Windows face directly into office building just 10ft away. People in the office can see directly into your room
Close to everything in Union Square, clean and nice-looking inside. ...but that translates to a little over $300 a night, which isn't really worth it. Avoid it during the conventions in town.
The Palomar is in a great location, the staff is very friendly, and the rooms are nicely decorated. Beds are OK. Restaurant (Bad Habit?) onsite had a nice quality breakfast which was pretty reasonable.
location near MOMA and Market Street shopping, Union Square, and Orpheum Theater. Good location
Had a great time friendly staff great restaurant That nobody answered the phone at the restaurant for me to make a reservation fri night
Front desk personnel and bell service were exceptionally helpful. Rooms were nicely appointed - largest TV I've ever had in a hotel room. Central location right at Powell St. BART Station allowed me to get there quickly from Oakland Airport.
The Palomar was clean, quiet and comfortable and in a great location. The woman working in the evening checking in guests needs more training. Either that or maybe she was having a bad night.
The service at the San Francisco Palomar was excellent. The front desk staff and doormen deserve top marks. They were helpful in every circumstance from procuring a taxi to giving directions or making suggestions regarding nearby attractions and walking distances. The hotel was clean, the restaurant was superb....fantastic breakfast! And the wait staff was superior. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and look forward to that happening in the near future. Hats off to the Palomar staff!!!!!!!
Room was great. But we were placed next to the ice machine....the wall there sounded paper thin throughout the night as guest needed ice. Being stuck next to an ice machine at 2 am
Good arrival and wait staff were both friendly and efficient. The door man was great and the team inside were extremely helpful. I have stayed in other SF hotels in the past and Hotel Zelos is a nice addition to the city. City hotel rooms can sometimes be small but the rooms at Zelos are very spacious! I also would like to say thank you for an overall smooth and fun experience! From booking on line with Kayak to speaking directly with the hotel, to checking in & out, everyone was super friendly and consistently would go out of their way to be helpful. Mixed message on parking After speaking with associates on two separate occasions. Then the confusion in the garage, mind you I thought I lost my ticket to return however I unpacked it when I arrived back home this evening. There was a problem between the hand written sign in log from the valet and the printed report from the front desk and the hotel's portion of valet claim check system also did not work. I retrieved my vehicle because I brought the only two matching keys and I have matching handmade key chains attached. Breakfast table with two nice chairs rather than a rolling office chair. That was weird. But it was also SF PRIDE weekend so who cares!
The staff was very friendly. The driver to the airport (George in the Towncar) was very courteous. Need a coffee maker in room. Not a deal breaker though of course.
The location of the hotel was excellent. There were many nice dining, shopping and entertainment options very close by. It is also very close to a BART station so getting there from the airport is very easy. San Francisco is a surprisingly easy city to drive in as well, though parking is very expensive. Though the bed was very comfortable, it was a bit squeaky. Also, being on Market street means that there is a bit of noise but it's not excessive.
Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Clean. Helpful concierge. Central location near transport and theaters. Lovely Art Deco Architecture. Extensive vending machine. No Air Conditioning. No hotel movies. No room service.
Unique room small but lots of windows that opened to Mission st and large wallirrir behind bed wall! !mission and 5 th st parking garage just across street , short walk to Moscone Center with Starbucks on way Close parking and walking distance to Moscone Center
Location excellent! The mattress with its loud rubber squeaking was completely INSANE!!!? It was something from a comedy show or hidden camera. I have never imagined something so aweful. Worse yet, when we told the front desk, we were told a Manager would call us. Nope. We called amd emailed. No return call. There is no excuse to have such HORRIBLE customer service as to not even return a phone call.
Cleanliness, location, price and everything Charging Extra 50 USD , for Incidental charges no doubt same wlll be refunded but they should have that much faith in customer
I got early to the pickwick hotel I liked that they were able to get me a room by 1 pm
The place had character good location staff was good Rooms weren't cleaned enough, broken outlet in bathroom and rooms were kind of tight
The AC seems not working, the vents blow hot air only. Opened all the windows to get some cool air but that was too loud as the room opens on to the busy road with lots of traffic. Wi-Fi is OK, but could not connect to VPN. It was a short stay checked in at midnight. I was travelling from East Coast, so that is 3 AM. Did not bother to complain to staff and checked out 8 AM local time.
The location was great. Yeah - theres homeless people outside BUT theres homeless people all over SF. My second room was good. I was originally put into a room on the second floor (avoid at all costs) and the windows were open when I got there (sign 1) - got them closed. Then my hot water didnt work and maintenance had to work on it for 30 min (sign 2). Finally when I slept it got so incredibly hot in my room that I was sweating. Not even the fan was keeping it cool. I should have changed rooms that night but it was 10 pm and I just worked a 12 hour day. The next morning I explained to the front desk all of the above and they immediately put me in a nicer room.
It was 3 blocks to the Moscone Center. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Historic/ small rooms. Price was outrageous for the room - $349 a night (but we were there during the Pride Parade and Library Conference). We had to sleep with the windows open, weak AC - air temp not the problem, but street noise. Water pressure in shower came and gone. Both of us seating at the end of the bed flipped the mattress.. Surprise!
The parking is a bit expensive- I realize it's San Fran but $46/night seems excessive
Great value! Great location for Moscone Convention Center. Cozy room (small), but very clean and quaint. Good for one person who's not planning to spend time in the room other than to sleep. T.V. was great with fast channel surfing, solid cable connection. Although old building, everything was very clean. Clean bathroom, great water pressure. I don't think there was room service - no menu or hotel binder in the room. Not a lot of space to put toiletries in the bathroom, but that wasn't a big deal. Wifi didn't work in the room - totally weak connection.
The price you pay for a hotel in that location was great. It was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The shampoo and lotion provided was good enough that I didn't need to use my own (it was Bath & Body Works brand). And the towels were nice and fluffy - not thin and scratchy. It was pretty worn around the edges. Facilities were old and walls were badly in need of a paint job. The room was small and the bed creaked. The WIFI was slow and unreliable. The walls were pretty thin and you could hear other guests and street noises clearly.
We were a group of five girls and this hotel stay was great! Room is spacious, beds comfy. No complains. Pool is small
Staff was very friendly and accommodating, very quiet rooms and I felt very comfortable using the facilities. The beds were very comfortable and we had ample space. Great stay overall.
It was a perfect location to see the Embarcadero and the ballgame...a good center for traveling around town. It was even a short walk to China Town, No breakfast menu...just buffet in the AM...too much food, too high of a price.
Easy walk from the Bart after coming in from SFO. No uphil climb with cases like we had when we stayed in union square. The larger room allowed us to have all 3 kids in the room so no second room. The walk to union square took less than 5 minutes and easy walk to transport to get all over the city. Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was really expensive. Kids would never have eaten $21 worth of food. There is a Starbucks in the lobby though and lots of breakfast places enroute to union square. The crepe food truck on the corner was delicious. Only other complaint would be that the shower pressure was low when other rooms were using. Why no pressure regulators Marriott?
Good Location. Overall everything was alright. Nothing too wonderful, but nothing too critical. The lobby was fancy, but rooms werent wonderful. Not the friendliest staff. I found it strange that when I called for a bandaid, the front desk tried to sell one to me. I have been to other hotels, including Courtyard's, where they will just deliver something small like a bandaid to you if you need it. I even recall needing feminine products and they were sent to me. Considering the price of the hotel, and the parking ($59/night!), you would think a simple request like that would have been fulfilled.
The breakfast and the lobby were good The room and bathroom were not upto the mark for the price.
Very friendly and attentive staff at all levels. They went above and beyond for some of our requests. Food at the onsite restaurant was delicious though a bit pricey. Location was a bit dirty with a lot of construction and older run down buildings around. Lots of noise from the major road behind hotel came through the closed windows as if they were open. Parking was over the top! $60/day!!
The staff was very accommodating for my elderly parent's needs.
The staff, location and facilities. Nothing
Great location, near water front, business district and tourism venues. Location was accessible via public transportation: Bart, CalTrain King At station approx mile or less away. In house Starbucks Coffee and restaurant. Utilized fitness facility, clean and mix of Dumbbells and aerobic equipment. Encountered negative experience with guests on our floor using Marijuana, hallway and elevator on or floor. It reaked of the odor during the Second day or our stay. A bit of loud partying on our floor as well. We notified the desk a few times (they offered to give us another room), but apparently they weren't able to locate the source. Disappointed that errant "Spring Breaker kids" ruined an otherwise pleasant experience. FYI we were traveling for leisure, and had our 8 he old son with us. Not the environment you'd want a child exposed to.
I hosted a bachelorette party at the Intercontinental and it was great!! The staff was very accommodating and helped us with making sure all the girls were taken care of. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, and the hotel was extremely spacious. There was a "bouncer" type employee at night who gave me and the girls staying at the hotel a hard time. He required every girl to have a key in their hand to get in, even though we just had one person per room have a key because we didn't think it was necessary. He was extremely rude and borderline harassing.
Luxury accommodations. Very friendly and helpful staff. Valet parking fee is crazy high!
The proxility to Union Square shopping. The expensive parking, and the dinner menu was not versatile. We did not find anything appealing, and left.
Large rooms, comfortable beds, spotless and modern bathrooms. Comfortable bar area. Parking was very expensive. Some of the staff were lovely, but others almost ruined our stay through constant daily demands to see our passports and being unclear about the policies of the hotel. This was unfortunate, as the hotel itself was excellent.
Appreciated the staff the location and the lounge/restaurant. The room was great with a nice view each morning ....
Given a corner room even though I booked via Kayak Provided with slippers Room was spacious and TV was large - guess is 55" Gym was well equipped but didn't have time to use it Easter bunny was on duty and there was a tableful of candy for the young and not so young - I didn't have any but still appreciated the effort Bathroom short on racks to hang towels Shower head water flow too wimpy Bathroom scale low on battery
Comfortable bed, clean facilities Check out was at 12:00pm as normal but was woken up by maid knocking on door at 9:15am. Charged my credit card $100.00 more than what was on invoice when I checked out. To be refunded within 5days or so supposedly....... It would have been nice to know beforehand.
staff were extremely helpful. location was perfect. good sized rooms.
I liked how the staff was really attentive. Rooms clean, everyine real proffesional. I didnt like the fact that when u drive in to check in they dont tell u that the charge for parking is 65$ . Also that the water thats in the room thats bottled i didnt know they would charge me 8:50$ for it. Ridiculous! I seen when i checkd out!
Modern hotel (fairly new), clean and professional staff. Wirless internet access in-room is not included in the standard room rate
Awesome views of AT&T Park and the Bay. Front desk agent was great.
Great hotel and staff. They treated us perfectly. I would absolutely stay here again. No complaints as all. The location for us was a bit too close to some seedy areas of town. No problem, but you need to be careful which way you walk.
Increased price at booking by 15%. Quoted price $135/night became $220 after increase, taxes, and enormous $42 parking fee. Tried to cancel, they wouldn't allow that.
Rooms are clean, communal areas are clean. But its a basic stay, good for if you need to be in the area and do not require more than a comfortable bed. Location not ideal. Far from downtown. Room was made daily, though we expressed that an attendant should not enter the room (not a big deal).
Rooms looked fairly newly renovated. Homeless receive free services next door so they're everywhere and they're aggressive. NOT a place I'd bring a family to stay if enjoying SF.
ThemIss come into your room even when the privacy sign is in. She didnt eve knock just barged right in! Not comforting if your trying to leave your room at all while on vacation.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Typical chain hotel amenities, and comfy bed. Good location. Housekeeping came in the room at 7am to me pushing them out saying come back later. If she had it her way she'd clean around me and make me into the sheets go get her job done. Hidden fees. Add $100 extra to your bill for "taxes and other costs". Parking is $50 a night
The staff and restaurant were excellent Being a guest and having to pay extra for parking. Makes staying in the city to expensive because you don't really want to walk anywhere in that area at night
Parking garage is $45 Small restroom and no fridge
Staff was excellent. Area of the hotel. Not an area I would walk around.
Room had at least two flies at all times. Sheets may may not have been changed. Restaurant food was like pay x4 the price of Denny's but the same quality
This hotel was clean and the room was spacious and the furniture was modern and nice. The location of this hotel is the worst part. Actually it is located on the 7th Street which is between the two more notorious areas of SF (we were told to avoid walking on the sixth street and the areas above and under the 7th street are also unsafe). These streets are full of homeless people and during the night is a bit scary. These streets also smell funny. SF is wonderful and really worths visiting but we wouldn't stay to this hotel again due to this problem. The reception staff wasn't helpful either.
I had a large comfortable room. The BART terminal was very close. I think I would always stay here when visiting San Francisco.
The room was really comfortable. The acoustic insulation was not satisfactory. I could hear another guest playing loud music early in the morning.
yes very much, the beds were very confortable and staff was wonderful. colorful and happy place no
This is more like a motel than hotel. It was clean, but weathered. The furniture and finish was economy when it was new which was some time ago
Don't ever come here!
The location is good. The front desk person was a trainee left alone and unable to fulfill basic functions of their job. The room was loud and stuffy. Our original room had no functioning windows or air conditioning. Several dead birds outside locked window. After an hour at the front desk we finally got a better room. This motel is extremely noisy. Don't plan on sleeping past 7 am as all doors open into a courtyard and slam as guests leave.
The bed & sheets were clean & comfortable. The room size itself was super small. They can also do away with the stylish chairs, there was simply no room for it. Maybe replace it with a posh cube chair that stores under the table a lot better
Staff was rude
The thing I require the most from a hotel room is silence at night time. With this hotel it was pretty good. I had a room towards the inner courtyard and you can hear people chatting or walking outside your room but you don't hear almost anything from the streets. This means it's silent most of the night. The weather was such that I did not need A/C or heating much but it sounded too loud to be left running over night to me. The hotel room was also very tidy and the staff was helpful. They also fixed my wall-plug adapter for me when I had trouble with it. Nothing much here, you could hear other people from outside your room through the wall/window. No sound from adjascent rooms, though.
I liked the location. I didn't like that parking at the hotel was $35 a night. It would of been nice if it was in the description. Parking was a rip off.
The decor The staff was m
hotel was fine, cleaning crew were polite and the morning front dest person was very polite the front desk person that was there when i arrived at 3:00 am July 4th was very rude had an attitude and with an attitude said i needed to make a deposit of $100 but he was very rude wouldn't answer any of questions i was not comfortable with him what so ever.
Poor Enviroment poor and customers have to go to their rooms which was located on the opposite side of the check in Main Hotel, the breakfast was poor as well, nothing added after food finished.
Nothing my experience was horrible
best location ,sleep well ,quite ,comforte breakfast
Close to At&T Ball Park Location
The Friendly staff It was slightly noisy, you could hear everything outside, but not bad enough to ruin your stay. There was also a lack of entertaining television channels.
Location was good for all major attractions. Easy to drive to location Towels very thin and small
Didn't know they would put a hold on credit card. Stairs and elevator was broken
Free Wireless Cold
The people at the reception were nice and helpful. There was some smoke from cigarettes although the hotel was declared non-smoking. The breakfast was poor but with some additional shoppings ok.
The location isn't terrible and the hotel is pretty cute. I think they must have raided an Ikea for the room decor. The parking lot isn't that big, and we had to pay $40 to valet at another hotel across the street. When we got to our room, we noticed it smelled funny and the carpet was wet under the window near the radiator. They moved us to another room which I think was a little smaller. The bathroom was unbelievably small, even for an older hotel. A larger person would have had quite a bit of difficulty getting ready in the mirror or using the toilet. Being that it was NYE, it was very loud. There were parties going on in other rooms and we could hear everything from loud music to couples having mediocre sex.
Decently priced compared to other hotels in San Francisco. The rooms were updated and nice. Good use of environmentally friendly amenities. No AC and the room we had got pretty warm when the sun came up, but the windows open so we could still cool off the room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free bikes for guests to use. Close to touristy areas and public transit. Lobby and hallways were a bit dated. Location was a bit sketchy at night, but we never felt unsafe. Housekeeping was sporadic. During our 4 night stay our room was not made up on 1 day and when we checked in around midnight, they had to check to make sure our room had been cleaned. Can be noisy at night with outside noise.
Be careful walking around at night, lots of homeless, not a great area. The idea the hotel is trying for is good. I like the bulk shampoo & soap dispensers. The bed was small and uncomfortable, on a wooden crate of all things. We asked for pillows three times after waiting patiently between each request and housekeeping never brought them. The front desk was apathetic. Parking ends up being almost $40 in addition to the already way overpriced hotel room.
I was very happy with my stay. The Good Hotel met all my expectations. At the price it is the best hotel in SF.
For all the eco-friendly/green, modern people out there this may be one of your best options in the city. They do their best to be eco-friendly and I'm sure they'll keep making improvements. They also have free bike rentals which was nice! The staff was quick to help, it was a great deal for our money, the "double bed" room was small but that doesn't bother me, get a queen room if you need the space. Other than that I'm sure you'll like it. Parking was a bit expensive but there are no decent hotels with free parking.
The location was good, and staff was friendly. I liked my room and checked out a couple of the free bikes to ride to Golden Gate Park. Had an issue with the toilet when I arrived which was dealt with immediately when I called the front desk. No refrigerator, room was a little small.
The room was clean and the location is right downtown which is perfect. Probably only good for a short stay There were only two pillows, the room was hot, and the tv was small. We weren't there to watch tv, but the last hotel we stayed at in Santa Cruz had a decent sized one so we were probably spoiled by that experience. This place is good if you need a place to crash, but something about it was just ehh. And you might as well pay the $30 to park in their lot because you'll never find parking in SF. And all the street parking surrounding it was only 1hr parking until 10pm
Friendly front staff. Easy check-in. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. One of the worst I've ever slept on, and I'm pretty easy to please. The hotel was billed as eco-friendly which must be code for cheap, sterile, minimalist decor. A no frills room and I spent a LOT of money to stay here. I recommend staying at the Americania across the street. Same company, but an entirely different hotel experience.
The hotel has everything you need for a business trip. It's clean and affordable. There are restaurants near the hotel and a CVS, where you can get whatever you need. Some of the staff members at the front desk weren't the nicest.
I really enjoyed the fact that it was close to most of the main attractions in San Francisco. My boyfriend and I could walk to most places from the hotel. I really didn't dislike much about the hotel. I think it would be cool if they offered complimentary breakfast :-) San Fran can be pretty expensive so having something taken care for us would be nice
Website Reservation 11 months ago and fully paid for room. They cancelled two days before saying they were overbooked But still had rooms for sale at much higher price Don't trust this hotel. Second time they cancelled but won't happen again
The staff were very accommodating . They only had 2 treadmills
- Great staff, very friendly & helpful!! - Perfect setting for a weekend getaway in SF. - Our Room: We had the Jr Suite. It was a good size, very trendy. It was great for our bachelorette party. The room came with a JamBox, which was very much appreciated since I forgot to pack mine! - Location was good for our use. The hotel is 1 block from the BART so it's easy to get around from there. - Couch bed wasn't terribly comfortable, but when has there ever been a comfortable couch bed... I was fine trading that for the larger room. I was told that the king bed was great!
Staff was very accommodating Decor was cool. Great location I'd rather see a coffe maker in the room than the espresso machine
Very nice gym w/ 2 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines with lcd screens, and one cycle. Good selection of free weight dumbbells. Great machine weight with a variety of exercises. Towels, fruit and even sparkling water. A good touch was the disposable headphones. Also has a nice game room; ping pong, big wooden jenga blocks, shuffle board, pool table. Location is great, very trendy art and generally polite staff. I asked for a quite room on the inside. I was assigned a very loud room which did not have dual pane windows and was woken at about 5am to what sounded like loud trash trucks. My sheets were not changed from a previous guests' stay. I found long strands of hairs under the covers as well as short pubic hair through out the bed sheets. Since it was already 4 am, I was too tired to deal with it, so I slept on top of the covers with a thin blanket from the closet. I was pretty disgusted. I was in a rush the next morning to get to Moscone Center, but did inform the front desk. They sent housekeeping to change the sheets and left me a note w/ water and a chocolate bar. I also realized that I was missing a bathroom vanity rug on my first night. The hotel room is very small with hardwood floors through out and an old rug around the bed. On the last day of my 2 night stay I had a pretty bad incident in the bathroom with a shattered glass pendant light shade. The bathroom ceiling drops down and I could touch the ceiling by simply raising my arms (I'm 6ft tall). The designer decide to hang a ceiling pendant light despite the low ceiling with a glass shade. While drying myself after a shower, when I raised my arms, my hands hit the glass shade leaving me showered with shattered glass! This is quite dangerous and I'm lucky I didn't get cut badly, only a nick on my right knuckle. I don't think management handled the situation very well. I generally just found issues with the cleanliness of the hotel; dust around the night stands and the closest, unchanged sheets, noisy rooms. I would not recommend this hotel unless they get their act together.
it was close to Slim's, which was good because that's the reason we booked a room there. there's a bar across the street where we got drunk. that was cool. the parking lot smelled like urine.
Free internet access. Free parking. Room clean. Poor breakfast. Not fancy neighborhood.
Great location, Clean, Even though it was on a busy street the rooms were very quiet.
The position is good considering the proximity to town center. Parking facility ok The position is bad since the area is filled with beggar and bad faces, particularly during late evening. The structure would need a general refurbishment
The manager was really friendly, location is perfect - only short walk to the city centre, parking available at site. The area is a bit shaby, not really safe I guess. Continental breakfast is not really what was offered, more just coffeebuns and coffee.
I was pleasantly surprised at what good value for money it was being so conveniently located to downtown San Francisco. Free parking too. I was given a smoking room rather than a non smoking.
Friendly staff, comfortable beds, big rooms
In spite of the location, my off-street room was surprisingly quiet
free internet and free parking included in price rooms are a bit worn down
I didn't like anything of this hotel. It was not clean, the staff wasn't friendly and sometimes the staff wear pyjamas. In front of the rooms there were sometimes wanderers in front of the hotelroom. The prices of the hotelroom was too expensive.
The hotel was clean and conveniently located for a 5 minute bus ride to Moscone Center. The hotel is in a dangerous part of town.
I loved the room decor. Although having a refrigerator in the room would have been good for storing my medications. The location is bad and the availability of something decent to eat past 10:00 p.m., is none. The staff added additional items to the billing and I had to request several times for the rate to be corrected and the additional items removed.
Close to a BART station. Very convenient from International Airport. Public safety is not so good around the hotel. Sometimes, in the midnight, outside of the hotel was noisy.
Very friendly and helpful staff Offers free wifi but very very slow and does not work most of the time
N/A wouldn't accept cash and unfriendliness of staff
Good clean room, friendly staff, value for money. Location not ideal with quite run down surrounding areas
The staff were great, very helpful, and the room was pretty cool Minor point, but the tv reception was awful and the remote control did not work.
nice room.very nice looking and comfortable. no ice machine on the floor.paying for parking.
Kitschy decor is cute, gives room a less sterile feel. The hotel markets itself as boutique, but is actually owned by the Best Western across the street.
Helpful staff, comfortable bed. I would have liked more extensive breakfast choices.
Its a stylish place, in a not so great location; however the personnel were very nice. The location, and parking fee
Staff members were very polite, and helped with obtaining taxi when Love Fest - parade along Market Street was in full swing. Only experienced one staff member more interested in his dinner break than serving customers. Try and avoid room facing road, very noisy traffic and people walkingby. Not suitable for ladies to walk back from Market Street when it is dark, to Motel - 3 blocks. Unfortunately a lot of homeless people line the road en route back, esp at night. Staff friendly, however, would not accept Travel Card insisted on card with name on it, which was inconvenient.
I liked the fact it was really close to Market street and other main attractions. Many homeless people yell and get aggressive around the hotel especially at night. You feel kind of in danger when you go back to your hotel room.
Nothing I stay in San Francisco frequently and have tried this place because it was cheap and close to my work. During a recent stay the TV didn't work in two of the rooms they sent me to, and the bed smelled of heavy male cologne. When I reported this the management refused to do anything about it. There is also a lot of road noise and you can hear right through the walls. I would strongly recommend avoiding this motel, there are much better choices for the same price.
We did not stay. We immediately checked out, lost our money for the first night and found another hotel.
I had a back room, so it was reasonably quiet. Rooms and grounds are kept clean. Refrigerator and microwave in room. Close enough to Moscone that I walked it several times. Area does not feel safe at night.
Bathroom was clean. When I walked in immedeatly noticed the sheets had holes in them, there was no comforter on the bed, walls were grungy, and the room smelled like it used to be a smoking room. I turned on the AC unit which made a constant loud thudding noise and then turned off - only to not turn back on. I was in SF for business so tried to use the wifi which I could not connect to so I went to call the front desk - picked up the in room phone only to find the phone had no dial tone. I called the front desk on my cell and asked for guidance connecting to wifi and told her about the air conditioner. The response I got from the girl was essentially a very rude and unhelpful it's your computer and there is nothing I can do about the air conditioner. ...
The staff was very helpful and the cost was reasonable. The food could have been better.
There was a breakfast included The WiFi didn't work, the staff was super rude, at some points there was no electricity and they didn't feel like taking care of it, breakfast was very simple, some strange people would come for breakfast - maybe homeless, I can't imagine that they were staying there.
The room were comfortable and its a low cost hotel in a tough neighborhood but in the heart of San Francisco Both of our rooms had signs of bed bugs but we couldn't find any live ones and they didn't want to give us anther room.
the employees are nice and helpful the bed had springs broken all over the bed. the iron leaked all over the floor. the couch was broken. breakfast was a piece of bread.
The location is great for what I go to San Francisco for. The price compared to other hotels for the size and area it's located in can't be beat. This isn't a fancy hotel with a marble lobby and valet. But it's good for going to The City and hanging out for a few days
Bad neighbor, loud at night crackheads hanging out on the property
The rate was pretty good They said on your site free parking and then charged Me $17 a night extra to park.
Good value for money and great staff.
Down town close Things broken not working
great location in a nice quiet street comfortable room friendly staff
Nothing The area, the room that smell bad, Continental breakfast. There was no Continental breakfast, just a piece of cake in a bag and a coffee !!.
Friendly staff, great location. Could stand updating and increased cleanliness
When I checked in I asked the desk Clerk if there were any ice machines on he different floors and he said there was only one on th first floor. When I went to my room I got the ice bucket and went down to get ice. The machine was out of order. I feel that he could of informed me of this before I went up to my room.
Room well appointed considering cost and hotel well decorated Position in the "South of Market" area meant that walking back to the Hotel in the evening felt risky - this was probably more perception than reality.
Tha staff of the hotel were very nice, the rooms were clean, great value for money.
- Staff, basically the one guy who ran the front desk the entire time I was there, very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. - Very close to downtown area and convention center - Takeout food and laundromat nearby, fairly large mini-fridge located in the room - Comfortable beds, two people could easily sleep on one - Decent Wi-Fi (though unsecured) - A pretty good shower relative to other hotels I've stayed at in the region - Bring earplugs if you have trouble sleeping, fair amount of outdoor noise - Furniture was pretty worn and a little dirty - Area can feel a little sketchy late at night - No A/C, might want to keep that in mind if you're staying during a warmer month - Smallish rooms
Good price for SF. Could walk to the convention center <1mile.
A clean, comfortable room for a decent price. Free wifi (but which hotel/motel doesn't have that in the US nowadays?) The description "... you feel like you are in a charming small European town (...) Most rooms have city skyline views" seems a bit far reached. Folsom Street - especially at night - by far isn't the most friendly street in SF. Besides: the hotel is situated above an Irish pub which can be quite noisy.
Nothing The location. The staff. The shared bathroom. I couldn't shower for 3 days because every time I went to go use the shower, someone was using it or there was standing water left in the tub from the last person using it. It was disgusting.
The Utah in is very simple in what you get. In what you get, they do a very good job. The location isn't the best. Probably not appropriate for families and would suit single travelers best.
Nothing at all, it was awful The whole floor has to share one bathroom it was disgusting and old. Isn't even in a good part of San Fransisco, and a loud nasty bar was directly under the hotel. If you're looking for a cheap stay I'd drive a little further out of the city and get a decent hotel for the same price.
The staff are great price was very good facility and the rooms are clean Underneath this place is a saloon that has multiple live performances per night and practices during the day (every day of the week). It is worth noting that the staff will do their best to move you to a better room Cleaning staff decided not to empty my trash for 4 days shared Bathroom and and shower
Got a great room price for SF standards and it was modern, New, clean, walked to Giants game, not exposed to noise @ the game. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Convenient location. Breakfast Valet parking- $$$$$$$$- crazy , neighborhood needs lots of love
Friendly staff, clean and near everything! Love it! nothing
The desk staff was very helpful and accommodating. They sent up maintenance immediately when I told them the safe was locked before I checked in. The safe was locked when I checked in, the housekeeping staff forgot to empty a garbage that had food scraps in it, and the shower door is very difficult to open because the glass door doesn't quite clear the stone entry.
Friendly accommodating staff. New and clean. Good location. First room was fine, then they moved the 3 of us to one very tight one with the only light coming from a light well - inadequate room lighting - much too dark. Okay breakfast offerings. Two fire alarms on one day - evacuation at 8 am and again later.
the location is near to cable car, but in the dark it' not really safe. the bath and toilet is not in the room, but clean
Near the center city Located in a noisy quarter and badly frequented.
rooms were decent. considering the area, it felt safe. Staff was friendly - nice people all of them. Location: There's a drug needle exchange across the street! Lots of homeless people all over the area. Loud screaming partying people could be heard from 6 - 9 pm every day!! No air conditioning. I stayed 5 nights, they don't clean the rooms! It's a budget room.
The position is 400 meters away from the center of San Francisco (Powel and Market st). The area is not so beatifull... If you are 2 or more guys there's non problem, but if you are one of two girls is not good for you to come back in the Hotel in the dark... The name is Pontiac Hotel, but I think that is better to call it an hostel. The room is not so big and the bed is not for 2 people, but for one ad a half. The towels and the bed is never been changed in the 5 days in witch we stayed there. The continental breakfast is only some muffins and fruit with a coffee.
Although this hotel was not far from the main Downtown area, it was not in an area that I would advise others to stay in. The room itself was not clean or spacious; it had a continual beeping from the smoke alarm which we were told could not be fixed. Frankly we felt unsafe and threatened in the short time we spent at the hotel - we moved out before even spending a night there.
cheap need to put at least 4 bathroom/ shower . I noticed that there was only 2 shower room in each floor.
The staff was very nice, very helpful; I get the feeling this is a family owned and run place, and that they keep an eye on things. Hall bathrooms and showers were kept very clean. While it is a very close in and convenient location to things, it is a little sketchy after dark. Be advised to stay aware of your surroundings. It is older and not fancy, so very popular witht the younger and international crowd because of the low cost. Not really a bad thing, though.
The low price, of course! Really a pretty good value--very close access to everything, pretty quiet and easy to sleep, and the hallway bathrooms were remarkably clean! The area can be a bit sketchy late at night, so just be aware of surroundings. And I am not too crazy about the whole "bathhouse style" of towel exchange. Would much rather have a couple nice bath and hand towels in the room to start and go from there. Could also use a few more hooks and hangers in the rooms.
Friendly staff. Great location at walking distance of Powell station. I didn't know bathroom was shared, I found out once there. No house keeping, you have to take care of your bedroom.
The staff is nice, and the price includes breakfast. The room was tiny, the area must be one of the worst in San Francisco. They charged mt debit card with an extra 50 dollars as depisir and I have to wait 3 days to get it back (if I get it back in the end). We parked in the next street, and when I went for the car in the morning, someone was looking into it. My friend saw that policeman were in a shop where blood was on the floor. Avoid this area.
nothing I have stayed 6 days. Nobody cleaned the room. But staf are friendly..
I thought it was quaint. I think if you don't have huge expectations and you can make the most of it. It's worth it! A little dirty but I'm not too picky

Nothing The overall experiance
Location was superb for my purpose Price is awesome for San Francisco My only problem is the place is really filthy, it could be improved with little effort. In general I'd be happy with the stay if not for the bed bugs experience. I was severely bitten. The management changed my room immediately but I am on my own with cleaning the luggage and clothes to ensure I do not transfer the bed bugs to my household.
It was in the downtown, and the sheets were clean. The neighborhood was not sympathetic, even the clerc suggested to not park on the streets.I did not have the feeling that the restrooms are really clean. It was expensive, it had been better when we drive 40 minutes to an other hotel in the suburb.
The location The air in the room was not fresh, i saw some small flies when i walk in the room.

The location for my conference at AGU was the best thing of this Hostal Is a hostel, so do not expect something fancy. It is just to stay to sleep, exactly what I need in my trip.
Really dirty and smelly Toilet was backed up, room smelled and the whole area looks scary
The owner of the hostel was an amazing guy, super friendly and looked out for us during our stay. There were no bugs or anything gross about the rooms. The location gave you a real taste of San Francisco and was located close to everything.
the manager was great! The hotel is in the worst part of town - druggies, homeless, filthy rundown area. We were in San Fran at the very busiest time - this was the only room we could get. There was a big worldwide IT convention happening.
