Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel & Resort

The property was gorgeous and the pool was wonderful.

Nothing to dislike about the property. But I am upset with Sheraton grand rio because they didn’t handle a situation properly. My husband had money in his pants pocket and it was a zipped pocket. The pants were folded neatly on the nightstand. We discovered that $50 usd was taken from his money in his zipped pocket. When he realized I told him to look everywhere and we both did. Once we confirmed it was truly not there I called the front desk and spoke with the manager on duty that night. She came to my room and looked as well. She said her and head of security will investigate and interview the housekeeping in the morning. ( since the morning housekeeping are the only ones who entered) now the morning comes I get no answer or call. I decided to go down, there was a new manager and she said they are still investigating and keep in mind today is my check out Day now which they extended the time so this can get resolved. So I go about my last day into town and come back around afternoon. I go to my room pack n take a nap. I wake up at 4pm and check out is 6pm. They have never called. I called and by this time there is a new manager there and now he tells me they interviewed the housekeeping and they said they didn’t take anything they have been there for years and nothing like this has ever happened so I need to go to the police station and make a report. At this point I am upset I’m due to leave at 6pm for airport and he is now telling me this. I go downstairs to talk face to face. He reiterates what he said over the phone and I let him know I do not want to go to the police precinct can’t they come here and he said yes I can call them. I let him know I travel very often and showed him my passport and I don’t know if it the because of the way we look why we are being treated as such (we are young black couple). He assured me we don’t look anyway and that’s not the case.
