I loved the rooms and fasilities, the view from the room, the atmosphere and the rooftop terrasse/pool/bar area 6 out of 7 nights the hotel had private arrangements on the rooftop terrasse/bar - which didnt allow the hotel guest to use the fascilities. I HATED THAT!!!! The rooftop terrasse/bar was one of the reasons for choosing this hotel, not being able to enjoy it was not very satisfactional. This should have been informed before arrival, or should have been given some alternatives to the guests that wanted to have a drink with a view.
Hyggelig personale. Fin design - men med begynnende slitasje på rommene. Vil snart kreve oppussing. Fin beliggenhet. Positiv stemning.
Liked the interiur, design hotel. Nice rooms. Nice view. Great roof-top terrasse. Clean. Friendly staff. Good restaurant for dinner/sushi. No automatic refill of minibar, should get refilled every day! Rooftop bar closed all day for the guests who wanted to use the pool. Rooftop pool quite small - only for "cooling down" - not for swimming. Rooftop bar not avliable for guests... 8 out of 10 evenings the hotel had private arrangements on the rooftop not giving the guests of the hotel access to the terrasse. No information given on this. Did not recieve shampoo/condition/soap every day. Small breakfast in restaurant.
Rooms needed to be dusted. Mini bar is electronic and not a refrigerator; DO NOT TOUCH or you will be charged.
Good location, helpful staff poor plumbing, below average food and very high cost of room service
It was so busy/ room service was 30 minutes later
very attentive staff and very positive feeling
good location, nice staff
My room was very nice and well maintained by the housekeeping staff. The front of house staff were also very cordial. Charging $12.95 per day for internet service is unreasonable, based on the room rate we were charged.
The staff was great and the room was very nice. The breakfast was terrific much better than expected for $1.Ut was a overall great experenice.
very helpful concierge. Decent location
Comfortable beds and attentive front desk staff. Some inattention to housekeeping in a room with a Murphy bed.
The location The price
good facilities;helpful staff had to request tea/coffee maker and a refrigerator coffee/milk supplies not replenished daily
Bra beliggenhet. OK komfort. OK/enkel standard.
Sentral beliggenhet. Parkeringen er ganske dyr. 150 kr. per døgn, og er obligatorisk.
The staff were very friendly and the hotel was beautiful. We'd definitely stay here again!
The hotel is a beautiful place with excellent finishes. Everything was in great condition and high quality. The rooms were small, which in understandable given the location, but this was a double bed room so it seemed even smaller.
Excellent service. I ask them if I could make my check in before 3 pm (the official hour) because I was going to arrive at 9 am, and they had my room ready for that hour.
Location Horribly overpriced
Amaizing service with very friendly staff Beds and pillows were amaizing
We were in a suite and it was spacious and nicely furnished. Most staff were nice. Great having a Starbucks in the lobby. Nice central location. The bathroom was small, especially the corner sink. There was no counter space. Front desk clerks were hit and miss. Some nice, some not. Concierge staff were great. The breakfast was OK, not great.
The staff Felt a bit hurried to finish our breakfast.
Comfort of the room Lack of phone service or free wifi.
The actual hotel was clean and updated, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the actual stay was great. Nice little happy hour offered at the bar. Valet parked my car for 1 night, and took it upon themselves to charge $50 to my credit card, plus a $17 convenience fee. No lot in the surrounding area exceeded $25 for overnight parking. I should have parked my own car. I feel that the hotel was nervy and rude to charge us double the going rate for parking - without notifying me. I felt taken advantage of, since we were already paying top dollar for a 1 night stay. The hotel was nice, but not that nice. I stay in DC all the time, but I may not return unless this problem is rectified.
I liked the late check out option. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was very clean. The front desk attempted to charge me for wifi even though my reservation included wifi. They expected me to pay or go out to use the public library in the common areas. After a visit back down to the front desk they provided me with an access code.
Good deal for the price Expensive car valet and shower heads were in need of repair. Water temp fluctuated too much. I spent more time adjusting it rather than showering
Very quiet, clean, love the bed!! Great shower Parking options,40 dollars for valet and limited alternatives
In DC near DuPont circle, but quiet on weekend days. Price of room offers decent value. Super expensive parking, $55/day. Not in the heart of the action in DC.
Location The staff (including management) did not respond adequately to their system being down during check in. Problems like that are expected but management did not issue an apology to all guests waiting in line for 30+ minutes and did not show the urgency to find an alternate way to check in all the guests affected by the hotel's system outage.
60 dollars for valet parking no other option
Overall the property was excellent! A foul order in ventilation system.
The beds are remarkably comfortable. The staff is affable and efficient. My wife left her jewelry in the room. We called once we were home and spoke to Doris. She found the jewelry and called us back right away and will mail the jewelry to us. OVERALL 5 STARS.
Very Clean Comfortable beds
Good customer service Very expensive hotel. The movies in the rooms are 20$ each. No HBO or any good channels really. Restaurant in the hotel is outrageously expensive (making room service also very expensive). 10$ for bowl of cereal, 25$ for shorts tack of pancakes. Food is really bad too. Like surprisingly very bad. Soggy fries, Bad salads, sandwiches, pizzas
Valet parking was extremely slow and expensive
no self-parking. valet parking only. when I tried to do valet parking, they didn't allow me to do it.
I like the location, the staff was polite, etc. The bathroom floor was dirty. The floor needs cleaning. Requested a small refrigerator and the next day my food was no good. Chemicals in the fridge. The wifi didn't work, however, the price was waived and I was able to go to the T room to do urgent work.
Excellent location: within walking distance of Metro stops &, even better for me, across the street from a Bike Share station. Staff were polite, helpful, and professional. Worth every cent I spent. Happy medium between really expensive places right next to the monuments and less expensive places that were farther away. The room was smaller than I expected but adequate for my needs.
The staff was very friendly. The price was fairly cheap for the location. The wifi didn't work and charged $12/day. Heat and lights didn't work. Bed bugs. Expensive parking.
I used to work near Scott Circle so this was convenient for me to go visit friends. No choice as to heat or a/c in the room...which is a nightmare during in-between seasons. My room was too warm and there was nothing I could do about it. Ugh. Also, $41 for valet parking is nothing short of highway robbery. Finally, female front desk clerk needs to add "smiling" to her repertoire.
Amazing breakfast. (We got free breakfast vouchers when we booked our room). Comfy bed. Convenient central location. Asked for a fridge, never got one. Had to have the shower repaired because it wouldn't get hot. TV had really bad reception and very few channels.
It was comfortable and walking distance to resteraunts and attractions
It's in a good location just north of the heart of Washington DC. I was in town for 6 nights for a SHRM conference and this hotel was very disappointing. Why is it that more expensive hotels charge extra for wifi while it's free at lower-end hotels? An extra $15/day for wifi. Ridiculous! They were a little stingy with the towels--I only had 2 bath towels in my room. Most hotels provide 3 as standard. The bathroom was small and laid out oddly. The toilet was against the same wall as the bathroom door, facing the sink, and was very close, so getting up was a little awkward. The shower didn't have a door so a lot of water ended up on the floor. I reserved a king bed but the bed I got was no bigger than a queen. I had to ask to be moved to a room with a king bed. The staff was neither friendly nor accommodating. The published breakfast hours were up to 10:30 but when I tried to enter the restaurant a little after 10:00 am the staff said they were closed until lunch. The examples of their borderline-rudeness are too numerous to list, but very few on staff were friendly. Oddly enough the exception seemed to be the housekeeping staff.
Everything was fine, the room is okay people are nice! Every now and then you have problemas with the keycard to get into your room
Hotel rooms nothing special. Staff is indifferent. Even with the hotel at low occupancy my room still happened to be facing the driveway and right next to the service elevator. Don't spend more than $80 or more than one night.
It was a quick stay but it was great. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The only thing I wish this hotel had was free wifi.
This site says it has free parking which is not true it was ok but wouldn't stay there again breakfast is 16 dollars for cereal and muffins internet is also expensive
Unfortunately we had to cancel our reservation due to heavy rain, traffic, wind, etc on the route. The manager did agree to refund part of our money. We were disappointed that we weren't able to make the trip.
Staff very helpfil. Close to DC metro and attraction
This is a luxury hotel for an unbelievable price. The hotel is centrally located to about everything you want to see or do. What first caught our attention is the fact that you can look down the street and see the White House just a few short blocks away. Yes, there are a lot of hotels in Washington D.C., but if you are looking for a GREAT hotel at an unequaled price, this is it. This would be our first choice when returning to Washington DC. There was nothing not to like about this hotel.
Excellent location for much of downtown DC. Around Midnight my room filled with old cigarette smoke as someone began smoking in the stairwell. The air quality overall in my particular room was poor, requiring the windows to be opened as much as possible. This of course made it difficult to sleep as the city sounds in DC near The White House are loud and replete with sirens 24/seven. Normally, one might cover one's ears to have silence. However, at this hotel the pillows are the size for small children.
Staff amazing and SO CLOSE to Everything! Also, very easy to Metro and DCA.
The hotel was very nice and extremely close to all the sites (just blocks from the White House). The room, service, and location were far above what I would expect for the price. Would stay here again and will recommend to anyone visiting the DC area.
The location and comfort here is great! Overall very good value!! The room was a little tight. Room had empty box of tissues, could of been a bit cleaner, dust.
The room was made up in typical Hilton style with decent bedding/bathroom stuff. This hotels has seen better days. One of the elevators was out of service (seemingly for a long time - a piece of tape covering the outside) the button to the elevator was cracked, and the whole thign was worryingly slowly and creaky. The room itself smelled musty - like it hadn't been aired out in years. Outside the window was the HVAC system which was *loud*. It was a crazy-horrible room. My best guess is that because Kayak booked the room through Priceline Hilton felt it was okay to give me the worst room they could find. I checked out immediately and went to another hotel nearby for the same price, but with a much nicer room and hotel in general.
It was right downtown near the white house and monuments, so we could walk everywhere Everything closes down so it's hard to find a late night restaurant or pharmacy
Friendly, attentive staff. Clean rooms and facilities. Location is within walking distance of many places to eat and a short ride from the national mall. Would stay again. Very cold lobby/restaurant/bar area. Thermostat in room kept malfunctioning. The maintenance guy brought us a space heater at one point. Requested shampoo at one point and three different staff people delivered some three separate times. Very friendly, but obviously some lack of communication. Staff was very apologetic about the thermostat and offered us a variety of comps.
Excellent attitude amoung all employees. Very welcoming. Had to wait over 2 hours to check in.
I had a big room with a big bed, enjoyed watching TV from the sofa.Overall, I enjoyed the room. Do not serve free breakfast
I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was definately more social and less like other hotels. It was a great experience.
I love the the original amenities in the mini bar. At the beginning we didn´t really know what to expect from the whole place due to the whole decoration being so rare and original, but we ended up enjoying it...the atmosphere is a lot of fun. There was no lotion available in the toiletries. The room service hours were kind of limited. There were some really nice people in the staff but some others looked a little annoyed and just too eager to go home.
Great hotel. Good position. Good staff. Perfect.
Nice area, rooftop is nice, awesome beds. Bathroom door did not shut.
Everyone was incredibly friendly. The service was just out of this world.
the decor was very interesting, the staff was very helpful and even went so far as to look up metro delays for us as we sat in horrible traffic. there was a dirty washcloth in the bathtub when we checked in and there was no vending available that i could locate.
Good furnishings No parking
Very nice hotel and attentive staff. Made us feel very welcome and the decor was very nice. Free champagne at night was a nice touch! Had a room we could keep our bikes in which was nice. No coffee in room, no real desk to work on were my only gripes. Nice big flat screen but no HD TV was a bit of a disappointment (although have been in other hotels with same set up). Not a big deal, though, locale was nice and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Great location and excellent accommodations. All for a reasonable price.
Spacious clean room. Nice staff. Decor a bit tacky but a lot of boutique style hotels are like that. Small, cramped and poorly laid out bathroom. Weak water pressure. Very similar to a motel.
Large, comfortable, clean rooms. Very environmentally friendly rooms. Excellent staff. Book it!
The Hotel Rouge is a boutique hotel and while it is a little too hip for my taste in terms of interior design, it is a wonderful and comfortable hotel. I was upgraded to a family room which, although I did not need the added amenities, was very nice. The family room is exceedingly large and includes a small room that has a bunk bed for the kids, a television and a game station. It also has a curtain so that it can be separated off, which I closed. The bed, a king, is very comfortable as are the pillows. There is a couch, work area, large flat panel television and a nice area with drawers and snacks. The bathroom is also generous in space and the bath products are very nice. The service is excellent, the staff pleasant and honest. I highly recommend this hotel for families despite the fact that it is designed more for the young hip crowd.
Room was a good size and had a comfortable bed. Good location for going to the bar and restaurants in the area. TV didn't have that many channels. Parking wasn't free for guests, I ended up paying $67 for one night which is pricey. The maids walked into my room unannounced twice during my one night stay, once while I was sleeping...
I liked room decor and setup. location wise, I was right where I needed to be. staff at check out were very nice. my car was towed, which should not have been, & since I was on the way out the valet guy went and got my car for me as I had no idea what to do, where to go and had such a small amount of time to get to my class. staff at check in were extremely rude.
Great location, very pleasant and accomnodating staff. Wi fi was available but for a fee
Area was good, nice neighborhood. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. The lighting on the floors hallways were dark and dingy. The lighting in room was awful. No fridge or coffeemaker in the room.
Beautiful lobby, great DC location, helpful staff, lovely room. A value I don't understand but was happy to have. Lovely room. It was great! As a group we did not enjoy breakfast in the restaurant.
We absolutely loved our stay at The Mayflower. My husband and I were there to renew our vows on our anniversary and the staff were extremely welcoming, making sure our room was ready several hours before normal heck-in hours so that we could get dressed and off to the ceremony in time. I can't think of a single thing that was less than exemplary- the loveliest hotel in DC!
incredible suite for the price... they tried to put me in a regular dbl room when I checked in! Reminded them I had booked and been confirmed by their reservations mgr for a suite with 2 dbl beds.
I came in at 4 and there was no water or mini-bar in the room. They told me that if I wanted a Diet Coke I would need to wait until room service was open at 5. In the morning, they didn't fill the breakfast order -- said they didn't get it. This for $400 a night? Hardly 4 star service.
The staff was very freindly and attentive and the hotel itself is beautiful. The fitness center was impressive. There was no wi-fi availbale in our room and we had to pay 13$ per day for internet acess.
Service was excellent They changed me an extra 200 dollars when I checked into the hotel, despite prepaying on Kayak
The hotel in a very nice location and the room very comfort. they give to me Room No 403 we can't sleep because of the noise of the air-condations from out side. and the hotel staff are not frindly
Location. Easy walk to many attractions as well as to my business destination.
The room was extremely spacious and the front desk staff was very accommodating. I also like the general ambience of the hotel. Front desk comped my minibar purchase because of the door issues. I was disappointed by the level of upkeep associated with my room. The entry door was clearly broken. You had to yank hard and really slam the door to get it to shut and stay locked. My housekeeper left my room door wide open after servicing the room one night so I came back to an open door. All of my belongings could have been stolen but luckily everything was there. The AC unit wasn't functioning properly so the room temp was a bit hot. The lighting in the vanity area was burned out. Could have been great but this really took away from the experience. Also no HBO
Location, staff was friendly, room was spacious and luxurious. Price was good value for the area. Wish I could have checked in before 3pm, but they did try to accommodate me.
the location is near where my son lives- walking distance The air conditioning (rm902) seemed un able to bring the temperature of the whole space down. The layout puts much of the room a long distance to the cooling air. The sink in the bathroom leaves little space for the toiletries.
A Kimpton stay is always worth savoring and the Topaz is no exception. Conveniently located on a quiet street just a block away from Du Pont Circle, its plethora of restaurants and Red Line metro stop, couldn't be better positioned. One of Kimplton's older properties in DC, its age is beginning to show but the rooms remain very comfortable with well functioning AC (important in this city) and comfy beds and linens. The people at a Kimpton are always the best, and the Topaz staff don't disappoint with helpful tips and recommendations and a willingness to pursue whatever you need. The tight lobby and now fading décor reflect the early days of Kimpton's rapid expansion in the District. The Topaz is a very intimate, boutique hotel that fits in well with the quiet residential neighborhood. Rooms are surprising spacious and physically comfortable, but well-worn and in need of an overall rehab with an attention to technology and access to electric and USB outlets, particularly around the desk (where you still need to crawl under to plug in your computer!). All said, I'd easily stay here again for its convenient location when the price is right.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great location to walk to most of the major sites. No refrigerator in the room.
Staff, location and room No
cost of parking
The room is right next to the elevator! Couldn't sleep at all because of the NOISE made by the elevator

The level of professionalism from the staff was amazing. I enjoyed the location because I was easily able to walk anywhere I needed to get to. Some might prefer being closer to the metro, but I was pleased. The tub was awesome. I wish there had been bubble bath soap.
Super friendly front desk for the most part Felt slighted by some of the other members of the staff valet in particular seems that certain people were treated some ways and certain people were treated others with the latter being treated worse. This is becoming a Norm at Marriott

The very friendly staff.
Location was excellent to walk or take the metro everywhere, breakfast was good, evening reception 3 days a week with drinks and appetizers was good as well. The service and hospitality of the staff was top notch. Parking is valet only and expensive, $45 a day. Thankfully we didn't rent a car and were able to just walk or ride the metro everywhere.
comfortable room with lots of space and clean/new kitchen appliances. corteous front desk and valet staff. great breakfast buffet. good location 1/2 mile walk to the convention center. air conditioner was too loud and the thermostat was inaccurate so the room was too cold unless we shut the AC off completely.
