Beautiful location, nice balcony, good air conditioning, nice breakfast. Slightly dated, especially the exterior of the building. Not really what I'd call a 5* hotel but nice nevertheless.
swimingpool no lcd in the room.but in the picture i found the lcd but in my room ....no i wait for chek in until 5 pm.....i do not recommend this hotel"
Excellent welness area and treatments offered where very good and affordable The food was very poor for a five star hotel!
Rooms are nice ,breakfast good,8 km from the center of Rijeka
hotel staff not sympathy the room untidy no facilities as 5 star hotel
It was fine. There were not enough towels on the pool, probably because of the construction work. Also inside pool was not in use. (This is just a comment, not complain.)
I like the room, the view.
The location of the hotel is in the middle of the city of Opatija. The staff is very friendly and my room was clean, large and equippd with all the usual ammenities and a nice seaview terrace. I stayed for one night only and did not find anything that I would not like
Comfort of room Public parking in front of hotel cost 5 kunas/hour, entrance in spa is expensive even one of saunas was out of order
Beliggenhet. Og den morsomme tilfeldigheten at jeg har besøkt hotellet en gang tidligere for over 30 år siden som interrail- turist Alt var bra.
Bra hotell, god service, gratis parkeringsplass Triste uniformer, minner om kommunist regimet
The staff were consistently polite and helpful. During a spell of very bad weather they made every effort to make last minute appointments for me at the spa so that my holiday was not affected. There was nothing that I found out of place or that I did not like.
Bar & restaurant location & sea wiev from the room
Excellent position,nice view,SPA,excellent massage,spacious room.... Unfriendly staff,no wireless internet in room,poor breakfast....
The 4-stars Hotel Grand Opatijska Cvijeta offered comfort of a 5-star hotel. The location was ideal and the rooms were very large and comfortable. The hotel itself was great but I was disturbed by the conduct of Milenij Hotels. I booked a room in Hotel Milenij which booking was changed by the chain to the Hotel Grand Opatijska Cvijeta one day before arrival! It was justified by unidentified technical problems. This was really annoying and uncomfortable. I must admit, however, that the replacement hotel was great.
We went during the off season and so were able to have very nice rooms at a very reasonable prices. The staff was courteous and helpful and the included breakfast was delicious and plentiful. When two of three of us asked for changes to our room assignments, the front desk accomodated this - one receiving a very nice double with a sea view and the other (who wanted a view) did get that, but the bed was a pull-out couch. Clearly this room normally serves as the living space of a suite. However, this was satisfactory as it gave the desired view.
Nothing Cannot be regarded as a 5* hotel, hardly up to the standard of 4* hotels we were in in Croatia. Room dull and dingy, puplic areas poor. Breakfast was horrible, stale bread and rolls, no fresh juices, hot food looked over cooked and finished items were not replaced.
Great location (heart of Opatija), exquisite buffet breakfast Reception staff unworthy of a 5* hotel. Shame that hotel guests have to pay extra charges for parking their car.
We liked the location, the luxurious surroundings, the pool and spa. We did not like the fact we were kept awake for 2 nights in a row until 3 am by a disco in the hotel which was the loudest we have ever heard. We also did not like the fact you had to hire sunbeds on the hotel terrace. We feel this should be included in price.
its position, so close to the sea.also the breakfast! room was a bit too small.
breakfast and outdoor dining areas
Staff Food not so good
Reasonable hotel with good external swiming pool, nice view from hotel rooms, bit large for moving from one side of the hotel to other.
great views over the sea breakfast food poor
Huge internal pool. Panoramic kinds on the sea and yachts from all numbers.
Fabulous indoor sea water pool. Beds
Nice room, nice view, lots of facilities, beautifull city, very helpfull car-boy. The hotel lies very quiet, which is nice. The boulevard is very noisy, lots of hotels have music. You hear nothing in the hotel Admiral. Very friendly staff in the restaurant! The buffet, we wished we had choosen à la carte. But then, it was very very cheap.
Location, Service, Breakfast was great They charged us for chairs at the pool despite being a guest. One day the pool was being cleaned so for the whole day we could not use it. The indoor pool closes very early on weekdays and the fitness club was not open once during my 6 day stay. The staff at the hotel Taverna seemed to forget something from our order each time we ate their.
The view en close tho te center. Complicated to find the way. Easy to get lost in this hotel. No possibility for ordering drinks at swimming pool and whe had to pay for umbrella and chairs at the swimming pool.
location,cleanliness and comfort
Hotel has a good location, rooms are spacious and properly equipped, breakfast is excellent, hotel staff is kind
The location is perfect, close to the city center, the parking house has enough room, the breakfast was ok for a 3 stars hotel The room was not so clean, the wireless intenet signal strength was very poor on the 5th floor and I was not able to access any websites.
The view from the balcony, towards the Adriatic Sea is amazing. For a three star at that price, the hotel has a bad location, hardly any parking space and a very low comfort level. The noise from the street is amazing and at Saturday evening the place is packed with drunk teenagers (careful with the car).
Location and the view The shower...
Good hotel with new rooms, good breakfast, near to city centre. Few space to parking outside hotel but good free parking in garage if it is free.
limited parking in front of the hotel (by chance), breathtaking seaview from the room on the top floor, continental breakfast, close to the city centre, refurbished room.
It was terrible No parking plases, the conditions of rooms is very poor, air condition not worked. no any bar in hotel, staff was not friendly.
On the reception is a very nice blond Lady, Ms. Sonja. She is not only beautiful in her look, but she is very beautiful in her character, her outmost honesty. By error I gave her about 120 Euro more and was about to leave, when the lady called me back and returned the money. Such behavior is not usual in that part of the world, so it is to be appreciated
The helpfulness of the staff, the views. The estaurant was small and the air-conditioning was inadequate.
Service, location, food a little bit to expensive for 3 stars hotel; poor parking; no hair dryer ( you have to requestet it at the front desk!!!)
Breakfast had a decent selection of things! There was a new cafe that they had attached to the hotel. The beds were very comfy! Rooms were clean and simple and the lobby was large and relaxing with comfy couches to sit and use the free wifi. Slightly overpriced, but limited hotel options in Rijeka.
The view!!! no
Very good price/performance (however, it is off-season). Rooms were clean, staff was ok.
This is supposed to be a 4* hotel - which I am not sure I would agree with. I do not expect to have to pay for the use of the sauna, steam room etc. in the pool area, nor should there be a charge for the sun loungers on the "beach" We had specifically asked for a parking place as we had driven from England, but one was not available
In a great location of Opatija, breakfast was good and parking facilities available.
the newly refurnished facilities
The view of the Adriatic Sea is great. The older section of the hotel is very 70s, but the rooms have great balconies. The newer section is very nice, but no balconies. Buffet breakfast was extensive and good. There are two free internet points in the lobby. There was a stale smell in the lobby of the 70s portion of the hotel.
Location Not enough elevators and the existing ones are too slow. Not enought parking. Hotel Bar and Restaurant close too early.
Excellent, helpful staff; beautiful view of water Room small; had to walk some distance to elevators and breakfast room; not in center of "hotel row"
the view on the sea we were next to the elevators, the noise was constant all night. we certainly did not have a rest. Glad to leave.
Could not fault. Great swimming pool
location Staff unpleasant, not offering help with luggage or anything, rushing people from the dinning room all the time, recycle food! Return food to buffet Parking even when paid for the whole stay they do not keep it and it is a fight every night!
location, Staff unpleasant, not offering help with luggage or anything, rushing people from the dinning room all the time, recycle food! return food to buffet Parking even when paid for the whole stay they do not keep it and it is a fight every night!do not follow on wake up call, and no loundry bags in rooms.
Excellent location, parkingbin front of the hotel, friendly and helpful staff, great food, one of the best hotels I stayed in Croatia. It would have been nice if the sea-view rooms had balconies, but everything can't be perfect, can it? The hotel is so good it does not really matter.
The room, view. Close to the sea. More pancakes for breakfast.
The place of the hotel. The staff is very kind. The shower place is too small although we are not fat people. we would like that breakfast shall include some vegetable .
Good location to beach, water was terribly cold, but this is not a Hotel fault. The breakfast on terrace was on plastic table and chairs, what is not suitable for a 4stars Hotel.
Location is good. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The parking fee is too high. Some male staffs were not sincerely nice. There was stinct smell of the bathrrom. It disapeared after showering.
Desk manager was the most rude and impolite of all encountered on a month's trip to Croatia. Also felt that not allowing bags into dining facility reflected the wrong attitude toward guests. I would not recommend this hotel.
Some of the staff were fantastic and helpful, especially those in the caffe bar and dining room. The heating was set too high(26-27) and an older man on reception was just plain rude.
our room was on the backside of the hotel (not seaside) and very noisy.
Friendly staff, good facilities and food and good location
hard to locate, old rooms, phone and air conditioning not working, food not good. $$$$ for what you get. everything
location, friendly staff initial problem with the toilet-we were given another room
Good hotel, one of the best in Opatija, comfortable, clean, good service
The room was very spacious and was realy clean. Hotel building is not as nice as interior. Stuff was very friendly. There was no shampoo in the bathroom.
Staff was extremely courteous, breakfast buffet fantastic.
Parking, position, view.
The hotel in well located on the seafront. It has an excellent spa and swimming pool with sunbathing facilities that can be reserved for the day.The buffet breakfast is very good with a wide selection to choose from. It has its own car park, ( extra charge) which is essential as it is very very difficult to find parking on the streets. Difficult to find the Hotel and the there are four Grand hotels in Opatija.
location location, staff Getting a little seedy., expensive for condition
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly. No air con!
The position of the Hotel. The hotel is one of the oldest in Opatija and it has a specific charm. The heating was bad.
The location can't be beat and the hotel looks fantastic. The rooom really need updating. Looks like it hasn't been touched in 30 years in the rooms.
The hotel had a beautiful sea view and was within easy walking distance on the Rijeka bus stop. The breakfast was good. The hotel was "very tired" and is in desperate need of redecorating.
The nearness of the seaside and the beautifully located pool with seawater which looked very romantic in the early morning, The style of the hotel's historic design is superb, the magnificent interior is the Crystall Hall where breakfast is served. The particular room we had was unsatisfactorily, it was cramped and its dimensions resembled to a single room. My Partner thinks this is a complaint but it isn't.
This is evidently the oldest hotel in town and its less than luxurious decor and facilities give proof of this, but it has old world charm and views of the sea that make up for this. The staff is terrific and I feel that many of them have been there many years. A very enjoyable stay (but the worst coffee I have ever tasted). The coffee!!
Nice location, very good breakfast. The entire hotel is in need of new carpets, draperies and furniture. At the very least it needs a good cleaning. The rooms are too small for the furniture placed in them. There was no adequate way to maneuver in the room.
Rooms in need of a facelift
Excellent facilities with pools and Wellness Centre, location is fantastic with great views on the Adriatic. Restaurant was O.K.
Spcious, quiet room, big pool, helpful staff, good spa and massage facilitites, private access to the beach (concrete area for chairs), Breakfast quality (considered as fodder rather than food), untidy floors and long way out from the Villa (only possible through the hotel).
The staff at the reception were very nice & helpful! The outdoor pool & areas surrounding the pool are large & very nice. The indoor pool/jacuzzi is just inside from the outdoor pool so it easy to go back and forth between them. The beach area is also close to the outdoor pool. There are some nice rock formations just off the hotel which make for some good snorkeling. It is an easy 10 minute walk to the center of Opatija, so it is easy to go out for dinner without driving. The breakfast does not seem to be 5 star quality. We have stayed at many 4 star hotels in Croatia with better breakfasts. Parking in Opatija is expensive (5 kuna/hour min, even on weekends) so if the hotel doesn't have free parking (like this one), it can add up. We stayed in the Villas and to get there from the hotel (which is the only way) you have to go up and down stairs, which is a pain with a stroller. Same for the beach--the only access from the hotel is with multiple stairs.
Excellent room with fantastic view. Helpful staff. Good sea and pool swimming. Very nice hotel Parking expensive. No outdoor dining in evening (so we tended to dine out)
The room was spaceous, with a wonderful view over Kvarner bay. Hotel beach was great and gave us some privacy, espeacilly valuable during high season when all public beaches are crowded. The open pool was great as well. My daughter enoyed supervised activities for kids during the time of the day when the heat was still too high for children. There were things that a 4 /5 * hotel should not allow: breakfast was pretty poor; hotel towels very thin and washed out; there were no shampoo or body wash in the bathroom exept from the dispenser and those very thin and watered down ; rooms were serviced late in a day.
Five Star, clean, beautifully renovated, quiet room with excellent location for walking; outstanding buffet breakfast; free entertainment on select nights. Opatija is a charming city to walkaround the main street and seaside promenade Difficult to find hotel. Free parking is very difficult to find and roads are very steep -- consider paying hotel for parking; luggage transport from front desk to hotel annex is involved; hotel does not have designated smoke-free rooms.
