Great location. Spacious and very comfortable room. Staff was very helpful.
The lobby is a grand receiving area. The daily treats corner is excellent for afternoon snacks and quick bite on the run. The breakfast buffet is grand and delicious.
Room situation was excellent. Facilities- mediocre at best. The gym was fine but the pool was abysmal. Service- I get that the service in China is bad, I get it. But come on, train your service better. I couldn't get a taxi for half an hour, and the guy outside was trying to get a taxi for me. If they were smart, they would have called a taxi through phone.
Meget bra! Veldig sentralt. Flott hotell. Nei.
Comfortable bed and the room is clean. Staffs are friendly too. If the hotel is located in PuXi whould be better.
I had a very pleasant stay, staff was very friendly especially on Horizon club. My dining experience at Nadaman was execellent mainly due to staff.
good location but room was too small do not feel confortable with security.
It was very frustrating for me that they couldn't speak english and clearly they were not understanding what were my needs. When I checked in, they put me in a 'second' building which is for extended stays. It was not the most luxurious room but it was clean and had what you need. Very small though. Anyways, I thought I could deal with it until I found out that there was no internet conection. I called them and explained what was the situation and NO ACTION was taken. I asked to talk to the manager and after 5 different call transfers, I got to the manager. The manager did not speak english very well and in his broken english he said they were going to send an 'engineer.' After 5 calls and the last one was not very polite, the engineer came and they found out that there was no service at all. They gave me another room in their 'main' building which seemed to be more a hotel room. I can't complain about this as it was a nice hotel room.It is clean, it is very close to the expo , it...
The room is too small. This is not a 4-star standard hotel The bed is only 90 cm wide, and is short. The equipment is old. The window is a little dirty This room can not match its price in any sense. The pic of the hotel is not real, not in the same level with other hotel in China. The most important thing, the attitude of the staff we met for check-in is. terrible. You can made little adjustment after you check in Hoping other visitor check the hotel before you go.
The hotel is in a really nice central area, close to the subway station and shopping mall. The room have hair-dryers, fridge and internet (although internet is not free). Very good price-quality.
This hotel was great in terms of cleanliness and helpful staff. The rooms were very nice (although the single is just that, a small room), and cable TV was a plus (although for English-speakers, your choices are CNN International, HBO, and CCTV 9). The staff was also very helpful, although their English is somewhat limited (but better than average I thought). There is also 24-hour security and room service, although I never tried it. Of course, with the price that travel website offered, this hotel is an excellent pick, except for one thing: location. The location of this hotel is in Xuhui District, Shanghai, which is not bad. But it is at least a 20-minute walk to the nearest subway station (either Damuqiao Rd or Luban Rd Stations) each way, and at night when it is freezing (in the winter) or when you are lugging your luggage, or when trying to catch a train (by subway, it is at least 40 minutes to Shanghai Main Railroad Station, and around 30 to Shanghai South), it is not necessaril...
During my stay, I feel very comforatable. I can walk out to the nearby restaurants to eat what I want. There is a gym for table tennis across the hotel which is very handy for me . Nearby the Gym there is a large local supermarket store, pretty much you can buy any food or necessity there. From Pudong airport, take #3 airport bus costs 20RMB to get there. The bus stop is just across the street,a walking distance. Also from this stop, you can take the same bus to go to Xu Jia Hui big shopping mall. only one bus stop away. Next time I go to Shanghai, I would consider staying at the same hotel.
We completed the trip to Shanghai in November 2010. Location of hotel is convenient but its appeal is not impressive at all. The neighborhood is full of over-spill sewage smell like most other Shanghai neighborhoods except Pudong New Area. We booked a room in the main building on the 30th floor. The room was clean but with two major discrepancies. Even when we set the aircon to cool #40not heat#41 only warm air came out and the room temperature kept going up beyond 28 degree C. The shower was cheaply renovated in early 2010 with no shower tub only two pieces of placey-glass glued to the floor. Water leaked out under the door into the bath room the small tiles covering the shower floor kept coming lose and the shower door handle was seriously rusted. Luckily Shanghai was my wifes birthplace and we speak both Mandarin and Shanghaiese so communicating with staff was not a problem. After 5 days we checked out around 9 am and the maid showed up within 10 minutes insisted that we ha...
the room was very small and the bed as hard as a rock but for the price and convenient location it was ok.
Staff was discourteous , they intentionally tried to push a bad quality small room to us . When we bluntly refused to accept the small room, and told that we would not stay in this property, they offer other better room, however still on lower floor . Overall a good property but extremely bad employees attitude, pushing bad rooms 1st to customers. Not expected from such chain of hotels
Good views and location
The location and the hotel facilities were very good. Misunderstandings with staff all the time. Level of English pretty low. I guess it's China experience overall.
Kindness of staff; good location;pleasant rooms & kind service Staff not so experienced regarding follow up buffet; food on buffet mostly luke warm;cuttlery missing; ac often too cold, on 50th floor music too loud and not adequate for breakfast; smoking department next to the food
everything went well I can only propose to take ths hotel. it is very central - no high taxi fees are required.
Spacious room Luxurious decorations an furniture Kind staff Centric location Amazing sky bar In my rate was not included breakfast, and I feel I pay a lot per night Rooms were not cleaned up throughly every day
The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. Was upgraded on check-in to a Suite. The room was in good condition with plenty of room. I would stay there again. Nothing I didn't like, Maud provided cplimentary bottled water daily which was nice.
Very nice staff !
Very good location, no problem with early check in . You can take the subway (metro) from the airport (Line 2) to the hotel door (People Square station). Safety is poor. Anyone can access the elevator. No security and no need to use the room key to get the lift.
Excellent hotel in close vicinity of the Shanghai Rail station, spacious room and perfect bathroom
The rooms are very big and the cleanliness is the best in China The hotel staff is not polite and not helpful. They are more interest in getting their job done easily rather than the interest of the guest. The service standard is very poor and the tone of voice of the staff is very very unpolite. I have never had this kind of bad service in an Inter Con hotel before. Even the expat managers were not helpful...
Room was very good.
It's proximity to the Shanghai Station is a plus point for making day trips to Nanjing and Zhenjiang from which I could be picked up to go to shipyards in the Nanjing and Yangzhou area.
The location is great but most rooms have no views. The products provided is top of the line and the jazz bar, though did not play jazz when we were there, is a nice old time Shanghai fair. The facility is older even after the renovation. The switches are so over-used that one is hard to read what the switch is for. The shower room insulation is old so that water leaks to the toilet area whenver the shower is used.
Great location. When we arrive our room was not ready and the front desk did a double take on our reservation itinerary.
Excelent design, great location, friendly staff most of them. expensive eatting in the hotel, staff need to be more skillful with foreign languages. Even if 9 out of ten staff was great, friendly and polite, just the bad attitude of the tenth was enough to destroy the image of the team.
A fairly genuine five star hotel with well appointed rooms including the "standard" amenities, restaurants and facilities. Location in the heart of Pudong's business area suited my needs well. Complimentary WIFI is a bit irritating in the it required constant re-logging on even inside the 24 hour day - none of the various location logins remembers you. The spa is mediocre with relatively poor service and the pool is far from the expected comfortable resort hangout but rather like a small town community pool where you are given a gross looking community bathing cap before entering the water. While I realize that I'm in a foreign country the overall level of English speaking (understanding) in public areas is below expectations for this class of international hotel. A $ 133.00 charge for a 3 hour late checkout.
Good breakfast variety. Reliable internet. Bathroom amenities (soap etc) have improved since last year. Maintenance crew noisy in middle of the night. Wake-up call was an hour late one morning. Showers a bit leaky into the bathroom.
spa was very nice and all staff were extremely helpful - definitely a pleasant place to be based out of, and a very central location for such a big, spread out city. lobby slightly dated, but possible it was just Chinese sense of decor. Recommend signing up for breakfast package, as we did not and ended up paying $50/breakfast for 2 which is ridiculously expensive over there
should be free no $21/day
Great executive lounge, comfortable rooms, friendly personnel. The bathrooms still no separate shower and very small
Closed to city center. Staff friendly. Have to modernize furniture of the room.
the people working there really try their best and the service is excellent.
The location of the hotel is good. The pictures shown in bookin.com website is different from waht we got. the rooms needs refubishment.
Location and convenience to subway and expressway. The shower was the worst that I had experienced in many hotels and that water smelled foul. It was impossible to regulate the water temperature. If I had more time I would have switched rooms.
- Good breakfast selection Oldfashion shower
Location, price/quality, gourmet corner! Room service comes very early (7.00-8.00 in the morning)
Modern, great service,, good food and wine. Convent to city and shopping. I will stay again.
the room was very comfortable - perfect location for exploring around shanghai. only stayed 1 night as a stop over before continuing on my journey, but gym was very good. i arrived at around 9am - normally check in is at 2pm; i asked if they could accommodate me; they said they could, but i would have to pay half a day extra!!! i have done this before at other hotels and never been an issue. also, first check in counter the staff said no room available so i waited an extra half hour and spoke to someone else who said there was a room available! crazy! also rooms looking a bit dated now, but otherwise comfortable; and yes i did pay the extra half a day! :(
good size clean rooms good shower very good and helpful concierge close to airport too far away from town centre
service, breakfast, friendly staff, nice wide rooms was OK
close by to the airport, so location. staff did not speak english very well.
The room was spacious with a nice view. The bed was very comfortable Only one breakfast was allowed for our stay. Breakfast for the second person would cost $20USD which is expensive for what they served. However fresh machine brewed coffee was available at the lobby which was quite good.
Location is good and close to PVG airport (10 minutes). Nice lobby. Nice rooms for Westerners. New hotel.Nice bathrooms. Fast free internet. Clean rooms. good and quiet A/C. Shuttle to airport. Decent gym. nothing not to like. Maybe some more English TV stations would be nice - like Discovery. This is a very nice hotel. Better than expected for a Howard Johnsons. I had stayed at Ramada Inn at PVG last time. This hotel is MUCH nicer
10 minutes from airport Staff was unfriendly. Food was terrible
The hotel is very nice ,luxurios looks good and have a good position near the airport The personal is ruud and no polite,we stayed only one night and they wanted to make a deposit,i said that i make the final payment and they refused, after a long discusion they accept ,but they locked the mini-bar in the room and take everything out of the room ,like someone want to steal a bootle of water or a beer.A deposit in China means 2 times blockage of the money on the credit card and after the payment you will get your money back in 30 days so always they charge you double wich is not correct
Pros: This is a very nice hotel. Amongst the best I have been to anywhere in Asia, in terms of decor, service, and amenities. Free internet, and free minibar (albeit very limited). Cons: Considerably more expensive than hotels nearby with similar amenities. The in-house dining is jaw-droppingly expensive. $20 for a hamburger. $65 for the breakfast buffet. When I had a change of plans, and needed to go to Nanjing for a couple of days, they refused to allow me to alter my prepaid 10 day reservation. I was informed that I should be happy because I could leave my luggage in my room. Management has since apologized, and says that this should not have happened, and will not happen again. They offered me an upgraded room on my next visit. Conclusion: If you are on business travel, and your HR department will spring for the Kerry, go for it, you will not be disappointed. If you are traveling on your own dime, you can get a similar experience for considerably less.
