It was conveniently situated a short walk from the ferry terminal. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful, and calculated my bill in Argentine pesos and Brazilian Reais with difficulty but willingly. Breakfast was fine - decent orange juice, a selection of breads/rolls, and decent coffee. The room was internal, had no window, and was right next to reception so it was noisy. I use earplugs in hotels anyway, so I was ok for two nights. But it was very expensive compared with my room in Buenos Aires, which was excellent and only 60% of the price. But that, I understand, is Colonia, which is ridiculously overpriced, a real tourist trap.
The location is within 20 minute walk to the historic district. Clean. There is an indoor and outdoor pool on the property. You are tucked away from people. Has a lot of room. Overflow hotel. Very bland "Highway INN" type rooms. No local flavor, overstaffed with staff that doesn't appear to want to actually do work. Way overpriced as hotels in town charge the same for beautiful grounds and classic architecture.
The lobby and all common areas had modern stylings. The rooms themselves were all required and also updated style-wise. I loved the waterfall shower. The comforter on the bed was not clean and had stains. There is no gym or health club. As it was winter during my stay, I did not use the pool, but it looked very small.
Close to the beach and close to the old town The room was very small.
Location No speaking englisch hotel staff.
The staff was excellent, they spoke english and were very helpful. they had no rooms for saturday night, and made calls and checked internet for us to find a place to stay. Setting is very pretty, quiet and a lot of space
