Very nice and new hotel a bit far from the down town but there is a shulttle service every hour. Wide bathroom with jacuzzi Some little problems with plumbing in bathroom - the check out at ten o'clock in the morning
Helpful and honestly nice staff, with confortable facilities and a surprisingly beautiful swimming pool. We spend quite nice days there, going and comming from the glaciars. The only remarks are the tansfer timetables, without any late nor early one. There could be a room with games/entertainement, as it is far from town and there is cold outside, so you spend a lot of time at the hotel
The friendly staff and the Hotel facilities.
The location, the staff, the cleanliness and the lake view
The location, the staff, the cleanliness and the lake view the water of the pool was cold, so it was not possible to be used (what I believe is the most charming thing in the hotel)
cozy and nice hotel. don't expect any lake view though (it's all gone).
bread at the dinner, big window in the room, bathtub with hydromassage view is not like on pictures, we see no wonderfull lake but dirty pool; for ordinary good pillow you need to pay extra; long waiting time at restraung; brekfast is frugal; absence of internet in the room because of wrong network settings and in lobby it working rarely
the staff was excellent.helped us a lot with reccomendation for excursions. very noisy.
Every need has been anticipated and catered for, plus the restaurant serves the best bife de chirizo in all of Argentina, complete with salsa criolla and chimichurri. Even if you don't stay here, you have to try the beef. They forgot our airport transfer on arrival, but this was a very small blemish on an outstanding hotel experience.
Hotel interior design & furnishings; breakfast was excellent. Hotel staff friendly & helpful. Your website led us to beleive there was an airport & town shuttle service. This is not correct. The hotel charge for airport pickup was $10.00 more than the regular taxi fare. There was no shuttle to & from town. However, your description regarding distance from town is correct - 10 min. walk. But...mostly uphill. Not for the "faint of heart".
The hotel is nicely designed and decorated. The Bar is great, and the bar staff excellent. Breakfast was very nice, and the staff for breakfast helpful The front desk was not helpful. The person on staff was not able to answer questions, was often on the phone on private matters and not attending to the guests. Slow and unreliable and not informed to help guests.
excellent, friendly staff, modern luxrious nothing,
Really lovely hotel. Very modern with excellent facilities. Hotel staff were very friendly and responsive.
the hotel is not a good value for momey
Location / Value for money
This place was a real unexpected delight and helped make our trip to Patagonia one to remember
Tour of Glaciers Up hill in not attractive area above the town-but there is not much choice in the town
A bit tired and noisy. Once had a nice view but a new Hotel in front has blocked the view. OK value for money
staf was very good, room big and clean
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and assisted where possible. Jacuzzi worked well. Location- hotel was out of town, not what it said on internet. View blocked by hotel in front. Breakfast was poor with no cooked food. Rooms did not have tea/ coffee facilities or fridge with cold water (not allowed to drink from the taps. Insufficient TV channels.Swimming pool was closed for cleaning during our stay.
The swimming pool is small but nice and warm (bathtub temperature). There are better choices in Calafate! The Hotel is situated a little bit outside on a hill, but just behind another hotel. Therefore most of the rooms don't have a look-out to the beautiful landscape. We had a view to a dusty street. The hotel telefon and the hotel internet computer didn't work, hot water water was not available before 7 am, payment with credit card was not possible. Too expensive.
The staff was attentive, but that's about it. The location is not great, they don't accept credit cards, the internet wasn't working and the rooms are a little ratty
Beutifful View of the Laguna
the wonderful view of argentina lake from our room (not all the rooms have this view) We did not like the hotel. It looks poor. The rooms need redecoration. the carpet is dirty. the bathroom looks poor. We found a spider in our room. They did not change the sheets although we stayed there for 3 nights. The breakfast was poor and the food looked bad. I can continue and write bed things but I think tis is enough.
absolutely great location. if you stay for more than 2 nights, choose for lake view; it's worth it
Good service, Nice atmosphere, and a great view on the lake A lot of rubbish alongside the street towards the hotel
Large bedroom and bed, good location for visiting the glaciers. Friendly staff. Some of the fittings were a bit cheap for this class of hotel. Asked for a lake view on our booking months before we stayed. Can´t know for sure but looks like Booking.com clients don´t get the highest priority with this hotel.
Excellent view facing Lago Argentino, exquisite hotel architecture. Staff can be more helpful and the jacuzzi bath in our room (305) was not working.
prefect view of lake and sunset.this hotel outlook is very very cool!!
The hotel has a beautiful view, nicely appointed rooms, pleasant staff. It is in El Calafate, AR, which is a center for seeing glaciers and hiking, which is why we were there. The hotel is expensive. The breakfast is OK, but not great. The restaurant has a very limited dinner menu with mediocre quality of food preparation. I could not get the wireless internet to work in my room.
The Hotel was excellent. Very good and comprehensive breakfast included in the room rate. Superb views with excellent reliable and quick transfer system to and from the centre of Calafate. The only minor let down was the size of the swimming pool which was no more than a dipping / playing pool which felt crowded with more than 2 people in it
The stuff were very kind and helpfull A little thing: the swimming pool is very little. Nice for staying but too little to swim. Maybe it would be more correct to inform that fact in the internet.
The design was nice and the hotel shuttle was just perfect The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The computer service was not very convenient and only 2 of the 3 computers worked.
sevice and staff is very good except no air condition in the room
Very helpful, efficient and charming staff; Only used the dining room for breakfast but we did enjoy the room layout and the breakfast was excellent A little far out of town but the good bus schedule helped a lot
Warmness of the hospitality of the staff. Regular bus shuttle to the town was great as was the restaurant at the hotel.
hotel was in a good location overlooking Calafate. The rooms were good, we only had breakfast inthe hotel but that was good. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, even booking a tour for us the following day despite our late arrival.
Staff at Terrazas del Calafate were always very helpful, and it is such a relaxing place with fantastic views!! and food it is just amazing, much better than any restaurant in Calafate
Lovely room with king size bed, good ensuite bathroom. The is a lounge area with a great view over Lago Argentina where it is nice to relax after a day out. Hotel not yet fgully open (top floor not in use). It is a good 20 minutes walk from Calafate centre.
The hotel is part of an old estancia, though it is now in the city of El Calafate. It has beautiful grounds and is quite charming. The staff was wonderful. The rooms are a little dated. The carpets need to be deep-cleaned or replaced. If you're walking, it is about 15 minutes to the city's restaurants.
The common space provided excellent viewing of the lake and surrounding mountains. The sound proofing was minimal. Conversations in the next room could be heard easily.
Beautiful building, straight out of Grand Designs, with eco materials and massive front windows. Fantastic view onto the lagoon and mountains. Very very comfortable bed. Very helpful staff. Great place to chill. Was a bit surprised at the distance from the town(2.5 km), which wasn't clear on the website, but that wasn't a problem for us as we walk a lot. It's an easy 25 minute walk around the lake, or $12 for a cab at night. Appreciated the quietness... Also not a problem for a female couple to share a bed so gay friendly too.
Staff was very helpful. Clean. On the edge of town which we liked because it was quietier. Also had a beautiful view of the water from our room. On the way to the glaciers. A little difficult to find. Signs are not great. No street signs. The hotel is up the hill and there isn't a sign on the main road to find it.
The view. The service of the owners was very very bad, I'm not lying. It was terrible, the worst service ever. I will not recommend this hotel for no body. Go to another hotel, don't go to this one you will get robbed by the owners.
Wonderful, well decorated splendid view and the staff is just really nice and helpful A little far from the center but with only 12 peso of remis you can reach it.
Hotel was clean, in a beautiful location over looking the bay. Breakfast was acceptable and staff very helpful. Make sure that you bring cash, no credit card accepted to pay your bill. You also can't enjoy a drink in the beautiful lounge area unless you buy it from them, so leave your bottle of wine in your room.
We liked the nearby(walking distance) to the horseriding excursions and also the walking potential around Lake Argentina. The desk staff was very informative and helpful all the time. No, very pleasant
Staff was friendly and very helpful, beautiful outdoor areas and common areas, great breakfast. Far from city center, but the shuttle service every half hour made this a non-issue.
nice hotel, good service, clean, comfortable, helpfull staff, decent price, good deal.
clean, comfortable, nice staff
Nice hotel, clean and quiet (if you get used to the wind), friendly hotel staff. Shuttle service from hotel to town with irregular hours. Too far to go by foot.
Staff friendliness, luxury look and feel, convenient bar and shuttle service. Very pleasant stay and nice to sit out back and look at the lake. Only thought on opportunities is something they can't change which is the room size. While more than adequate, we recently stayed in a hotel with jumbo size rooms that really made us feel special
The manager was very nice.Very good breakfast When we arrived the room was not clean and we did not have a double or Queen Bed.The next morning I spoke to the manager and when we came back in the afternoon the room was very clean and we had a nice Queen Bed for the other 3 nights We we're very pleased that our complaint had been heard
Room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Staff were helpful and friendly. Easy internet access. Daily shuttles to and from town. Restrooms had bidets! Great water pressure. Found it hot and stuffy. Had to turn off heat and open windows. Eggs too dry for breakfast. Otherwise breakfast buffet adequate. Lots of bread and pastries. No gym or pool or extras that you would expect from a four star hotel. Fridge didn't work.
We went walking and ate in wonderful resturants and saw the sights. They did not have room service even though they said they did and did not provide transfers to the airport.
The breakfast is disappointing, all products, from jam to coffee and cereals, seem of poor quality.
Excellent hotel, great rooms, friendly staff, free shuttle van from/to downtown, good rates too. Amazing view of the Lake Argentino from my window. Recomend it for sure.
Nice staff, big rooms with plenty of space, comfort Too hot in the room we had to turn off the AC and only after 2 nights the temperature was ok
Excellent hotel in the small town El Calafate. Very clean and nice decorated room with beautiful Lake view. The Hotel Staff is professional and willing to help at anytime. The breakfast was perfect and the rooms has good WiFi connection. Nice recreation areas. If you want to be close, at a walking distance, to the village you will not be disappointed.
Good value, well located. Decently clean and helpful staff.
Cannot be faulted. Very helpful staff, English speaking reception.
well staffed and willing to help it has two kind of rooms standard ones the (new) section and a substandard (old) secttion
I enjoyed a lot. The hotel was very comfortable, staff really nice and helpfull Nothing to dislike
The insulation between the rooms is really too light.
Friendly staff, nice large rooms, stunning views of the lake & mountains. Overall a lovely hotel Our only disappointment was we didn't think the takeout lunch boxes were up to par!
Hotel was good Value For Money. - Argentinian Restaurant was especially Good For food and Value. - Location was also ok.Overall - Good Needs a Pool or Spa
The hotel is one of the nicest in el calafate and within walking distance of the town.
Staff is excellent; helpful and supporting. The room was tidy and clean. Excellent value for money. The hotel is not located near the main street of Calafate however a 10/15 min walk and you will be in centre. With no doubt will book this hotel again if returning to Calafate.
Location is is 10 minutes from the center and it is on a small hill, so it is sometime anoying...
Good value for the money. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, good bathroom (awesome water pressure). Helpful in providing information regarding the area prior to our arrival. The trips we had asked to be booked prior to arrival were not, so we didn't get the time we wanted, but were able to join another excursion. Breakfast was underwhelming (bread, pastries, ham, cheese and canned fruit cocktail that seemed to have turned), sketchy wireless which is advertised as throughout the hosteria, but really only available in the common area and has inconsistent connectivity.
Really great hotel (position, service, food) for very attractive price. Must stay if being in El Calafate.
Staff very attentive and very pleasent. value for money, Signage to find hotel. Did not prewarn that they give 10% discount for cash. And wi fi did not work.
the beautiful views over the lake, mountains, birdlife from the lake, peace quiet tranquility and really great staff guest must be prepared to have dinner in the town which is a 5 min taxi ride away or 20 minute walk but no hotel in the town has views of the lake and mountains so it's a compromise worth making
relaxed, hotel with very friendly staff do not have them do your laundry it will cost you a fortune, also the bottle of water will be charged... :(
The people tending the hotel are very friendly, we felt welcome and looked after. Beware it can be quite cold in El Calafate, but they have placed auxillerary heater in the rooms compensating for this fact. All in all a great stay, we would recommend it to anyone!
The staff were rude and misinformed us regarding tours of the area. they charged excessively for items. I would not stay here again.
The trainee working in the hosteria speaks english very well and as she lives in Buenos Aires she was very enthousiastic to tell us a lot about this city and offered help to sort things out if we needed. Rooms are fine and clean. Be aware that the hosteria is about a 30 mins walk from the center. The view however is lovely. Taxi to the center was 11-15 pesos (approx.3 euro).
The beds and linen were the best we had slept in in a long long time. The staff were really helpful, especially AJ. Very close to main centre. Awesome view of lake
friendly & helpful staff. the chef made very good meals. Would like expanded hours for the shuttle service. The hotel is too far to walk to downtown.
The hotel was excellent. The staff wonderful. I had problems with my web check in with Lan Chile, and they helped me even though it was not their matter. The hotel was very nice, warm, well decorated, the room had lots of space and view of the lake and mountains. Also a nice lobby plenty of La Patagonia books. The breakfast was incredible, in quality and quantity. The hotel also has a nice deck outside to enjoy a beer at night or breakfast in the morning. Even though it`s not the better located, they have a free shuttle or a hotel car, and it`s not so far from downtown. Ideal for young or mature couples, for solo travellers, and even business trips. I totally recommend it.
Frendly English speaking personal, enjoyable ambience and good quality of breakfast buffet. Depends on your expectations - location of the hotel is not directly in the city center, but close to the seafront (under construction). Good transport services to excursions are given.
The room was clean and decorated in a nice way lack of the minibar and a kettle in the room
Ladies working in the reception were very nice and helpful portions at the restaurant were very small for the price
We loved Carolina, at the front desk! She was awesome! The waiter at the restaurant was very nice. The hotel is very quite, peaceful. The sorroundings are woods and is next to the main street. Easy to get in and out.
The staff of the Hosteria speaks good English and provides an out of the ordinary service: eg making breakfast at 5.30 when I had to leave very early to go on a trip.Cauqunes De Nimez provides a very warm and genuine hospitality. The rooms are spacious, very clean and the bathroom had a bath and shower and plenty of hot water. The view from the dining room and the rooms on the first floor over the Argentina Lake and the laguna is great (flamingos included) The menu choice is the same every day, so if you stay for several days you have to go out to eat, which is not a problem: El Calafate "downtown" is only a 15 min walk away.
The staff was very kind, and the facilities were new and comfortable. credit card s not accepted; poor location; wif not available everywhere even if it said so on the website.
staff very helpful and polite The room is really too small, there isn't any space even for the luggage. the breakfast is very poor.
It is a delightful small hotel. The staff are lovely and very willing to help, especially if asked! Breakfast is more than adequate. Other services: packed lunch, bottled water, beer are available if you ask. You can also have a free hair dryer upon request. Highly recommended.
The hotel represented excellent value for money. The rooms were large & comfortable. Staff very friendly & helpful. TV could be upgraded.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice view of Lago Argentino.
The hotel was quiet, clean and very very comfortable. It is run by a family who cares a lot about the guests, their comfort and well being. During our stay we also had a personal problem and the hotel managers truly went out of their way to help us and did everything they could. Highly recommended!
the landlady was extremely helpful a little far to walk to the centre of town. no bikes for rent.
Excellent clean family run hotel. Friendly staff, great spacious room. It's a 15 minute walk from the centre so a little out of town. Also breakfast was just croissants.
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable and we had a view of the mountains You couldn't use wi-fi in the room but had to go in the central areas and the maid put all our belongings away in all the cupboards I prefer it if they just make the bed!
The room was very clean and confortable. Owners are very nice and very helpfull. Even after we left the hotel for the airport, we had trouble with a taxi giving us false money as change and the owner of the hotel helped us to resolve the situation. She did not have to do this....but she did and it was more then appreciated. We enjoyed our stay, we had fun and we would go back there for sure. I think the breakfast was a little poor. Owner could charge few dollars more on the room fees and add fruit (ex. bananas) and cereal to breakfast. I would suggest owners to put some music in the common areas as I think it was a little too quiet. Otherwise, everything was good.
The owners of the hotel are very friendly and try there best gests to fell like at home.
Hotel staff were nice and friendly
