close to where we were going out, rooms are a good size.
25th floor restaurant - fabulous meal, stunning views, excellent service. Room was fantastic, really quiet, great shower and comfy beds, very spacious.
Lovation Super slow internet. Poor tv selection. Very noisy, poor insulation from other rooms, particularly the hallway. Little parking, expensive. Does not feel like a four star hotel at all. Some staff will great you, others pretend like you don't exist. Would not stay here again, even if it were offered for free.
Convenient location. Nice staff. City view room nothing special. Probably worth paying the extra for "Harbour View".
i did not like the checking time at 3.00 pm that is to late.
Helpful staff, especially concierge. Spacious double room with excellent shower in bathroom. Sometimes difficult to speak to reception staff due to queues of people booking in or checking out etc. Charge for use of PCs rather excessive.
I liked the late checkout I did not like the 2 single beds pushed toghether
This hotel was clean and comfortable. We got a free upgrade to a Harbour View room, which is probably worth the extra cost. Pleasant 20+ minute walk to CBD/tourist sites. Nice and affordable restaruants south of William Street on Crown Street (Thai and Italian). There is a good local bar across from the Bayview called the Strand Hotel, and also one a block north on Crown called the East Sydney Hotel. FYI our cab rides were Airport $37, Bondi Beach $25 (take bus or subway/bus), downtown $7-9.
The way an old Sailors' Home had been transformed into a very modern and comfortable hotel. The reception closes at 6pm. We were delayed and did not have access to a phone to arrange a delayed check in and were nearly excluded for the night.
The gentleman that booked us in was one of a kind, he went way out of his way to direct us to the motel and was most caring.
The staff were so friendly and helpful! It was nice that your name was remembered.
This is a quiet, clean, comfortable, hospitable and reasonably priced private hotel in an interesting neighbourhood within a short walk of the NSW Art Gallery and NSW State Library and the Botanical Gardens. There are several good pubs within short staggering distance, as well as Harry's Cafe de Wheels, one of Sydney's top outdoor restaurants. The nearby waterfront is also interesting to visit and to contemplate while eating one of Harry's pies with mushy peas. A nice place to stay if visiting Sydney for a few days for pleasure or business. Your breakfast is self-service and as generous as you like. The main failing of this hotel is that the reception desk is only staffed for limited hours. You are advised to check in before 6 or 7pm, as there are extra fees and uncertainties about late check in. You need also to be self-reliant after 7pm until 7:30am as there is no service as such at the hotel over those hours. You will be given a front door key. For myself this has never been a problem over several stays over several years. This is the situation in many small private hotels.
Proximity to the CBD. Access to secure parking. Avoiding the Police RBT by staying in the hotel.
It was quiet enough for me to rest, and I like to stay in a hotel that isn't part of a chain / mulitnational corp. No complaints really - I did really need breakfast at 7am (had to leave at 7.30) and hot food wasn't available, so I had muesli. But it certainly didn't ruin my day.
Ideal location, Friendly, Excellent value for money
central to many tourists sights
Clean, exceeded my expectations as a budget hotel, brekky was great. Close to transport, staff were very helpful. I would certainly stay again.
On arrival this place had none of the ket things like free wireless internet or towel hire. Rooms very ordinary. Requested twin share room and was given bunk beds. Booked five night but found out rate paid was for a week and was not offered the extra two days.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was available early. Luggage was able to be left on day of checkout. The hostel was grubby. Carcked tiles in the bathroom, hair on shower cubicle for days. Taps fell off in the shower. Carpets were stained and in poor condition. Dishes were left in the sink or on the draining board, food was left on worktops. Little/no natural light in the communal areas. But the worst thing was the cockroaches in the kitchen!!
I stayed in room 17 which is for female only and single beds, it was on the top floor and really quiet compare to the other rooms. We had a small fridge as well in the room. One of the guy in charge was very helpful. Breakfast was all right as well but you have to be quick. They charge $4 an hour for internet and there is only 3 computers. Rooms would do with a light for each bed so roommates don't have to use the main light in the middle of the night. The rooms downstairs look really messy and dirty, especially when we look from the street, but I guess it is the backpackers responsabilities to keep theirs stuffs tidy, it gives a bad look and a bad first impression.
Handy to public transport. Good to have room to myself.
