morelia central by taxi.
it was very clean and staff was very friendly They wanted to charge me again for the two nights I stayed they said that they had not received payment from Priceline even though I showed them the itinerary via my phone it was not good enough ,it was a small headache at the end.
Friendly helpful staff Hotel permits volleyball game on the tennis court with people screaming until midnight
I liked that it was across from the convention center. It is about 1.4 miles away from the historic core, which is the more interesting part of the city. I did not like the beds, I could feel the coils. I had to call the maid service for face towels, and after she came by to clean, she removed them without replacing them. They also shut the water off to make repairs. There was noise form the work.
The location was at city centre with several cafe shops and sidewalk restaurants. Safe location of town. I was not pleased that it took almost an hour to get checked in because Priceline had not released the funds to the motel. The motel had our names and confirmation numbers, but no money from Priceline.
We liked that the hotel was centrally located in the historic district. The hotel was clean and maintained in fair condition. The walls and doors are very thin with no sound resistance. You get a rude awakening every morning at promptly 7:30am when the kitchen staff begin preparing the breakfast. (and we were on the 3rd floor and kitchen on ground!!)
The hotel staff is very helpful and answered emails promptly. They were able to reserve a taxi to pick me up from the airport and take me to airport as well at the end of my trip. The hotel restaurant food is very good but a bit slow. The complimentary breakfast is very delicious as well. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The courtyard garden is very beautiful and daily maintained. The location is great. It is very close to an atm, the cathedral, the downtown shops and it's very convenient for catching a taxi. Our room was very nice but it was next to the cleaning staff room so their noise would wake me in the morning. Not a big deal, but if you want to sleep in make sure you get a room in a quieter spot.
