wonderful staff, nice small size, a lot like a room in Paris, excellent location we walked everywhere, very accurate description online, no surprises not a thing A++ with us
Close to all of the highlights of Old Quebec City. Staff very accomodating.Good value for money spent. We would stay there again. No
We liked the proximity to shopping and restaurants. The hotel is a beautiful old historic building. The staff were very accomodating. Our room was very small.
Great staff, very warm and welcoming. The building is cozy and has a romantic old Quebec style. Our room had 2 brick walls with large windows. Situated in a lovely location, across the street from the ''Plaines d'Abraham'' park and 15 minutes walk to old Québec. I would not recommend the offered breakfast witch is not bad but a short 2 minutes walk takes you to Cartier street and numerous excellent restaurants.
The staff were wonderful and most helpful. we had trouble with the internet connection that was a little frustrateing ,also the web site uses the incentive of 'continental breakfast ' included this is not the case and I think from what I witnessed with other guests made for a very uncomfortable conversation for the guest and the staff member. taking the time to correct the site will prevent such instances from occurring in the future.
Efficient organization of the room, pleasant staff, good value for money. The surrounding neighbourhood is great - excellent restaurants and useful stores. I thought it was in the old city, but it is a 20 minute walk away.
Staff were efficient and friendly. Rooms passable. No coffee in lobby as promised by booking.com!
Everybody was very polite and very helpful - would definetely stay there again
Staff was very friendly and willing to help. Room was small, but efficient. Bathroom was nice European Design, but logistics to get toilet paper and move around could be improved with cabinetry that is less deep. More outlets electric outlets would be helpful. The dining area was modern and comfortable. Very Nice. I was put off a bit about not having a parking space available. That almost made me look for another place to stay. This may be a problem for future guests. However, the woman at the front desk gave me her spot and told me about having to move my car by 8:00 am to another location. I appreciate her "Aloha" and willingness to help. Her graciousness kept me from finding another hotel, and set the tone for a nice stay. Mahalo and Thank You.
The Auberge du Quartier staff was amazing - very friendly and welcoming! They know all the guests by name and they were especially welcoming. I felt right at home in the hotel - relaxed and comfortable. The location is fantastic too - plenty of restaurants and shops with a block and only a short walk into the historic section of Quebec. I'm looking forward to a return visit!
The decor is outstanding! We appreciated walking to a nearby restaurant in the evening and the proximity to the Musee. Few parking spaces available but we were accomodated.
I liked the excellent location to Ecolobus and Town. The Pricing was ok. nothing important
From the moment we arrived at the Auberge auz Deux Lions, we felt like we were part of the family. The staff was amazingly attentive and we soon learned that we could trust their recommendations completely in terms of sites and restaurants. We also learned some phrases in French, which helped us out in our visits to sites where English was not spoken. All requests were handled in a timely manner and the rooms was clean and quite comfortable.
Good location on a major street, close to everything, but still not noisy, very nice people and nice rooms.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Very modern and new. Big room. Street full of shops and restaurants. Breakfast downstairs at the Cafe was very nice. Many stairs. No parking. No coffee in the room. No 24h check-in. The reception is at the Cafe.
The ambiance of the hotel was European. It was very much like living in a small pensione in Italy. The majority of the people spoke French, but fortunately for us most could speak English as well. The service was good, the staff friendly and helpful. We found the rooms up-to-date with most conveniences and the rooms very quiet. The local flavor of the area with its grocery stores, bakeries, and retail boutiques was charming. The walk-up stairs to the hotel could be challenging for people who have any physical difficulties. Otherwise our stay was very enjoyable!
Decor of the hotel is quite contemporary. Very nice bathroom with modern shower facilities. Breakfast is served in the cafe downstairs. Basically you can order everything from a menue for a certain amount. Very decent offer of breakfast dishes and very well cooked. The place was packed with locals in the morning. The location of the hotel is rather remote from Old Quebec what gives excellent opportunities to enjoy the dining and going out in the good places for locals. 40 min by foot till the actual old Quebec. The quick way to reach town center is to drive or take a bus. We expected the hotel to be closer to the historic center.
Cozy atmosphere, good breakfast in the cafe downstairs. Very nice personnel. The bathroom is private but you need to cross a corridor. The bathroom is locked all the time (you have the key, though). There is just one telephone at the reception but it is accessible all the time.
We were so glad that we stayed at the Hotel Cafe Krieghoff. After being in the crowds in Old Quebec, it was great staying on Cartier Street. It has a wonderful variety of shops and restaurants, but with a more authentic, less touristy feel than in the walled part of town. Be sure to check out the nearby park. We stumbled into a free concert there. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. This is a popular breakfast place. But there was lots of staff and we never had to wait. And everyone at Krieghoff was charming and gracious to us.
this hotel was very pleasant. nice room with a balcony overlooking the street. a bit noisy at night. good breakfast at the busy cafe.. bathroom not in room.
I am American, but studied in Paris in college so loved being close to the old walled area of Quebec City yet in an area of the locals & away from all the American tourists. Staff is warm & friendly. This place is really authentic---I had my cafe au lait in a bowl in the morning like I did in Paris; the croissant was warm & crispy--delish! I was traveling with another lady and the room was clean, modern & spacious with 2 double beds. Bathroom was spacious & modern with nice shower. Free Wi Fi in your rooms with access code posted on wall. Also, lounge/tourist brochure area with a computer and internet access. There was nothing I didn't like: just be aware that this is an auberge (just 7 rooms) so there is no front desk or front desk staff. You go to the bar in the cafe to check in. These people really speak French but also some English. I thought it was fantastic/charming. Steep stairs to get up to rooms and there is no elevator---part of the charm. There is no staff to carry your luggage, but whoever is available in the cafe will help you with whatever you need.
The modern decor of the room. Could hear person above me walking around at 5 am.
Great location with lots of nearby cafe's and restaurants and easy to get to the center of Quebec City. Parking is a bit of a pain but it seems to be everywhere.
