When I arrived at the hotel, I was treated with the up most respect and they took care of me quickly. The room was amazing. I loved the indoor pool and it was in the center of downtown where I was able to experience the night life of the STL and the dining. So grateful I was accommodated when I book my stay so last minute and the price for the experience was the best part.
The room smelled like smoke and were dirty
The staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. The hotel is also conveniently located within walking distance of many attractions. My stay exceeded my expectations overall.
The staff were all very friendly, if not terribly helpful. Room was *filthy*. Walls were dirty, carpet was horrifying, and the bedspreads were filthy. They didn't even cover the bedspreads with fresh sheets. Sofa and chairs were so gross we were didn't want to sit on them. We were surprised to find out at the last minute that there was: -no microwave (They offered to bring us a microwave for a fee of $20/day. What?!) -no complimentary parking (We chose a hotel downtown in part to save on parking!!) -no complimentary breakfast So the value of a "discounted" room went out the window.
When our room was late they comped us on food items in the restaurant.
The pillows were nice. The front desk staff was pleasant The carpets were dirty, the furniture was old, and the hotel needs a thorough cleaning and updating. The tub bottom was dirty, as well
Check in and out was smooth, room was comfortable, on site parking, good proximity to Busch Stadium and Scottrade Center. Wi-fi wasn't free, TV wasn't easily seen from the far side of the bed. Needed better parking signage from the street.
Room was spacious. On site restaurant and bar a benefit. Cabs readily available.
The staff was helpful and friendly. We were close to downtown and the room was very clean and was a very spacious room. The hotel was quiet and overall was a very positive experience. There wasn't too many food options right near the hotel, we ended up taking a taxi to the downtown area for most of our trip.
Good security for the better part. The room was dirty. I found food on the floor. Staff at front desk was fair. A woman followed me into the bathroom that I had to unlock. Strange certainly not a guest. Do not know how she got into the hotel.
Everything was very good except checkout. I had to wait in line for 30 minutes before two customers in the only two lines were helped and the line began to move. I had no issues to resolve, there should have been someone else that was called up to help or an express line for people checking out.
Absolutely fantastic experience! The historic building of the hotel was wonderful. Service superb and friendly. They were great at accommodating out big dog and we loved the pet playground, only wish it had been fences on the open side. We will definitely stay here again when in St. Louis!

The staff was very friendly from check in to the moment we left. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and we loved the historic aspect of it. The hotel is conveniently located near the ballpark, the arch, and other great must see attractions. Breakfast buffet was good. The options for food weren't spectacular but it it was okay. There were weddings two of the nights we were there so the bar and Grand restaurant in the lobby weren't accessible. Mall was a little disappointing but again, nothing that would detract us from returning.
Staff was outstanding not having enough money to stay longer
The Grand Hall Light Show was Spectacular. The buildings history was posted on plaques in various places that was interesting. The building as whole was restored beautifully. Clean room and friendly front desk clerks. The walk to the Ball Park was fine for a couple but was a little far with younger children, although there is city transportation available. Kids loved the pond with fish to feed and the paddle boats, all in all we would book here again. Having to pay $20 to park a night, and had we not be Hilton Honors Reward members we would've had to pay for breakfast as well. The layout was a little off, with the rooms a distance from the lobby. There was a wedding two of the three nights and everything was blocked off made it inconvenient and missed the light show. Very few shops in the shopping center.
The staff was helpful (and even suggested parking on the street since it was the weekend instead of paying for the hotel lot), the location is good, and the lobby/light show is very nice. The room was clean though one of the beds was uncomfortable (lopsided). The layout is weird (it was hard to find our room) and it was a long walk from the entrance to the room. My biggest complaint was the pool: It looked fine from the surface but then I got in with goggles on and was disgusted to find wads of human hair and other dirt all over the bottom. Maybe the filter was broken? Regardless, it was gross. Also, there were no towels (and no one came to refill them in the hour I was there).

It's definitely worth the extra money. (It seems expensive, but a lot of hotels in downtown areas charge money for parking....)
From start to finish the stay on NYE was fantastic. Valet service was amazing (and only $7 more than self park). Check in was fast and easy even with multiple weddings taking place at the hotel that evening. Every worker encountered was friendly and willing to help or answer questions. The rooms were amazing. So beautifully decorated and the beds were quite comfortable, but I'm not picky.

I should say, having been born and raised in St. Louis, and having participated in the Theater Project Company's youth theater program before the renovations, I am partial to Union Station. The hotel was renovated lovingly, and every staff member we encountered was friendly, pleasant and helpful. The prices for the room and accommodations were reasonable. And the grand ballroom is something to behold (there's a laser light show every hour in the evenings that is a lot of fun).
