Great experience, the reviews lead me astray but I'm overall satisfied with my hotel choice. Enjoyed the amenities. Disappointed that the hot tub wasn't hot, or even warm. The knob was on, but no jets. Sad, because I only booked this place for the hot tub and for the decent price.
Very professional and friendly staff.
Staff was friendly. Orbitz booked me for two rooms (only wanted to book one, only got confirmation about one), but the front desk upon check in cancelled the second one with no problems. The hotel is right along the highway, and the windows did nothing to block out the sound of the cars. The real kicker was the internet didn't work the entire time i was there. I was there for a conference at UC Davis and needed internet to for work in the evenings. Couldn't maintain a connection, front desk offered no solutions. The coffee maker was broken (missing a piece) and the rooms were very dark.
Staff was very pleasant and helpful
The room was very nice. Did not like being located on the side of the hotel facing the very busy highway. Did not like that the huge touring group with tons of children were screaming, yelling and running around the pool deck when I arrived at 9:30pm. I think the staff should be on top of noise level when it is excessive, no matter what time of the day it is.
Bed was firm and comfortable Ordering online we were not warned that we were booking a smoking room. We were given the room without warning and when we discovered how badly the room smelled, the front desk said it was the only room available. The room reeked of smoke and we work up constantly all night long from the smell. I have asthma and had to use my inhaler several times the next day to calm my coughing. The hotel was too noisy to keep the window open and that barely did anything about the smell. I will never stay there again and I do not trust last minute bookings on price line now. The only purpose of booking the room was to get some sleep before driving the next 2 hours home and we were barely able to do that. We may have each gotten 2 hours sleep over the course of the night.
Large suite. Clean. In down-town. Breakfast ok. Friendly staff. Good location (next to the river). Charging for parking was unexpected. Steep WiFi charges also unexpected when it is free in almost all hotels and coffee shops. very disappointed in this nickel and dime strategy. Especially, when they charge nearly 50% over nearest comparable hotel, this is very user unfriendly. Air-condition/heating unit made noise throughout the night. That vent could have been kept away from the bed room.
Lots of families great continental breakfast with lots of fresh healthy choices very impressed. Pool was a lot smaller than it looks in the pictures.Super close to old Sacramento which is right across the street with train rides horse & buggy etc $30 for Parking on top of $230 a night should be free if not cheaper.... Size of pool & parking charges were steep
Easily reached. Great pillows. Fee for wifi. Air condition kept noisily turning off and on all night
The central location and the great complimentary breakfast. The fact that they charge for their internet (for each computer connection) and I choose hotels based on internet accessibility for business.
The staff and services were top notch. The rooms were clean with the exception a stain on the sofa. Terrific shower and design of room. Mirror on the back of the bathroom door, so that you are looking at yourself while using the toilet. Beds were extremely film. Unfortunately it did impact how we rested.
The staff was friendly. The room keys did not work. Each time we had to go into our room the staff had to let us in with their master key. They were going to relocate us to another room, but it was too much of a hassle for us to move all of our stuff.
The room was a good size They didnt want to give us an extra blanket, extra pillow, extra nothing. We stayed 3 days and they only gave us one roll of toilet Paper. When we asked for more they said they ran out and they're trying to get more.. I will never stay here again.
Layout of room was fine Toilet barely worked. Door to bathroom was broken. Floor was dirty. Cabinets were old and worn.
the facility was clean and nice. The staff was friendly but not proactive enought. Our air conditioning unit was broken the moment we walked in. They fixed it, but it broke again in the middle of the night (1am) and they had to send another technician to fix it. We told the staff and they barely said sorry.
Location Pool and spa broken no warning this is a big reason we stayed there also cable did not have playoff games
Staff were friendly and accommodating at all times. Clean hotel and quiet throughout my stay!
Over priced and not very clean
I stay in sacramento a lot and had always wanted to try this. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. I had dinner at the Bar and their complimentary breakfast, both were good. I also slept well. I would stay here again if I were to bring my son on a business trip, as I know he would enjoy the boat. Other than that, I would prefer a normal hotel in the future. The facility is a little dated. Not just the classic decor of the boat but the decor in the room etc. the room that I was in was very small as was to be expected. The boat is a little noisy - you can hear people walking out side of your room and the walls are thin. I could hear the people in the room next to me.
It was a working River Boat +70 yrs ago and has been converted to a first class hotel. Locations and ambiance are wonderful. Woke up in the morning to geese swimming outside our bedroom window, not downtown city/traffic noises! Bathroom needed some TLC work.
The location Rooms to small for $147.+20 for vallet that was slow to return car. We stayed on 3rd deck, not a good choice.reception phone was loud waking us up. Last year we paid $220.00 for 4th deck, it was better, but way over priced. Next time i will try embassy suites.
This is my second overnight stay on the Delta King. Love the atmosphere, good food, friendly staff, the price is right, and I've always slept well on the water. Fifteen years ago my family celebrated our son's eighteenth birthday with an evening at a Delta King Murder Mystery dinner.
The photo on hotel.com was not the room I received at all. The room was extremely small and a full sized bed, not a queen. Overall it was quaint, adorable, and perfect for me. If it had been a night with my husband, I'm not sure we would fit.
We liked everything Including the complementary breakfast.
Historic facility. Very friendly staff. Rooms were a little tight and cramped.
The hotel was kind of cool and different. The parking was kind of a mess due to Labor day events and the parking lot staff didn't know anything about hotel parking, just kept telling us to move along. We did follow the parking instructions exactly.
Very unique stay on a restored paddle boat. The restaurant and bar were very nice and food was good. The rooms were small but comfortable. It is a boat so everything is small and tight. The ambiance was quaint and wonderful. The outside deck was very nice by the bar overlooking the river. Old Sacramento is right there with many little shops, bars and restaurants. You can walk to the Capital Mall also. There wasn't much to not like. Just be careful if you are tall like my husband. The ceilings and doors in the cabins are short. He hit his head a few times before he learned to duck! Also if you are a light sleeper being ear plugs as the train tracks are close by and the trains go through several times a night.
Breakfast voucher was a nice touch.
Apple and Chris at the front desk were wonderful. Very professional and yet warm at the same time. Top notch staff across the board!
I chose the Delta King because of its unique charm. I loved that it was in Old Sacramento which has cute stores, cobblestone streets, and old west buildings. As I crossed the cobblestone street and wooden platform railroad tracks to get to the boat I felt like I was going back in time. I was so excited because I love things that are off the beaten path. I loved all the charming details from the lamps to the faucet knobs, everything was antique. The room was smaller than the pictures let on but cozy. The city view stateroom pictured had a desk, which I was excited about getting work done at. My room did not. The room was very dust and I am very allergic to dust. I checked in late so I tried to make it work. I ran my finger across the phone and the bed frame and they both had a thick layer of dust. The triple lamp over the bed did as well. I didn't sleep well because of the dust. I very nicely asked if someone could dust and change the sheets due to my allergies and the man at the desk seem to take it personally. When I came back later that day, they had made the bed, but not changed the sheets, even though I had left the "change the sheets" sign on the bed. The breakfast voucher is for a very specific breakfast off of their menu. If you want something else the voucher does not apply. Though they were very nice about my egg allergy and gave me yogurt as a substitute. Since the walkways are very narrow, people walk very close to the walls and thus it is very loud. Especially on the weekend when other people are drunkenly walking around the train station. Overall I love the idea, there are just some rough edged that really bring back life in the 1940s.
Everything, especially the breakfast bar. Nothing
Hard to find if you arrive late in and are in a rental car.
Cleanliness. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Good stock of food and beverages after hours. TV location at side of bed makes it hard to watch in bed. Bathroom exhaust CFM is not adequate. Wireless connection is slow.
It was close to stuff, and it was a decent price at the last minute. The staff were very friendly. The room was old, had been smoked in, and while clean, felt seedy. If I could avoid it, I probably wouldn't stay here again.
Very clean, looked recently remodeled.
Very clean and comfortable, great place for the price.
This Super 8 provided the bare minimum but was at a convenient location for the business I needed to do. Staff were friendly and courteous. They had wifi, but since it had no password, it was apparently overwhelmed with traffic and I never succeeded in accessing it. There was a bare bones breakfast. I've been to Super 8s with hot food like waffles or omelets, this one had only very basic bread and cold cereal. I generally go for Super 8 because it combines value with wifi and enough breakfast to feel ready for my day. Not having a password on your wifi so that it is overwhelmed...not great, not having either waffles or eggs, oh dear...just left me unhappy starting my day.
close to airport. poor front desk check in service (slow slow slow!), room had not been cleaned, next room had a missing door handle on the inside (hard to get out and hard to lock), whole hotel is old and tired. Other than proximity to airport, nothing to recommend about this place. Do yourself a favor, and don't bother!
The first room was a chain smoker room that was a non-smoking room, tht we had to ask for another. The TV was only a 17" tv, the towels were small and as rough as sandpaper and the room had mirrors for the head board and across the room, a little creepy.
quiet, nonsmoking, staff was attentive Rooms were old and out dated, the color was hideous, the bed hard, the continental breakfast was lacking, A/c units old and noisy.
Price, location were very good. One computer and printer available but monopolized by one guest.
I liked the location. I needed to be at the airport early. The beds were small, I think they were doubles, not queens. Looks like the bathroom could use a deep cleaning.
Nothing. Front desk was not helpful with coordinating shuttle . Pillows were the size of kleenex. Elevator smelled like a bong. Room smelled like an ashtray.
I liked that check out time was noon I thought there should have been wifi in the room
It was clean, roomy, and quite. Breakfast was crowded, but had good variety.
Early in the morning we were greeted by wild turkeys from across the field Carpets were clean but not up to my standards but I've stayed at many hotels and I'm always bringing my flip flops anyways
The room layout worked great. It provided a lot of room for the kids to play with their toys and then gave a separate space for sleeping with the kiddos on the sofa sleeper. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy. Convenient just off the freeway; Pizza place and Starbucks very close. Would definitely stay again. Not a great TV channel selection for young kids. The channel guide was incorrect. Pool area is slippery tile with puddles of water. Our 3 year old took a pretty good fall.
Good selection for breakfast with spacious rooms for families; very accomodating staff; close to old town. Noise from nearby airport; in an industrial area with minimal food sources nearby.
Nice comfortable bed, spacious room overall. Bathroom area was like something from a cheap hotel room.
Wanted a hotel that was reasonable in price but with the comforts of home and found this here. The pictures posted are exactly what you get. Very clean! The staff was friendly at the front desk -especially Usha who was very patient with me. My family really enjoyed their hot breakfast and indoor pool :)
Clean, comfortable and a great breakfast Everything was good.
I loved that the hotels location was in walking distance from the wedding I attended. Since it was so close and I was in an unfamiliar city this eased my mind. The staff was very friendly. The suite was spacious very clean and comfy. I loved the pillows so much I requested a late checkout. The best part was the continental breakfast because the eating area was large enough to accommodated many of the guest that attended the wedding.
We enjoyed that there were so many restaurants and attractions within walking distance (ie. Old Sac and the Capitol). The employees were very accommodating. Thank you for assisting us in our downtown getaway overnight.
Location. Easy walk to plenty of restaurants and entertainment.
The location was great! You could easily walk to Old Sacramento! Wish it would have had free breakfast! Valet parking was frequently full, but parking garage was very close.
This facility is located at the entry to Old Sacramento and next to the New Kings NBA arena which opens next year. Also, walking distance to the state capital, fabulous restaurants, Sutter's Fort, Crocker Art Museum, and other points of interest! Great staff! No mini fridge!
Location was very good. Proximity to Old Sacramento can't be beat. Easy downtown and Capitol access. Seem like nobody is walking around looking at stuff. Lots of details that need not be overlooked. Room was tired and many things didnt fit right, lots of patches but no fixes. Ready for renovation I think. Sometime during the night the A/C stopped working. Turned room into a boiling pot. Window are an option but noise is overwhelming even 10 floors up.
The proximity to shopping Mall. The food and drinks in the lounge were excellent. The staff as always were in a great frame of mind and went out of their way to assist you.
Valet and Front Desk were nice. Heard lots of people talking in the halls loudly and it smelled like smoke and I was in a non-smoking room
Only thing about this place is the location The lady working in the front desk. She was a mood killer and just being rude. She needs to have some manners and show customer service.
Location was ideal for the Sacramento Music Festival, staff was great, facilities were great. We had a room on the 10th floor on the side of the hotel closest to the nearby freeway. Traffic noise was an issue for us at night.
It was a very comfortable stay. I especially liked the complimentary popcorn!
My stay was brief (<24 hrs) but pleasant in every way and convenient to the airport
Great breakfast. Excellent staff, from front desk to housekeeping Love the 2 br suite for 3 people Like the option for the free pass at the natomas sportsclub Great pool and Jacuzzi, would like longer hours then 9pm Parking at 3am on Saturday, only 1 slot open and had 2 cars, had to go to front desk to find it via security camera and use the reservation parking space. Needmore secure parking spaces. Would like like dvd player for the Tv or obtain one from the front desk. Brought own from home. Would have liked happy hour on weekend, not just m-Wed. Would have liked longer breakfast hours till 10am. Better signage to get to hotel through mall parking lot. Don't put families with kids on second floor, lots of noise in the living area. Would like a penthouse suite at this location, one at Cal Expo.
The hotel was clean and the staff was excellent
breakfast and size of room was good Room was not totallly clean
The room was nice and clean. Nice appointments. Very comfortable. Large shower. The door on the bathroom was a slider and did not actually shut.
What an amazing historical hotel with a great downtown location. I would recommend this hotel and we'll be back.
Lots of issues with room - lights not working, TV issues upon arrival and "pat" answer from engineer (remote needs new battery which we knew wasn't the issue but a problem with cable company). First night dinner in "temp" restaurant horrible. Didn't charge for one meal but just no attention to detail, wrong order. Experience better when Joie property.
Made a reservation for 2 guest in a queen size room. Got there and checked in @7pm and was notified that I was upgraded to a king size room, big plus on their part! The room was cozy and comforting. It also includes a beautiful bar setup along with a wonderful street view. To be completely honest, the one thing I did not like was the shower. The rest of the room was was decorated and painted in its own style including the bathroom. But once you open the shower curtain all you see is plain, boring, tile. Both room and bathroom give off some bomb vibes, except the tile. Just kills the ambient. Other than my pity first world problem place was outstanding.
Sophisticated decor, helpful staff, "beautiful people" hot spot. The noise from both the street and partiers went on until 3 a.m. Motorcycle engines revving, police called on issues in the street, shouting and yelling in the street, all echoed right up to our 7th floor room.
The location and overall atmosphere of the Hotel. The young men out front need to be more attentive to outward appearance of hotel and guest service.
Staff was very friendly, the rooms beautiful.
The staff was great, well trained, accommodating and helpful The room was awful! It only had 2 tiny Windows, about 1'x2'. The mattress was old and soft, we kept slidding into the middle and did not get a good nights rest.
The hotel is beautiful and run very well. The rooms are cozy, well-decorated, and have great bathrooms. The location is also superb. The rooms are small, and the $25 valet parking is a rip-off.
Everything. Place was absolutely beautiful. Great job.
Good location. The room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and user friendly. The decor was elegant and tasteful. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. I would return. No.
Beautiful suite style rooms with a functional kitchen. Breakfast staff was rude.
Decent breakfast offerings. We like the suite concept with kitchen and amenities. Clean, comfortable. The workout facility was small but included three exercise machines, two treadmills and an elliptical that squeaked, wouldn't want to be in suite adjoining the gym. Only one machine had functioning television reception. Mentioned this to front desk, but it was on a weekend, and it wasn't addressed by the time we left Monday.
Cleanliness, quite, no pets, and close to the airport. Staff was very nice and attentive to any needs. All the gym equipment was "Out of Order."
Everything I needed was provided, including dinner! Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and the hotel was convenient to my flight out of SMF the next day. Staff was pleasant- especially the food staff. Nothing I did not like.
Convenient location for my purpose, quiet, clean and comfortable, amenities far exceeded my requirements for this stay, friendly and helpful staff
Hotel was grate staff grate. Location grate food and shopping close by waking distance to sleep Train arena. Highly recommended That I had to leave
beautiful room, very comfortable We had a handicapped accessible room which required going outside to get to the lobby and the breakfast.
Downtown location. Good valet parking service. No minibar
hotel staff there was no refrigerator; it cost to use wi fi; it was too expensive for one bed that was advertised as a double; it was noisy.
Clean, modern room Did not have free parking or WIFI
Great location. Walking distance to restaurants. Donut shops. Thrift store shopping everything. We stayed for an athletic event but had some time to do other stuff. Close to a 7 eleven if you need a quick snack and self parking was across the street but easy to get to. A lot of homeless in the area but there is nothing the hotel can do about that. Just be cautious when walking at night.
The Lobby, the Gym, the pool and the rooms are great. I also enjoyed the very friendly and helpful staff during the Sunday Brunch. Having to wait in line for 5 minutes for the elevator in my floor and up to 10 minutes in the lobby. There was a lot of people and the elevators took forever.
We attended a function in the downtown area and the location was perfect. Room key did not work initially, I called the front desk from a house phone and an employee checked my identification and opened the door, he returned a short while later with a new key.
Location and room Staff didn't seem to know the area. I had to go to a coffee shop to even know what neighborhood the hotel was in.
Clean rooms. The TV service is worst I have seen anywhere. Very basic service. A major basketball game is on ( Warriors ) and they did not have the channel, really! This is a business hotel in Sacramento. I go to the lobby bar and they have two flat screens circa 2005. Spend $1400 at Costco for two new flat screens. They missed the attention to detail that is required in this market. Will not stay there again.
Location. Cannot believe the room have no Internet connection included in the price.
The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were lovely. The reception staff were not very friendly or helpful. They didn't seem suited to the service industry. The concierges were very helpful and friendly.
I loved the room service breakfast. And how close it was to everything to do in downtown Sacramento. I had such a blast and everyone was pleasant and helpful during our stay. Definitely staying here again in the fire
Proximity to convention center, willingness of staff to accommodate requests
There was food Very cramped dinning space, couldn't push stroller very well there and also no scrambled eggs were available
The neighborhood didn't feel very friendly, and my room smelled very stale.
Cleanest room I have stayed at in a long time. Very close to midtown and plenty of goody spots. Year round open pool with solar heating. Plenty of free parking to boot!!! And the shower / amenities in the room have definitely been thought over when planning the comfort of the guest.
Staff were friendly, breakfast was good, good location with easy parking Our room had a musty smell to it, as if the shower curtain needed to be changed out. We got in at 2:00 am and left the next morning. Had it not been for the brevity of our stay, we probably would have asked for a different room.
Room was really nice, very clean. Bed was comfortable. The wifi was terrible, it cut out every couple of minutes. The water pressure was super weak, very hard t get clean.
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly - made us feel like they actually wanted us to be there. Breakfast was great; beds were excellent; bathrooms great . Fitness room was minimal.
Room very clean, nice attention to detail, bed very comfortable, good wifi. Love the indoor/outdoor feel of the hallways. Breakfast very processed and ho-hum. This was my third stay here and this time my window overlooked the light rail which was noisy early in the morning.
We stayed for a week-long conference at the convention center, which was three easy blocks walking distance away. The breakfast hours were convenient, and there was a wide selection of food, including waffles and biscuits and gravy. Comfortable beds, quiet rooms, and friendly staff all contributed to a pleasant stay. It was great to have a fridge and microwave in the room for storing and heating leftovers. The only bad thing I can think of to say is that there were some holes in the bedskirts that I noticed, and the sleep function on the TV remote didn't work.
I could walk to my event down town and I could walk to the capitals as well Amenities fairly limited, the wifi was very poor in my room. Download speed about 5MB/Sec upload speed less than 1 MB/Sec
Beautiful view!!!! hard to get regulated the hot water, thin walls, very loud and you can hear every conversations even the cell phone from all rooms no only your neighbors
Loved every moment. Staff was very welcoming. Definitely will consider staying there again. No complaints
Staff were very nice. Location is excellent. Room was dusty and had finger prints in the bathroom. There was a long black hair in the bed.
Our first room had blood on the walls. We then moved rooms only to be placed in a room that wasn't cleaned. When we were moved again our room was still dirty but by then we had missed our original plans we had made. We stayed in the third room. The only thing the hotel did was remove a parking charge (which feels like something that should be free for guests anyway). Upon checking out a staff person made a very inappropriate drug related joke to my partner that made us both uncomfortable. When trying to order food from the bar I enquired about the cooking oil as I have food allergies and the staff said she didn't know and refused to find out what was used. I felt very uncomfortable, unsafe and dirty the entire trip. Definitely will not be staying at the Hyatt again.
Upon check-in, we were given a room that was still occupied. The following morning someone walked into our room while we were sleeping.
Breakfast was not included
I was there with 3 young children. Very courteous and helpful staff. Pool was perfect for the kids. Breakfast was good, fast and reasonably priced. The hotel is clean and quiet hours were respected. We were there for a reception on the 15th floor which was also fantastic.
