Amazing place and excellent hotel. Warming people. Romantic and relaxing.
The grounds were the most beautiful on the island and the breakfast was good as a buffet can be. The guests would throw their hotel beach towel (one per guest--charge you if you loose it) on the beach chairs to "claim" them, even when they were not outside to use them. So there was never an open beach chair available. It was very annoying and is the main reason we won't stay again. The staff knows it is a problem--so why not put more chairs out? The only other problem was the 5:00 am staffer slamming the door to the utiity closet right outside our door....every morning
Location, all inclusive quality and price , space for kids to run around and the iguanas!. Also Luis from the midnight shift was amazingly helpful when my kid got sick and he took us to the doctor at 2am, waited for us and brought us back since there are no taxis at that time at night. customer service is not always their highest priority
Very beautiful and tasteful hotel. Friendly professional staff. Comfortable and quiet. The food was a bit bland. Also would have preferred to have the beach sitting area to be located closer to the water.
The peace and quiet of the location; no traffic, no light, no noise!!!!! Great place to just watch life go by on the beach without all the distraction of loud music and too many people. This is Mexico in the slow lane! Bring insect repellent for the sand flies on the beach that you can't see but really bite all over.
We love the design and location. I was really quite and peaceful. It had a great location and beach. We loved the room, it had a rustic island/Mediterranean feel and was clean. The staff was great. If you had a problem or a question the were right on the ball. The food was disappointing! To us as Americans we were hoping it would be a sit down restaurant with mexican food. Instead it is a buffet and there isn't hardly any Mexican food to speak of.
Holbox dream was right on the ocean with great views. It was a quite, relaxing and just a great place to enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of life. The location was only three blocks from the center of town via the beach, which was a beautiful walk by the way! The conch showers and sinks were a nice touch, the A/C worked great and the beer was cold!
Beach front ,open dining, great location , friendly staff Room not very welcoming, no art work , no coffee machine, just very plain. But for the price , it will do
The location on the beach is its saving grace. The service at the hotel was almost amusingly indifferent. The front desk staff were of no use for any questions (yet for some reason about ten of them lingered there). The hotel has different level rooms and my understanding is that third floor rooms are nice and private, but our second floor pool facing room almost felt like a hostel - we heard every move of our neighbors and of the entire hotel. There is zero privacy. The beach access is great but since the room has no beach view it almost makes more sense to book a nicer place a few blocks from the beach. The hotel is clean but definitely very basic.
What a gem by the emerald waters of the Yucatan. Small, quiet and lovely. The staff are kind and perfectly not overly attentive. If you want loud music, poolside service and to slurp down as many margaritas as possible this is not for you. If you want the dignity of getting up and walking 20 feet to get your own beer at the beachside bar - this is for you (and me). Delicious food. No reason to leave Palapas del Sol for anything except Whale Sharks. Ok, a bit of construction noise but people do have to work for a living so go take a walk on the white powder sand beach and chill.
This resort is absolutely beautiful and clean! Only a few feet away from the beach, the staff make you feel like you are part of the family. There's only 1 restaurant in this resort but the food is absolutely delish!!! Must try THE CEVICHE!
Nice clean, tidy and not too large Hotel / Resort. Great value for the money, too. Just a few meters to the beautiful beach and 5 minutes to the center of the village Holbox. Nothing for people looking for partying and entertainment (bar closes at 9pm !) The pool could have been less chilly.
The staff, the food in general, the a/c, the bed Missing a lot of little details to be a 3* likeNot enough space to hang cloths. No place to hang wet clothings. No bugs repellant when we learn after that the place is called moskito town. The curtain is so small we can see inside the rooms
i really liked the stylish of the bedroom and the gardens surrounding the pool lights in the bedroom were failing constantly. I was three days in the hotel and the pool was always dirty, with some debris floating around. The service in general was not good. And the most important thing, they did not want to respect the price marked in the web page www.booking.com, that was exhausting......but at the end i enjoy the Holbox island, is a great place, with awesome beaches and wonderful people, food was really exquisite.....
