A quiet location, big room, comfortable bed, giant 50 inch tv, great place, friendly staff. Highly recommended. Nothing
Was just down to Portland on a short business trip. The convenience of the location is unbeatable. Lots of good restaurants nearby and easy drive from the airport, and easy public transportation access if using ( I didn't use this service, but did see bus stops). The staffs are all very efficient, and courteous. One of the best treatments I've got for business travel hotels. Room is also very clean for the dollar. Pleasantly surprised. Will be choosing this hotel again for my next stay. Room comes with a large flat screen TV, which is very nice to unwind at night time wish the mattress can be a bit more comfortable My room face the street side and you will hear the street noise if keeping the windows open.
Location on the edge of Nob Hill was great. Could totally walk to area restaurants & bars, and the bus stop out front for easy access to Pearl District & Downtown. Parking was free. Staff is friendly and the hotel was clean. I would definitely stay here again. Agree with another poster who referred to the hotel as "tired". The mattresses in our room were not the best, but they weren't terrible either. Prices are higher than I would have expected, but hotel prices in Portland in general were higher than I expected (also hotel taxes -- what the heck, Portland?) -- and when the free parking is factored in, the Silver Cloud provided the best value.
Walking distance to very good restaurants. In room coffe was very good. Could use one more pillow.
Lived the area it is located. Walk to shops, restaurants. Close to highways. Had am outdoor roof deck. Included breakfast had several options. Liked it all.
The place was built in 1970 but with the upgrades they've done you would not know it. Very friendly staff, clean, comfortable units and centrally located with easy access to the trolley line which then can take you to the MAX
I liked the nice little extras, like free passes for the streetcar and make-up remover wipes. If we were staying longer, the full kitchen would have been useful. The free breakfast was a little better than what one would find at a Hampton Inn. Other than having the hard-boiled eggs delivered in a sealed cellophane bag and waffles that tasted like cardboard, the rest was pretty good, although very basic.
I liked the location near the Nob Hill area and the quick access to the University of Portland which was the reason for my visit. Literally at the end of a freeway exit ramp and in a somewhat industrial area. I did not appreciate the seedy convenience store next door. The front desk Clerk,Frank, while very helpful and nice, was not knowledgable about the area.
Well-equipped fitness room, friendly staff, good location with a range of cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
convenient, free parking, reasonable price elevators were inexplicably slow! coffee maker in room didn't work and was not replaced/fixed after we told the front desk
Great location, near everything on foot. Great room, good atmosphere. Good common areas (nice living room to chill in!). Quiet neighborhood. As others have mentionned, there is kind of a weird smell in the house. I got used to it quickly - it was nothing major to me. The pillows could've been thicker/more comfortable.
