Hotel exhibited the usual Marriott hospitality...even to remember my birthday with a bottle of wine and a chocolate birthday cake! I arrived at 10.30am and there was a room ready for me. Good limo service arranged to the port for me. Roof terrace food, pool, bar and lounge area excellent...not to mention the views. Marriott always comes through!

Hotel location was great! It faces the incredible, beautiful beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Room was a luxurious, comfortable, double room suite on the 22th floor. Had access to the VIP Lounge facilities, which offered, at no charge: food, drinks & deserts. Our stay, included a delicious breakfast on the second floor facing the ocean. The rooftop Bar has a great staff and makes fantastic drinks. Alessander is outstanding and will mix for you an unforgettable Brazilian Piña Colada! The bar offers awesome views of the beach, stunning mountain range and the impressive Statue of Jesus Christ the Redeemer, who majestically overlooks the city of Rio de Janeiro. Our family will return! Eddie G.

Position overlooking beach, not much else.
Check in was a chaotic shambles, never a good first impression. We arrived early so did not expect rooms to be ready, they promised to call us when rooms became available. They did not call. Room numbers were changed and mixed up between our party. Eventually got allocated a room mid afternoon, cards did not work in lift, then did not work in room door, one of our cases was lost and found in another room. Hotel was a little tired, carpets and furnishings stained. Breakfast disappointing, especially hot food. Seems to be living on its position and neglecting to keep up standards which should be a lot higher bearing in mind the room rate.
