Friendly and helpful staff. Close to pier, shopping, restaurants, and anything you would need really. Nice clean rooms. Large bathroom. Beautiful pool. Wifi reception was poor in the rooms.
We wanted to be able to relax and unwind at our first destination in Australia, this was definitely the place, the pool was very relaxing and the sunrise on the marina side was breathtaking. They had our room ready and allowed us to check in early. They also had complementary champagne and chocolates upon arrival. They also upgraded our room to a higher level so we had a better view of the bay. The location is with in walking distance to everything, including the ferries at the marina. All in all one of the best parts of our stay was the staff, they were all so welcoming, accommodating and extremely pleasant (esp Kelly and Luke!). I would definitely stay here again. pool furniture showed some signs of wear.
Amazing location walking distance from the harbor with many shops and restaurants within the same complex. Luxurious and modern rooms without feeling pretentious. Breakfast service was $20 and most of the buffet choices were unappetizing; the omelettes and French toast prepared on request by the chef were pretty good but overall there are likely better options around Cairns. The pool was really nice but closed unusually at 8pm.
During our stay the towel was not very clean coz I saw three times the hair in the towel.
Very disappointing hotel more like 2 stars. Very old not Kleenex bad service. Value for money zero. Don't stay here!!!!!
The proximity to the harbor, the restaurants and the facility was top notch. We loved our stay.
The staff were awesome; generally very friendly This hotel is not representative of the Shangri-La group, and I struggle to see how it maitains a 5-star rating. The showerdid not drain properly, grit between the shower tiles is black in places, the fan is chipped, carpet stained, phone's "quick dial" buttons did not work, and the room is old and dated and sparsely furnished.
The lobby is gorgeous. There is elegant moulding throughout the rooms. Pool appeared large. Room service (spaghetti) serving was small but very delicious (and quick and they called back with a correction to a statement about their menu). I was able to check in early. Location is fantastic. They're next door to shops, grocery store, bar, and casino (including "The Dome"- indoor rainforest), and they're a small block away from the marina (where the reef boats take off from) and fantastic dining (the Pier area). This hotel is a good compromise for still having a nearly high-end experience but saving some money. By U.S. standards it would probably achieve a 3.5 star rating (Aussie ones run higher). Ac was off (set too high to be on) when I entered the room, so it smelled (I spent 1/2 an hour looking for signs of mold, but didn't see anything that suspicious). Eyelash on pillow, massive build up of soap scum/residue on ledge in shower/bathtub, tables unclean (sticky, food, marks), bathroom floor a bit sticky (but had had a good seemingly recent waxing, so it was very bright/pretty). The room overall was clean just not "that clean".
Well priced , clean, friendly staff appropriate for my needs although only a quick visit. Checking out was a little slow.
Great location, very beautiful rooms and bathrooms. Good management department who are very prompt.
Hotel delivers what it promises on its website. Palatial, well maintained, well serviced, well everything. Fantastic pool (and service at the pool). Nice rooms, excellent mattresses (you'll want to buy one after sleeping on one!), good views. I wish I could stay longer there :)
Spacious rooms The fee for having internet access is outrageous (29$/day); also, breakfast is not exactly cheap (25$).
Nice pool area, subject to the comment below. There are only two umbrellas on the entire pool deck which is a problem given the climate
Welcoming staff; comfortable and quiet room as per our request. Very pleasant ambience. This was our second stay and the improvement over the first visit in both physical facilities and staff friendliness was considerable. tNothing negative.
The location of the hotel was good, close to the sea and the marina but also close to the center and all shops, restaurants and activities. There was no pool bar open/available.
The pool was fantastic and the gym facility were great. Our entry cards kept failing - which meant plenty of trips to reception to get it sorted which was a bit of a pain - especially when we had to wait in line. Also - for the price of the rooms, they could update the television sets - they were a bit old and crappy.
Location was excellent, good helpful staff, good quality room & furnishings Did not like having to pay extra for Internet use.
Friendly and helpful staf, well appointed room with very comfortable bedf
The location was good and the staff were polite and helpful. The bathrooms are getting old and the roomservice was unable to supply a bottle of french chanpagne, when ordered
The upgrade to the refurbished room The pool set up was very average
Staff were great. Room was satisfactory. Location great.
excellent location with good room facilities and view. the restaurants are also reasonably priced and considerable quality.
I liked the welcome , helpful and friendly staff and the ambience I did not like that the bath tub in our room had a small chip on the rim.Maybe the maintenance staff were unaware of the damage.. It was a jarring note in otherwise comfortable and lovely accommodation
I enjoyed my stay at the Cairns Hilton. I found it comfortable and the service was very good.
Location. Friendly front desk staff.
A thoroughly good hotel - perfect location, brilliant staff and an exceptional breakfast! The pool is the largest I have seen in a hotel. We had caught a fish on a charter boat and the chef cooked it for us, with a delicious soup and salad accompanying it.
The view and the location in the central CBD. Rooms were too small.
The staff at the Mantra Esplanade really go above and beyond and the hotel is really a steal at the price we paid. Please do note that you'll probably have to buy your own internet!
I had more valued experience at Mantra Esplanade than I expected from impression I had from looking at your website.
For what I paid (obviously the price can vary), it was great - Perfect location, right on the Explanade Updated room (simple, comfortable, but updated) Balcony in the room with a view of the Esplanade This was fine with me, but there is no daily maid service. Must stay a week to get in complimentary
Great location, nice staff and big rooms. Room rates can be too high
The location was great, room was clean, comfortable bed shower stall needs work-water gets everywhere
Rooms are large. Beds are comfortable. During a weekend stay (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays) there is a lot of noise from outdoors music groups playing at a hotel next door, in the afternoons and evenings, which made it impossible to relax in the room at either of these times.
Modern, spacious & comfortable. Great view, great location, close to lots of great restaurants in the heart of Cairns. Everything was great, except for restaurant directly downstairs takes an eternity to bring out meals, shame because the menu was quite good! :(
We had a view of the harbour. It felt like we were in Europe. It was a great location. We had to ask the cleaning staff to wash our dirty dishes and to clean the room more thouroughly and earlier in the day.
We had a beautiful room with a beautiful harbour view. The staff was very friendly and helpfull.
A funky contemporary hotel, in a good location, with very helpful staff. Good health and fitness faciities. Very modern, spacious, clean and well kitted out rooms.
The 2 bedroom apartment was spacious & clean. Hotel front desk staff were friendly & efficient. Our stay wasn't long enough!!
Location The view on the marina -
comtemporary, convenient location, right at the pier. walking distance to the center of the town, restaurant. nice view and comfortable with the bay view room
Good location, close to city and waterfront.
Great location, nice facilities Internet expensive, no wireless
I liked the privacy nothing
The friendliness of the staff, Dundees restaurant was excellent the service was excellent, the room staff were excellent, we will certainly stay again. We walked everywhere. It is a top spot.
Central location, quiet inside, nice balcony, near lots of facilities.
my partner and myself liked the closeness to the shopping precint the staff was very friendly.
Close to our venue. Being charged $100 from our bank account but not being told this was going to happen. We just thought we were having a credit card imprint taken.
Nice sized comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Great location. There was a little mold/mildew on the shower curtain, possibly due to the hot/humid climate but the hotel should change those more often. Wifi is good quality but relatively expensive at $25/day. The front desk hours are only 8am - 6pm so that's a consideration as well.
Location - Lock up undercover parking - rooms good layout - not rundown - friendly service even we stood just one night, but it wont be our last one. .
Room size and facilities in the apartment. The location is excellent with respect to Cairns city center. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Il Palazzo is very well located in Cairns, close to restaurants, shopping and the Esplanade. It is quite despite its central location, clean and well appointed.
The hotel was clean comfortable and in a good location the staff were helpful and friendly we enjoyed it. the room smelled a bit fusty when we first got there but cleared after a couple of days
excellent location in the centre of town. helpful staff. Nice little pool which was never busy.
The rooms are comfortable and very well equipped. The location is excellent.
Friendly staff, clean and tidy, centrally located to shopping and restaurants, in hotel booking for excursions
Good location.. Great staff. Very tranquil room in the middle of the town . Spavious.clean Nothing to sais
Close to everything, clean, well appointed, nice helpful staff, and good value. A mixup with our bill upon leaving. We were charge for a cruise we had already paid for. We should have been reimbursed the full amount!
Very helpful and friendly staff, beautiful, spacious, quiet apartments in the centre of town, with everything you need including a washer/dryer - very handy when travelling! Would highly recommend to everyone.
everything...hot air ballooning at sunrise, whitewater rafting in the afternoon...bunjy jumping and snorkeling the reef...fun filled action packed trip. It was great ant the staff was extremely awesome!!!
The staff were amazing! Willing to help arrange tours and answer any questions about the city.
Very central location, free parking, friendly staff with tour booking facilities
helpful staff Apartment cleanliness. Need to pay attention
Efficiency - from the managers to the housekeeping staff. Provision of 2 TV sets is a great idea. The beds provided were rather worn out. They tend to sink in the middle, can be quite uncomfortable due to the lack of support
Self contained, central location
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very convenient to a local supermarket, shopping, restaurants and proximity to the waterfront esplanade. Night-time noise from nearby clubs and bars, even from a quieter room at the back of the hotel.
Spacious, self catering apartment accommodation. Centrally located in town and close to restaurants and sea front. Good value for money.
The room and the beds are quite big and comfortable. Meanwhile, the staff is quite helpful too. Hotel is located at the central of the city. Easy to get there. I think the cleanliness of the bathroom room is not good enough because it looks a bit dark and not well decorated. Meanwhile, there is a strong bad smell of my room and I think this is caused by the high hu midity and the wet carpet tiles on the floor. The homogeneous tiles outside the bathroom and the carpet tiles are always get water out during my stayed. Therefore, very bad smell occupied at all time and it made me not to sleep and live well.
I had 2 people coming to town , I asked for a two bedroom room and got a single bedroom with 2 beds , which meant the aoth rep had to also book a room - great for rydes -bad for me, had a been told that there was no double rooms I would have made other arrangments. The unfornate thing is the eccess has to come out of my wages...... Re" above...i was in town to present products to the group at rydes which your food and bev national manager had asked us to do , and the f&b manager in this hotel couldnt even reply to my call for an appointment and I was staying there......the room was very comforable
They put two single beds together as a queen size bed and I paid for a deluxe room. Was not happy at all!
The television and the channels available. The showers were very good and the location of the hotel was handy for what we needed to do. The staff on the reception desk were not very good. They didnt know where Barlow Park was they didnt know the hours of the chinese restaurant and neither did they bother to find out. They seemed very inexperienced for such a big hotel.
central location, friendly staff smelly aircon; swimming pool could not be used because of renovations, which we only discovered once we arrived
Nothing On arrival the hotel staff were very unhelpful and on arriving in our room we found it to be filthy with hairs around the room, cobwebs, dust, dirty windows, blood stained curtains and lip stick on the mirror. We requested to be moved and our next room was much the same. This hotel does not deserve the rating it has and we were very disappointed!
The staff were so pleasant and willing to offer places to visit.
None...expencive,no good service I want to stay a hotel. But I feel as backpacker.
Beds v comfortable. Parking was free. There was mould on the lamps and the bathroom floor was a bit dirty. Was really disappointed that Foxsport 3 was advertised in the in room info but was not available.
Courtesy and friendliness of staff
Staff are always great, no matter the request. Nil
checking out time!!
Quietness, breakfast arrangements, cleanliness Not much help (Except for one younger receptionist, Bobby?) when requesting information and details about the shuttle bus to the airport. Just told get a taxi
location! low water presure when taking shower.
The staff are phenomenal, they were the friendliest hotel staff I have ever dealt with. I am looking at going back next year and I will definitely stay there again. I loved that there were so many amenities within walking distance of the hotel and that the staff recommended some awesome tours. The swimming pool was nice to swim in and the lagoon was only 2 1/2 blocks away...the perfect place to spend the afternoon after a hard mornings touring or shopping... We were there for 13 nights, so the cleaning of the rooms was minimal. Garbage removal and clean towels every day, clean bedding every 3 days, but If we wanted the floors swept we had to do it ourselves.
The Hides Hotel is an old building with all the comfort of a well managed hotel. The continental breakfast (included in the room price!) is on the wonderful terrace with a look to the green plants of the place before.
Very quick and easy check in aswell as check out. Friendly staff. Cheap. No Carparks available. Didn't realise I had to book one.
I appreciated that I was given an upgrade free of charge and I found the staff to be excellent, the room very clean and the position of Hides allows easy access to other points of interest.
