It is new constructed pleasant hotel I dont like fact that if you want watching free tv-channel you must pay, also the hotel has not free of charge WiFi internet conection...Hotels staff is not informed about public traffic transportation..
Modern rooms, good sized rooms Far from main attractions, not close to a metro station, no room service (food/drinks) poor sound proofing between rooms, noisey hallways due to marble floors.
Comfortable, modern hotel. Restaurant quite good and not too expensive for type of hotel. Catering for huge tour groups - not ideal if solo traveller. Room too hot with no way to open windows. Air conditioning poor or switched off? Corridors are tiled rather than carpeted = lots of noise as people return to rooms at night and early morning.
rest at nights breakfast spa and pool out fo order
big room, stelish far away from downtown
Good location, quiet area.
Large, modern and comfortable rooms, quiet and clean;
room confort and design, silence, excellent breakfast and nice business centre
Perfect hotel if you got a car, a bit far from the city historycal center, but very close of the heart of EUR.
everything was fine except shower was cold, and no compensation. Also breakfast room was poor, with only large table for groups
We didnt stay in the hotel because the swimming pool was closed no swimming pool as [promised in the website
Comfort and cleanliness of the rooms. Politeness of desk staff Waitresses at breakfast who tended to rush you if you were in the latter part of the brerakfast sitting. There seemed to be two standards of breakfast and the standard on the area where we ate did not seem as good as the other seating area.
The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable; water was always hot and plentiful. Reception staff were helpful about getting to the tube and places to eat. We booked on basis that we could use a gym and the swimming pool. These turned out to be private facilities, rather than owned by the hotel so we felt rather unwelcome. We were told our children (aged 11, 13 and 15 who are good swimmers) were not allowed to use the pool, which was tiny in any event and adults had to wear a swimming cap which they could not supply us with and since we had no notice of this, we could not swim either. They suggested wearing a plastic shower cap which was clearly ridiculous! Staff at breakfast were a little grumpy. Over all, things were adequate but nothing we could enthuse about.
Rooms clean, staff friendly and cooperative, distance to metro and bus is acceptable buffet at breakfast small, no hot dishes.
Proximity to the Metro system was good. The facilities advertised, i.e. pool and gym were separate from the hotel and feeling unwelcome is an understatement. The bar area was tinny, small and underground... In fact we skipped breakfast for the whole time we were there even though we had paid for it and ate in a lovely cafe at the bottom of the road.
staff and cleanliness poor breakfast selection
Staff was very friendly, breakfast excellent! The only point is you have to walk little bit from metro, but hotel is located in quite place, that is very good.
the room was clean, pretty quiet, excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff, swimming pool
Easy to get to by car. Was close to the metro and was about 25 minutes to the colosseum from and 1 hour to St Peters from hotel. Breakfast and restaurant were really good and gym is excellent. Just beware travelling metro at peak times gets very crowded.
Breakfast was quite good. No hot food but other selections were good. Beds were hard and showers small but this seems to be typical of European hotels. Tea and codffee making facilities would be appreciated. Just a small thing but not difficult for the hotel to do. Location was a bit further out - train station was a fair walk away although this did not bother us - about 400 meters.
very nice, good location&price
Very nice hotel, good value for money. From the first glimpse the hotel seems to be far from center but actually it is located rather conveniently - 5-7 min to the bus stop and 10-15 min by bus to the Termini station or to the Pzza Venezia. Also you can get their from the airport by the ordinary (not Leonardo express) regional train (direction Fara Sabina) for less time and money: you get off the train at Ostiense station and exit to Pzzle Partigiani, take bus N 30 direction Laurentina, the stop you need is Navigatori (the 3rd from Ostiense), then you have to walk about 5-7 min to Casa Domitilla. They don't have any hot food (eggs of smth like this) for breakfast, but anyway the breakfast is very good :))
Extra bed was awful
Hyggelige personalet, god service og god frokost Nei
Bra frokostbord. Hyggelig og profesjonelt personale. Utmerket renhold. Grei adkomst til sentrum via metro. Altfor lytt i hotellet, både fra gaten, fra gangen utenfor rommet og fra tilstøtende rom.
Vi hadde rom i et "anneks". Fikk hyttefølelse. Rent rom, men veldig slitt bad. Harde madrasser.
Friendly and helpful staff at the reception, good location with easy acccess to the city centre, room was being kept clean every day, breakfast was not very rich but ok. Hot water took way too long to warm up. No free wifi at the room.
The hotel is conveniently close to the metro stop (10 minutes on foot) in a relatively quite neighborhood. My single room was very small, but clean and well furnished. Staff was competent, and buffet breakfast - albeit limited with regards to selection of food and beverages - was of good quality.
Very, the staff was beyond polite, always ready to help, good localization.
1. The staff are very friendly, helpful and speak English well. 2. The room is good and clean. 3. It's not too far away from tube station. 4. It's quiet at night. 5. There are many good restaurants in the area. 1. Breakfast is too simple. 2. The speed of Internet is not good enough.
The friendly and helpful staff especially those manning reception Our first room was fairly noisy but staff were very helpful in relocating us to a quieter room
Very friendly staff, who spoke English. Although room was not on the large side it was perfectly adequate for our needs and spotlessly clean. Nice touch to have the towels changed each day, so often this doesn't happen. Only downside was difficulty in finding it and then when we did we couldn't locate the entrance. But that may say something about our map reading abilities!
the room was nice and clean> the location wasnt great, it was near the metro but that was the best thing about it.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and gave us some great suggestions of were to go in Rome.
Hotel Derby was located in a quiet residential neighbourhood with easy access to the rest of the city by Metro. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. We have travelled extensively in more than seventy countries and for many years we have tried to avoid booking rooms in the main tourist areas.
Convenience to Rome. Breakfast was good and included, you get 1 croissant but you can ask for another. Fridge for general use in the room. Hotel staff were pleasant and happy to help/give advice. Internet hotel rate was good and reflects accommodation but had to book 3 days direct with hotel and thought rate was too high for facilities offered, but due to location convenience to family had to book. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but there were ample cafe/bars right by the hotel offering local prices.
